Bart,
a few facts that you may or may not know about
the newly 'elected' President of Ukraine.
First, a word of advice from personal experience, never confuse Ukraine with Russia, you'll get hurt :)
Now, for the facts:
Fact 1: Bush Administration spent more
than $65 million in the past 2 years to help him.
"The Bush administration has spent more than $65 million in the past two years to aid political organizations in Ukraine, paying to bring opposition leader Viktor Yushchenko to meet U.S. leaders and helping to underwrite exit polls indicating he won last month's disputed runoff election."

Fact 2: Yushchenko's wife is a US citizen,
and worked for Reagan and Bush I
What many Westerners do not realize, however,
is when Mr. Yushchenko takes the seat of power, at his side will be a tough
minded, savvy American-raised businesswoman. His wife, Kateryna Chumachenko
Yushchenko, is the daughter of Ukrainian immigrants who grew up steeped
in the traditions of her ancestral homeland.
In the late 1980s and early 1990s she worked
in the human rights office of the U.S. State Department. She also worked
for the first President Bush in the Treasury Department.
