Stain of Guantanamo
  by Brent Budowsky

 consortiumnews.com

 Excerpt:
After World War II, American leaders espoused principles of universal law that applied
to all nations, prohibiting aggression and demanding civilized treatment of enemy captives.
In this guest essay, political analyst Brent Budowsky looks at how the stain of Guantanamo
shows how the current generation of American leaders has failed to uphold those principles.

Quotes

"In the old empires, there would be a lot of marriages between the royal families.
And from time to time, these inter-family marriages would produce a mentally
challenged son who would inherit the throne. This would set the empire back for
hundreds of years. I'm not saying anything, ...but Russia is big and so is China."

"We had orders to kill"
   Haditha plot gets thicker

 Yahoo News

 Excerpt:
Four U.S. soldiers accused of murdering suspected insurgents during a raid in Iraq
said they were under orders to "kill all military age males," according to sworn statements.

"The rule of engagement was to kill all military age males on Objective Murray,"
Staff Sgt. Ray Girouard told investigators, referring to the target by its code name.

Oh, I'm gonna be sick.
I live in a country that invades another country and then "kills all the military age males?"

In Iraq that's what, all males between the ages of ten and seventy?
Is this the biggest massacre America's ever been involved with?

Under-arned, under-trained, overworked, scared and overstressed American teenagers
are sent to (or kept against their will in) Iraq to "kill all the military age males?"

I think we need a public trial so we know what happened here.
No secret plea bargaining - no "secrets vital to America" bullshit here...

We need to know if those soldiers are telling the truth.
Has America's finest been reduced to "Kill 'em all?"

I'm so old, I remember when all we did was torture them
while making them wear pink panties on the heads.

Seems like every couple of weeks,
Bush drags America's dignity a few rungs lower.

Subject: Self defense

Lets say the Michigan Militia foray into Canada to take out some of those liberal RCMP's.
During a fire fight the Militia takes a couple RCMP's hostage in exchange for Canadian beer.
So the Canadian armed forces decide to attack the U.S. until the RCMP's are released.

Does the U.S. have a right to defend itself against the Canadian army?
We have sold these Militias all there arms...we know they operate here...we know they want to
take power...we know they hate the U.S. government.  So we let terrorists operate on our soil.

How can we side with Isreal for invading a country that just happened to have bad guys living there?
When we have our own bad guys living here.  Never forget Tim McVeigh,  he is the militia's hero,
yet we have done nothing to disarm them or send them to Gitmo.  WHAT GIVES?

Can't keep his hands off "his" toys

 Yahoo News

 Excerpt:
The grab-ass Monkey playfully slaps U.S. Congressman Al Green (D-TX) as he greets delegates
following his remarks at the annual convention at the NAACP in Washington July 20, 2006.om

Why can't he just act like a semi-normal man?
Think of this same monkey in 1966,
40 years less mature than he is now,

Subject: Elizabeth Smart vs Nancy Grace

I told you many many issues ago what a hack Nancy Grace is.
She was a sloppy prosecutor and a lousy attorney.
Why anybody watches this harping Coulter wannabe is beyond me.
Even more why the hell would anyone want to be on her crappy litttle show?

 SB

Nancy Grace is just another Rush wannabe.
Rush figured out that the extra-stupid people are the most easily fooled.
Set yourself up as the "law and order, hang them all" crusader, and then
label anyone who doesn't like you as "anti-law and order liberal scum."
Bush does it - same as Nancy Grace.

Hell, the extra-stupid vote, too.
That's why many of them wanted "one of us" to be president.
Who wants a smarty-pants, over-educated, reads-books guy for a president?

...but not the attacks on 9-11?

Why isn't Osama wanted for that crime?

Harlem to Clinton: you're ruining us
Gentrification forcing poor black families out

 independent.co.uk

 Excerpt:
Bill Clinton's decision to site his office in Harlem appears to have backfired.

Dozens of angry blacks demonstrated last week outside the building that houses his staff,
claiming that his move had increased the price of homes beyond their reach.

Formerly sane Neil, and others, say it was "a fuck up" for Clinton to move to Harlem.
Sounds to me that they're saying what Harlem needs is a good-old fashioned disaster,
something that will make people flee, something that will make property values drop,
something like a dirty bomb or a chemical spill that could drop the rent down to near zero.

Neil, are you on Bush's economic advisory team?

Hi, Bart,

What do the Indians have to say about your land sale suggestion?
 LizW

Liz, if I understand your question one way, the answer is Indians don't own Oklahoma.
They own the parts we didn't steal or that we gave back. But I'm not suggesting Israel
steal land, I'm saying they'd buy it - dirt cheap - from the rightful owners, be they who they may.
(That's the first time I ever used "be they who they may" in a sentence.)

If I understand your question the other way,
Indians aren't into the suicide murders of Jews.

Bush Goons taken to court

 Yahoo News

 Excerpt:
Two 55-year-old teachers decided to voice their discontent with Bush.

Christine wore a Kerry button; Alice had a sign stating "No More War."
They were handcuffed and strip searched at the county jail.
Their experience is hardly unique
Now they're going to court.

I'm not a lawyer, but I know you can get a restraining order if you have evidence.
If you know for a fact that cops are arresting every black person in the city park,
if they are arresting everybody wearing a blue shirt, or every girl with a ponytail,
you can go to a judge and get a "prior restraint order" and prevent the arrests.

But no, the Democrats can't figure that one out, either.
Apparently, nobody in the DNC is as smart as Ol' Bart - and that should be a crime, too.

The Facsist bastards giot away with that because nobody ever said, "Stop that!"
Nobody ever bothered to say, "You can't do that," even tho they did it day after day.

I told them this back in 2004, but they reject my advice - why?

It's so easy to win, but the Democrats just can't be bothered - why?

Subject: Big Dog has Stockholm syndrome?

I am dying to hear your take on Bill Clinton campaigning for Lieberman.

Yes, I'd like to hear his reasoning.
Has he said why he's doing that?

You have always railed against the Dems for stabbing Bill in the back.
Admit it ...Joe was the one who was holding the knife.

Actually, this stabbing took place years before anyone ever heard of Monica.

Democrats have a history of backstabbing their president/frontrunner.

What do you make of Bill's support when Hillary has gone on record as saying
she will not support Lieberman if he doesn't win the primary? What's the strategy here?

I'm not sure he and she have different positions. Common sense says it's smart to support
the Democratic candidate in a race, a position I wish the left-wingers would adopt.

Sorry Bart, but if you are going to be fair about this, then Bill has to don a tutu and join the chorus line.

Odd, you see this is a cowardice issue?
It would be my guess Big Dog has a rational reason for his actions.
Maybe he has said what it is, or maybe he will say what it is.

(and that was before the 2003 Halliburton Upgrade)

You heard it here first.
Oil is going to $100 a barrel, then to $200

No wonder they were so eager to start a war

Bush's "Bring 'em on" death taunt is up to...

2558....2564 American victims

That's not too high a price to pay

The Ballad of Dumb George
  by William Rivers Pitt

 truthout.org

 Excerpt:
George winged off to Russia for the G-8 summit, and managed to embarrass himself
and our entire country.  Vladimir Putin insulted George in front of the international press
with a tight quip about "democracy" in Iraq.   No trade deal got done.   The whole thing
was a humiliating waste of time, captured best by all the photos of Bush and Putin together.
In each and every one of them, Putin is looking at George with an expression that somehow
conveyed disgust, disdain and awe simultaneously.

Putin's disgust and disdain are easily understood - the poor guy was trapped in a room
with our knucklehead president for hours, after all - but the awe requires notice.
What, Putin must have thought, is this fool doing running a country?

Group: U.S. military urged abuse in Iraq

 Yahoo News

 Excerpt:
Human Rights Watch said that U.S. military commanders encouraged abusive interrogations
of detainees in Iraq, even after Abu Ghraib prison scandal called attention to the issue in 2004.

"Soldiers were told that the Geneva Conventions did not apply, and that interrogators could use
abusive techniques to get detainees to talk," wrote John Sifton, a researcher at Human Rights Watch.
The organization based that on interviews with military and sworn statements in declassified documents.

Under Bush, these reports have become so commonplace, is it even news anymore?

"If people put up with dictatorships, theocracies, totalitarian regimes
  - as they did in Nazi Germany -- they deserve what Hezbollah deserves."
    -- Pamela.   atlasshrugs2000.typepad.com/

Confusing signals...
Pamela was talking about the people of Lebanon, getting what they deserve for "putting up with"
Hezbollah, but wouldn't that also apply to all Americans for "putting up with" Bush's war crimes?

I have a question.

Why are we arming and training the Shiias to fight in Iraq
and then arming Israel to fight the Shiias in southern Lebanon?

Is it because Bush makes money every time a war breaks out?
Is it because Bush's partners are in the weapons business?
Is it because evil men will murder for riches?

premium-quality tequila, unveiled a new luxury range that included 33 solid platinum bottles
selling for $225,000 a piece.  Much of the Pasion Azteca's price tag is down to the quantity
of platinum of the bottle rather than the actual quality of the tequila inside.
