"When you strip it all away, Jerry Garcia destroyed his life on drugs.
And yet he's being honored, like some godlike figure. Our priorities are out of whack, folks."

Bush Family Babysitter Killed in Fairfax
How can a car suddenly be in gear?

  Excerpt::
A babysitter for the family of Marvin Bush was found dead Monday night outside the family's
Fairfax County home, and police said that she had been crushed when her car rolled into her,
pinning her between the vehicle and an outbuilding on the property.

The vehicle had been in gear, police said, and appeared to have rolled in her direction when
Champagne was in front of it.

  Excerpt:
"There's nothing good about drug use. We know it. It destroys individuals. It destroys families.
Drug use destroys societies. Drug use, some might say, is destroying this country. And we have
laws against selling drugs, pushing drugs, using drugs, importing drugs. And the laws are good
because we know what happens to people in societies and neighborhoods which become
consumed by them. And so if people are violating the law by doing drugs, they ought to be
accused and they ought to be convicted and they ought to be sent up."

And this includes zillionaire radio hosts? Hmmm....

"...too many whites are getting away with drug use. Too many whites are getting away with drug sales.
Too many whites are getting away with trafficking in this stuff. The answer to this disparity is not to start
letting people out of jail because we're not putting others in jail who are breaking the law.  The answer is to
go out and find the ones who are getting away with it, convict them and send them up the river, too."

Including zillionaire radio hosts? Well, maybe not.

I agree with the vulgar Pigboy - he deserves to die in prison.

It was the second victory for Philip Morris in its legal battles with the family of Jesse D. Williams,
who accused the company of concealing information about the dangers of smoking. Williams started
smoking in the Army in Korea, and later he smoked three packs of Marlboros a day.

After a jury in 1999 ordered the company to pay the Williams family $79.5 million in punitive damages,
the judge reduced the award to $32 million. A state appeals court reinstated the punitive damages award last year.

 Another Arnold Victim's Story
     by Jackson Thoreau

  Click  Here

  Excerpt:
She had nothing to do with the Davis campaign. As she wrote in her first email to me, she said she had
"been through emotional 'Hell' since the attack, including nightmares and fears I can't get rid of. I see that
liar's smile everywhere I look today. It may, somehow, help me to finally talk about the terror of being attacked,
and how it affected me and my life since. My speaking up will certainly wipe that big smile off his face."

The victim said that she did not pursue charges against Schwarzenegger because she simply wanted to
forget the attack. She didn’t think Schwarzenegger would come after her again, and she didn’t want to
complicate her life at the time. But she found the nightmares and Schwarzenegger’s smile have not gone away.
So she, like other victims, is willing to talk.

 Subject: Governor Gang Bang

Excuse me, but am I missing something here?
The RWNs are whining that the timing is bad for them.

Huh?  Isn't the issue about is he guilty?
Are they saying that it is OK that he is a sexual predator as long as it isn't reported during the election cycle?

Aren't these the same people that blasted Clinton for consensual sex that are now defending Schwarzenegger
for being a serial predator?  Are these people just pure HYPOCRITES?

The bottom line is Arnold admitted he has done this kind of thing and we are only debating how many,
not that he is a sexual predator.  Funny how the "conservatives" (neo-cons?) are now happy with a social liberal sex addict.

I'm convinced that's the main reason The Groper got in this mini-race.
Had this been a regular race with a year-long campaign, it's possible thousands of women
would come forward to say Musclehead sexuall assaulted them and he'd lose for sure.

By running a last minute, surprise campaign (and remember - he told his closest friend he would NOT run)
they get to scream "October Surprise" when his candidacy, itself, was a surprise.

Cali-fornia is getting hosed by the B.F.E.E..

 Hey Cali!
 You like $5000 heating bills?
Wait until the B.F.E.E. owns Sacramento.
Your roller coaster ride has not yet begun.
They're going to rape Cali-fornia to death, using "This is all Gray Davis's fault" as their cover.

Nobody listened to me just prior to the debate.
What somebody should've done is asked this question:

"Arnold, if you win, will you lead us to prosperity?  Or will things stay the same, or get worse,
and all we'll hear from you is a constant refrain of, 'This is all Gray Davis's fault.' "

That way, they'd have videotape of Arnold saying "I will not blame Gray Davis."
Then they'd have Musclehead in a box while Cali-fornia falls into the ocean?

 Timeline of the Diebold Case
Susceptibility to Election Tampering Revealed; Legal Battles Ensue

  Click  Here

  Excerpt:
On September 28, 2003 the Agonist published an exclusive, “Diebold Machines and Your Vote”
outlining the susceptibility of electronic voting machines to tampering and election fraud.

Here in Part 2, for the first time in print, the Agonist discloses in extensive detail the Diebold case timeline,
and the legal battles that ensued. The phases of this timeline are as follows: A) Diebold system becomes
available to outside scrutiny, B) Revealed: Diebold system is susceptible to election tampering, C) Computer
scientists demonstrate many critical vulnerabilities, D) Diebold CEO promises to “deliver electoral votes” to
Bush in 2004, E) Evidence that Diebold illegally tabulated votes before polls closed, and F) Diebold responds
with legal action to silence critics.

Will the Democrats stand by and allow the BFEE steal their third election in a row?

 Sidebar:
Does anyone know the real story behind Diebold "shutting down" blackboxvoting?
HOW did they get shut down?
 Was it a nasty letter?
 Was it a court order?
 Was it an implied threat?
Did blackboxvoting distribute their files to dozens of like-minded websites, as I would've done?

When the Laura Schlessinger spread-legged pictures hit the newsgroups in October of 1998, I took immediate
steps to ensure those pictures would be distributed so far and wide that they could never be boxed away, so to speak :)

 Did blackboxvoting take similar steps?
Did they arrange for a lot of mirror sites that would protect the info?
Or did they bottle up all this proof in one place, thus allowing someone to very easily clamp down that one site?
It's just a question - not an attack.

Job Growth in September Suggests "Turnaround" in the Job Market

A report released today shows that 57,000 new jobs were created in September,
"suggesting a turnaround" in the job market according to the Associated Press.

 That's not bad news.
We don't want America to die just so we can say, "We told you so."

 Bush has lost 3,000,000 jobs.
Getting 57,000 jobs back means he's got to do that 500 more times to break even.
There aren't 500 months between now and next November. He's screwed.

If people vote their pocket book, the Dems could win 40 states, but that's only if
they want to win. If they insist on losing, in they get on their knees and beg Team Bush
to kick them really hard and repeatedly in the balls, like they did in 2000 and 2002, they will.

  Roy's Tiger injuries 'severe'

Cautious optimism that first emerged late Friday night took a downward turn over the course of the day.
Horn's initial surgery at University Medical Center Trauma Center ended about 11:30 p.m. Friday.
A hospital source said Horn had to be resuscitated during that surgery, and that he suffered a stroke
and was returned to surgery about 9:30 a.m. to relieve severe pressure on his brain.

Mirage spokesman Alan Feldman aid there was some encouraging news that had begun in the afternoon
and continued into the evening. "Roy has been able to have some limited communication," he said.
He cautioned that the performer's condition was subject to change. "We take this hour by hour."

Siegfried & Roy Show likely won't go on
Employees of the show encouraged to look for other jobs

  Click  Here

  Excerpt:
Two days after illusionist Roy Horn was attacked by a white tiger, those involved with the show
are facing the very real possibility that, even if Horn recovers, the show might not.

If the show closes for good, it would mean the end of an era's most conspicuous symbol.
"Siegfried & Roy is the show really tied to the new Las Vegas," Curtis says. "The old Las Vegas
was basically about gambling and buffets and headliners. Siegfried & Roy brought the concept of
a production show, with spectacle, into the forefront. Things like Cirque du Soleil followed, and
the production show usurped the headliner."

The Mirage could, of course, be hurt by the loss of its attraction. Feldman could not give exact
statistics on how much the show earns for the hotel. "The business of this is so secondary, anyway.
We're all just praying that Roy will recover and be able to enjoy the best quality of life possible."
.

 Subject: Tiger bites Roy

 Bart, you wrote,

> They've meant a lot to Las Vegas - since 1970...Losing Roy would forever mark The Mirage, and it could
> change the whole town.  Don't want that.  It could also change the way we see animal acts. Don't want that, either."

I am no PETA adherent, Bartcop, but it serves this fellow right that he has finally had to pay a price for
exploiting animals "since 1970." Keeping who-knows-how-many magnificent animals in cages for years and years
so he and his partner can make the big bucks in Las Vegas entertaining slack-jawed yokels is grotesque in the extreme.

As far as I am concerned, "animal acts" are nothing but barbaric hold-overs from the bad old days, and that includes
circuses and Sea World and bullfighting and all  the rest. This isn't a "tragedy" or unfortunate in any way. Quite the contrary:
it is karma in spades for this clown Vegas showman. A richly-deserved heaping-helping of payback. Maybe Roy will see
the light and become a true champion of animals for the rest of his life.

Furthermore, I for one hope it very much "changes the way we see animal acts,"
and this sort of small-minded, stone-age stupidity is banned forever in the USA.

 David KB

Dave, you seem pretty quick to jump on a guy who is fighting for his life.
I don't know enough about this to have an intelligent opinion, but from what I know, nobody has ever
complained about the way S&R treated their animals.  Have you ever heard of PETA picketing The Mirage?

Doing one of those 90-miles-per-hour searches, I think I read there were only a handful of white tigers
30 years ago, and partly thanks to breeding efforts of S&R, there are now about 60 at The Mirage.
You think that's a bad thing?   Is being extinct preferable to living in luxury at The Mirage?

 Sidebar:
Jillian Barbieri (R-Cure, NotTooBright) just said, "It's shameful to put tutus on those animals and
make them walk the stage," but I've never seen those tigers dressed in costumes - have you?

Working with and performing with animals isn't, in itself, a bad thing.
Sure, S&R could live in boxes like David Blaine or make cars disappear like that fraud Copperfield,
but then millions of people who enjoy animals would never get to see the magnificent white tigers live.

Also, they say Roy's last spoken words were, "Don't kill the cat."
I doubt he was thinking of dollar signs when he forced those words out thru his bloody, punctured neck.

But early on in the encounter, Bryant became anxious that he wasn’t using a condom, afraid that he might
get the young woman pregnant, according to the sources close to Bryant. At some point, she started yelling
for him to stop—which he did, the sources say—but she kept crying hysterically and was insistent on leaving.
Bryant started to panic and tried to keep her from leaving until she calmed down, the sources say. He attempted
to put ice on her eyes, which were swollen with tears, and pleaded with her to stay and talk. But she insisted that
she had to go back to the concierge desk. Bryant asked her to return, and she told him she would. She never did.
The next thing he knew, the county sheriff was asking him to go to a local hospital and provide a DNA sample.

A friend of the accuser tells a different story. This friend, who requests anonymity, told NEWSWEEK she had
spoken with the accuser and the accuser’s ex-boyfriend, who appeared Saturday on CBS’s “48 Hours.”
According to the friend, [the accuser] was “attacked as soon as she [the accuser] walked through the door.”
There was “aggressive groping with no warning,” the friend says, “followed by sex.”

Subject: It's about the future, not the past

I think voters are focusing on Arnold Schwarzenegger's past when they should be focused on the future.
It would be a mistake if this election were decided on the basis of whether or not the voters believe that
Arnold groped women or praised Hitler or met with Enron executives during the blackouts. This election
is about the future of California - not about Arnold's past.

What the voters of California need to decide is - what will the future be like.
Who will be the best for the people of California?
Our future is at stake and I would urge all voters to think about the future and vote responsibly.

 Answers please, Mr Bush
Michael Moore has some simple questions for the Illegal Fraud

  Click  Here

  Excerpt:
1. Is it true that the Bin Ladens have had business relations with you
and your family off and on for the past 25 years?

2. What is the 'special relationship' between the Bushes and the Saudi royal family?

3. Who attacked the US on September 11 - a guy on dialysis from a cave in Afghanistan, or your friend, Saudi Arabia?

4. Why did you allow a private Saudi jet to fly around the US in the days after September 11 and pick up members
of the Bin Laden family and fly them out of the country without a proper investigation by the FBI?

5. Why are you protecting the Second Amendment rights of potential terrorists?

6. Were you aware that, while you were governor, the Taliban travelled to Texas to meet with your oil and gas company friends?

7. What exactly was that look on your face in the Florida classroom on the morning of September 11 when your chief of staff
told you, 'America is under attack'?

Of course, Bush cannot and will not ever answer these simple questions - he can't.  We can force Bill Clinton
to talk about his sex life under oath, but asking Bush to talk about his bungling that costs thousands of lives
not to mention a never-ending war and death and recession and the loss of our futures is "uncalled for."

but that excuse holds up poorly.

So does Arnold's increasingly incomprehensible answer to his growing legion of female accusers.
First he apologized; now he denies, and suggests that some of the women are lying. "A lot of these
are made-up stories," he told Tom Brokaw. "I never grabbed anyone and then pulled up their shirt

Rush made a valid point when he said that people who abuse these medications make it difficult
for people who really need them.  There are people with severe intractable pain that cannot function
without them, and there are cancer patients who need them for the brief period that they will still be around.

However, as usual his hypocrisy shines through, because he is one of those who makes it difficult for
those having a legitimate need for them.  My mom needed them before her death, and I would not have
wanted to see her denied them.  As far as I know, no physicians write scripts and no pharmacies issue
 these medications at Denny's.
