Former officers: Bush's lack of action has jeopardized national security

Excerpt:
"I wouldn't be here this morning if President
Bush had done the one thing required of him
as commander in chief _ protect and defend the
Constitution," said Larry Johnson, a former
CIA analyst. "The minute that Valerie Plame's identity
was outed, he should have delivered
a strict and strong message to his employees."
Patrick Lang, a retired Army colonel and
defense intelligence officer, said Bush's silence sends
a bad signal to foreigners who might be thinking
of cooperating with the U.S. on intelligence matters.
"This says to them that if you decide to cooperate,
someone will give you up, so you don't do it,"
Lang said. "They are not going to trust you in
any way."
Johnson, who said he is a registered Republican,
said he wished a GOP lawmaker would have
the courage to stand up and "call the ugly dog
the ugly dog."
"Where are these men and women with any integrity
to speak out against this?" Johnson asked.
"I expect better behavior out of Republicans."

Why in hell he didn't fight back is beyond

This is probably a trick by the GOP.
More than he wants Roberts confirmed, they want to scream, "Obstructionists!" at
the Democrats.
To make this happen, they're going to hide as much of Roberts' papers
like there's a smoking gun there.
Seems to me, the fact that he will want to strip women of their
rights is "smoking gun" enough.

Return
of the Academic Witch Hunts
Excerpt:
Under the innocent-sounding name "Academic
Bill of Rights," a gaggle of right-wing "culture warriors"
in the Republican-led Pennsylvania House recently
passed HR 177, a resolution authorizing them to
invade public colleges and universities armed with
subpoenas to grill faculty on curricula, reading lists,
exams, homework assignments, grading and teaching
styles, and to take testimony from students,
allegedly to determine whether their professors
are fair or "biased." The underlying assumption of the
resolution--part of a nationwide campaign spearheaded
by one-time SDS lefty and now rabid right-wing
activist David Horowitz--is that America's colleges
and universities have been overrun by leftist fanatics
intent on banishing conservative ideas and punishing
conservative or Christian students who dare to speak out."
They're doing this because in the past when they acted out, the
Dems did nothing.
They stood there like statues and said, "It's
not that serious - no need to raise our voices..."
Evil sons of bitches will commit atrocities until they're forced
to stop.

Subject: grown man cry
I was in Charlotte, NC this past weekend
enjoying some tasty beverages on karaoke night.
After the gay man finished "I Will Always
Love You", this country.military guy stood in front of the mic.
He said he only has 3 more days until he's re-re-deployed. You
could see the angst on his face,
then he went into some country song. He was
no doubt a republican and voted for the monkey,
but he couldn't finish his song.
As he bee-lined for the bar, I met him,
shook his hand, and said thanks for all he was about to do.
He went on to tell me that he was 40 year old sniper
for the US Marines. I offered to buy him a drink.
He said he was in Desert Storm, but this war is
bs, and he felt like a disgrace to the human race.
He had taken lives and seen lives taken, but he
didn't know why.
I was the only black man in a bar that was
full of red in more ways than one. No one clapped for him,
no one acknowledge he was there. All he wanted
was some support. Not the support of Bush, not the
support that keeps gays from being 'married', not
support from crazed bible beaters, but for a fellow
American to say "thanks and we don't blame you". I
cut this guy off before he could begin to cry,
because I could see it in his eyes and you could
began to see it in mine.
So Bart, if you ever wanna make a grown
man cry vote a monkey into power so that he can send that
Alpha-male back to the hell that is 'war' (wherever
it may be). We can count the number of causalities,
the number of the wounded, but we can measure nor
count the amount of damage that this is doing to
our surviving soldiers and the families that loves
them.
God bless the USA but "F" Bush and the sheep

The colour white reflects more heat than
the other colours; blue, grey, brown or green for example.
The fact that ice once covered the Arctic helped
to keep things cold. Heat from sunlight would be
reflected away from the land, back into the atmosphere.
Things are changing though. With the global
rise in temperatures, more ice is melting. Melted
ice leaves coloured earth behind, be it blue water,
grey stone, brown dirt, or green lichen. This
exposed earth reflects much less sunlight and therefore
holds much more heat than ice would. As a result,
the surface temperature rises and melts more ice,
which exposes more earth and holds even more heat.
Rinse and repeat.

Morrisseau said he will be bringing articles of
impeachment against Bush.
He will most likely face Martha Rainville

candidates who might get themselves placed on the
ballot between now and then.
Morrisseau said he considers himself more

"This leadership isn't very Republican and I don't
think it's very popular with Vermont Republicans," he said.
"Republicans in this state tend to be mind-your-own-business
