"Lots of dead people. Lots of chaos. Being
shot at from
lots of different directions at the
same time."
-- General Peter Pace, Vietnam veteran,
describing war
Cheney’s
brief for war:
a mass of lies and historical falsifications
Excerpt:
Cheney resorts to a rhetorical trick, repeating
the phrase “there is no doubt,”
to obscure the fact that he is making bald
assertions without any factual substantiation.
What is beyond doubt is that there is no
proof of these charges—at least, none that
has been presented by the US government.
Question: Why can't we get any allies to agree with Cheney's "proof?"
What
to Do About the Media Mess
an editorial from consortiumnews.com
Excerpt:
The American people get a steady diet of
the Bush administration's political message.
So why is there so little TV time for Al
Gore -- who got the most votes in Election 2000
-- and other Democratic presidential contenders
to make their case to the public?
Yet, the man who got more votes in Election
2000, Al Gore, rarely gets to make his case directly
to the American people. Indeed, most of
what the public hears about Gore’s speeches is filtered
through the hostility and ridicule of cable-news
TV commentators and other pundits.
The answer is simple - the TV whores are being paid to lie.
They tell whatever lies will make their corporate masters more
money.
Bush by the Numbers, as Told by a Diligent Scorekeeper
Excerpt:
The statistics Knoller assembles produce
many revealing portraits of the Bush presidency:
Bush has spent a whopping total of 250 days
of his presidency at Camp David (123 days),
Kennebunkport (12) and his Texas ranch
(115). That means Bush has spent 42 percent
of his term so far at one of his three
leisure destinations.
The lazy bastard stole a job he's not even willing to show up
for.
Oh, God, what did we do to anger you so much?
Quotes
"America thinks it must control the world.
America thinks if it controls the oil
of the
Middle East then it will control the
world."

No, Saddam, that's just the Bush Family
Evil Empire.
Library Workers Say, "No Spying in Libraries!"
Excerpt:
The Progressive Librarians Guild (PLG)
has released a statement registering its opposition
to Terrorism and Information Prevention
Systems (TIPS), a proposed federal program
that would encourage Americans to spy on
their neighbors, clients, and co-workers.
"Cross
me, will you?
When
Halliburton's done with my
new
secret torture complex we'll have
a
special section for smart-ass Al Qaeda librarians.
When
my boys stick that cattle prod where the sun
don't
shine, we're going to "shush" you librarians.
I'll
teach you to question Homeland Security!"
Father insists Mohammed Atta is still alive
Excerpt:
The father of Mohammed Atta, the alleged
ringleader of the September 11 attacks,
said in an interview published yesterday
that his son was still alive.
"He is hiding in a secret place so as
not to be murdered by the US!
My son called me the day after the
attacks on September 12 at around midday.
We spoke for two minutes about this
and that."
You won't see this story in any American
newspapers because it doesn't fit the plans
King George the Lyin' Hearted has made
for building his Afghan pipeline and stealing Iraq's oil.
We're being led into a senseless war by
an oil-greedy thief.
Would you sacrifice your son or daughter
to make the B.F.E.E. even richer?
Subject: September 11 - the passenger lists
Excerpt:
...the BBC is reporting that the transcript
of a phone call made by Flight Attendant Madeline
Amy Sweeney to Boston air traffic controls
shows that the flight attendant gave the seat numbers
occupied by the hijackers, seat numbers
which were NOT the seats of the men the FBI claimed
were responsible for the hijacking!
Yes, not a single name on the US hijacker
list was on the official plane lists.
I believe that whatreallyhappened.com keeps
a link to the passenger lists.
Not only that but SEVEN of the NINETEEN
turned up somewhere else.
The US ambassador to Morocco had to apologize
publicly to one.
Again a thorough search of whatreallyhappened.com will turn up this information.
EWC
Meanwhile, the media and the Democrats sit back and watch the
fraud.
Oh, sure, if it was Clinton's zipper, it would be front page
news.
But it's only 3,000 dead in New York, so the media closes their
eyes
and the Democrats cower in fear, begging "Please,
Mr. Rove, don't hurt us!".
Chickenhawks
Crow for War
Of course, this is NOT from an American newspaper
Excerpt:
"We are being dragged toward war with Iraq by
such chickenhawks. The loudest voices
demanding war are those of men who once
upon a time quietly skipped out on the fun in Vietnam...
The poster boy for draft-dodging, to hear
the media tell it, has long been Bill Clinton. But Clinton
also organized anti-war protests in the
late 1960s, and years later, while running for office,
was thoroughly grilled by the media and
the public for his Vietnam-era conduct.
By contrast, the chickenhawks weaseled out
of Vietnam while loudly proclaiming their support for it;
they've never once been called to account
for doing so; and now, they want to send a new generation
of Americans into a Middle Eastern ground
war."
The double-standard is loud and clear.
If Clinton smoked pot, he's a bad man.
If Bush was caught with a lot of cocaine, it's all in
the past.
Clinton tried to stop a war, because he wanted fewer names
on the Vietnam Memorial.
Bush loved that war, but was "unable" to get over there and help
fight.
Clinton had contributors spend the night - Crime of the Century.
Bush does it, reporters never ask any questions about it.
The good puppy press loves their unelected president.
Quotes
"Should Republicans maintain or expand their
12-seat majority in the House and reverse
the Democrats' one-seat advantage in
the Senate, Bush can tap into fresh support for the
unrealized parts of his agenda, including
new tax cuts, partial privatization of Social Security,
school vouchers and federal support
for religious groups' social programs."
--Ken Fireman, 2002 Election Is Key
for Bush, newsday.com
Let's
Be Open About Our Detainees
by Helen Thomas
Excerpt:
"The appellate court said, "It is the
president who wields delicate, plenary and exclusive power . . .
as the sole organ of the federal government
in the field of international relations -- a power which
does not require as a basis for its exercise
an act of Congress."
That's a powerful conclusion giving the
administration free rein in such cases. It's one more example
of how some courts as well as Congress
and many U.S. allies have bent over backward to accommodate
Bush in his war on terrorism. But democracy
would be better served if America shows that even the
enemy can get a fair shake in its legal
system."
Ever since we've known Bush, he'd rather take a life than not.
Dim Son holds the western hemisphere
record for most state-sanctioned killings. Even during the debates,
he giggled when talking about executing
black men who didn't have adequate legal representation at their
trials. And when the debate was over,
the pundits fell all over themse;ves to say how "presidential"
the iggling fool was.
Plus, he never bothered to read the Parole Board reports, always
opting for a staffer to "just tell me the highlights."
Of course, to keep his job, the staffer would always say, "He
looks guilty, Sir."
Bush would always rather kill than whatever the alternative.
He's such a good Christian.
Was Hitler Dubya's grandpappy?
I saw a report on the web that Adolph Hitler once "dated" Prescott
Bush's wife.
Unconfirmed reports say George Herbert Herbert Bush might actually
be Hitler's son.
Of course, since we don't print unfounded rumors on bartcop.com,
this report will not be published until we can nail down the
definitive truth.

Quotes
"Wrapping myself in the flag and blindly following
the lead of a man who has never served
into the morass of an endless war is
not my way of loving and serving my country."
-- Korean War veteran Wilson
Powell, National Administrator of Veterans For Peace,
at
their convention in Duluth, August 15-18, 2002
That crazy Vic I work with?
He might be an illogical, senile Republican racist, but damn,
he can cook.
He brought lunch today - three-cheese chicken on top of sausage
mostachioli (sp?)
(served in a 8 x 12 x 4 corningware cooking container, it was
so big)
topped with Canadian bacon, chased with real Eli's Chicago
Cheesecake.
Eating where I work is like eating at a Vegas casino buffet.
I asked him how he does it and he answered,
"An Italian who can't cook is like a
nigger who can't dance."
He's such a racist pig, but he cooks better than Mom.

Bush runs out of credit
Excerpt:
The Democrats, of course, are terrified
that their patriotism will be impugned; that some nasty
old rightwinger like Bill O'Reilly of Fox
News will say horrid things about them. Someone needs
to tell the American people the truth:
that whether or not the Iraq policy is right, the government's
methods of making its case have been staggeringly
inept. Bush says he will "consult". But he is so
deeply committed rhetorically that he can
only pull back from here with extreme loss of face.
If Bush is faced with a choice between
starting an unnecessary war and looking an indecisive prat,
we can guess which way Bush will jump."
Sure, Bush will always choose the option with more death.
It's been his modus operandi for a decade.
Excerpt:
"Q: Did Florida officials faithfully execute
the state's election laws?
A: No. The New York Times and The Washington
Post discovered evidence that Florida's governor,
secretary of state, and speaker of the
House, all Republicans with close ties to George W. Bush, used
their offices to manipulate the election
controversy and secure Bush's victory. During the controversy,
they collaborated either directly or through
intermediaries with the legal and political advisers of George
W. Bush to: (1) put pressure on the state's
top law firms not to work for Gore; (2) bend the rules on
absentee ballots to allow improperly marked
absentee ballots to be counted; (3) block, stall or discredit
manual recounts; and (4) create fears of
a constitutional crisis so that the U.S. Supreme Court would intervene."
You mean that lazy bastard stole his way into power?
I'm shocked!
Quotes
"Any veteran has more moral authority
than the vice president of this country.
I'm not dying for oil and neither
is my kid."
--Barry Hanson, a veteran of Vietnam, president
of Veterans for Peace
It's up to you not to heed the call-up
'N' you must not act the way you were brought up
Who knows the reasons why you have grown up?
Who knows the plans or why they were drawn up?
All the young people down the ages
They gladly marched off to die
Proud city fathers used to watch them
Tears in their eyes
There is a rose that I want to live for
Although, God knows, I may not have met her
There is a dance an' I should be with her
There is a town - unlike any other
It's up to you not to hear the call-up
'N' you must not act the way you were brought up

Hi BC,
I love your website. You hit the republinazis hard, which is just what's needed.
I wish you could be on radio. When people
call up the radio stations which play Limbaugh,
all the idiot station managers claim "we like
him to be controversial, it gets ratings".
So? Why not have *you* on? You're
guaranteed to piss off ditto-monkeys
& other non-thinkers and generate high ratings.
I think BartCop Radio would rock!
It would be just like this page - mostly goofy crap with the occasional
perfect bulls eye!
You said you knew about the "pornolize.com"
website".
Are you also familiar with the (G-rated) website
"Mr. T'inator"?
You might enjoy it. Here's a link
to what bartcop.com looks like through the "Mr. T'inator".
I pity the fool that don't go to:
http://firefly.sparse.org/~mrt/cgi-bin/t.cgi?field=bartcop.com
You had asked readers for what they'd like to
see more of/less of.
Since I'm a female, I'd like to request equal
time for pix of cute guys. ;)
But, I have no pictures of 'cute guys.'
I really enjoy reading your opinions on news stories.
Don't ever stop swinging the hammer.
Thanks, I will continue.
Quotes
One Saudi royal told the AP that the
September 11 attacks were arranged by the Israelis
and the American government. Quote,
"Do you know how many Jews in the World Trade
Center didn't go to work in that day?"
he asked. No, but I know of at least one Saudi idiot
who hasn't gone to work a day in his
life and ought to know better than to blame America
or Israel for terrorist acts by Saudi
citizens."
--Paul Begala, Crossfire, 09/02/02
I had to read that one twice. Whenever I see the phrase
"that idiot never worked a day in his
life," I think about the stupid Bush boy.

Subject: Vegas Shennanigans
Dear B/C:
Did you hear the Vegas shennanigans on the Wisconsin/UNLV
game?
Badgers were giving four and HEAVY action by
Badger fans on the Badgers.
Lights go out in the fourth quarter with the
Badgers leading 27-7 and 52 mins into the game.
First Explanation was car hit light pole, then
found to be bogus.
Only the stadium lights went out.
Sports book rules are that games have to go 55
mins to be "official."
Lot of pissed of Badger fans/bettors. Vegas
strikes again.
Please investigate this when you are out there
for the Badger State.
Thanks,
Gary
Gary,
I'm not sure "Vegas strikes again," is accurate,
but if I hear anything I'll be sure and post the update.

So thanks very much for that."
