Well, vacations’ over, I’m back in the U.S.S. back
in the U.S.S., I forgot,
we still have what’s referred to as a two party congress, so I’m just back.
Before I left the Northland the big news was that U.S. troops had killed
the
sons of Saddam. While FOXNazi and the Bushies were passing high fives the
rest of the world was looking a little shocked and awed.
Like virtually everything done by this administration the Mosul action
raised more questions and horrific possibilities than solutions. At the
gym
a couple of fellows were suggesting that the Americans had once again put
everyone at risk just so George W. could play cowboy. They also raised
the
question as to how much do generals make for starting wars and then getting
jobs a guest commentators?
The point is there are a LOT of questions surrounding what is taking on
the
air of an Iraqi version of Waco and Gen. Sanchez is beginning to sound
a lot
like Burn’em alive Bob Ricks, FBI Agent in charge at Waco and currently
Director of the Oklahoma Department of Public Safety---appointed by all
mouth no brains Gov. Frank Keating. By the By Ricks thinks he’s going to
be
appointed to the Homeland Security honcho for Oklahoma. Sorry Bobby.
I have this vision of Condi Rice handing out knees pads and lip gloss
to
White House staffers and well wishers while singing “Walk this way.”
Maybe
there’s even a chorus with Bill O’Reilly, Clarence Thomas and Rush wearing
thongs and singing harmony as George places his hands on the back of each
head thus presented. And, being Bush, he won’t have that press corps/blue
dress problem. It’s only a vision, but from the sounds of FOXNazi not far
from truth.
Anyway. Just how did the sons of Saddam die? So far there are only the
undertakers photos.
What came out first was about a four hour firefight. Where are the wounded?
Where are the prisoners? Where’s the damage to vehicles? Where is anything
besides Gen. Sanchez?
Did the U.S. troops have anything, I mean one scrap of paper, that
resembled a warrant, a bill of particulars, mandate, from the United
Nations, the Hague, or even the newly install Iraqi counsel? Was there
anything that said it was alright to kill these guys?
Being from what was once the pillar of democracy and rule of law, I just
have this thing about killing people with out trial and evidence.
Now caution. Those of you who think I’m taking up for these guys, you’re
wrong, very gently remove your cranium from it’s normal resting place and
take a look around---see it’s not all Bushie land.
No. I’m just saying a very dangerous precedent has been set by George
W. Bush. Simply said, any jerk in the world can now claim any other jerk
is an enemy of the most dangerous proportions and whack the dude and Bush
can’t say a word, he set the rule. And, his rule made us all a target,
unfortunately most people don’t have swarms of Secret Service men to
keep jerks away from them or hide them from combat when the dogs of war
are
slipped to charge across the land.
As my brother in law, Canadian, said, “they kill them so they wouldn’t
talk.”
His is a view shared by many and nothing Bush can say will change that,
he’s lied
too often about too much.
Many here in the heartland thought their troops would be coming home
in September, now their being told maybe before Christmas. Bush can’t let
the troops come home for the same reason he had to kill Saddams sons. If
they come home, they’ll start talking and that wouldn’t be good for George.
I am reminded of the song by Peter Seeger, “We’re waist deep in the
big muddy, and the damn fool says push on.”
