Richard Perle, top adviser to the deserter-in-chief, says in UPI article
http://www.newsmax.com/archives/articles/2001/11/20/202218.shtml
that the US should pressure Egypt to suppress the free speech of its Muslim preachers because
"Those prayers are a direct threat to the American people."
He laments that
"our normal predisposition is not to
be at war. The moment the
sense of danger is passed a democracy
tends to relax"
If that sense of danger were allowed to wither, it could become more
difficult for Dick Cheney's empire to conquer Iraq's oil fields.
The article's author reports --
"Following the pattern set in Afghanistan,
Perle advocated
strengthening internal resistance
to Saddam Hussein by
funding, equipping and training
the Kurdish factions in
the north and the Shi'a in the
south. If they are able to
seize those areas, they will also
have control of the
majority of Iraq's oil fields,
cutting Saddam Hussein off
from his primary source of funding."
