 Quotes

"It's a different kind of war than we're used to in America. It's a war that
requires patience and focus. It's a war in which we will hunt down those
who hate America one at a time."
    -- The elder Bush boy

But Governor, because of your insatiable greed and thirst for blood, America is hated by
Europe, the Middle-East, the far East, Africa, South America, Mexico and Canada.

Are you going to hunt down and kill everyone?

Man arrested for wearing 'Peace' shirt at mall

  Excerpt:
A lawyer was arrested late Monday and charged with trespassing at a public mall in New York
after refusing to take off a T-shirt advocating peace that he had just purchased at the mall.

Stephen Downs was wearing a T-shirt bearing the words "Give Peace A Chance" that he
had just purchased from a vendor inside the Crossgates Mall in Guilderland, New York.

Spawn of crooked judge got caught

  Excerpt:
She delayed an audit of Florida's pension fund at the request of Jeb Bush's chief of staff.
The delay ensured that the audit would not be completed until after the election, in which
 Bush won a second term.

She also had a gun in her office, raising questions about whether she was authorized to have it.

"I went down to Mississippi, met a man who had moved to Mississippi to
provide health care for some of our most neediest citizens."
   --Dubya, Washington, D.C., Mar. 4, 2003

 What Would Genghis Do?
by Maureen Dowd - She hates everybody, this time it's Rummy

  Click  Here

  Excerpt:
"Genghis Khan offered to raise the siege if he were given 1,000 cats and 10,000 swallows.
These were duly handed over. Material was tied to their tails, and this was set on fire.
The animals were released and fled home, setting the city ablaze, and in the ensuing
 confusion the city was stormed."

In her new book "The Mission," about America's growing dependence on the military to
manage world affairs, Dana Priest says that the Pentagon commissioned the study at a
time when Rummy did not yet have designs on the world.

Today's issue WAS funny as hell.
It was damn good, but just as I was beginning to post it, the computer
locked up again and when I rebooted it came back up with no f-ing page.

Nothing makes me crazier than losing nine hour's work. Hell, this issue might've
had 12 hours in it, it was so hueueuege, I could;ve made a bonus issue out of it..

To make it worse (it always gets worse) to manage the mail, I erase each letter
as soon as it gets put on the page, so if I promised you I'd run your letter today
it's gone forever - same for all the toons. The toons are in the giant mega-pile
with thousands of toons, so I'll never find what was there.

Path Not Taken May Haunt Bush
    by Joe Conason

  Click  Here

  Excerpt:
For those reasons and others, including the preservation of NATO and the U.N., it
is in America’s interest to show that our government honestly pursued solutions short
of war to the Iraqi problem. Every opportunity to prove our own sincerity has been
discarded rather arrogantly by the White House. Every proclamation that the President
really prefers to avoid war has been contradicted in the next breath by declarations that
Iraq has done nothing and can do nothing that would satisfy the Bush administration.

There was some hot story here

 Arrest Me
  by William Rivers Pitt

  Excerpt:
George W. Bush is out of control.

 I'll say it again.

George W. Bush is out of control.

I'm waiting for the black government cars to come squealing up in front of my house, for the thump
of leather on my stairs, for the sound of knuckles on my door, for the feel of steel braceleting my wrists,
for the smell of urine in some dank Federal holding cell as I listen to questions from men who no longer
feel the constricting boundaries of constitutional law abutting their duties.

When did they capture Khalid Shaikh Mohammed?

They say it was on March 1, but we'd been on "terra alert" for ten days prior to that.

        Damn, my back itches...

 Was 'mastermind' really captured?
Taliban says it has him   by Robert Fisk

And then, a Taliban "source" - this means the real Taliban but "source" is supposed to cover
the fact that the old Afghan regime still exists - claimed that Mohammed "is still with us and
in our protection and we challenge the United States to prove their claim."

By this stage, it looked like a case of the "whoops" school of journalism:
a good story that just might be totally untrue.

You see, I don’t have cute little kitties like the ones in Puss ‘n Boots.
I have cats from the Fifth Circle of Hell. I have Axis of Evil cats.
Osama Bin Laden fears my cats.

 We are the Invaders

This war with Iraq is very different than the last war in that we are not responding to a country
that has just invaded another country. Iraq has done nothing to provoke this war. The weapons
inspectors have found no weapons of mass destruction. Yet in spite of world opposition the
Bush administration insists on starting an unprovoked war.

We are the country who is in the wrong. It is us who are the aggressors. I can not express with
words the shame I feel to be an American today. I refuse to become the enemy of peace and I
will do everything in my power to resist the efforts of the Bush administration to change America
from a nation of peace to a nation of war. In the name of peace, liberty, justice, and freedom I
put the government on notice that there is a second front in this war and the People of America
have a duty to rize up against the Government of America in order to restore the values for
 which this country was founded.

 Marc Perkel
 San Francisco, CA.

 Quotes

"The first responders (to a terror attack) on the state and local level
have received no money. no training, no equipment and no direction.
   None. Zero."
-- Gary Hart, sounding more and more like a candidate

Yet, we're borrowing money to give Bush's super-rich friends a tax cut?

I had a VCR Alert to die for.

Tonight on HBO, Leonard vs Hearns from 1981.
Also, Kate Hudson and Jack Hanna on Dave (repeat)
Watch Dave hide with Kate when the animals come out.

Also, lots of stuff about last night's 24 (the bomb went off)
Plus, they gave us a new premier of  The Shield, which must've
been originally rejected for being "too dark, too violent."

Damn, ...that was good stuff, too.

 Bait and Switch
   by Gene Lyons

  Excerpt:
The Little King must have his dynastic holy war. Regardless of how cunningly Saddam Hussein
plays out his hand, how many missiles he destroys, or caches of abandoned nerve gas or anthrax
he digs up--mostly sold to him by the Reagan administration, in the person of Donald Rumsfeld,
of course--Bush cannot afford to take yes for an answer.

"We don't want people who just read the New York Times, we've got plenty of those types.
We want people who read and understand National Review, the Drudge Report and Lucianne.com."
