Al-Qaeda's Fragile Foothold
  by Robert Parry

 consortiumnews.com

 Excerpt:
A newly disclosed internal al-Qaeda communiqué reveals a divided organization with only a
fragile foothold in Iraq, hoping U.S. troops will stay long enough to give it time to build alliances
with often-antagonistic Iraqi insurgents and other Sunni leaders.

The letter, dated Dec. 11, 2005, was from a senior al-Qaeda operative known as "Atiyah" to Zarqawi.
Atiyah told Zarqawi that "the most important thing is that the jihad continues with steadfastness and
firm rooting, and that it grows in terms of supporters, strength, clarity of justification, and visible
proof each day. Indeed, prolonging the war is in our interest." [Emphasis added.]

Atiyah's assessment that "prolonging the war is in our interest" flies in the face of Bush's argument
that a prompt U.S. military withdrawal would amount to a major victory for al-Qaeda.

Subject: Sleazy and July 10, 2001

BC,

When I read the story about the Tenet - Rice meeting that Rice can't seem to remember because
remembering it would be to admit she lied to the 9/11 Whitewash Commission, the date of the
meeting stuck out for some reason. July 10, 2001.

At first I thought that might have been the day John Ashcroft stopped flying on commercial airliners,
but no, that was July 26 - 16 days after the meeting. To my knowledge, Ashcroft has never explained
why he stopped flying. I think if we could get the answer to that, we might know a good deal more
about what really happened that summer. And isn't it strange how Ashcroft has just dropped off the
national stage since he left the Justice Department? He's been quietly "retired".

Then I remembered. July 10 was the day Arizona FBI agent Ken Williams sent a memo to FBI HQ
which said, "Warns of a possible effort by Osama bin Laden to send students to the US to attend
civil aviation universities and colleges" [Fortune, 5/22/2002] , so they can later hijack aircraft.
[Die Zeit (Hamburg), 10/1/2002]"

Jeff

Jeff, the Whitewash Commission did ask Ashcroft about that. He gave some non-answer like,
"I just felt it was time for a change," then the bastards accepted that handjob of an excuse and
went on to the next question.

They never had any intention of getting to the bottom of everything.
They were hand-picked by Bush to ensure the outcome up-front.

New Fears For the GOP
Party Could Lose House and Senate

 WaHoPo

 Excerpt:
Fascist strategists say that public revulsion over the sexually vulgar conversations between Foley
and his teenage victims could compound the Fascist's problems enough to tip the House to the
Democrats in November -- and could jeopardize the party's hold on the Senate as well.

As Fascist House leaders defended their cover-up, party strategists said the scandal threatens to
depress turnout among Christian conservatives and could hamper efforts to convince undecided
and swing voters that Republicans deserve to remain in the majority.

There was intense anger among social conservative activists in Washington yesterday, and some,
including the Moonie Times, called for the Sweaty Wrestler to resign.

Subject: yesterdays 'handjobs laughing'

Mr. Bart,

You posted the AP article about the supposed hijackers laughing.
This is a fake.

How about linking to http://infowars.net/articles/October2006/031006faketerror.htm -
"Atta's Father Says Video Fake, Credibility of 'Hijackers Tape' Crumbles"

 Excerpt:
New revelations about the so-called 'laughing hijackers' tape expose its release as a stage-managed
politically timed trick. The father of Mohammed Atta blasts the video as a "fake" while contradictory
claims of its origin and nature baffle even mainstream terror experts - while even the media admits
that the tape was released not by Al-Qaeda but by the U.S. intelligence apparatus...
 tquig

I wish someone with credibility would look into this.

Our lying government has listed the 19 hijackers responsible for 9-11, but rumors are swirling
that those 19 men are actually alive and, as you suggest, that seems to be true to some extent.

In the last 5 years, the families of some hijackers have come forward and said,
"My son is alive, I talked to him last week, but he's afraid to show his face in public."

Did the hijackers use stolen IDs to buy their tickets? I'm not a conspiracy man per se, but we know
our crooked government is covering something up - we just don't know what it is. We had a chance
to find out, but sellout bastards like Richard Ben-Venista and Bob Kerrey sold us out.

One thing: Be wary of web sites that blame Israel and swear they have "proof."

If we could interest the Democrats in winning, maybe we'll have a real 9-11 investigation - someday.

Records show Rice Lied

                      "You don't deserve the truth!"

 Link

 Excerpt:
A review of White House records has determined that George J. Tenet did brief Sleazy
on July 10, 2001, about the looming threat from Al Qaeda, the State Department said Monday.

Rice told reporters that she did not recall the meeting, noting that she had met repeatedly
with Tenet that summer about terrorist threats.  Sleazy said it was "incomprehensible"
she ignored dire terrorist threats two months before the Sept. 11 attacks.

Yet the facts prove she did.

When details of the meeting emerged last week in Woodward's book, Bush bastards questioned
Woodward's reporting.  Now, after several days of back-pedaling, the Bush bastards have been
forced to conceed Woodward's account was accurate.

Ben-Veniste comes clean
Democrat admits they covered for Bush

 dailykos.com

Excerpt:
9/11 Commissioner Richard Ben-Veniste confirmed that George Tenet had given secret testimony to the
Whitewash about his attempts to convince the White House about the urgency of the threat from bin Laden
in the summer of 2001. Tenet told the 9/11 Commission he was willing to testify publicly about the briefings
he'd given Rice -- and Ashcroft and Rumsfeld! -- in July 2001, and he'd even showed the commissioners
slides from the PowerPoint presentation he'd prepared for the July briefings.

Ben-Veniste did NOT explain why the 9/11 Commissioners left these briefings out of their report - or why
he (as late as yesterday) was still lying about what the 9/11 Commission knew.

Ben-Veniste and Kerrey and other Democrats must have had some animosity towards Clinton.
Remember Kerrey telling reporters that Clinton was "an exceptionally good liar?"

Bush stacked the jury with traitors who would help him cover up the goddamn truth about 9-11

Random thought...

Hastert, the Sweaty Pervert, is calling for an investigation - of himself?

Boner and Reynolds say they told him months ago or even last year.
Does Sweaty want the FBI to decide which Republican is lying?

Blunt has thrown his support behind Sweaty, but Blunt is #3 and HE
was told about this Foley predator months ago - and HE did nothing.

Boner went on some Facist radio show yesterday and said
he told Sweaty months ago but Sweaty did nothing.

Which Republican is lying?

Subject: C(r)ooked Rice

From Monday's New York Times, re the July 10, 2001, meeting where Tenet
warned Kinda Sleazy about a looming attack from al-Qaeda:

"State Department Spokesman Sean McCormack said the records showed that far from
ignoring Tenet's warnings, Rice acted on the intelligence and requested that Tenet make
the same presentation to Rumsfeld and John Ashcroft, then the attorney general."

So that's his idea of "acting on the intelligence" -- she pawned Tenet off on arguably
the two most certifiable wackos in the entire cabal.

Tell me, Sean, what else did she do?
Did she inform the Mass Murderer from Midland?
Did she call for an emergency Principals meeting?
She was the f-ing NATIONAL SECURITY ADVISOR,
you disgusting piece of vermin.  (Apologies to vermin.)

She washed her hands of the whole thing, that's what she did.
And thousands died, and are still dying.

Foley was no secret in DC
So why did the whore press protect him?

 Link

 Excerpt:
The real wonder of the Mark Foley scandal may be how it stayed under wraps for so long.

Gee, could it be because the press won't cover GOP scandals?

As the story continued to pick up steam, Capitol Hill journalists came out of the woodwork
to declare that they, too, knew that the Florida Republican had a reputation for coming on to
teenage Congressional pages. One D.C. reporter recounted getting a number of email printouts
from a source in May - the same messages that eventually brought about Foley's downfall after
they turned up last week on an anonymous blog called Stop Sex Predators. The reporter said
she found the emails "inappropriate and a little bit creepy," but not newsworthy enough to get
her editor's support for a full-blown investigation.

When Gingrich was Speaker of the House, he charged hooker fees to his credit card but
the whore press refused to print the story.

When the Clinton rumors hit, the entire press ran with it like a dog with a stolen ribeye
They created entire TV networks to run any wild-ass rumor Drudge could fabricate and
the Whore NY Times printed every unfoiunded allegation on the front page above the fold.

When the sponsor of the Exploited Children law was caught sexing up children,
the whore press refused to print the story.

If they would just print the facts, we could call it news.
But in America, the press exists to push the Facist agenda.

Pirro's Predicament
Jeanine - no luck with men

"I'm guilty, but I blame others."

 Link

 Excerpt:
The latest scandal involving the brightest female star in the New York GOP involves her
seeking out Bernard Kerik to bug her husband and find out whether he was cheating on her.

The issue at the time was whether Pirro would run for attorney general, governor, or US senator.
Her explanation for why it was taking her so long to decide was her mother's illness. At the time
she was publicly supposed to be worrying about her mother's illness, she was privately worrying
about whether her husband, who is referred to rather graphically on the tapes, was cheating on her.

Mrs. Pirro is crying foul in the investigation, claiming the whole thing was politically motivated.
She says it was an underling in the prosecutor's office who was politically motivated. But the US
attorney responsible for the investigation is a fellow Republican, which makes her claim a bit weak.

Foley: Blame the Catholics

 Link

 Excerpt:
Foley, working on damage control and rehab, now claims he was sexually abused as a teen.

Lawyer David Roth said Foley was molested between ages 13 and 15 by a clergyman.
He declined to identify the clergyman or the church, but Foley is Roman Catholic.

Mark does not blame the trauma he sustained for his pedophelia, Roth said.

Is there a link between being abused and being gay?
If so, that would make being gay "learned behavior," as opposed to genetic.

Any thoughts on this?

Subject: Debbie Stabenow voted for torture

Yestarday, Trudi said she can't support Stabenow because of her vote for the torture bill.
Democrats have such a hard time winning elections because of people like Trudi who decide
not to support the Democrat based on one vote.

Are you saying giving Bush the legal power to torture is "just another bill?

I guess Trudi would rather have a Republican in Stabenow's place because of a single vote by
Stabenow that Trudi didn't agree with.  The torture bill was going to pass regardless if every Dem
voted against it because the GOP had enough votes to pass it without any Democratic help.

Why didn't the Democrats filibuster?
Are they saving that for something important?

Every Dem who voted against the torture bill would be labeled as "soft on terrorists" by the GOP.
Unfortunately, the mindless morons that make up a large part of the voting public would believe them
because they don't take the trouble to inform themselves. Republicans candidates win because
regardless how immoral their candidates might be the Republicans support them at the ballot box.

Would Senator Wild Bill have voted to give Bush the legal power to torture?

Kissinger's Bad Advice on Iraq
  by Ivan Eland

 consortiumnews.com

 Excerpt:
The real surprise in Woodward's book is that the Bush administration's main advisor during the war
has been Henry Kissinger.  Kissinger apparently has convinced the Bush White House that any troop
withdrawals from Iraq will start a wave of public pressure to pull out all U.S. forces from Iraq.
He is probably right in this analysis.

But Kissinger missed the main lesson of Vietnam and is now missing it in Iraq. As the U.S. generals in
Iraq know, killing more Sunni insurgents and Shi'ite militiamen than the United States loses of its own
troops will not win a war that is fundamentally political.

As Lieutenant General William Odom has noted, the Iraq situation will continue to deteriorate and the
United States will eventually be forced to withdraw from Iraq. So withdrawing sooner, rather than later,
according to Odom, will save U.S. lives and money and salvage what international prestige the US has left.

If Nixon and Kissinger had followed similar advice in Vietnam, the United States, its military, and its
international standing would not have been tarnished by four additional years of war. And even worse
than Vietnam, continued U.S. occupation of Iraq is fueling and worsening the Islamic terrorist threat
to the United States, according to an estimate from Bush's own intelligence agencies.

Subject: Foley

So much evil has sprung from the same dark place in our Republican government, perhaps this
latest manifestation, the predatory pervert Mark Foley, will finally spark the public conscience to act.

This same dark impulse cuts funds for the rehabilitation and care of our disabled soldiers. This darkness
is also manifest in the sole veto by this President to assure his allowance to torture. The tortured will say
anything; the military discarded it long ago not just because it was cowardly and despicable, but because
it doesn't work. There is only one sense in which it is effective: it delights the evil of the torturer.

This same dark cruelty operating through Congress protects American Saipan sweat shops that force
worker abortions. It manifests through the grandfathering of dirty power plants that sicken and kill poor
children in Texas. It nominates Arnold Schwarzenegger to high office, whose movies are the porno-violent
portrayal of the graphical slaughter of thousands. It hates loving relationships among same sex couples,
preferring to protect those who provided the legal cover for the anal rape of Abu Ghraib prisoners.

Republicans continue to delight in the perverted abuse of power culminating in neglect, sadism, torture,
and death. Their cowering behind the flag and the cross fools no one any longer. Now is the time for
all true patriots to rise to the defense of the beloved country, our Constitution, and our common
decency to drive all those responsible from office and into the justice system, so we can finally purge
ourselves of the evil among us.

Subject: Foley scandal helps the GOP?

Many Republicans are worried the congressman Mark Foley's child sex scandal will hurt
Republicans in this year's elections. But it may end up helping them because it draws attention
away from all the other scandals that might affect the election even more.

The Foley scandal distracts from Bush's network of secret torture camps.
The Foley scandal distracts from the fact that the war in Iraq is making terrorism worse.
The Foley scandal distracts from the fact that Osama bin Laden is still free.
The Foley scandal distracts from the fact that Iraq is in a civil war.
The Foley scandal distracts from the fact that 2700+ soldiers died in Iraq for nothing.
The Foley scandal distracts from the fact that we are now losing the war in Afghanistan, too.
The Foley scandal distracts from the Jack Abramoff and Tom Delay scandals.
The Foley scandal distracts from the fact that Bush let New Orleans die.
The Foley scandal distracts from the fact that the national debt is about to exceed 10 trillion dollars.
The Foley scandal distracts from the Abu Ghraib scandal. And Haliburton's no bid contracts, global
warming, the failed war in Lebanon, failed diplomacy with Iran and North Korea, ignoring the Geneva
Conventions, the United Nations, and the Anti-ballistic missle treaty, warrantless wire tapping of our
phone conversations, no weapons of mass destruction, and Bob Woodward's latest book "State of Denial".

So although this sex scandal is bad for Republicans, it isn't nearly as bad as all the other scandals.
Besides Clinton won with a sex scandal. I think Republicans are better off dealing with a sex scandal
than dealing with a record of failure.

TV Stuff

Last night, the Veronica Mars premier was on the "CW," whatever that is.
She graduated high school last May, so now she's a fresh-woman at Cali's Hearst U.
She solved a new murder mystery before the opening credits.

A great show, they say, is about to get better because they're in trouble.
If the second or third best show on TV can't draw a crowd in the next 13 weeks,
the network will drop them, ...but the Earth will continue to spin if that happens.

It's possible that the ratings will crash and burn, ... but then be reborn like the cast
of Sports Night, which turned into West Wing and then turned into Studio 60.

If this show dies, I expect most of the major players will go on to better careers,
but the magic of the original Veronica Mars show can't be reproduced

People complain about the crap that's on TV,
so why not support a smart, funny show that's one of the best?

Marc hosts several other political sites including American Politics Journal, Political StrikesFaux News Channel, Seeds of Doubt and interesting sites like the
Church of Reality - a religion based on believing in everything that is real.

Our motto for this year is - "No Anti-Bush Site Left Behind". So - if you have an anti-bush site and you are  choking on hosting fees or dealing with threats - let us know and we'll help keep you online.

We also have that strongest server side spam filtering on the planet.
Check out Marx Mail for info on how you can have a Spam Free Email Account.
