Capital Gang was pretty hot-tempered tonight.
Bill Bennett started being a real Nazi prick, and Mark Shields got fed up:
Bennett: Gore's thugs are stealing the election.
Shields: You sit there on Olympus and hurl thunderbolts like you have superiority.
Bennett: Those are ad hominem attacks and I won't stand for it.
Hunt: Listen to Bill Bennett, the lying shit-bastard whore/hypocrite!
I'm outraged
that this phony ass would lie on our program!
Shields: Bill Bennett is such a martyr! Eat me, Bill!
Hey, why take my word for it?
I'm probably lying, too.

Bill,
What seems most strang to me is the crap you read on bartcop.com
is just as honest and reliable as anything you'll see on the major

That's scary.
No shit - there's not an honest source of news anymore, is there?

Larry Klayman, head bitch at the Washington DC dog pound, has

class action lawsuit, this time at the Dr. Pepper Bottling Company

Klayman says the current Dr. Pepper advertising campaign is "a

because, says Klayman, "The world does not really taste
better with Dr. Pepper."
"We have done our own independent tests," said Larry the Dickless,
"and we have

Subject: Spin This
Those darn Republicans.
You can't call what they do "spin" anymore.
It's just plain deceit.
It's smoke and mirrors.
Take Tom Delay's comment that "Al Gore studied at the feet of
Bill Clinton".
What a ridiculous thing to say.
Everyone knows it was Monica Lewinsky who did that.
Anyway, I think Bird is right in more ways than one. Bill
Clinton IS a hero.
He saved the country from economic ruin, that is the most
immediate
and obvious act of heroism. I'm going to leave out his
peace and uniting
efforts around the world, and his obvious love of humanity.
I can still hear
what he said at the convention, "Always put people first".
Amen.
You know, the Republicans have performed their own monumental
feats.
They took a huge, vibrant, creative nation of people and ran
it completely
into the ground. That, in itself, is a remarkable accomplishment.
However it is nothing compared to the miracle of pulling this
huge nation
out of those dark ages and into its current rennaissance.
The credit for that falls in the lap of Bill Clinton.
So to speak.

Fox News Channel anchor hit a reporter with his car as she saved a parking space.
National TV anchor is accused of battery
By SHELBY OPPEL
TALLAHASSEE -- On its 11th day, the presidential cliffhanger injured
more than Florida's pride.
Capitol Police on Friday arrested Fox News Channel anchor Shepard
Smith, one of hundreds
of journalists in town to cover the election drama, after police
said Smith struck another reporter
with his car during an argument over a parking space.
The reporter, Maureen Walsh of Tallahassee, is a freelance journalist
who works for Bay News 9,
a cable news channel based in Pinellas Park.
By day's end, Walsh was released from Tallahassee Memorial Hospital
with bruises on her
knees and legs, police said. Smith, 36, was charged with aggravated
battery with a motor
vehicle, a felony, and was released on $10,000 bail from the
Leon County Jail.
Police gave this account:
About 2 p.m., Walsh was standing on Monroe Street across from
the Capitol, in a rare empty
space in a parking lot crowded with television satellite trucks.
She told police she was saving the
space for co-workers. Smith drove up in a white Mazda Millenia
and yelled at her to move.
"He shouted some profanities at her and basically just struck
her, striking her at the knees,
which threw her up on the car," said Sgt. Edwin Maxwell.
Walsh told police that Smith got out of his car, shut the door
and walked past her, across Monroe
Street to the Capitol, where he and a dozen other television
reporters had set up makeshift studios
for their live broadcasts. Smith hosts a report that begins at
2:30 p.m.
About an hour later, police found Smith under the white tent with
the word "Fox"
marked in black masking tape. Other reporters clamored around,
asking the officers
if someone's camera had been stolen, Maxwell said.
Officer Tony Chambers asked "Who's Shepard Smith?"
and Smith promptly answered "I am," Chambers said.
Smith made no statement to police. A spokesman for Fox News Channel,
a 4-year-old cable channel
that competes with CNN, confirmed the arrest but declined to
comment further.
Walsh could not be reached.
Smith, whose full name is David Shepard Smith, began his career
at WJHG-TV, an NBC affiliate in
Panama City, according to a biography on the Fox News Channel
Web site, foxnews.com.
Besides his daily broadcast, Smith hosts The Fox Report with Shepard
Smith, from 7 to 8 p.m.
Monday through Friday. The Web site biography said Smith is a
senior correspondent who once
worked as a reporter for A Current Affair.
The Fox News Channel tent was quiet Friday afternoon at the Capitol.
That night's show was to
be anchored from New York City.

FOX NEWS CHANNEL'S SHEPARD SMITH ARRESTED
An eyewitness reports...
"Smith was trying to park his car in a parking spot reserved
for a news crew (they had moved the car to go get food for
crews busy working live shots). A reporter was standing in the
parking spot to prevent Smith from parking there."
"He intentionally ran into her with his car to try and get her to
move from the parking spot. She was thrown onto the hood
of the car and ended up on the ground. Smith then parked the
car, turned off the engine, turned to the crews assisting the
reporter and said "fuck you" and walked into the state capital.
Police and paramedics were called."
"When arrested on the street outside the capital, Smith said he
couldn't understand why this was happening... they then
handcuffed him. He's in Leon County jail tonight awaiting first
appearance hearing tomorrow morning. Reporter was
transported to the hospital and treated and released... and, in
fact, returned to the capital to finish her live shot duties before
heading home."
