Bush's
Troubling FDR 'Apology'
by Robert Parry at consortiumnews.com
Excerpt:
Bush's V-E Day speech on May 7 contained
a dangerous and deceitful subtext that nearly
everyone in the ever-clueless U.S. news media missed
as they fell over themselves to praise
the president's performance on his European
trip.
Bush's troubling message was that the only
real U.S. mistake in the Cold War was not to
aggressively challenge the Soviet Union right after
the defeat of Germany, even if that meant
vastly more bloodshed. Bush also expressed no regret
for some of the most egregious U.S.
actions in the Cold War, such as complicity in
genocide in Guatemala, state terrorism in Chile
or the fearsome death toll in the Vietnam War.
By his silence on those points, Bush suggested
that he saw nothing wrong in the Cold War's
most brutal anticommunist strategies, except that
they weren't ruthless enough. If Bush could go
back in time, he would have been an ally of Gen.
Curtis LeMay and other hard-line anticommunists
who favored crushing the Soviet Union at all costs,
including the risk of nuclear war.

Subject: Dave Chappelle - Chris
Rock and Richard Pryor
Bart,
I agree with Michael.
And the fact that Richard Pryor isn't still getting
up on stage doesn't mean he isn't working.
You can listen to Richard Pryor from "That Nigger's
Crazy" 1974, and the man is just as relevant today.
Richard Pryor is timeless and Chris Rock would
agree.
I hope Dave Chappelle can pull it together and
get back up on stage to make us laugh.
But there will never be another one as good as
Richard Pryor.
He is a living national treasure.
Trudy
www.richardpryor.com
Trudy, I agree.
Richard is the God of all comedy.
His face is alone on Comedy Mt. Rushmore.
Without Richard, comics would still be doing "My
wife's cooking is so bad..." jokes.
Richard was, is, and will always be, The King.
What I meant was, of all the up-and-coming young pups, I think
Chris Rock is tops
and Dave Chappelle is right behind him ...and there are some good white
guys, too :).

Reports that Bush and the Blair poodle agreed

appear to have blown over quickly in Britain. But
in the United States, where the
BFEE was protected for weeks, there has been growing
indignation among Bush critics
who say the two made a secret decision to oust
Saddam nearly a year before launching
their attack, shaped intelligence to that aim and
never seriously intended to avert the war.
The picture that emerges from the documents is
of a British government convinced of the

As far as helping the children, that's what "worthless

I support them, I assume you follow Rush's lead

Tell me - what
if there was a law in
America that for you, Robb, in order to change jobs,
you would have to obtain written permission from
a woman to make that happen?
I'll bet your reaction would be "Fuck
that - I don't need some bitch's permission

wrong with those uppity bitches?"
Men have no right to tell women what to do with
their bodies, especially men who are
religiously insane, trying to please other religiously-insane
people or some non-existent God.
Since you were born with a penis (probably) you
think you're King Shit.
How do you think women feel - always having to

That's what this is about.

Torture/abuse at Gitmo causes Afghan riots

Excerpt:
Kinda Sleazy Rice urged Muslims around the world
to resist calls for violence from
people outraged by a report that interrogators
at Gitmo had desecrated the Koran.
American torturers at Gitmo reportedly put Korans
in toilets and in at least one case flushed
the holy book away, triggering violent demonstrations
in Afghanistan, where seven people have
died in related violence. The Pakistani government
has also formally protested.
"I am asking that all our friends around the world reject
to violence because America is the only
country that has a right to use violence on helpless
countries," she mocked with a smirk and a giggle
"I want to speak directly to Muslims in America and
throughout the world. Disrespect for the
Holy Koran is not now, nor has it ever been, nor
will it ever be tolerated by the United States,"
she lied. "Just like we'd never fake our reasons
to invade a helpless, third-world country."
Rice said the allegations about desecration of
the Koran were being investigated by military
authorities and "if they are proven true, we will
take appropriate action."
What, you going to charge Lynndie England with
this, too?
We've seen what happens when the BFEE investigates
itself.

Bart,
This cartoon reminds me of something I read in
Eric Alterman's book "The Book on Bush"
(which is 100% excellent - I recommend it to everyone)
When the insurgents were increasing there attacks
on the US, either Bush or one of his other goons said:
"You see, the more we succeed in Iraq, the more desparate
they become, and the more they attack us."
So Eric points out, by that logic, if the insurgents
killed every US soldier and Iraqi citizen,
the mission could be declared a complete success!
Thanks

McClellan:
No Need to Notify Bush
Besides, the real president had things under control
Excerpt:
On the day after more than 30,000 people -- including
Unka Dick and Pickles -- were evacuated
from their offices or homes in Washington, D.C.,
but the president, who was tricycling in Maryland
was not notified until the threat passed, reporters
grilled Press Secretary Scott McClellan at his daily briefing.
For those who might have missed it on TV here
are some choice excerpts, as McClellan continually refers
to "protocols" and reporters essentially ask, "Wouldn't
most men like to know when their home is
evacuated and their wife is hustled to a secure
bunker?" They also wonder about the small
matter
of the president being commander in chief and the
capital, theoretically, coming under attack.
I'm not sure what the fuss is about.
There must be thousands of people who are able to read "My Pet Goat" in
an emergency.
Why would they want the Panic Money there, screaming, "Save
me, save me!"?

Subject: Bush not told of danger
Dear Bart:
Funny how planes were dispatched to intercept
that plane almost instantly even though
Bush was uninformed. Their cover story for
why they waited over an hour to dispatch planes
to intercept the hijacked planes on 9-11 was that
only Bush could order the interception and
he was reluctant to order the military to shoot
down commercial passenger planes.
Bush, Cheney, Meyers and Rumsfeld all told lies
intended to make us think that intercepting
a plane meant shooting it down. This pattern
of disception is compelling proof of guilty knowledge.
Check out the articles about 9-11 by the folks

The show leapt to life with Marker's sneering opening

part Betty Grable and part Chrissie Hynde.
Four plasma video screens and a giant LED screen
behind the band played repetitive images,
such as flashing hot-button words like "slut" and "stud" during "Sex
Is Not the Enemy,"
Garbage's defiant response to the Bush's New
Puritanism.
By the time Garbage hit the fourth song, the crowd
favorite "Stupid Girl," the show was in high gear

Manson happily strides in her red high heels along
the line between diva and rocker, exuding the charisma
of the former and the raw authenticity of the latter.
