"In a way, Reagan was W's father. The macho
swagger, the studied anti-intellectualism,
the infatuation with military spending,
and the overriding concern for corporations and
the rich--all these Bush has inherited
from Reagan. And while Reagan consulted Nancy's
astrologer for advice, Bush does him
one better by consulting the Lord Himself. The only
difference is that Reagan knew how
to read his lines."

Excerpt:
Rush put out a statement yesterday that
he and his third wife, Marta, had separated.
Sources in Palm Beach say Marta dumped
the burly blowhard and vacated the couple's
mansion in Palm Beach The two are quietly
working out a divorce agreement.
Limbaugh met Marta on the Internet and they
married in 1994. Since then, Marta has seen
Limbaugh through ballooning weight gains,
deafness (a cochlear implant in 2002 restored much
his hearing), his heroin addiction, rehab
and a police investigation. Signs of trouble first came
last year in November when one pal of Limbaugh
said: "Marta didn't go visit him at rehab until
the very end. It was odd." Insiders say
there is probably a pre-nup, but Marta may get more
as she "knows where all of his skeletons
are. That's why there are these . . . discussions."
Pigboy has $300,000,000 and he still can't get a women to stay
with him.
Soon, he'll "be on" wife
four, and then she'll divorce him, too.
I think the gerbil stories are true and Marta was just his merkin.
Gee, with all the stress - his drug monkey, his possible arrest
and inprisonment,
his wife dumping his Nazi ass - I hope he doesn't attempt to
harm himself.

The document, obtained by USA TODAY, says
that soldiers and interrogators are not required
to give defense attorneys statements about
the "personal treatment of detainees" or any "failure to report
actions of others." It also says that refusing
to cooperate with defense attorneys "will not impact your career."
In other words, help the Illegal Monkey

The document "suggests that there is something

"It suggests that the default should be: Don't

Blair Handed Electoral Reeming Over Iraq
Excerpt:
Britons angry over Iraq have given Tony
Blair a drubbing in local elections,
relegating his ruling Labour Party to an
unprecedented third place.
"It's a bad night for us, but it's not meltdown,"
Blair's Home Secretary David Blunkett
said on Friday. "On Iraq, we are very clear
about that -- it has damaged us."
With nearly half the results counted, Labour
had lost a net 211 seats, closing in on the
overall loss of 400 or more which analysts
had projected as a benchmark of seriousness for Blair.
The BBC projected Labour's vote share at
just 26 percent.
Just think - if America had a free press,
if the American press weren't whores for
the Illegal President,
we'd see Bush's approval at 26 percent
- but our press is owned by Bush lovers.
Subject: Reagan
It seems to me (and I'm old enough to remember
this) that even
JFK's funeral didn't last this long - and
he was assassinated!
But the press whores are going to drag this
one out. They just know
that if they keep the cameras rolling,
and Tim Russert keeps reminding us
that Reagan once walked on water, and turned
water into wine at a state dinner
- they just know that eventually Reagan
is going to climb up out of that box!
Well - if he does - I know that his first
official act on this neocon Easter will be
to accept a speaking engagement to explain
this miracle - for a 5 million dollar fee.

Reagan: A Bogus Legacy
by Robery Parry of consortiumnews.com
Excerpt:
Yet absent from the media commentary was
the one fundamental debate that must be held before any
reasonable assessment can be made of Ronald
Reagan and his Presidency: How, why and when was
the Cold War "won"? If, for instance, the
United States was already on the verge of victory over a
foundering Soviet Union in the early-to-mid-1970s,
as some analysts believe, then Reagan's true
historic role may not have been "winning"
the Cold War, but helping to extend it.
If the Soviet Union was already in rapid
decline, rather than in the ascendancy that Reagan believed,
then the massive U.S. military build-up
in the 1980s was not decisive; it was excessive. The terrible
bloodshed in Central America and Africa,
including death squad activities by U.S. clients, was not
some necessary evil; it was a war crime
aided and abetted by the Reagan administration.
[Reagan's] unpleasant history was shunted

Reagan,
Hedgehogs and the November Election
by Arianna Huffington
Excerpt:
Reagan spoke of an America whose "heart
is full; her torch is still golden, her future bright...
She will carry on unafraid, unashamed and
unsurpassed. In this springtime of hope, some lights
seem eternal; America's is."
Bush spoke of an America threatened by "thousands
of dangerous killers now spread throughout
the world like ticking time bombs, set
to go off without warning," cautioning that "America must not
ignore the threat gathering against us
... We cannot wait for the final proof - the smoking gun - that
could come in the form of a mushroom cloud."
Which America would you rather live in?
Neither damn one.
I want to live in Clinton's America, where everyone who wanted

McCain Rejects Kerry's VP Overture?
Excerpt:
McCain has personally rejected John Kerry's
overtures to join the his ticket and
forge a bipartisan alliance against The
Monkey, the Associated Press has learned.
Kerry has asked McCain as recently as late
last month to consider becoming his running mate,
but McCain said he's not interested, said
a Democratic official who spoke on condition of anonymity
because Kerry has insisted that his deliberations
be kept private. A second official familiar with the
conversations confirmed the account, and
said the Arizona senator made it clear he won't change his mind.
Both officials said Kerry stopped short
of offering McCain the job, sparing himself an outright rejection
that would make his eventual running mate
look like a second choice.
Both camps say that didn't happen, but the AP is sticking with
their story.

The
Day the Constitution Died
by Molly Ivins
Excerpt:
"When, in the future, you find yourself wondering,
"Whatever happened to the Constitution?" you will
want to go back and look at June 8, 2004.
That was the day the attorney general of the United States
-- a.k.a. "the nation's top law enforcement
officer" -- refused to provide the Senate Judiciary Committee
with his department's memos concerning
torture.
In order to justify torture, these memos
declare that the president is bound by neither U.S. law nor
international treaties. We have put ourselves
on the same moral level as Saddam Hussein, the only
difference being quantity. Quite literally,
the president may as well wear a crown - forget that "no man is
above the law" jazz. We used to talk about
"the imperial presidency" under Nixon, but this is the real thing."

Early Abu Ghraib Reports Went Unheeded
Excerpt:
At least five soldiers objected last fall
to abuses they saw at the Abu Ghraib prison.
One demanded to be reassigned, saying the
behavior he witnessed there "made me sick to my stomach."
Up the chain of command, the noncommissioned
officers who heard such complaints did little to stop the
mistreatment, according to Army records
obtained by The Associated Press.
One of those same NCOs, Staff Sgt. Ivan
L. "Chip" Frederick, is accused of stomping on prisoners' toes
and punching another prisoner so hard in
the chest that he remarked, "I think I might have put him in cardiac arrest."
The investigation handjob
into beatings and humiliations at Abu Ghraib began in January, after one
soldier wrote
an anonymous letter to superior officers
about troubling photographs. That soldier, Spc. Joe Darby, came forward
later to talk to Army investigators and
eventually became known as the whistle-blower who uncovered the scandal.
That's why we shouldn't buy any of this, "Those

Bush: Saddam's Pistol Now U.S. Property
Excerpt:
"President Bush will give Iraq's new leaders
full sovereignty, billions in rebuilding aid
and the protection of 138,000 U.S. troops.
But it doesn't sound like they'll be getting
Saddam Hussein's pistol anytime soon. It's
U.S. property, Bush says."
Someone else pointed this out, but doesn't the fact that Saddam
was found with an
unloaded pistol prove he was captured by someone else, then handed
over to US forces?

Subject: Reagan on money
Bart,
I don't know why the repugs are diddling
around trying to put Reagan on the ten and twenty dollar bills.
They should get serious and replace the
stars on the flag with pictures of him. It'll be the "Reagans and Stripes"!
(Nancy can replace the eagle topping the
flagpole.)
Next, change the name of the country to
"United Reagans of America" or "United States of Reagan"
Either will do fine.
Of course, with his new deification by the
nazis the pledge should be corrected to include "Under Reagan"
instead of the misleading "Under God" phrase.
Accuracy is important, you know.

I'm sure you realize that it's not necessary

JM, I didn't know about the sister-in-law thing.

Army
Hired Interrogators for Iraq Despite Ban
They called "Rent a Torturer 4 Less" to fill crucials posts
Excerpt:
The Army hired private interrogators to
work in Iraq and Afghanistan despite their
policy of barring contractors from military
intelligence jobs such as interrogating prisoners.
A policy memo from December 2000 says letting
private workers gather military intelligence
would jeopardize national security.
An Army spokeswoman said senior commanders have
the authority to override the contractor
ban.
Some of the dozens of private contractors
hired to interrogate prisoners in Iraq and Afghanistan
are under investigation in connection with
abuses at the Abu Ghraib prison near Baghdad and
other prisons. Army investigators are looking
into whether the contracts were awarded properly.
We have about 130K military personnel over
there - and as many private contractors?
Remember - all this is off-the-books and
we won't know the size of the bill until the BFEE hands it
to the taxpayers. Think how much
they'd have to pay a guy to work in those conditions - and we're
paying for how many tens of thousands
of these guys?

In your view, it is the 12 year old French

No, I'm saying her face would still be intact

You are definitely right. It was "monkey"

You tell me about a problem, and I gave

You prove my point - you don't want
