"If any one ensnare another, putting a ban upon him, but he can not prove it,

Can anybody remember a more shameless and transparent dirty political trick like this swift boat scam?

Too bad we don't have a free press in America any more.  In years gone by (pre-Clinton) the press would've
jumped on these liars and exposed them and made their candidate drop by twenty points, but that won't happen
this time because the swift boat candidate owns the people who own the media.

 Bart,

I got a good look at the article "12 Myths Every Catholic Should be able to Answer" in your
"Drive-by-News" segment. I think Irony just OD'd on oxycontin, because it was written by Deal Hudson.

Yes,that's right. The very same Deal Hudson who boinked one of his students and had to resign

 Quotes

"This isn't a matter of accusing someone of exaggerating their influence on Love Story
or making fun of the way they look in an M-1 tank. There are huge, unresolved wounds here,
both from Vietnam and Democrats' lingering resentment over the way these smear tactics
have been used in the past. What's more, the Republicans' hideous, deceptive, and outright
fraudulent lies are stoking the fires of deep, irreconcilable hatred among conservatives.
Kerry is being depicted as some kind of hideous, Machiavellian monster who, knowing he would
someday run for President, inflicted a wound upon himself and forged documents to make him out
to be a war hero? About 45% of the U.S. population buys this depiction to a degree."

  Exerpt:
Tony Blair is refusing to fly to the United States to receive a medal bestowed on him
by the nation for his support over last year's Iraq war, a London newspaper reported today.
Bush has put huge pressure on Blair to pick up the Congressional Medal of Honour in person.

Mr Blair is immensely popular with large sections of the American public for his staunch support
of the Iraq war and the White House believes a visit by Blair now would provide a much-needed
boost to Mr Bush's re-election campaign, the weekly said.

..
    "I can't be trusted..."

  Excerpt:
Kerry's best moments in this saga have come when he challenged Bush's foreign and defense policies.
Kerry distinguished himself two years ago by criticizing Bush for not using U.S. troops to attack the
trapped al-Qaeda leadership at Tora Bora.

(Wesley Clark started that wave after Bush let Osama go to chase Saddam)

That sort of detailed, sophisticated critique has vanished from Kerry's repertoire. He hasn't had anything
of interest to say about the humiliating American retreat from Fallujah - or about the mystifying, flip-floppy
U.S. attitude toward the Shi'ite revolutionary Muqtada al-Sadr.    Kerry hasn't said whether he thinks Bush
was responsible for the torture at Abu Ghraib. He has mentioned÷but hasn't really exploited÷the growing
sense in the military and intelligence communities that the war has strengthened Islamist radicalism, overburdened
the U.S. military, and made it far more difficult to rally the world against the nuclear threats from North Korea and Iran.

Kerry does not have to be specific about what he would do in Iraq - but I suspect the public needs to hear,
in plain and forceful language, Kerry's opinion of what Bush has done and whether it has been good for America.

Randi Rhodes says Kerry is laying a spectacular trap.
She says all this flip-flopping stuff is Kerry's way to draw Smirk into asking about Iraq during their BIG debate.
By faking confusion and weakness, Kerry hopes to get Bush to attack when he's ready with a knockout punch.

Is Kerry tricking Dumbass into going "all in" on asking about the $87M vote, just to check raise him into a trip
back to his "ranch" in Crawford?   I wish I was as confident as Randi, who hasn't been wrong yet.
She says Kerry's going to put the big "F" on Kerry live in front of the whole nation.   ha ha
 Let's hope she's right.

Interest rates on 30-year mortgages fell again and stayed under 6% for a third straight week,
Freddie Mac said Thursday, remaining at their lowest averages since early April.

"Mortgage rates eased even further this week in response to a setback in economic growth
during June and possibly July," Frank Nothaft, Freddie Mac vice president and chief economist.
"We believe the slowdown to be temporary and we expect growth to pick back up in the second half of this year."

 They are lying.
The reason I printed that is because I couldn't find the story I was looking for.
In the dead tress version of Monday's USA Today, the headline is,

 Economists dial back growth forecasts

That headline pissed me off because it was never true.   Because USA Today (and every major media
outlet in America) has been screaming  "Good times are coming" all year, and now that good times
haven't arrived, they cover their tracks by saying "Expected good times fails to materialze,"
when good times were never expected.

Hold on, I just found the story they tried to hide.

Economic growth will be less robust than expected through 2004, while inflation will be higher, largely due

Not everyone is convinced inflation is transitory.

"Energy costs have been so high for so long that businesses aren't confident anymore that they'll fall or fall significantly,"
says Joel Naroff of Naroff Economic Advisors. "It's made them look toward trying to push through some smaller price increases."

 I have an idea...

Kerry could start each speech with,

"The Republicans want to make my war record an issue, because the president can't talk
about his war record because he chose to let others fight that war. And they can't talk about
the bungled economy or the quagmire in Iraq, they want you to forget about those two things.
So they try to ruin my reputation. If you're happy with the economy of the last four years and
the problems Bush created in the Middle East that made the entire world hate the United States,
then don't fall for Bush's distractions this time - vote your pocketboot this November."

 See how easy that is?

No multi-millions dollar promises, just some simple talk about the BIG picture.

 Quotes

"Three things that are forever pictured in my mind since that day over 30 years ago are:
 (1) The No. 3, 50-foot long, Swift boat getting huge, huge air; John Kerry thought it was about two feet.
 (He was farther away from it than I). I think it was at least four feet and probably closer to six feet;

 (2) All the boats turning left and letting loose at the same time like a deadly, choreographed dance and;
 (3) A few minutes later, John Kerry bending over his boat picking up one of the rangers that we were
ferrying from out of the water. All the time we were taking small arms fire from the beach; although
because of our fusillade into the jungle, I don't think it was very accurate, thank God. Anyone who doesn't
think that we were being fired upon must have been on a different river. The picture I have in my mind of
Kerry bending over from his boat picking some hapless guy out of the river while all hell was breaking
loose around us, is a picture based on fact and it cannot be disputed or changed. It's a piece of history
drawn in my mind that cannot be redrawn. Sorry, "Swift Boats Veterans"- that is the truth."

AP Lies About Tulsa Homeless Incident
Writer Clayton Bellamy wants the world to think Tulsa is at war.
Apparently with malice and forethought and for the purpose of
advancing his career, Bellamy lied in a story distributed worldwide
claiming there is "vigilante justice" against the homeless in Tulsa.

  Click  Here

  Excerpt:
Titled "Tulsa Killing Sparks Homeless Backlash" the story was carried by the AP
internationally August 17, 2004, but the headline is a lie. Further, the first paragraph reads,
"Anger over a homeless man's fatal beating of a brass-knuckle-wielding bar owner is
boiling over in Tulsa, where street people are facing a loosely organized campaign against
their presence - and in some cases are being run out of the area."

Bellamy wrote in an e-mail provided to www.TulsaToday.com,
"There were some things in the story that were mischaracterized." However, he did not
apparently admit the same to AP Editor Lindel Hudson who backed the veracity of the AP story.

Bellamy's reporting generated calls from national and international news organizations, seeking
information on a "War on the Homeless in Tulsa" that from all objective evidence never happened.

The Guardian called www.TulsaToday.com from London for more information and Broadway
Producer Sam Wagner called to offer transportation, a place to live, and a full-time job in the production
of "Prison Boyz" - he liked Badgewell's "bad boy look" in the photograph accompanying the AP story."

It looks like Clayton Bellamy, the liar who wrote the original fabricated story that m,ade worldwide news,
has been exposed as the opportunistic whore that he is. He tried to FOX News his way to the big time
but it seems he's been caught. Maybe he should go back to whatever his day job was.

Second, the killer has succeeded in murdering his way into show business?

 Can you believe this shit?

 Broadway's calling, Mr Badgewell.
He you just beaten you victim to within an inch of his life, you'd still be a mere homeless felon.
But since you stood on the dark street at night street and beat the back of an unconscious man's head in
until he was f-ing dead, we've got a slot for you in the champagne unit of our Broadway show.

If you're an aspiring actor whose career has stalled, murder someone, then to go hotprisonpals.com

So how did this story start?  D.A. Tim Harris immediately trotted out the idea of "vigilante justice" when the community
expressed outrage over his decision not to prosecute Terry Badgewell. But to date, no direct reprisals have been reported.
Shouldn't readers assume that if homeless people were being beaten or harassed that Harris would be parading down
Main Street with his "I Told You So" sign?

The facts are twisted further by Badgewell's attorney's attempts to characterize his client as "cordial" and "soft-spoken".

www.Bartcop.com recently reported: "Terry Badgewell has convictions for burglary, auto theft, running a roadblock and
eluding police. He has been arrested for receiving stolen property, disturbing the peace and domestic violence (seriously
biting his sister) and he apparently skipped Cherokee Country on those charges. The man he killed, with blows from behind,
had no record, yet the DA decided not to pursue the investigation."

 Subject: Debate on Vietnam

 Bart,

Sunday, on Meet the Press, a campaign officer of the Bush administration was asked several times
to add a debate on this issue, and the bastard just flossed over the question and did not answer.

Translation:  No, we will not debate the issue, indeed, when asked if the GOP has agreed to "3" debates
(not including one on Nam), the GOP staffer evaded answering the question.

Take:  We are not even going to get 3 debates, probably 2 at most, and of course, all pre-scripted.

Anyway, none of this matters, since the GOP now has control over nearly 30 million votes in touch screen
machines with no paper trail.  Considering that the majority of swing states in 2000 had vote differences in
the "few thousand range" I consider the election a done deal.  But no one is talking about this.

So, Congrats GOP!  You already have the election in the bag.  After November 1st, those of us with a
little intelligence (thank God) will realize that we will no longer be a Democracy, but a Facist regime.

 Subject: Reporters and treason

I think the point that's being overlooked here is that some "reporters" (Novak being the lead weasel)
COLLUDED in the treasonous exposing of critical secret information, thus colluding in destroying critical
intelligence operations and most likely causing the deaths of multiple agents around the world.

Under current law it's treason, and Novak participated in it.

He should be charged with treason, not fined for a failure to reveal sources.
 Jack Holloway

Jack, he'll certainly never be charged as long as the GOP runs everything.

New Overtime Law Vague on Reporters, but Could Be 'Nightmarish'

  Excerpt:
As the federal government prepares on Monday to implement new overtime rules that make it easier
for more employers to deny or limit overtime, the head of The Newspaper Guild is concerned that the
new policy, which is vague on how reporters are to be treated, will make their lives more stressful.

"I think the effect will be more pressure to work off the clock," said Linda Foley, president of the
Guild-CWA, which represents more than 35,000 members at more than 100 newspapers.
"I think you are going to end up with more litigation."

How can we feel sorry for the reporters who have to work overtime because they didn't do their jobs?
I didn't know this "screw the little guy" law was going into effect today - did you?

Subject: Sad day for working people

There are two kinds of people in the world, the corporate owners - and the slaves who work for them.

Starting Monday the slaves have to work harder and longer for less money because under new federal regulations
 - we lose our overtime pay. People work hard and need rest, time to spend with our families or relaxing in front of
the tube. It used to be that if we had to work extra - then at least we would get time and a half for it. Now that is gone.

The extra pay also had the advantage of creating new jobs. Because companies didn't want to pay a lot of extra money
 - they would hire more help. But now they don't have to. They can just work the slaves twice as long. We need to move
out from under the thumbs of our corporate oppressors who own the Whitehouse and take back the country for working
people. Register to vote - and let the revolution begin.

 Subject:  Your web site sucks

 Bartcop--

Yours is the most evil and racist website I have ever seen.
You beat up black people and slam Jews.
You can go to hell you prick.

You are ruining everything for us Democrats.
I'll bet you are a closet Republican and you love
the private vote so you can stick it to us Democrats.

 Up yours!

Sorry, this was the most intelligent Monkey Mail in the bunch today.

Computer Tyme Hosting is owned by Marc Perkel, who first put Bartcop on the Internet back in 1996 and keeps
Bartcop online today. Marc hosts several other political sites including American Politics Journal, Political Strikes
Faux News Channel, and interesting sites like the Church of Reality - a religion based on believing in everything that is real.

Our motto for this year is - "No Anti-Bush Site Left Behind". So - if you have an anti-bush site and you are
choking on hosting fees or dealing with threats - let us know and we'll help keep you online.

We also have that strongest server side spam filtering on the planet.
