Powell
Being Powell
by
Robert Parry as seen on consortiumnews.com
Link
Excerpt:
Powell is pinning the blame for his false Iraq
testimony before the UN in 2003 not on his
superiors in the Bush administration nor on George Tenet - but "on
some people in the
intelligence community" at lower levels.
In his first extensive interview since his resignation
early this year, Powell told ABC News
that his reputation has suffered because his assurances
about Iraq's supposed stockpiles
of chemical and biological weapons proved false.
"It's a blot," Powell said. "I'm
the one who presented it on behalf of the United States
to the world, and [it] will always be a part of my record.
It was painful. It's painful now."
Colin, your lies helped kill almost 1900 American soldiers.
Saying "it's painful" isn't enough.

Patients
put down in New Orleans
Those who couldn't evacuate given overdoses
Link
Excerpt:
Doctors killed critically ill patients rather
than leave them to die in agony as they evacuated.
With gangs of rapists and looters rampaging through
wards in the flooded city, senior doctors
gave massive overdoses of morphine to those they believed
could not make it out alive.
One emergency official, William Forest McQueen, said: "Those
who had no chance of
making it were given a lot of morphine and lain down
in a dark place to die."
Their families believe their confessions are an
indictment of the appalling failure of US authoritiesBush
to help those after Katrina flooded the city, claiming
thousands of lives and making 500,000 homeless.
"I didn't know if I was doing the right thing," the
doctor said. "But I did not have time. I had to make
snap decisions, under the most appalling circumstances,
and I did what I thought was right.
"I injected morphine into those patients who were dying
and in agony.
"If the first dose was not enough, I gave a double
dose.
"And at night I prayed to God to have mercy on my soul."
More victims of Bush's greed and stupidity.
Do I fault the doctors? No.
If I had been the patient, I would've said, "Thank you."
Death my morphine is preferable to dying of thirst because Bush
put a moron in charge of disaster response, the son of a bitch.

Subject: Legion hits a single
The big wigs at the American Legion may be morons
but the little people are alright.
Our post had a drive to collect supplies for the hurricane
victims last week.
I volunteered to borrow a truck from work and
drive the stuff about 20 miles to another post
where a collection station had been set up. When I got
there, there was a National Guard truck
that was supposed to take everything from around the
state to their armory and get it down to the region.
Their truck was full so we loaded the rest of
the stuff into my truck and I followed them about
50 miles and unloaded everything at the armory. What
was supposed to be a 20 mile ride turned
into an all day affair but what the hell. I can tell
you the legion membership around the state
collected tons of shit and continue to do so.
Most of the conversations I heard were against
Bush and the horrible FEMA response.
The next day, alot of people from my post were among
the few at the township 9/11 ceremony.
Don't dis the Legion just because the leadership are
morons.
The membership are usually there doing good deeds whenever
needed.

Lost
at Tora Bora
How Bush let Osama slip away
Link.
Excerpt:
Osama bin Laden sat with a group of top aides
in mountainous Tora Bora in eastern Afghanistan.
Outside, it was blustery and bitterly cold but inside
the cave complex, where bin Laden had sought
his final refuge from the American war bin Laden munched
on olives and sipped sugary mint tea.
Osama appeared to be supremely confident.
As the last major battle of the war in Afghanistan
began, hidden from view inside the caves were an
estimated 1,500 to 2,000 well-trained, well-armed men.
A mile below, at the base of the caves,
some three dozen U.S. Special Forces troops fanned
out. They were the only ground forces
that senior American military leaders had committed
to the Tora Bora campaign.
Three dozen men?
Bush wanted Osama real bad, didn't he?
"I
might commit as many as 36 men
to
avenging these terrible attacks.
Meanwhile,
100,000 troops will
be
guard my new Iraqi pipeline."

Katrina
is not 9/11
Link
Excerpt:
Slipstreaming behind the annual rituals of sorrow
and reverence for 9/11, George W Bush
has decreed that, five days later, on the 16th, there
is to be a further day of solemnities on which
the nation will pray for the unnumbered victims of Hurricane
Katrina. Prayers (like vacations) are
the default mode for this president who knows how to
chuckle and bow the head in the midst of
disaster but not, when it counts, how to govern or to
command...Thus has George Bush become
the Archbishop of Washington even as his aura as lord
protector slides into the putrid black lagoon,
bobbing with cadavers and slick with oil, that has swallowed

Bush
couldn't have done any worse
Link
Excerpt:
If George W. Bush had sat down and deliberately
planned to endanger the future security
of the nation, to diminish our standing in the world,
to empty the national coffers, to raise oil prices,
and to imperil the lives of all Americans, both at home
and abroad, for generations to come,
he couldn't succeeded more completely. The simple fact
is this: short of doing something
completely unimaginable, like starting a nuclear war
or invading Mecca, George W. Bush
could not have done any worse for the United States.

Subject: No more Clintons
Bart, Karl Rove owes his success to Bill
Clinton.
Clinton took the party to the center (ie."welfare reform")
so it would stand for nothing. When he left (after he
made Gore stumble
because of Monica) everything fell apart and Rove had
fertile ground.
The center is where the votes are, and I think Gore's rejection of
Clinton, who,
during impeachment was 40 points higher than Bush is now, cost him the
election.
.
Now he says that Bush's response to Katrina was
absolutely fine and he gazes adoringly at
Papa Bush pleading for money from us while Haliburton
bilks us for hundreds of millions.
Why isn't Clinton calling Bush incompetent and calling
for his immediate removal?
Because he's a political whore.
Cheryl
At least I'm a New Yorker who can vote against
Hillary in 2006. I'll vote Green first
You have opinions and so do I.
I think if Bill got in the Monkey's face and
screamed insults at him Hillary wouldn't be elected.
I think the Clintons know more about politics
than both of us put together.
The last Demo besides Clinton to win twice was first elected in 1932.
I think a vote against a Clinton is a vote for the BFEE.
...but that's just one man's opinion.
