Quotes
"The bear market that we're suffering right
now is probably one of the worst
I have ever gone through, and it's
not a comfortable place to be..."
-- Charles Schwab, Bush toady and million-dollar
contributor.
Why would a millionaire spend a million dollars to elect a pinhead?
Buying opportunities, that's why.
They had none under Clinton, because stocks always went up.
There is a SCATHING
rebuke of the Unelected Fraud on the front page
of today's USA Today newspaper, right in the middle of the top.
Mr Rove will not be happy.
The author of the piece, Ellen Hale might be looking for a job.
Excerpts:
"Why," she blurted out, "does everybody
hate us?"
It's not just religious radicals and terrorists who resent the United States anymore. "Now, it's everyone,"
What happened to that wave of sympathy and
stockpile of global goodwill after Sept. 11?
"It was squandered. America dissipated the goodwill
out of its arrogance and incompetence. "
Europeans have "come to view the United
States simply as a rogue colossus,
in many respects a bigger threat to their
pacific ideals than Iraq or Iran."
"Why do people attack Americans? Because they have a big, big mouth and they mind everybody's business."
"Around the world, many see the United States
as arrogant, hypocritical, self-absorbed,
self-indulgent and contemptuous of others,"
The United States preaches democracy, human rights
and free enterprise — but doesn't practice them.
I would like to remind our European allies
that this insane criminal was NOT elected by the voters.
We didn't ask for him any more than the
Cubans, the North Koreans or Iraqis asked for their illegal dictators.
He stole his way to power with the help
of a crooked court and no resistance at all from the Democrats.
Bush's "fuck
you" style of diplomacy is despised all
around the world, and now, so are we.
...
Go to hell!
My family needs to earn!
Oil is
what's important, understand that?
We're gonna
do what we 're gonna do.
If you
don't like it, attack my military!
Bush
tack on budget is off
by Hillary
Rodham Clinton
Excerpt:
"After his being in office for just 18 months,
more than $5 trillion of the projected surplus has vanished.
Despite a bipartisan commitment to protect
the Social Security surplus, the administration's budget
proposes to spend much of the Trust Fund's
surplus every year during the next decade. And despite
a bipartisan commitment to reduce our national
debt, it is on track to be higher at the end of 2007 than
at the end of 2001. The country's economic
condition demands more serious rethinking of our fiscal policy."
Quotes
"Consumers' confidence is weakening. We see
it in their buying behavior.
We see it in them buying private-label
products instead of branded products.
We see them buying things like hamburger
instead of steak."
-- Larry Johnston, Bush toady and millionaire owner
of
Albertson's grocery stores

Message from Tamara Baker
People, if ever there was a story that needs
to be spread far and wide this is it.
The link shown below does not work.
ABC for some unexplained reason pulled this story
almost as soon as it went up.
Orders from the self appointed God, Judge, Jury & Executioner????
Probably so or from the other end of the
evil axis...Ashcroft!
IF there is any doubt in anyones mind that
bu$h intends to be dictator.... may I suggest that you think again?
This miserable little nothing man who forced
his ugly face in ours is preparing to take this country to the depths of
hell.
Print this story, spread it far and wide
and may I suggest that everyone who reads this please write a letter, call
your
congressman, your local newspaper or anyone
else who may listen. This appointed dictator is out of control.

Bush OK's
Summary Executions Of Some Designated As Terrorists
8-12-2002
WASHINGTON (Reuters) - In a surprise move
sure to raise outcries from foreign governments, civil liberties
groups and others, The White House today
announced with little fanfare that effective immediately, certain
individuals whom President Bush or other
high-level Administration members have designated as terrorists
are subject to summary execution by either
Homeland Security operatives, U.S. intelligence operatives,
and in some cases by U.S. military personnel.
The presidential directive applies to both
U.S. and foreign citizens,
both within and outside the United States
territory.
The White House gave notice of the new policy
in as quiet a way as possible, making the announcement
late Sunday evening from Crawford, Texas.
The unprecedented move is thought certain to generate a
firestorm of protest from numerous quarters.
I took a lot of flack from readers when I told you this was going
on.
Bush is insane - can this really be happening in today's
America?
Anyone Bush wants dead is dead?
No trial?
No lawyer?
Just dead?
..and the Democrats are still asleep, or too afraid to speak.
Is there not anything that would get them to do their
jobs?
But Bart,
Bush is a great president!!
He's great
with war, great with the economy,
great with
installing confidence on Wall Street,
and he's
the most honest oil man that ever lived.
Get behind
your president, Bart!
Be a patriot,
like us gelding wimps.
Oh, God, I need a stiff fucking drink...

Hence the astonishingly mendacious press

Subject: Attorney General Ashcroft
Bart,
I got this from Buzzflash. What did the pink tutus
say when Asskiss was nominated?
"Incoming administrations deserve a smooth transition.
We can't get the Bushies off to a bad start
by asking all those tough questions and challenging
their nominees for cabinet posts. After all,
Clinton got all kinds of heat for his nominees
and remember the trouble that caused?
We can't do the same thing to the other party.
THAT WOULDN'T BE FAIR."
Wouldn't it be great to belong to an opposition
party?
Instead, we get people like Russ Fiengold, considered
'progressive', voting to confirm Ashcroft.
Hey Russ, how you sleeping nights?
Not well? I wonder why?

Camps
for Citizens: Ashcroft's Hellish Vision
Attorney general shows himself as a menace to liberty.
by Jonathan Turley, professor of constitutional law at
George Washington University.
Excerpt:
Atty. Gen. John Ashcroft's announced desire
for camps for U.S. citizens
he deems to be "enemy combatants" has moved
him from merely being a
political embarrassment to being a constitutional
menace.
Ashcroft's plan, disclosed last week but
little publicized, would allow him
to order the indefinite incarceration of
U.S. citizens and summarily strip them
of their constitutional rights and access
to the courts by declaring them enemy combatants.
...and we're all going to sit here like sheep on Prozac?
If only we had an opposition party in the country, instead of a party of pink-tutu's doves.
Be nice,
Bart, show some respect.
Bush and
Ashcroft are our friends.
By the way, the "special guests" we're hoping to get at BartFest?
They are NOT wimps with pink tutus.
They are fighters!
Quotes
"Looking back on it now, I think that it was
a mistake in our approach, yes."
--Cardinal Bernard Law, Boston,
in newly released tapes of his June deposition
I don't enjoy saying this, but I believe Cardinal Law is lying.
"I didn't know."
"I forgot to check the records."
"I relied on the opinions of others."
"They were all innocent mistakes."
What crime is worse than child rape?
Why can't they stop their self-destruction?
These are men of God, they claim, and they don't want a "zero
tolerance" rule against child rape?
How can you Catholics sit back and watch this?
Worse, are you still giving them money, so they can secretly
pay off
the families of the raped so they can rape a different child
tomorrow?
How can you live with this situation?
Quotes
"One of the most beautiful prayers in the Catholic
church is the act of contrition,
when in confession we say, "bless me
father for I have sinned." Cardinal Law today
said it's somebody else's fault. He's
a disgrace. He should go."

Pentagon
proposed attacking Americans to promote war
by Carla Binion - Online Journal
Contributing Editor
Excerpt:
“An aircraft at Elgin AFB would be painted and
numbered as an exact duplicate for a civil registered aircraft
belonging to a CIA proprietary organization
in the Miami area. At a designated time the duplicate would be
substituted for the actual civil aircraft
and would be loaded with the selected passengers, all boarded under
carefully prepared aliases. The actual
registered aircraft would be converted to a drone [a remotely controlled
unmanned aircraft.] Take off times of the
drone aircraft and the actual aircraft will be scheduled to allow
a rendezvous south of Florida.
Hmmmm, sounds like that Pentagon plane, doesn't it?

TV Show Lacking in Reality
by Joe Conason
Excerpt:
The Waco forum was about as authentically
significant for economic policy
as the President’s "ranch" in nearby Crawford
is for his credentials as a cowhand.
George W. Bush has learned from experience
that if he emphasizes his Texas drawl,
slaps on his cowboy hat and talks as if
he’d never set foot in Andover, Yale and Harvard
(let alone Kennebunkport and Greenwich),
most people will buy the down-home shtick.

Subject: Talking the economy higher
Bartcop,
I was watching Butch try to talk the economy higher
yesterday. He said the "fundamentals are strong".
How stupid do you have to be to say things like
this when US Airlines declared bankruptcy the day before,
United is rumored to be on the verge of filing
chapter 11, American Airlines cut 7,000 jobs, and IBM is
cutting more than 16,000 jobs? Who gets
screwed when things like this? The people who actually work
for a living and can't understanding an asshole

Quotes

Hey Bart:
One thing that you forgot to mention about Vegas
attractions
is the fact that it is a short drive over the

Clean safe and 100% legal.

Since it's legal, is there anything wrong with a single man

I'm sure the religio-fundies are clutching their hearts and scouring

In 1952, President Harry S Truman established Citizenship Day,
September 17,
as a federal holiday to honor the original signing of the Constitution
in 1789.
Right now, the Constitution is under attack in the name of anti-terrorism.
You are invited to participate in a citizen action on September
17, to remember,
honor and uphold the Constitution.
Please visit http://americalivefree.org

and how you can get involved.

Quotes
"The people can always be brought to the bidding
of the leaders.
That is easy. All you have to do is
tell them they are being attacked,

same in any country."

BartFest2002 - Party of the Year
Make your own hotel reservations.
The dice have been rolled!
There is a misconception about the August 15 deadline.
That is NOT the last day you can buy tickets.
Tickets will be available until the night of the party.
The 15th, Thursday, is the day The
Rio wants to know if we're going high or low.
If we rent a room for 60, and 160 show up, we'll be all kinds
of cramped.
If we rent the 160 room, and 60 show up, we lose a few thousand
dollars.
At this point, it would help to know if you're a "maybe."
We could have a hundred "maybes" but I'd hate to find out 6 weeks
from today,
when it's too late to change the size of the venue.
Update: I did something last night.
I raised the stakes.
I doubled down.
I threw my best pitch.
I was contacted and told to expect an answer
by tomorrow.
I doubt we'll know before we publish Thursday, (might run a "special
edition)
but we'll be in the MIRC chat room right after I call Christian,
Larry and Pat RT.
If this works we're going to have the most exciting non-Clinton,
non-JulieFest2002-DC
guests
guests, I might add, chosen by you, the readers in the BartFest
poll,
or...
we will have not spent a lot of money, so we're going
to have a great time no matter what!
This is the biggest one-day gamble I've ever taken, and we're
doing it in Las Vegas,
the most exciting city in the world!
ha ha
...it's so exciting!!!
Also, East Coast is still leading the West Coast greater
than 3-2, we've gotten newcomers from Austin,
St. Louis and swear to Koresh RHODE ISLAND, but we DID have David
L from Los Angeles sign up,
proving that not everybody in the state of California needs a
lesson on how to party!
Two
days
is all we have.
In Two
days,
all we be revealed.
...we are out on a limb, ...it's so exciting!!!
(Oh, God, please don't let me lose my ass
on this!)

Subject: re: Wrong on House Dems and Clinton
You are absolutely right with regards to your
assessment that House Dems missed a historic
opportunity by ditching national health care
and that it cost the Dems the upcoming election.
Of course, the problem was that they were worried
so much about that next election and the
pressure they were under from NFIB and other
business lobbies, that they forgot about the
two-year window they had to fix a central wrong
in our civil society. What a disappointment!
Then, you are rewarded for your observation by
a reader who uses the Democrats' unanimous
defense of Clinton after '94 as support of his
argument. Well, minorities have no choice but to
hang tough - it is the actions of the party when
in control that demonstrated their true colors.
Well, we read it in Ann Arbor - where the freshman
tryouts look like a Big 12 game.

Jeff Irwin
