Why have I patience to endure all this?
~TITUS ANDRONICUS Act II, scene iii
I am getting angrier and angrier by the day, and at so many different
things.
Every time someone says President or Vice President "ELECT" it
makes my skin crawl.
I'm angry at some of my friends who are sticking their heads in the sand and refusing to even read about the details of the abuses and illegalities of this election because it offends their sensitive sensibilities.
I'm even pissed off at this stupid German version of NT I've been sometimes working on since it screws up the kewzboard ACK I mean KEYBOARD configuration (the 'Y' and the 'Z' keys are reversed, things aren't where they should be like the normal ' is on the back slash key, they have goofy -ok, kinda cool actually- symbols like: ÜÄÖü߀üµ§ - I really like the ß! ßßßßß and the §§§§§ ) ok, so I'm not that pissed off at the keyboard, but the Z & Y reverse thingie is verz annoying.
ANZWAZ, I mean ANYWAY.....
And now people are so pissed off they are even attacking our man Al. Saying he didn't fight hard enough, or that he didn't want it bad enough, or even to go as far as to suggest that he himself was involved in the BIG BUSH CONSPIRACY.
Help me!
Here's my take: Al has class and manners. He has grace and honor. He is a man of INTEGRITY. Period. Bush has none of the above. Clinton as well as most Democrats are also of the same school of thought. We've been instilled with the ideal that you should be 'kind to your neighbors', and 'do unto others as you'd have them do unto you' since we were young.
I was reading an article on THEDAILYBREW.COM about the Clinton interview with Dan Rather and it had some great points. When asked about his feelings regarding Tom Delay:
Tom DeLay, the Republican House whip who is known for his bare-knuckled
tactics in enforcing discipline within his party.
"My problem with him is his whole view about how you should treat your
opponents is very different from mine," Clinton said. "He's got a total
scorch-and-burn policy -- take them out, whatever the cost, whatever you
have to do."
Exactly. Al, as much as he wanted to rip the living skin off of GW during the debates, which I felt through every heavy sigh he let escape, he proved he was the bigger and BETTER man by not stooping to that level of infantile behavior. I am proud of him for that. VERY. Perhaps, because he doesn't have Clinton's charm and effervescence, he can't pull off the digs Clinton can while smiling to someone's face, and fight back in the same way. But he has fought back, and with more honor and dignity than GW can ever dream of having.
It’s a wonderful article….. http://www.thedailybrew.com/
Check this out:
So now, at the end of this long and arduous process that has finally resulted in Mr. Bush being appointed the President, it is perhaps inevitable that Mr. Gore finds himself in the unenviable position of facing criticism of his campaign.
Don't believe a word of it.
Al Gore ran a brilliant campaign.
How can you tell? It’s simple.
The best measure of a campaign is the votes, and Al Gore got more votes.
I repeat; Al Gore got more votes.
If you want to get really technical about it, Al Gore won. He won the popular vote both nationally and in Florida. And with Florida’s electoral votes, he won the Presidency. Granted, a dangerously partisan Supreme Court and a blatantly racist Florida election procedure stole the Florida electors, and thus the Presidency, from Mr. Gore. But Al Gore didn’t lose it. He had it stolen. There is a difference.
And then, after going over the many obstacles Gore faced, (read it) he closes with:
But despite all these disadvantages, Al Gore did what he had to do. He played to both sides of his party. He turned out his base in droves. He ran the electoral college table. And, in the end, he got more votes. Given all that, blaming Mr. Gore for losing the Presidency is like blaming a rape victim for the crime committed against them.
Brilliant.
I am sickened by Bush’s undeserved arrogance, and the endless drivel
he has been
spouting about what a ‘hard fight’ he had, but ‘eventually we won’.
Blah blah blah…..
Someone needs to teach this man humility. And to point out the he did NOT win. He was APPOINTED. He was NOT elected. He was APPOINTED. He got the keys to the Big House on a technicality. (Maybe someone should ask him if he liked to win his baseball games that way.) Because the more he puffs himself up, and fails to acknowledge the fact that he did NOT get the most votes, that in fact, Al Gore received over HALF A MILLION votes MORE – and that’s just the ones we know about – the more he is alienating not only the citizens of this country, but he is seriously jeopardizing what little foreign relations he might capable of.
What's funny is that GW comes from sooooo much wealth and privilege....
that family obviously didn't spend it in all the right places.
My Mother always said, "Manners cost you nothing, yet their price is
beyond compare."
Yeah, my Mom was one pretty smart Texan.
