"The irony now is that Bob Woodward and Carl
Bernstein have, pod-like, become the men
who once sought to take them off the
story -- political insiders bent on preserving their access,
satisfied with how things appear to
be rather than the facts in front of their faces."

Air
Force officer: Bush allowed September 11 attacks
Hijacker attended US military school
Excerpt:
The controversy surrounding Lt. Col. Steve
Butler’s letter to the editor, in which he affirmed
that Bush did nothing to warn the American
people because he “needed this war on terrorism,”
received scant coverage in the media.
Universally ignored by the press, however,
was that the officer was not merely expressing a personal opinion.
He was in a position to have direct knowledge
of contacts between the US military and some of the hijackers
in the period before the terrorist attacks
that destroyed the World Trade Center and damaged the Pentagon.
Wayne Williams
Will lie
for food
This guy is a bad substitute for the vulgar Pigboy.
He tells the same kinds of stupid lies and he also refuses to
tell the truth.
Thursday, he was railing against the stupidity of steel tariffs.
He said tariffs raised the price of steel, they made it tougher
for
American steel companies to compete, it was inflationary, it
threw
a lot of people out of work, and he blamed "the politicians"
for it.
No, no, no, no, no.
It was not "the politicians" who did that, Mr Williams.
It was YOUR HERO, the Unelected Fraud who created steel tariffs.
Had it been Bill Clinton, right-wing radio would've spend days
and weeks
screaming at the incompetent boob who was "so political" and
"too ignorant
about financial affairs," and what a "bungling fool" he most
certainly was.
But since Williams is a dishonest whore, since he refuses to call
a spade a spade,
the lying slut blames "the politicians." You can't rail against
"the government" for
getting it wrong. It's not "the government," it's the stupid
Bush boy screwing up.
Wayne Williams - thy name is whore.

One skeptical citizen
Excerpt:
"For most of the months since Sept. 11, the FBI,
CIA and the Bush administration have
essentially been given a pass by most of
the media. Immediately following Sept. 11,
many so-called news organizations functioned
as little more than cheerleaders for the
administration, complete with computer-generated
flags undulating electronically
alongside the usual corporate logo. It
was as if the traditional mandate of a free press,
to report the news without fear or favor,
was obsolete. Now, the function of a free press
was to big up an administration and un-intelligence
community caught asleep at the wheel.
Chalk up another victory for the terrorists."

Way we War

When I mentioned Julie's new digs, I failed to give a shout out
to Charlie
and Helen,
the actual owners of this fancy lake house that Julie is staying
in. Laurie says her Dad built this
place with his own two hands, and when Helen and he were all
set to retire, the Oil President
ran the economy into the dumper and now they can't afford to
retire. They have to keep working!!
Smirk, you're killing us!!!
So thank you, thank you to Charlie
and Helen for being so generous.
That was a hueueueugely nice thing to do.

'Enemy Combatant' Loses Right to Lawyer, Feds Say
Excerpt:
"It's not just that you have no right to a lawyer,
it's that you have no right to even
have a hearing. If that is true, then there
is really no limit to the President's power
to label U.S. citizens as bad people and
then have them held in military custody."
Duh!
You would have known that months ago if you'd read bartcop.com
Bush and Ashcroft, like most Republicans, have a lot of trouble
with the difference
between an accusation and a conviction. Every right-wing goof
is saying,
"But this Padilla guy
is Al Qaeda! He has no rights!"
So - he's Al Qaeda because Bush says so?
Why bother to have courts or judges or lawyers if George Bush
can tell
who is guilty and who's not without "bothering" with holding
a public trial?
In China and North Korea, they at least go thru the pretense of
having a trial.
Under the Unelected Usurper, America doesn't even bother anymore?
American citizens have more rights in China than they do in the
United States?
Subject: Thank you
I have to thank you for sending a tape.
I felt the flavor of JulieFest and loved every
minute of it!
So I ran it again. And will continue to.
Sure wish I could have been among the people cheering
Julie, and groaning at a few other people.
Did my heart good to see actual people with whom
I could identify. My nephew is right, there are
other people in this country that feel as I do,
how wonderful it is to see some of them.
Please keep the BartCop hex on Bush, Inc.
I think it may be working!

Hi Bart
Make sure you save me a Julefest tape, damn sure
want to see it.
Getting ready for work hot as hell here right
now.
My boss sure likes this Smirk economy, now he has his pick of workers again.
Adios
Joe
Joe, good point.
I remember under Clinton, employers always had trouble finding workers.
Clinton promised to create 8 million new jobs but he created 22 million
jobs instead,
proving that he's a liar just like the Republicans told us 24/7 for
eight years.

Staying alive 'til '04: What the Democrats have to do
Excerpt:
"Speaking of which, stop buying into Republican
propaganda. It's clever, it's pervasive,
and it's usually nasty, and it's always
bullshit. Those whorish, dirty clowns don't represent
the American people. They would have been
the ones Americans revolted against in 1776.
They would have been the Confederates in
1861, cheerfully committing treason and patting
themselves on the back as they did so.
They were the ones who gave us Joseph McCarthy
and Richard Nixon, and the folly of Reaganomics.
They lie because they have to.
The truth would destroy them. Remember
that."

Bush's
Grim Vision
by Nat Parry at consortiumnews.com
Excerpt:
In the nine months since Sept. 11, George
W. Bush has put the United States on a course
that is so bleak that few analysts have
– as the saying goes – connected the dots. If they had,
they would see an outline of a future that
mixes constant war overseas with abridgment of
constitutional freedoms at home, a picture
drawn by a politician who once joked,
"If this were a dictatorship, it would
be a heck of a lot easier – so long as I'm the dictator."
Comment: Bush is such a moronic simpleton, that when he
finally manages to memorize a line,
he repeats it again and again. This "as long as
I'm the dictator" crap was said a
half dozen times, and that "Lucky me, I hit the
trifecta" more than a dozen.
Like a child who has learned a phrase in another language, Bush is compelled
to repeat it again and again and again...

Listen to This, Eddie
When I obsess over something, I really do
it up right.
I have over a hundred live Led Zeppelin concerts, and I've listened
to
some of those shows more than 100 times. They just keep getting
better.
Twenty five years ago tonight, Led Zeppelin had, for my money,
the best overall night of their careers playing at the Forum
in Los Angeles.
Ask any Zeppelin collector about 6/21/77.
It's hot stuff.

Bart,
I frequent the AOL chatrooms on Politics (a chatroom
full of amazingly scary Americans) and
someone in there said that Katherine Harris had
been cleared of any wrongdoing re: the felon's list, etc.,
during the 2000 debacle. Is this true?
I can't find anything to say she has been or hasn't been.
I didn't even know they were bothering with the sham of an investigation.
I'm sure Jeb & the Governor wouldn't let her get into trouble.
Plus, Jeb owns the Florida legislature, too.
Another thing: I just finished reading Brock's
brilliant "Blinded by the Right,"
and I'd like to email him to thank him for the
read. How can I do that?
Do you have his email address or know how I can
track it down?
Dana
I don't have an e-mail for Brock.
Does anybody? If so, send it in, please.
They read it in Istanbul.
They read it in Edinburg.
They read it in Bowling Green
