THANK YOU, PRESIDENT CLINTON
Many of us are absolutely FED UP with the relentless and ugly
attacks on President Clinton,
who still is our president, and will be until Al Gore is sworn
in. We are even sicker of the
outright lies that "they" are trying to drown him in.
I hope that Bill Clinton will be remembered
for these simple, apt words (his), spoken a few days ago:
"What really matters is our common humanity.
When we forget it, we suffer.
When we remember it, we prosper."
Many of us are going to mail out a thank-you card or note.
Fancy card, simple boxed card,
or handwritten note - each will do just fine. The
point is that, even if you're not crazy about
everything the president has ever done (much less been ACCUSED
of doing - I heard
yesterday he was responsible for the extinction of the dinosaurs),
those of us who stand by him
want to make CERTAIN he knows of the debt we owe him.
He gave us eight years of peace and prosperity, and he never
lost his sense of humanity and
concern for the downtrodden through all the prosperity we enjoyed.
We DO owe him.
We are sending out our cards on the same day, Friday (if possible
- if not, send one Saturday)
with the hopes of his being flooded with them at the same time.
If you support this idea, please pass it on to others.
Send one yourself and try to encourage at least one other person
to do the same.
If you have a child who would like to make a little card or write
a note,
be extravagant and send it in a separate envelope.
The more he gets, the better we'll all feel - especially if it
becomes known.
We are keeping a tally to get an idea of what our turnout is
when we join forces.
So if you are going to participate and send a card on Friday,
please send an email to tally-keeper Gina at: txbluebonnet38@hotmail.com
and tell her you sent the best presiudent we ever had a Thank
You card.
We want to send them all to the same address, so that there will
hopefully be a MOUND.
We've decided on his D.C. office, since Betty Currie is there
and will surely share in the enjoyment.
As soon as we know that several are in the mail, I'll call and
alert Betty.
