Bush Still
Ignores Iraq Reality
by Robert Perry as seen on Consortiumnews.com
Link
Excerpt:
With more than 2,300 U.S. soldiers dead along
with tens of thousands of Iraqis, Bush is celebrating
the third anniversary of his Iraq invasion by
continuing to spin the intelligence to the American people.
To Bush, it seems, the glass in Iraq is always
one-tenth full, not nine-tenths empty. But Bush's wishful
thinking now -- like his miscalculations in March
2003 -- may only be lengthening the war and the casualty lists.

Censure Bush for Crimes
Link
Excerpt:
Russ feingold is proposing censuring Bush for
breaking the laws against domestic eavesdropping,
saying the White House misled Americans about
its legality.
"The president has broken the law and, in some
way, he must be held accountable," said Feingold.
A censure resolution, which scolds the president,
has been used just once — against Andrew Jackson in 1834.
Bill Frist, (R-Cat Killer), called the proposal
"a crazy political move" that would weaken the U.S. during wartime.
Hey Frist, tell your boy to stop committing crimes
while we're at war.
That way, he won't be held accountable for crimes
committed during war.

Dick 'Bulls eye' Cheney
Link
Excerpt:
Der Monkey headlined the annual Gridiron Club
roast Saturday night,
but Dick "Bulls eye" Cheney was the main target
of the humor.
Bush pointed out that the shooter's full name
is Richard B. Cheney.
"B. stands for bulls eye," Bush said to
laughter from reporters. The press blew the matter
way out of proportion: "Good Lord, you'd thought
he shot somebody or something."
Cheney called that day "the
worst day of my life," and now Der Monkey
is poking fun?
Or was Cheney just hamming it up for the cameras, and it really is
a joking matter?
This is the same guy who used to tell the 9-11
Trifecta jokes, remember?
This is the same guy who had a crew film him
looking for WMDs in the Oval Office, remember?
This is the same guy who called Cindi Sheehan,
"Mother," when "consoling" her, remember?
This is the guy who giggles when he kills.

Tried to Death

Excerpt:
Slobodan Milosevic, the former Serbian leader
indicted for war crimes for orchestrating the Balkan wars
of the 1990s, was found dead in his prison cell
near The Hague today, the UN tribunal said. Milosevic, 64,
was found dead in his bed at a UN prison near
The Hague. He appeared to have died of natural causes, a
tribunal press officer said. A full autopsy and
toxicological examination have been ordered.
Milosevic had been on trial since February 2002,
defending himself against 66 counts including genocide.
This will give Bush ideas - try Saddam for years until he just falls
over dead.
Update:

Excerpt:
A Dutch toxicologist said he found traces of
rifampicin, an antituberculosis drug
that breaks down other medications very quickly
in Milosevic's system.

Bart,
I don't get it. Where are you and Molly in arrears?
You've both been spreading the truth about the
shrub's lack 'o competence since before he stole the 2000 election.
Lately, Molly seems unable to write a column that
doesn't attack our front runner.
I get the impression she'd rather climb a tree
and scream at Hillary
than stay on the ground and each a nice piece
of apple pie.
Molly's not reluctantly admitting that Hillary
has flaws.
She's ready and eager to lead the anti-Hillary
parade.
Will she get a 'Thank You' from Karl Rove?
Like Molly, I'm not as happy about some of Hillary's
political stances as I'd like to be.
I don't know of anyone, including Bill, who supports
every
position Hillary has.
Like you, I reckon if she's the front runner,
and eventually, the nominee, I will be 100% behind her.
You won't hear that from Molly and I'll bet
$100 on that.
I promise you this, she won't take the baseless
attacks lying down, like what's his name.
I don't mean to attack Molly.
I just want her to fire at their side,
not ours.
If you care to, please read my recent post about

About That
Rebellion ...
Link
Excerpt:
We keep hearing that the Republicans in Congress
are in revolt against the president.
Some rebellion.
Yes, the Republicans defied President Bush on
the United Arab Emirates ports deal.
The idea that a happy few are charging the White
House ramparts is ridiculous.
Republican lawmakers don't just turn a blind
eye when they learn that the president
is making profoundly bad choices, like cutting
constitutional corners, abrogating treaties
and even breaking the law. They actually legalize
the president's misdeeds..
What's more amazing is the NY Whore Times criticizing their boy.
They sat on the spying story for a year - to help Bush.
They dogged Clinton about the dead Whitewater issue for eight years,
giving Ken Starr an excuse to keep dragging it on and on and on.
They printed every lie fed to them by Karl Rove and Scooter Libby -
as fact..
The NYW Times is the primary media outlet that green-lit the invasion
in Iraq.
The "paper of record" said Saddam had WMDs, so Bush's
invasion had to happen.
They also printed Matt Drudge's wild-ass claims that Clinton fathered
a baby with a crack whore
- on the goddamn front page - then retracted that from their web site
after the DNA tests proved
the baby wasn't Clinton's, as if that was some wild, unexpected turn
of events..
Rush and Drudge have been making the editorial decisions for the Whore
Times since 1992.

I used to watch his mid-morning question-dodge
bullshit lie-fest every day at work,
it was entertaining (like a trainwreck)--but
then the "not going to comment on the
ongoing investigation" broken record when Scooter
got in trouble wore me down.
It should be mandatory for each Bush voter to
watch at least one Scotty "gaggle" a week
so they know what an open, honest, godly administration
they are responsible for electing,
maybe that would whittle the Bush support down
to the single digits where it belongs.
Anyway, keep hammering... looking forward to 90.

Hi, Bart.
I suppose it would be a horror to see explicit
pictures of your loved one dead on the battle field.
The accusation implies you could see and recognize
the dead soldier's face.
I'm pretty sure that never happened, that's why
I asked which pictures "offended."
Since the writer was unclear, he may also object
to pictures of Arlington Cemetary..
Could that be what this person is trying to express?
No telling - it's important to be clear when attacking.
For all we know, he objected to the death totals
we run each day.
On the other hand, how can we ask our soldiers
to endure the reality of war
if we can't even endure the photographs?
Sorry if I'm not getting your drift here ...
haven't checked in with the site for a while..
Amy.
Basically, his accusation was "How
could you do that?"
and it's hard to answer without knowing what
"that" is.

Broken Hammer
by Joe Conason

Yet as the longtime incumbent surely understood,
he had little reason to gloat as he raked in still more money
from the influence peddlers. Within hours after
the primary results were reported, Congressional Quarterly
magazine revised its rating of his district's
likely November outcome from "leans Republican" to "tossup."
To C.Q.'s analysts, the Hammer still seems highly
vulnerable to his Democratic adversary in the general election,
former U.S. Rep. Nick Lampson. Indeed, despite
his overwhelming primary victory, those professionals
consider him more endangered now than ever.

Subject: The AP
Bart -
I don't mean to sound like a cranky old man,
but Jimmy the Legal Intern is a day late and a dollar short about AP.
First of all, they are nothing more than stenographers
- they are not reporters. A prime example is their regurgitation,
literally word for word, of GOP party chairman
Jim Nicholson's early 1999 lies about Al Gore. You remember
Nicholson - the liar who went before Congress
and said the VA had enough money - and missed by a Haliburton mile.
And it just isn't politics - how many times has
AP thought "Enola Gay" was the name of a crew member,
not the name of the B-29, that dropped the A-Bomb
on Hiroshima?
John of Springfield
John, worse about the AP is their policy of reporting what Bush meant
to say, not what he said.
They also report White House spin as fact, as in "Bush
won over the crowd."
That, and they report at 9 AM what Bush said at a lunch meeting that
day.
I'm so old, I remember when the AP was a respected news organization.
I think "whores" is more accurate than "stenographers."

W's Mixed
Messages
by Maureen Dowd
Link
Excerpt:
Homeland Security's protection of the ports is
a joke. The goof-off Michael Chertoff is still in charge.
The swaggering of Bush & Cheney on national
security has been exposed as a sham, with millions spent
shoring up our defenses wasted, with the Iraq
war aggravating our danger, and with anti-Muslim feeling
swelling among Americans and anti-American feeling
swelling among Muslims.
Bush does not seem to understand that it was his
bumbling -- rather than our bigotry -- that led Americans
to yelp at the idea of Arabs running our ports.
When the president said "my administration was satisfied that
port security would not have been undermined
by the agreement," he seemed oblivious to the fact that --
after W.M.D., Katrina and Iraq -- many Americans
no longer trust this administration to protect them.
W. and General Rove present the war on terror
as Armageddon and World War VIII, yet in every other
aspect of foreign policy, it's business as usual.
One minute they're scaring Americans into supporting their
power grabs by essentially yelling, "They're
coming to kill us!" The next minute, the Persian Gulf is still the
great nexus for capitalist deals by the likes
of John Snow, Cheney, Halliburton and the Carlyle Group..
If Maureen Dowd wasn't a reporter for rent like Judith Miller, I'd offer
her a shot of Chinaco for that rant.
But tomorrow, she'll fabricate outright lies against Democrats because
she's for rent, like a whore.
She can't be trusted.

Bush: Being
a Loser
a Buzzflash edtorial
Link
Excerpt:
No doubt Bush and Cheney fashion themselves in
the macho tradition of Tom Landry and the winning Texas football tradition.
Except there is one problem with this analogy:
Landry was a winner, a laconic strategist who knew how to anticipate his
opponents and outplay them, through skilled "CEO"
game plans and excellent "personnel picks" to play on the Cowboys.
Bush and Cheney are just the opposite. They are
losers who keep telling their "fans" that they are winning the game,
even though their team is behind 56-0 at half
time. The scoreboard doesn't lie, even if Bush and Cheney do.
America is near bankruptcy, our global environment
is imploding, the number of Islamic fundamentalist governments
is increasing, Iraq is engaged in a civil war,
our nation's ports and strategic targets remain as vulnerable to terrorism
as ever,
the nation is increasingly isolated internationally,
our military capability is deteriorating, our national economy is being
outsourced to nations overseas, our most basic
social service infrastructure is being dismantled, and our Constitution
is
being daily violated by illegal activity such
as the wiretapping of our citizens. And that is just the short list; but
the
germane issue here is that it has been a losing
game plan.

Below most of your articles is a hyperlink for
readers to email you comments.
But, the clicked on "comments", although just

put the aforementioned article in the subject

You are correct.
I think many readers assume the comment link they
click on automatically goes to a special place
for that particular article's comments. Yet,
clearly, anybody clicking on any "comment" link will send
their comments all to the same address, without
any mention of the article they wished to comment on.
Correct again.
I'll bet all the smarter websites have that, like the open-new-page

The reader/mailer needs to enter the subject of
the comment in the subject box.
Because many web sites provide similar click

put the subject in the reply, these readers clearly
think your site does the same.

British veterans of the Iraq war are suffering
a "Vietnam effect" after returning home to face a hostile public,
according to one of Britain's foremost experts

unpopular decision of the government to ignore

"Gulf War Two has changed society's attitude

no heroes in this war. Two-thirds of this country
didn't want [Iraq] to happen and that has a massive effect
on the men who come home."

I know you're gonna come back with some swipe
at me most likely for this but I'm writing you anyway.
I never attack a lefty, I only counter-attack,
so you should be safe.
Hillary is a pink tutu, like Gore, Kerry, Lieb
and all the rest.
She had her chance to vote against the asshole's
war from the start but she jumped on the bandwagon.
We disagree on that.
Apparently, when the CIA gives you a guarantee
that Saddam can launch WMDs in less than an hour,
Senator Chuck would vote against
protecting the East Coast?
Your position gives Bush cover, that he didn't
have the CIA lie about Saddam's WMDs.
I find it odd that you'd take Bush's word over
Hillary's - that's how I see it.
I used to love the Big Dog, but now everytime
I see him in tow with Daddy bush,
I feel about as abandoned as I can be.
Dude, what's Bart's

Mr & Mrs Stupid Voter want to see the left

When Clinton pals around with Poppy, he's saying,
"Me
and Hil aren't the haters, we're good folks."
I don't fault Clinton for helping to raise money

Molly Ivins is right. The Dem party needs
to die a death once and for all.
I'm all for that the day after Hillary
takes the oath, but let's not disband our team just before the game starts,
OK?
When you say, "Let's
break up the Dems,"
you're saying "I
want more of the BFEE."
You don't mean that, right?
I left the Dems when John Kerry didn't even have
the pretense of courage
that Al Gore did and conceded without even trying
to pretend to fight.
But where did you go?
Like it or not, your choices are Dem or Nazi.
Snap out of it, my friend. It's OK to be
wrong occasionally and to say so.
Does that advice work both ways?
Isn't that one of the problems with this moron
in the white house whose hypocrisy you expose on a daily basis ??
Bush failing to admit his failings doesn't make
the Dems useless - their cowardice makes them useless.
One long weekend of Bart-slapping could bring
them around.
It's time for a change, bart.
I don't know how to do it, but the Dems and Hillary
ain't the way.
chuck
Chuck, as of March 13, 2006, your choices (in my opinion) are Hillary
or
four more years of Bush crimes.
It won't due to say, "I reject those choices."
Nobody (but Molly Ivins) is more ready to kick the Democrats to the
curb than me,
but we have to land this plane before we can talk about building
a better one.
Let's let Hillary land the plane, THEN we'll fix the Democratic party.

Tried to watch The West Wing, but that didn't work because some
greedy, corporate handjob at the local NBC
affiliate claimed their super-duper radar spotted a cloud in southern
Kansas, so they pre-empted The West Wing

country is seeing the winding down of The West Wing.
Same for Crossing Jordan, which Mrs. Bart likes. The stupid cloud
drifted to Arkansas by 9 PM. so they
pre-empted Jordan to track the cloud for the Arkies, even tho
Arkansas has plenty of TV stations, themselves.
However, HBO doesn't cancel programming if someone thinks they see
