"Nobody from the Democratic Party has actually
stood up and called for the getting rid of
the terrorist surveillance program.
You know, if that's what they believe, if people in the party
believe that, then they ought to stand
up and say it. They ought to stand up and say, the tools
we're using to protect the American
people shouldn't be used. They ought to take their message
to the people and say, vote for me.
That's what they ought to be doing.
--Dubya, yesterday, Link
Is that how we play?
"Nobody from the GOP has actually stood up
and called for the lynching of every black man
in America. You know, if that's what
they believe, if people in the GOP believe that, then they
ought to stand up and say it. They
ought to stand up and say, "We're gonna hang
every black
man we
can find. They ought to take their message to the people and say, vote
for me."
If that's what all Republicans believe,
who don't they have the courage to say the words out loud?
That's not how high-brow, losemeister Bob Shrub would've handled it,
but a fast, over-the-top retort serves a purpose.
First, it disarms the GOP from attacking your attack. What can they
say, "How dare you?"
Second, it draws a line that says, "If you
go gutter, we'll go gutter and we'll f-ing win."
But nooooooooooooooooo.
The Democrats say, "We can't be like them.
I have too much integrity to dignity to deny that I
ran like a coward in Vietnam because I faked
my medals" ...and continue losing with our dignity intact.
If the Democrats want a whole herd of flame-throwing comebacks quaranteed
to scorch fascist ass,
all they gotta do is send me an e-mail. All I want is the DoD
if we win.

Those Lies,
Again
by Robert Parry as seen on Consortiumnews.com
Link
Excerpt:
In a nationally televised press conference, George
W. Bush repeated some of his favorite lies about
the Iraq War, including the canard that he was
forced to invade because Saddam Hussein blocked
the work of United Nations weapons inspectors
in 2003.
Bush has uttered this lie in a variety of forms
over more than 2 ½ years, yet the Washington press corps
has never challenged the President directly about
the falsehood. He got away with it again on March 21
when no journalist followed up the question from
Helen Thomas that elicited Bush's response.
Some TV commentary about the Thomas-Bush exchange
even suggested that Bush had scored points
with the American public for calling on - and
then slapping down - the senior White House correspondent
who is known for her irreverent and acerbic questions.
But Bush's truthfulness wasn't questioned.
It never is.
America's "First Family" is above the law.
Republicans stay on the offensive by accusing
innocent Democrats of having sex.
Democrats stay on the defensive by failing to
accuse the guilty GOP of their crimes and wars.

Bush Allows
Helen a Question
He's a brave bastard, that Bush boy
Link
Excerpt:
At his news conference today, Bush took a question
from Helen Thomas for the first time in four years.
Helen, who is in her 80s, has been a critic of
war, death, invasions and murder, so naturally he is terrified of her.
Helen has made it well-known what question she
intended to ask Mr. Bush: Why did we go to war in Iraq?
His answer: "You wanna know about Iraq? Let
me tell you about Afghanistan."

Is Hillary
a Lincoln?
Link
Excerpt:
Abraham Lincoln was without a doubt appalled
and disgusted with slavery because he believed that the
slaves fell under the umbrella of "all men are
created equal". He personally yearned for full equal rights
for the slaves. Yet there are mountains
of evidence of him supporting half measures and compromise.
Evidence that has been used to claim that he
was racist and a shill for aparthied.

Subject: 'gotcha' for the MSM
Please explain to me how the MSM did not either
a) catch this tidbit from fucko's press conference
or
b) chose to outright ignore it:
http://www.cnn.com/2006/POLITICS/03/21/bush.transcript/index.html
"And the world said, "Disarm, disclose or face
serious consequences."
And therefore, we worked with the world.
We worked to make sure that Saddam Hussein
heard the message of the world.
And when he chose to deny the inspectors, when
he
chose not to disclose, then I had
the difficult decision to make to remove him.
And we did. And the world is safer for it."
The President of the U.S.A. is outright lying
about the fact his 48 hour warning of impending
"Shock and Awe" wasn't geared towards anyone
besides the UN inspectors that were both
a) DOING EXACTLY WHAT HE SAYS WASN'T BEING PERMITTED
or
b) rushing to get the fuck out of Dodge.
And NO ONE will even mention it.
Fuck 'em - keep hammering bro, i took the winter
empties back,
so i'm kicking you a sawbuck before i blow it
on more booze.

Subject: Bush's lies leading
up to his invasion
(Bush's decision to invade) was
from the beginning a cultural mugging of opportunity, a planned racist
homicide
on a massive scale. Many of us knew this
well before February 15, 2003. We just never imagined that the
Cheney creeps were so craven that they would
actually go ahead with it.
Congress unwisely gave Bush the benefit
of the doubt, having no concept of an administration that could
be this vile, although a few of them knew what
those of us who are not PAID to know already knew.
RMann
RMann, that was well put, and one of the sanest letters you've ever
sent.
Did you mean to be sane and reasonable? Or was this an accident?

The phrase I underlined, I think, says it best.
All this chatter of what "everybody knew for
a fact" is/was poppycock.

Sarandon
Calls Hillary "a disappointment"
Attacking Hillary is good publicity for her movie
News of this attack is all over the internet, like she planned
Link
Excerpt:
To generate cheap publicity for her anti-war
film, Susan Sarandon says she's unhappy with Hillary.
"I find Hillary Clinton to be a great disappointment,"
Miss Sarandon told More magazine.
(Has anybody ever heard of More
magazine? I looked it up - it's a magazine for older women.
No wonder I hadn't heard of it.)
"She seems to be a very bright woman. I've met
her. But she's lost her progressive following because
of her caution and centrist approach. It bothers
me when she voted for the war," Sarandon said.
"What America is looking for is authentic people
who want to go into public service because
they believe strongly in something, not people
who are trying to get elected."
I thought that was the Democrats' problem - that
they had no desire to win.
Did Gore try to get elected?
Did Kerry try to get elected?
Name a Democrat besides Bill Clinton who fought
a smart, strong campaign.
Sidebar:
If Hillary's not the front runner,
as many Hillary critics claim, why is she the only Democrat
who is being shelled by other Democrats? Is
anyone pounding Gore, Kerry or Feingold?
Like most Hillary critics, Sarandon failed to
say who might be better suited to beat the BFEE machine
but apparently, as long as Hillary fails to win,
Susan Sarandon will be happy.
I hope Ms. Sarandon makes a lot of money with her movie.

The Punchy
President
Link
Excerpt:
Bush had a senior moment midway through his news
conference yesterday.
Referring to an earlier question from the LA
Whore Times' Jim Gerstenzang, who has covered
much of Bush's presidency, Bush looked at the
veteran correspondent -- and forgot his name.
He identified Terry Hunt, the AP's veteran White
House correspondent, as the generic "AP Person."
He accused New York Times correspondent Elisabeth
Bumiller of sleeping through his speech Monday
in Cleveland. After USA Today's David Jackson
interrupted a Bush non-answer, the president queried:
"Now, what is your follow-up yell?"
And he made a show of reading from his stage directions.
Rambling his way through a question
about interest rates, Bush paused to confess,
"I'm kind of stalling for time here.".

I don't know why people want to "straighten me

Do you think I slept thru that year?
gore ran as 'his own man'. who wouldn't
want a president to be his own man.
In 1988, Bush ran as "Let's
stay the course," and he won because Reagan
was semi-popular..
Gore refused to do that, and Bush became president.
he didn't lose because he separated himself from
clinton. he didn't lose at all.
this is republican media drivel that karl rove
put out there and some people still enjoy repeating it.
No matter how you spin it, Gore was not
the president so stop pretending, would you?
I can't re-write every sentence in history to
add, "Of course, we all know Gore won..."
I assume readers of bartcop.com can
remember back as far as the end of 2000.
I refuse to insult them and I suggest you stop
insulting people, too.
bush was 'selected' by 1 vote on the
supreme court. remember' bush vs. gore '.
<lots of snippage of repetitive redundancies>

From now on, when someone writes to say "Gore
actually won in 2000,"
as tho this was some thunderbolt to Ol' Bart
the mega-idiot, they'll get one of these.
If you're having political conversations with
someone who can't remember 2000,
I suggest you widen your circle of acquaintences
to people with IQs of at least 30.

Subject: Question for Bush
A question some reporter needs to ask the next
time:
"What is your relationship with the group called
Project for a New American Century,
and why is it that your policies here and
abroad match perfectly with their agenda,
including using a terrorist attack on the
United States to prompt a pre-emptive war in the middle east?"
DEADLY followup when he denies knowing who PNAC
is:
"If you know nothing about this radical organization,
then how is it that Cheney, Jeb, Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz
and other members of your administration and
the GOP are the people responsible for founding this group,
and how is it that your domestic and foriegn
policy EXACTLY MATCHES the agenda of this radical group?"
David

Apology
for Clooney (sort
of)
Link
Excerpt:
Arianna Huffington issued an apology to readers
of her site after misleadingly crediting George Clooney
with authoring a politically charged entry.
Clooney did not get an apology as of this writing.
The semi-apology was printed Saturday in a blog
entry titled "Lesson Learned" and was addressed to
"HuffPost Readers, Commenters and Bloggers,"
but not the offended party, puzzling some.
"Even though the point of providing George Clooney
a sample blog was to show how it's done and encourage
him to join the blogosphere, I will curb my enthusiasm
and not do this in the future," Huffington wrote.

Clearly our so called commander and chief has
lost what little mind he had left after the
booze and cocaine binges of his youth and adulthood.
The so called progress that Bush
talked about is non existent and he should know
it.
The fact that he continues to put forward a sunny
view of the bloody illegal war in Iraq is more
proof that the man needs a good does of psychiatric
care. Bush tried to blame the media for not
showing the so called "good" things in Iraq.
The problem is for every small gain, and they
have been small if at all, the continued increase in
violence renders those mute. Why the American
people continue to believe Bush's bullshit is beyond me.
If you and I lied to our wives as much as Bush
has lied to us we would be living in the dog house or
worse yet the American public still won't push
to throw the bastard out. Polls show his low numbers
but until the public presses its congressmen
to get rid of the murdering monkey those numbers don't mean shit.

Excerpt:
Prosecutors in one Florida county decided Tuesday
to drop charges against a former Tampa teacher
accused of having sex with a lucky 14-year-old
middle school student. The decision, announced hours
after a judge rejected a plea deal for Debra
Lafave, means the victim won't have to testify.
Lafave's sentence in another county for having
sex with the same boy still stands.
Prosecutors and defense attorneys had urged the
judge to accept the deal for the sake of the boy involved.
A psychiatrist who examined the teenager told
the judge at a previous hearing that the boy suffered extreme
anxiety from the media coverage
of the case and does not want to testify.

Subject: Nader in 2000
How long must the obfuscation go on?
While Nader did get votes that may have gone
to Gore, how many registered dems voted for Bush?
And the reason was, they were still mad at how
Clinton "sullied" the white house and their party with his actions.
So, instead of a "sullied" Gore, we got a squeaky-clean
Murder Monkey.
I say it was a bad decision to cast a vote that
helped Bush.
The number of Nader voters in Fl. did effect the
outcome, but no more than the number of dems who voted for Bush.
This fact is overlooked by the majority of people
who cling to the belief that Nader 'alone" was responsible.
Nader wasn't the only factor, but he was a
deciding factor.
I'm willing to forgive you, just don't screw
up 2008 the same way - deal?
Could you please help clarify this once and for
all?
I also think that the voters who refused to vote
at all, should shoulder some of the blame,
and no one ever brings them up, how many of them
would have voted for Gore over Bush?
I'm thinking quite a few.
That's a good point...
Finally I was pissed at Clinton about Nafta and
his inaction about another war <war on drugs>, not Monica.

(By the way -- when, where, and in which uniform did you

extensively about the run-up to war, I have no doubt that Bush,
Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rice, Wolfowitz, and especially
Feith are all liars. Moreover, you're among the world's
extremely small minority, if you believe the
Iraq war to be "just."
It's precisely the "unjust" nature of the America''s
invasion of Iraq that has turned most of the world against us,
thereby further jeopardizing our national security.
Bush's war of choice has created a new worldwide growth industry.
It's called 'international terrorism.'"
