Quotes

"I think Iraq is finished. We'll just find a way to get out.
I frankly don't think we ever intended to win there.
We certainly didn't send enough troops to close borders, to control the country."
--Michael Scheuer, former chief of the CIA's bin Laden unit,  Link

The BFEE can't make any money with order - they need chaos.

If we won the war and controlled the country, reporters could see that the primary job
of our troops is to get Bush's 2M barrels a day safely to Kuwait.

Liberty Over Safety
by Robert Parry  as seen on  consortiumnews.com

 Link

 Excerpt:
After more than two centuries of Americans sacrificing safety for liberty -- from the Lexington Green
to the Normandy beaches -- the Bush administration is telling Americans that they now must swap their
liberties for a bit more safety. The historical shift can be seen by comparing Patrick Henry's revolutionary
vow of "give me liberty or give me death" to Sen. Pat Roberts's self-centered observation that
"you have no civil liberties if you're dead."

Is Bush a Lunatic?
 by Molly

 Link

 Excerpt:
I hate to raise such an ugly possibility, but have you considered lunacy as an explanation?
Craziness would make a certain amount of sense.

I mean, you announce you are going to militarize the Mexican border, but you assure Vincente that
you are not militarizing the border. You announce you are sending the National Guard, but then you
assure everyone it's not very many soldiers and just for a little while.

Militarizing the border is a totally terrible idea. Do we have a State Department? Are they sentient?
How much do you want to infuriate Mexico when it's sitting on quite a bit of oil? Bush knows what
the most likely outcome of this move will be. He was governor during the political firestorm that ensued
when a Marine taking part in anti-drug patrols on the border shot and killed Esequiel Hernandez,
an innocent goat-herder from Redford, Texas.

Bush's Biggest Fraud

 Link

 Excerpt:
Bush ignored hard evidence from top intelligence officials between April and September of 2001 about
an impending attacks on U.S. soil. Why? If Bush really wanted Bin Laden, he blew SEVERAL opportunities.
One of them in July, prior to 9-11.  The Guardian and the French newspaper Le Figaro reported that bin Laden
received dialysis treatment for a period of some 10 days at the American hospital in Dubai, and while there,
he was visited by a local CIA agent. It was also about this time that U.S. State Department officials were
threatening Afghanistan with carpet bombing if the Taliban didn't come to terms on the proposed Unocal
pipeline across Afghanistan.

Bush had other opportunities to seize bin Laden but didn't.
See: Alexander Cockburn: Bush was offered bin Laden and Blew It.
Keep in mind, when the CIA was reported to have visited bin Laden in Dubai, 9-11 had not happened.
But, already the Bush State Department was spoiling for a war. All it needed was a pretext that the
gullible American public would buy! It got it —conveniently —on 9-11!

Subject: The Da Vinci Code

I don't understand why everyone is so worked up over fiction these days.
The movie "The Da Vinci Code" is a work of fiction.

It's a fictional story about the Bible which is also a fictional story about fictional characters
like God and Jesus.  None of this is real. I haven't seen people so worked up over a movie
since we found out that Darth Vader was Luke Skywalker's father in Star Wars!

Will I watch the movie? Probably not.
I'll wait for the X-Men movie because the characters are more realistic.

Just purchase the information from Equifax. And thelist goes on. They know everything about you all the way from

This unwillingness or maybe inability to admit even a micro-fault in their President, is as dangerous to the nation,
in a way, as any terrorist attack could be, for the desire and goal of such people is obviously not to enter into civil,
reasoned discussions of Bush's failed policies, but instead to silence the opposition completely in a country whose
chief claim to fame, ironically, is precisely freedom of expression. And I have little doubt that the die-hards among the
Bush worshippers, if they could, would gleefully resort to stronger methods than mere verbal slurs to ensure that silence.

Too many people think it's "cool" to vote Green or Libertarian or snake-handler.

Are OK women 10 times worse?

 Link

 Excerpt:
Oklahoma, Mississippi and the MountainRed states have set the pace in jailing women,
while Northeastern Blue states are curtailing the practice, according to a new report.

Jailed ladies grew by 757 % between 1977 and 2004, nearly twice the 388% increase for men.

Oklahoma was the worst (big surprise) - 129 behind bars for every 100,000 women in its population.
Women there were roughly 10 times more likely to be imprisoned than women in Mass. and Rhode Island.

Two things: Speed and rights.
I'm guessing these women aren't in for robbing banks and killing cops.
Meth is king in Oklahoma. Nobody has more meth labs then we do.

Add to that, women are considered chattle (or cattle) in Oklahoma.
The majority are Pickles Bush in Oklahoma, more than in other states - they do what they're told.
Women here are the property of their redneck, Bush-loving husbands - they do what they're told.

I think Oklahoma is also the unwed mother capital of the US and the top divorce state.
Maybe some years we're Number Two, but we're always a contender for the title.

Bottom line, educated women don't go to prison, Okie women do.
Bush-loving Okie women marry Bush-loving Okie men and they go to Okie jails.

Why we could lose again in 2008

Bart, my loathing is much more magnified for a Democrat,
who pretends to be my ally and betrays me than
for a Republican who is honestly vile.

He's comparing the Giggling Murderers to you-know-who.
He hates her so much, he prefers the BFEE to peace and prosperity.

If Karl Rove gets another four years by the dint of my voting my ideals and
convictions, than if I had voted for a Faustian Democrat, who later shanghais me,
then I can at least look at myself in the mirror with a sense of integrity.

Democrats would rather have "a sense of integrity" than victory - no wonder we can't win.

You may regard me as an insane zealot,
but for me and mine I have not much to lose.
I do not care to be reasonable.

Withheld

I get too much mail like this.

Democrats want to lose with dignity.
We don't want to taint ourselves with winning.

We feel good about being losers.
That's who we are.
Losing is good, it keeps us ...pure.

Republicans don't have these problems.
They have Inauguration Balls, instead.

How did I get in this we-love-to-lose party?

I need a drink.

Americans don't like Bush
personally much anymore, either

 Link

 Excerpt:
It's not just the way he's doing his job.
A drop in his personal popularity, as measured by several public polls, has shadowed the decline
in Bush's job-approval ratings and weakened his political armor when he and his party need it most.

Losing that political protection - dubbed "Teflon" when Ronald Reagan had it - is costing Bush the "leeway"
to survive hard times and maintain his grip on the nation's agenda. Without it, Bush is a more tempting target
for political enemies. And members of his party in Congress are less inclined to stand with him.

"When he loses likeability, the president loses the benefit of the doubt," said Dennis Goldford.
"That makes it much harder for him to steer."

Maybe if Bush would tell the truth once a week, he'd get some credibility back.
But his lies have bankrupted a nation, killed 2500 soldiers and made the world hate us.
May history show him as the snot-nosed little bastard he is.

 Excerpt:
Bad news for Republicans: The Know-Nothing faction of the party base has already forgotten the "war"
on Christmas and other chimerical dangers. As memories of 9 / 11 fade, they may even be losing vigilance
in the "war" on terror. The latest threat to the purity of our precious bodily fluids is brown-skinned Meskins.
If we're not vigilant, those swarthy fellows mowing your neighbor's yard are apt to rise up and sing
"The Star-Spangled Banner" in Spanish. But wait. Hasn't it been reported that Bush campaigned with a
mariachi band doing precisely that ? Yes, although the White House denies that the National Anthem was
performed in Spanish at Bush's inauguration. That was "America the Beautiful," they say. Big difference.

Bart, this is the alpha-moment where it all began to crumble for Bush.
This one tiny fracture in his dam of lies. It is truly his "blue dress".

And I don't understand it. It just doesn't make sense.
None of Bush's judges ever recuse themselves for a simple "conflict of interest"
...so why does John Ashcroft have a sudden fit of integrity?!?

I say this goes deep...real deep. I say somebody in the CIA had something
real bad on Ashcroft and showed him the pictures...and he stepped aside.
Nothing else makes sense.

jj

JJ, you could be right, but consider this:
The reason Clinton never told anybody the truth about Monica is because that person
might someday be in the position of either committing perjury for his president or
telling the truth and being responsible for taking him down.

Maybe Ashcroft just wanted to step out from in front of the oncoming fright train
to allow Bush to appoint people he knew would lie for him.

Probably because he can't find any more hand-jobs with the technical skill to do anything like 9/11,
and hand-jobs capable only of small attacks aren't worth sending over here.

Jim

It's frustrating when people refuse to address the question.
What kind of technical skill does it take to steal a gasoline truck
and drive it into a mall, a TV studio, a school or tourist attraction?

Why do some people answer a different question than the one asked?

Illegal Co-Habitation in Missouri
They don't allow people to live in sin in Missouri

 Link

 Excerpt:
BLACK JACK, Mo. - The city council has rejected a measure allowing unmarried couples with
multiple children to live together, and the mayor said those who fall into that category could soon face eviction.

Olivia Shelltrack and Fondrey Loving were denied an occupancy permit after moving into a home in this St. Louis
suburb because they have three children and are not married.  The town's planning and zoning commission
proposed a change in the law, but the measure was rejected Tuesday by the city council in a 5-3 vote.

"I'm just shocked," Shelltrack said. "I really thought this would all be over, and we could go on with our lives."

They have children together but the law says they can't live in the same house?

I blame Bush.
This country is going backwards while the rest of the world moves forward.

...add to that, Iran pumps FOUR M barrels a day.

Once the sick bastard invades, that's 6 M barrels a day
times today's oil price which is  $69.53 a barrel
makes $409,740,000 dollars Bush will steal daily

Is Dell Computers Bugging You?

 Link

 Excerpt:
I was opening up my almost brand new Dell 600m laptop, to replace a broken PCMCIA slot riser
on the motherboard. As soon as I got the keyboard off, I noticed a small cable running from the
keyboard connection underneath a piece of metal protecting the motherboard.

I figured "No Big Deal", and continued with the dissasembly. But when I got the metal panels off,
I saw a small white heatshink-wrapped package. Being ever-curious, I sliced the heatshrink open.
I found a little circuit board inside.

I called the police. They told me to call Homeland Security.
Why would the DHS have a keylogger in my laptop? It was surreal.

So I called them, and they told me to submit a Freedom of Information Act request.

If they're bugging phone calls and e-mail, why should home computers be off limits from the BFEE?

Oil Going to $100?
 Should've listened to Ol' Bart

 Link

 Excerpt:
Last May, Goldman Sachs raised eyebrows on Wall Street by releasing a report warning that crude oil
could see a "super spike," with prices reaching as high as $105 per barrel. And now? Well, the price of the
front-month crude contract is averaging above $65 per barrel for the year to date, after hitting an all-time high
on Apr. 21 of $75.35. While crude prices have pulled back somewhat since then, it seems the Goldman warning
may not be so far from reality after all.

In short, the market has reached nearly $75 per barrel without a disastrous supply event.
