"His ego is getting people killed and mutilated for no reason -- just his ego and his reputation.
If we really wanted to, we could pull out of Iraq. Maybe not completely but enough that we
wouldn't be losing people -- at least not at this rate. So I think he himself is responsible for
quite a few American deaths. It seems like they have unlimited amounts of ammunition.
So I don't think it's ever gonna end."

 What Rove Told Bush
   Monkey a target of investigation?

  Link

  Excerpt:
What did Bush know of Rove's crimes and when was he told?
Scotty the Liar was so adamant in his denials in September 2003 that he told reporters
the president knew that Rove wasn't involved in the leak.

"How does he know that?" a reporter asked, referring to the president.

"I'm not going to get into conversations that the president has with advisers or staff," McClellan replied.

Whether Rove shaded the truth with Bush two years ago is a potential political problem.
Asked whether it wants to retract its earlier denials, the White House refuses to comment.

The question is - how would Bush look in a dirty prison jumpsuit and will the
prison bullies brag that they had sex with a former (if unelected) president?

 Cindy Sheehan draws international attention

  Link

  Excerpt:
Sheehan has become an international cause célbre for demanding to meet with Bush during his monthlong vacation.
Sheehan has said she wants to ask the president why her son died in Iraq in a war she believes is built on lies.
She also wants to ask the president to end the occupation and bring home the troops.

Sheehan has vowed to stay near the president's compound for the duration of the month until she meets with Bush.

Subject: Trent Fry, war supporter (last issue)

Dear Bartcop:

I’m tired of supposed veterandos and supporters of the Iraq war who are tired of hearing from a mother whose son
lost his life in Bush’s oil war. Why won’t any of these outright f’in cowards enlist and volunteer for Iraq duty?
The military is taking people in their 50s if they have skill and up to 42 if they don’t have skills.
Heck, I’ve heard of guys up to 70 with medical/dental skills.

The fact of the matter is that Iraq war supporters are far too cowardly to fight and they are in fact
too cowardly to hear out a dissenting opinion.
The neo-cons are all cowards.

E.L.

EL, I agree.

When liberals want a safety net for the poorest and disabled Americans, the GOP says,
"If you want to pay more taxes, then do that, but leave me out of it."

If the Democrats wanted to win in 2006 (should I even finish this sentence?) they'd say,
"If you want to go to Iraq and get killed, then do that, but leave me out of it." .

...but they're content to be meek, little doves and give up their power and their seats in congress.

bartcop.com  could give the Democrats valuable ammunition - if they wanted to win.

 Hillary's Challenger took mob cash

  Link

  Excerpt:
Jeanine Pirro declared "I have taken on the mob" when she announced her run
against Hillary this week, but she could have said "I have taken from the mob."

The Westchester District Attorney pocketed nearly $12,000 in campaign checks from firms
and associates with alleged links to organized crime, the Daily News has found.

Campaign records shows at least six donors with ties to mob families who've contributed
to Pirro since 2003. That casts a shadow on Pirro, who's basing her run against Hillary Clinton
in part on her reputation as a tough prosecutor.

I'll have lots to say about "Nancy Grace Junior" in BCR 80 - out soon.

Subject: the UN did its job (published on Philly.com)

The Aug. 6 letter "Bolton right for job" says that his recess appointment as ambassador to the United Nations is good
because the organization is corrupt and ineffectual and that the writer "can't remember the last time it was useful in
actually doing something, except for UNICEF."

He evidently has forgotten that it was the United Nations that had a complete force of inspectors on the ground in Iraq,
doing its job competently for four full months seeking evidence of weapons of mass destruction before President Bush
invaded that country. The United Nations reported continually during those months that no such weapons existed.
Had Bush respected the truth, almost 2,000 American soldiers would still be alive.

To my mind, that meets the definition of doing something useful.

moving to a free country is a distinct possibility.

Cindy - A Voice Crying in the Wilderness

by former senator Gary Hart

  Link

  Excerpt:
If democracy only works when there is open discussion of opposing ideas and policies, and if the opposition party,
in this case the Democrats, has hand-cuffed, blind-folded, gagged, and hog-tied itself to a failed invasion and
occupation in the Middle East, where will the expanding majority of Americans look for a representative,
a spokesperson, a voice for their anger, frustration, and distrust at being misled?

The circumstances suggest it should be a Senate or House Democratic leader, a recognized authority on foreign policy
constantly seen on the Sunday talk shows, certainly one of the many “leaders” lining up to seek the Democratic Party’s
nomination for president in 2008.

Strangely, no one in any of those categories comes to mind. Their voices are silent. Thus, both they and the party they
claim or presume to represent look dumbstruck, awkward, pitiful, and timid. Where the single greatest issue of the day,
and one of the most potent issues of our time, is concerned, there is no courageous opposition.

Has Gary Hart been reading  bartcop.com?
"Hand-cuffed, blind-folded, gagged, and hog-tied Democrats," is just a nicer way of asking,
"Why can't the pink-tutu Democrats summon the courage to do their damn jobs?"

We are not making this up. You might think that they could come up with a more tasteful way
to reflect on 9/11. And you might think that the Bush administration would be able to refrain,
just this once, from linking his war in Iraq to 9/11. You'd be wrong on both counts."

"Bush is our greatest president..."

Subject: Cindy doing the job of the whore press

Bartcop,

A woman is willing to sit in a fire ant infested ditch in blazing sun to get a chance at asking the chimp some questions.
I am sure if she ever gets that chance she will not waste the moment by asking questions such as, "Do you pray often,
Mr. President. Does the support of the American people comfort you, Mr. President.?" or any of the other crap questions
he has been lobbed by the media over the last five years.

My question to the media is, does it embarrass the hell out of you that someone is willing to go through this much torment
to clean up your mess? Cindy is doing your job. She is not being paid and she is enduring physical discomfort to do it.
Why can't you do what you are paid to do? Ask the Goddamn questions for us and then she and the rest of the country
can get out of that stinking, Crawford ditch.

Head Stone denies "neo con" is about Bush

  Link

  Excerpt:
The Stones upcoming album contains a song seemingly critical of President Bush,
but Mick Jagger denies it's directed at him.

"It is not really aimed at anyone," Jagger said on Extra's Wednesday edition.
"It's not aimed, personally aimed, at Bush. It wouldn't be called 'Sweet Neo Con' if it was."

They say Mick is tighter with his mega-millions than anyone else in the music business.
I guess he's worried that they'll only make $200,000,000 this tour when they could make
$200,000,001 by licking Bush's murdering ass for the American whore media.

Mick, your ass licking makes me sick.

 Bush's nuclear gift to terrorists

  Link

  Excerpt:
An obscure provision of Bush's energy bill demonstrates how commercial considerations can trump national security.
Despite widespread opposition - from nuclear regulators from the five preceding presidential administrations - Senator
Pete Domenici, chairman of the Energy Committee, included an amendment that guts restrictions on the export of highly
enriched uranium, the same material used in the Hiroshima atomic bomb. If terrorists obtained enough such uranium they
could fashion a full-fledged nuclear weapon, not merely a "dirty bomb" that would scatter radioactive waste."

The sons of bitches...
Gutting restictions on uranium?

Remember how "important" it was to know which of Monica's nipples Bill licked first?

Since the old Mick is not a US citizen, he could be barred entry into to US
under the blanket of our glorious, "Patriotic Act?"

And, damn, maybe THAT would shake up America a bit...

That's why he has pissed me off so much.
If the Rolling Stones were de-toured for being "a danger to America" people might say,
"That crazy Bush bastard has gone too far" and it would add nails to his coffin,
but nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.

Mick, apparently, wants every last stinking nickel he can get his greedy hands on.
I mean, why stop a war when it might cost you an extra nickel, right, Mick?

Reminder:

Rush Limbaugh was fired from the world's top sports network because he couldn't
get past his fascist racism long enough to admit Donovan McNabb is a good quarterback.

No, he said McNabb was considered a good quarterback because he was black and the liberals
in sports (liberals in sports?) propped him up because of his race and he was the guy who'd be
honest enough to tell the truth, and the truth was, that the quarterback who brought his team to
the playoffs more often than any other recent quarterback was not that good, that he was only
a darling of the left-wing sports writers (left-wing sports writers?) and that racism caused the
vulgar Pigboy to lose his often-stated "dream job" after just 5 appearances.

...but Rush was too racist - so ESPN fired his Nazi ass.

Subject: Maureen Dowd

Hey Bart,

Take it easy on old Maureen, she is on your side.
She also thinks that dems are spineless and ball-less (is that even a word? I'm German, so what do I know.....)

I know you watch Bill Maher and she must have been on his show at least a dozen times last season.
I think (again, I'm German, what do I know) you'd be better off attacking the real whores in the media.
Most knuckel dragging rednecks don't read Maureen's stuff anyways, but they sure watch TV.
Your German friend in Tennessee,

Sonja

Sonja, sure, Dowd seems to be on our side at the moment, but I don't like it when
people like her and that slug Chris Matthews change their politics with each election.

Dowd has printed dozens of outright lies to harm Democrats
and I fail to see why anyone would take her side-switching seriously.

 Death Toll in Iraq Soars

  Link

   Excerpt:
T the number of deaths among Guard and Reserve forces has been trending upward much of this year,
totaling more than 100 since May 1. That ranks as the deadliest stretch of the war for the Guard and Reserve,
whose members perform both combat and support missions.

The Pentagon rejects any suggestion the Guard and Reserve are more vulnerable in combat because they are part-timers.

"We will not deploy a soldier, sailor, airman or Marine who is not fully trained and prepared for the mission,"
lied Air Force Lt. Col. Ellen Krenke, a Pentagon spokeswoman.

Some see it differently. Michael O'Hanlon, a military analyst with the Brookings Institution think tank,
said Thursday that while the performance of reservists has been generally excellent, some are shortchanged
on training prior to arriving in Iraq.

"If we really believe that military personnel need months of intensive training before being at their best
— as logic suggests and other evidence would seem to prove — it is hard to believe that most reservists
in Iraq are really as strong as active-duty troops, especially when they first arrive in country," O'Hanlon said.

It's logical to assume that since they can't meet their recruiting goals, they must be rushing men into combat
before they're ready.  Think of a wagon train under attack by Indians 150 years ago: Do you only allow those
with sufficient gun experience to fire at the attackers?  Or do you give a gun to anyone old enough to aim it?

Oil Watch

I have CNN on in the background.
Their Wall Street Monkey said oil was currently over $67 a barrel
and that oil going to $70, "was not entirely out of the question."

Duh!
Ya think?

What a monkey!
Oil could break $70 before the end of the f-ing day - and why is that?
Because we have two oilers in the White House and the Democrats can't
find the courage to ask why men are dying in the sand for higher oil prices.

Oil will be over $100 soon, Mr. Wall Street expert.
You read that on  bartcop.com  a long, long time ago.

Oil rise sets up investment opportunity

  Link

   Excerpt:
The terror premium is once again being priced into the market and crude oil
futures are the rising mercury in the thermometer that measures it as the market heats up.

It now seems as if oil is exacerbating the seasonal weakness as summer draws to an end.
This additional seasonal weakness in the capital markets is best explained by fear associated
with rising costs of oil. For the first time ever, oil futures have exceeded $66 a barrel.

So, is it an actual fundamental supply shortage driving this market higher or is it the fear of shortages?
All data support the fear argument, the market is pricing grave fears from rising Middle East tensions.

In other words, Bush's illegal war has made him and his rich oil friends much, much richer.

Judge Bart Stanley accepted Turner's plea and said the jail time would be followed by
