"Those terrorists will not continue to come after the American homeland.

But Sleazy, you guys CREATED that problem in Iraq when none existed.
Saddam was contained. He wasn't a problem until YOU put in just enough
troops to steal the oil but not enough to secure the country or its borders.
"They took our leader, killed his sons and stole our oil - can you help us?"
is a battle cry that reverberates throughout the Arab world..

You attacked a helpless nation with 100 million suicidal friends and
now you're warning us that they're angry and looking for revenge?

Smearing Joe Wilson again
 by Robert Parry

 consortiumnews.com

 Excerpt:
In a world that wasn't upside-down, the editorial page of Washington's biggest newspaper might praise
a whistleblower like Joe Wilson for alerting the American people to a government deception that helped
lead the country into a disastrous war that has killed 2,627 U.S. soldiers.

The editorial page also might demand that every senior administration officials who sought to protect that
deception by leaking Plame's identity, be held accountable, at minimum stripped of their security clearances
and fired from government.

But the United States, circa 2006, is an upside-down world. So the Washington Post's editorial page
instead makes excuses for the government deceivers, treats their exposure of the CIA officer as justifiable
- and attacks the whistleblower by recycling the government's false spin points against him.

If future historians wonder how the United States could have blundered so catastrophically into Iraq
under false pretenses and why so few establishment figures dared to speak out, the historians might
read the sorry pattern of the Post's editorial-page attacks on those who did dissent.

Hell, I'm so old, I remember when the WaHoPo exposed corruption.
Now it is one.

Chertoff: Getting serious
 Who needs a Constitution?

 Link

 Excerpt:
"It's not like the 20th century, where you had time to get warrants," says Chertoff.

That's a stupid clumsy lie and everyone knows it but he's depending on FOX News
and cable Nazis to give out misinformation so they can get away with it.

"Time" isn't a concern with warrants because you can get the warrant afterwards.
The difference between their way and the legal way is - the legal way leaves a trail.

If they tell a judge, "We have to spy on Hillary - she might be helping Al Qaeda,"
the FISA judge says, "I refuse to allow you to spy on your political enemies," so they
bypass the warrants so there's no proof they're watching, snooping and listening.

..
    "Fuck a bunch of warrants.
We're going do as we please."

They've abused every power they had, then re-invented more powers
that the Founding Fathers rejected and outlawed for our safety.

The Grim Cost of Losing
Bush's tone on Iraq shifts to doom and gloom

 nywhoretimes

 Excerpt:
Bush's newest effort to rebuild eroding support for his war features a distinct shift in approach:
Rather than stressing the benefits of eventual victory, he lays out the grim consequences of failure.

It is a striking change of tone for a president who prides himself on optimism and has usually
maintained that demeanor, at least in public, while his aides cast critics as defeatists.

Is there anything more dangerous than a nuke-u-lar president who's stuck in a losing hand?
Bush has nothing, but he keeps raising, betting more lives and more billions that he'll win.

Subject: You fired Malloy?

AAR: When it comes to compelling, "grab you by the guts and shake you to the core" talk radio,
I put Mike Malloy at the very top alongside Randi Rhodes.

You want to get the most bang for your buck?  Set Franken free so he can test
the political waters, write, or go back to TV, where he is always at the top of his game.
Then put Mike Malloy up against neocon enablers like Rush, Hannity, or O'Reilly.

Malloy's show is unique and ADDICTIVE. His passion is unmatched by any of his peers.
You made a TERRIBLE decision in firing Mike Malloy.

You are losing a huge chunk of your audience because of your suicidal decision making.
Fix this one thing. Bring Malloy back. We need his unbridled rage and fury NOW more than ever!
There's a HUGE election coming up, and you just got rid of the biggest set of balls that station has!
The democrats need tough-as-nails, fearless fighters leading the way.

Malloy was at the head of the pack...and you fired him.
Are you trying to lose?

I listened to Malloy religiously on AAR .
Please explain WHY he HAD to be FIRED?

Respectfully,

Fire fighter - not an actor

 cnn.com

 Excerpt:
Just days after 9-11, retired New York fireman Bob Beckwith became a symbol of strength
and helped rally a grieving nation when he stood with President Bush at Ground Zero.

Today, the 73-year-old Beckwith is an ambassador of sorts for firefighters everywhere.
He travels the globe raising money for the New York Firefighters Burn Center Foundation.

Obviously I would never intentionally give out bad information.
I read what I read about the FDNY not recognizing the dude or his uniform,
but if he was retired that might explain the lack of recognition.

I'm glad to set the record straight.

Subject: Malloy speaks

Hey, pal!

Thank you for all the support - which you've always given me, but especally the past couple of days.
Whew, Bart!
Kathy and I are rockin' and reelin'.
But . . . you know the old saying:
When someone hands you a lemon, toss 'em back a fuckin' hand grenade!

BOOM!

So, we're doing okay.
Got a couple of possibles in the oven, and hope to be airborne again soon.

We love you, Bart! We mean it.

The Malloy firing

 from yesterday's  Unofficial Update

Mike says that since Laura Flanders comes with her own sponsors, AAR doesn't have to pay her.
As Mike said, it took them about 7 seconds to make the decisions to can Mike
 Fran

We have no right to see their books, but there's a thing here:

If AAR is making real money, but, they can make
one extra nickel by screwing Malloy, they're whores.

If they are hemorrhaging money like the Titanic
and they HAD to let Mike go because his salary was such a strain
and cutting him might allow them to make payroll next month - that's another thing.

So didn't AAR just confirm everything we've heard from Rush, Hannity and O'Reilly?
That ARR is hanging on by a thread and might not be here tomorrow?

Reminder:
When AAR was on the air just 90 days, a dozen of us pooled our
money like socialists and we bought 13 commercials to play on AAR,
remember that?  I think we paid $450 each for those, and we had to
buy a dozen to get them at that price.

Soon after, I called my sales rep back and said I was interested in
another block of ads. He asked what we paid last time and I told him
$5500 for 13 commercials - and he LAUGHED.  He was very clear that
we wouldn't be getting THOSE prices again - so what's the deal?

Are the suits who run AAR, ...oh, ...I don't know  ...stupid?

If their sales department LAUGHS at $5500, doesn't that mean they're
rolling in cash?  Their product is time - they sell it for maybe $800-$1000
a minute and they can't afford Malloy?

So - is AAR going to die?
They're either on their financial deathbeds or they got greedy, right?
Which do you think it is?

With a supposedly unknown number of planes flying across the nation and crashing into buildings on 9-11,
how did the U.S. Secret Service know that Bush was safe where he sat reading to the kids about goats?

How did the they know that they were not making targets of those teachers and children?
How did the they know that they did not need to toss Bush into the back of his armored limousine?
How did the they know FOR A FACT that Bush was not a target that day?

Because they knew in advance what the targets would be?

Is the End near?
 The Great Crash of 2007

 counterpunch.org

 Excerpt:
The Fed's plan is so simple: hypnotizing the masses with low interest rates while trillions
of dollars of real wealth is diverted to corporate big-wigs and American plutocrats.

It might not be rocket science, but it worked like a charm.

Now, the trap-door has been sprung; the country is dead-broke and all the levers are in place
for a police state. As the housing-balloon slowly limps towards earth, the new Halliburton
detention centers are up and running, the National Guard is in Rummy's control, the Feds are
able to listen-in on every phone call we make.

The noose is beginning to tighten.

Subject: Election gas prices

British Petroleum announced that it was going to shut down Prudhoe Bay.
Experts said gas prices could rise above $4.00 a gallon in western states.
But with the election just 60 days away all of a sudden there's plenty of oil
and prices are dropping. What an amazing coincidence.

Are oil companies are helping Republicans get elected?
We need elections every 6 months to keep oil prices lower.

Subject: fighting fires

Hey Bart,

As a former firefighter, I thank you for making a GREAT point re the fire extinguishers!

Please also tell people to POINT THE NOZZLE AT THE BASE OF THE FIRE,
NOT AT THE FLAMES!!!

Fire needs three things to live:  heat, oxygen, and fuel.
The purpose of a fire extinguisher is to cool the burning material so that it no longer
gives off combustion-able gases--which are what is actually burning.
Pointing it at the flames DOES NOTHING to put out the fire.

Army recommends death in Iraq slayings
Were they just following orders to 'kill all military age' males?

 Link

 Excerpt:
An Army investigator has recommended that four soldiers accused of murder in a raid in Iraq
should face the death penalty if convicted, according to a report obtained Saturday by The whore AP.

Lt. Col. James Daniel concluded that the slayings were premeditated and warranted the death sentence
based on evidence he heard at an August hearing.  The soldiers, from 101st Airborne, are accused of
killing three Iraqi men taken from a house north of Baghdad.

The suspects claim they were ordered to "kill all military age males" during the raid on the island.
They were told the target was an al-Qaida training camp.

The ugliness never ends.
Take some kids from a normal life,
throw them into a "kill or be killed" situation,
then charge them with murder when they survive?

Meanwhile, Bush is stealing hundreds of millions of dollars every day.

Bush implicates Bush

Bush claims he saw the first plane hit the WTC
but there was no footage of that till days later.

I always thought he was just being 'lying bastard" Bush,
but what if he slipped up and told the truth?

I tried listening to AAR on the internet but gave up.
Every time I turned around they were running a commercial.
It reminded me of that old joke, "We now interrupt this commercial for some programming".

Anyway, I noticed it was the same commercials for the same worthless junk as advertized on Rush.
Air America Radio is like any other radio business, change the product to get more market share.
Anybody who thinks that AAR is on a mission from God to save the left is nutz.
Just like your favorite FM radio station changing format from rock to country
so they can get the pick-up truck gun rack sales advertizing.

Code cracked?

They've feigned insanity to steal the hundreds of billions of dollars.

Global warming? Not real.
Peace treaties? Not Real.
Science?  Not real.

That gives them the right-wing credibility to say,
"400,000 troops to take and secure Iraq?  No way."
"Tax cuts for the rich not working?  No way."
"Cronies can't do a good job with 9-11 and Katrina? No way."

They're faking the religion to claim, "We reject facts, we're the anti-science gang,"
which gives them license to reject logic and go bat-shit crazy claiming God told them to.

They SAY the Second Coming is soon, but they don't believe that.
They're stealing $300M a day - OF COURSE they believe in tomorrow.

It's all a hoax - follow the money.

Subject: My look into the future...

*Republicans Hold Majority in Both Houses!" *

The voters trusted Bush with "the war on terrorism" and their safety....
The voters apparently also gave a vote of confidence & assurance to Bush,
that they want to win the war in Iraq and not "Cut & Run"!

The media reporting Rove/White House spin the day after the elections.

Where electronic voting fraud accusations are being reported all across
the country concerning the Diebold electronic voting machines...
Dem's say there was massive fraud all over the country and are going to "look" into it!

Republicans say, "Prove it..." (of course there is no way to prove it
either way, with the republican owned Diebold machines)

Dem's are accused of being sore losers & sour grapes.

Republicans will take their seats, be sworn in on January 16th 2007 and continue
the Bush fascist agenda, just as the voters (or machines) said they wanted.

Hi BC,

Mike led me to your website and I love both of you.

I listened to Mike when we was on Chicago WLS ABC & I wrote to him in 1998.
Mike wrote back and he's such a gentleman. I was so happy to find him again on the
Detroit Union show (IE America?) and I couldn't understand why they shut it down.

Why do Dems destroy other Dems?
Here we have a VOICE who speaks for us and they take his mic away and deprive us
of his gift of speaking for us. Mike is a genius with the language and I have always prayed
that his health would be able to stand the strain of what is happening to our country.

I will keep fighting for Mike. I signed the petition and called the number listed to voice
my displeasure and anger without being obnoxious.  Please EVERYONE STAND UP
FOR MIKE AND GET HIS VOICE BACK ON THE AIR.
HIS IS THE VOICE OF LIBERTY AND TRUTH.

Feeling desperately sad, but I "ain't down yet."

Where is today's Smothers Brothers?
Do the kids know their story?

At the start of the 1968-69 season, CBS ordered the Smothers to deliver their shows
ten days before airdate so that the war-loving CBS censors could edit out the anti-war talk.
In the season premiere, CBS deleted the entire segment of Belafonte singing against a backdrop
of the havoc during the 1968 Democratic Convention. As the year progressed, battles over
content continued, and the Smothers became a show taking on CBS and Nixon's criminals.

The continuing problems boiled over after CBS showed a rerun on March 9, 1969.
They claimed that week's episode did not arrive in time to be previewed, but that was just a lie.
They didn't want the truth spoken on CBS.

In the "offensive" program, Baez paid tribute to her husband, who was jailed for not wanting to
go to Vietnam and kill people.  When the show finally aired later, the fascists allowed Baez to
say that her husband was in prison, but edited out the reason:  No urge to kill the innocent.

Despite the conflict, the show was picked up for the 1969-70 season on March 14. but CBS
abruptly canceled the show on April 4, 1969. The lie given by CBS was based on the Smothers'
refusal to let their work be chopped and hacked by the fascists, greed-bastard, Nixon-lovers.

It was the Number One show on TV, but CBS killed it to kiss Nixon's war-mongering ass,
just like the networks today will lie, cheat and distort for Der Monkey and his thugs.

These days, we got Neil Young, the Dixie Chicks and a few others fighting the Neo-Con fascists,
instead of the biggest show on TV that regularly drew audiences as high as 50 million people.

Where is today's version of The Smothers Brothers?
Why are Americans so willing to be screwed?

"Tubes" Stevens is Secret Senator

 Excerpt:
The identity of the blogosphere's "secret senator" has been revealed.

Sen. Ted Stevens, (R-Tubes) has a hold on a bill that would require the government
to publish online a database of federal spending.

"He does have a hold on the bill," Stevens' aide told CNN. "At the time he placed the hold he notified
Sen. Tom Coburn (R-Jesus Twin) and his staff and identified several questions we had with the bill."

Senate tradition allows any senator to keep any legislation from reaching the Senate floor
by placing a hold on the bill.

Hey Bart, here's a WPE sighting from the anti-Bush protest in Salt Lake City on Wednesday 8/30.
This is from a local political columnist, Paul Rolly, who does small local interest tidbits:

stranger than the middle-age guy wearing only a see-through chain-link vest and tighty-whitey underpants.

When asked what fashion statement he was making the man bent over to display his briefs,
which were stenciled with Bush's face and the words 'WORST PRESIDENT EVER!' "
