Comparing Clinton's misbehavior to a destructive and costly war occupation

 Bush's Dangerous Wishful Thinking
    by Nat Parry at  consortiumnews.com

  Click  Here

  Excerpt:
Can the U.S. political system wean itself from an addiction to this poisonous brew of swagger and delusion?

The continued absence of a vigorous U.S. debate about the war is especially remarkable considering the recent
publication of a British government memo revealing that Bush had made up his mind to invade Iraq in July 2002,
contradicting longtime White House claims that Bush was then pursuing a diplomatic solution in good faith.

While this memo was explosive in Britain, it has received only modest attention in the United States.
The administration brushed it aside with bland denials and major U.S. news outlets treated it like old news.

 US soldier beaten at Gitmo?
He says yes, Army says no

  Click  Here

  Excerpt:
"They grabbed my arms, my legs, twisted me up and unfortunately one of them got up
on my back from behind and put pressure down on me while I was face down," said Baker.
"Then he began to choke me and press my head down against the steel floor. Ut seemed like
an eternity because I couldn't breath. When I couldn't breath, I began to panic and I gave
the code word I was supposed to give to stop the exercise, which was 'red.'"

But, Baker says, the beating didn't stop. "He slammed my head against the floor and
 continued to choke me," he said. "I muttered out, 'I'm a U.S. soldier, I'm a U.S. soldier.'"

Baker says when the soldiers noticed what Baker was wearing, they stopped.
"He saw that I had BDU's and boots on."

Hmmm, it sounds like the soldiers were trained to turture the suspects, and now
this soldier has brain damage from this "training exercise?"

"Let's not forget Bush's "whoever harbours a terrorist is a terrorist himself" proclamation.
How embarrassing that should be in light of our current harboring of Luis Posada Carriles,
implicated in the deaths of 73 passengers on a Cuban airliner in 1976.    But it's not!
How does our president reconcile that? In his twisted reality, easily I suppose.
Something like, "It wasn't terrorism. The victims were Cubans."

 Bart, you wrote,

> "In Hawaii, $200,000 buys you a 800 sq ft wooden home that's old and creaky."

 WHERE?!?!?!?
You show me where that is, and I'll buy it!

Are you nutz? Or are you just giving us islanders a hard time?
We pay less for rent than California, but to buy is a whole other story.

After moving here from Mexico we are in dollar-shock, but at least we're still in paradise....

Michelle, I didn't appraise those homes.

As Casualties Mount, Bush Ignores Reality
   by Joe Conason

  Click  Here

  Excerpt:
Both Bush and Cheney evidently believe their own uplifting rhetoric and brusque
dismissals of criticism. They won't let reality-based analysis intrude on their faith-based perspective.

At his latest press conference, Bush said he thinks the new Iraqi government "will be up to
the task of defeating the insurgents." He harked back to the elections and said he was "heartened"
to learn that there are now "40,000 Iraqi troops" sufficiently well trained to protect Baghdad.
(In fact, our own commanders place little credence in that encouraging statistic.) To Bush,
every devastating attack merely serves as further proof that the insurgents are "desperate."

Cheney takes the same optimistic approach, explaining that in his estimation, bad news is
really good news. He told Larry King that he perceives "major progress" in Iraq, where
"they're in the last throes, if you will, of the insurgency." He didn't seem to realize that he
contradicted that remark when he then predicted that the war might conclude before 2009,
the end of the President's second term, although his general assessment remained vague.
"I think we may well have some kind of presence there over a period of time," he said.

"One lesson we learned from the Nixon and Bill Clinton eras is that it is both difficult
and painful to check a President, especially one abusing the Justice Department,"
they said.  More than 30 Republican were convicted in Watergate,  while the
NY Whore Times's Whitewater charade resulted in exonerations of the Clintons.

But now that they know his name, his actions become "traitorous."
And isn't it funny hearing faux outrage from such criminals as Colson, Liddy and Novak?

 A convenient furor
  by Gene Lyons,

  Excerpt:
Two things need to be said about Newsweek's error. (Disclosure: I once worked for the magazine
and have friends there, none involved in this incident.) First, Scott McClellan's attempt to blame Newsweek
for deaths in the Afghan riots reeks of hypocrisy. No less an authority than Gen. Richard Myers insisted that
the disturbances stemmed from local politics, not the alleged desecration of the Muslim holy book at a faraway prison.
Of course, that was before Isikoff's source recanted, so Myers may have been in CYA mode.

Second, Myers had to suspect that the Newsweek story might be accurate. Allegations by former prisoners
that U.S. Army interrogators at Guantanamo abused the Koran have been published in The Washington Post,
The New York Times, The Philadelphia Inquirer and several European newspapers. They've appeared in
lawsuits filed in the U.S. and Britain.

Given that Army reports document female interrogators parading halfnaked in front of detainees, couching them
provocatively, even smearing fake menstrual blood on their faces in grotesque attempts to exploit fears of ritual
impurity, mistreatment of the Koran seems quite likely. Indeed, the only news value in Newsweek's brief item
was its seeming confirmation of an old tale.

Why don't the Democrates talk about Pickles's past?

It is true if Hillary had run into her boyfriend's jeep and killing him
the RIGHT WINGERS would never stop talking about it.
 BN

BN, I suggested a cure for this long ago:
The Dems agree not to mention Pickles's killing him unless the GOP hate-bastards bring up
Chappaquiddick, which they mention about once a day.  So every time they mention Teddy,
we remind voters that Pickles is a killer who was never investigated AND, if I'm not mistaken,
Pickles was not even tested for alcohol after killing her boyfriend while behind the wheel.

  Excerpt:
Nine Inch Nails dropped out of the MTV Movie Awards after clashing with the
network over an image of Bush the band planned as a performance backdrop.
The Bush image was to accompany a song which criticizes Bush's bloody war.

MTV said they were "uncomfortable with the band's criticism of our Godly Fuhrer
because he's too great a person to be criticized by sympathizers of Al Qaeda."

Trent Reznor said in a statement posted on the band's Web site that the image of
the president would have been unaltered and "straightforward."

"Apparently, the image of our president is as offensive to MTV as it is to me," he said.

 Suck on that, MTV.

Bartcop, you can try and convince retards like Jim, Doug, and Tara all you want.
The fact is, your side hates the military.

I wish that statement was less true, but the fact is - you're right..
It makes no sense - hating those who keep you safe.

You aren't smart enough to be consistent with your idiotic politics and come to the
same conclusion that the rest of the losers in the Democrat Party came to long ago.

Oh I'm plenty smart enough to be consistent on this subject.
I was pro-military before this page started in 1996.
Your ignorance has you stepping in dog shit again.

I think you are coming around - little hints of it pop up now and then,
like the joy you have when you add another body to your daily counter.
Soon you will be spitting on them just like the rest of your loser co-politicos.

Are you as good at predicting the future as you are the past?  (snicker)

There's a reason that the soldiers trust the GOP

You mean trust them to get 1668 men killed for lies that made the liar super-rich?

They know that beneath this fake, new found love for them, people like you
"loathe the military," just like your buddy Slick Willy.

Democrats wanted fewer dead in Veitnam and we want fewer dead in Iraq.
Your side loves bloody quagmires and big body counts - why is that?

Y'all might as well drop the act.  Nobody's buying it.
 Have a nice day,

Clinton never sent a man into battle who didn't come home.
Bush is averaging four deaths a day lately - so why do soldiers love him so much?

 Subject: military

 Bart,

Given what his Tillman's parents have recently said about Bush, I think everything
you have said about Tillman is 100% right (as are most things you write.)

For a military to effectively operate, the soldiers must be "brain-washed."
An army where soldiers question every order could put all those soldiers in danger.
The soldiers must act as a unit or all chaos will result. We unfortunately still need
a good effective military as long as humans are humans.

This is why this illegal war is the supreme crime.  Bush has taken advantage
of the earnest but brainwashed soldiers for his own fun and profit.

I have sympathy for these soldiers who many eventually wake up from
their brain-washing and see that they killed for no good reason.
That their friends were killed for no good reason.
That they lost limbs for no good reason.

Tillman's family has woken up, how may people
with severe mental distress will result from this war?
