Bush loves the torture

 guardian.co.uk

 Excerpt:
The forensic psychiatrist who examined Jose Padilla says that he "does not appreciate the nature and
consequences of the proceedings against him, is unable to render assistance to counsel, and has
impairments in reasoning as the result of a mental illness, ie, post-traumatic stress disorder, complicated
by the neuropsychiatric effects of prolonged isolation". José Padilla appears to have been lobotomised:
not medically, but socially. If this was an attempt to extract information, it was ineffective...

Bush and Ashcroft made a big deal out of stopping Padilla before he blew up America.
But when the Supreme Court said he had to charge padilla, they didn't charge him with
trying to blow up America because they didn't have any evidence that would hold up.

So they charged him with whatever "crimes" they could think of, instead.

Why would it be dangerous to let him see where he was walking?
Why would it be dangerous for him to hear his surroundings?

This is an American citizen - denied his "inalienable" rights.
That's what happens when Fascism runs our government.

He might be guilty as hell, but we'll never know because Bush threw away the Constitution
so this guilty-or-unlucky American is going to rot in jail until he dies or until Bush leaves office.

Subject: Dixie Chicks vs Clear Channel

What I find amusing is that Clear Channel has been broken up and sold off
while the Dixie Chicks were nominated for about 7 or 8 Grammies this year.

I think the people in Montana, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Texas and Florida
need to stand up and take some responsibility for voting in the Bush Disasters.
Because of that handjobbery, America is in deep trouble.

They should at least lose some electoral votes or something because clearly they are
idiots who (allegedly) picked Bush both times because the other guy was smarter.

I think New York and Cali should pick next,
not the morons who gave us the worst president ever.

Standing Ovation For the Dixie Chicks

 Link

 Excerpt:
I say: lets give a standing ovation for the Dixie Chicks who had the courage,
the guts, the spirit to speak the truth and pay the price.

If the editorial writers of the Washington Post were the Dixie Chicks,
perhaps America would not have gone to war.

If Republicans in Congress in 2002 were the Dixie Chicks, if Democrats in Congress
in 2002 were the Dixie Chicks, if Cheney and Rumsfeld in 2002 were the Dixie Chicks,
2937 Gold Star mothers would be spending Christmas with their sons and daughters.

The Saudis Grim 'What If'?

 nywhoretimes.com

 Excerpt:
Saudi Arabia has told the Bush administration that it might provide financial backing to Iraqi Sunnis
in any war against Iraq's Shiites if the United States pulls its troops out of Iraq, according to American
and Arab diplomats...The Saudis have been wary of supporting Sunnis in Iraq because their insurgency
there has been led by extremists of Al Qaeda, who are opposed to the kingdom's monarchy.
But if Iraq's sectarian war worsened, the Saudis would line up with Sunni tribal leaders.

Bush started the war to end all wars.
Millions of suicidal handjobs can't wait to kill some kids and claim their 72 virgins.

Bush did this.

Subject: So Kos' readers are Nazis?

Bart, you published the following:

> "They line up in lock step (goose-step?) and never question their leaders."

Considering you choose to run the above quote without comment,
I'm assuming you endorse the insinuation that Kos' readers are Nazis.

No, that would be crazy talk and I try to avoid talking that way.
You're right - I should not have let that go by without comment.

But...

It should be OK to ask the question,

"How can the Democratic front runner score one percent
in a semi-scientific poll of over 11,000 Kos readers?"

Assuming the poll wasn't fixed, how is that possible?
11,000 votes actually puts some science in the poll - unless it's fixed.

This kind of discourse seems even beyond Rove, though I guess I can understand the sentiment.
You've been doing your site for 10 years, yet you have one tenth the viewers (according to Alexa).
I suppose the jealousy is understandable.

ha ha

Sure, who wouldn't want to make Kos money, but that's not the subject here.
The subject is you're upset that I missed the alleged Nazi reference.
Sometime the page gets put together at 90 MPH.

Kos' readers have a real effect on elections, raising 1.5 million for Democratic candidates.
Obama, Edwards are posting to talk directly to the readers. Rahm Emmanuel is posting
to thank the readers for their help electing Democrats.

Yeah, but where's the tequila talk?  The trip reports?  The Shirley pictures?

You on the other hand, use your site to pimp Consortium News
and take cheap shots at anyone who doesn't endorse your presidential candidate.
 Matt

I don't make a profit when I say  consortiumnews.com  is the most important site on the internet,
so your characterization of me as their "pimp" might not be grounded in a bedrock of accuracy.

Your assertion that I take shots at those who don't endorse "my" candidate is crazy talk.
I just think Democrats shouldn't Swift Boat our front runner.

Am I asking too much?

Bush takes vacation from Iraq
He's decided to worry about it next year

 Link

 Excerpt:
Bush on Tuesday put off until January announcing a new approach to the Iraq war, and Sleazy Rice
said Bush should take whatever time necessary because, after all, it's not like people are dying there.

Bush's spokesliar indicated that Bush would deliver the speech before Christmas.
While his henchmen said Bush had largely decided on where he wants to go,
he gave no public hint of his plan at a meeting with Iraq's Sunni vice president.

Subject: tax the churches

Since most of the religious right voted and promoted this ungodly quagmire we're stuck in,
let's start a campaign to start taxing churches to help us defray the cost.  Whattya say?

I have no problem taxing religiously insane warmongers and pedophiles, and I bet
I'm not alone in this.  What do you think it would be worth, let's say, annually?

Happy Trails,
Kevin K.

Kevin, it's a crime for the religious charlatans to scare the sick and the old into giving them money.
But we are a nation of religious insanity so nobody dares to address this ongoing problem.

People want to think there's life after death, so the crooked people sell that lie for BIG money.
I'm all for taxing the churches.

Subject: Demo ticket '08

Clinton/Obama?
(gasp) Clinton/Gore?
or.... Gore/Clinton?
or is it Gore/Rodham? not sure
Gore/Feingold? (my personal favorite)
Clinton/Clark?
Gore/Clark?
Obama/Clark?
(longshot, but best for the nation) Clark/Feingold or Feingold/Clark

Man, I dunno, but it seems to me the GOP ticket will be McCain and Giuliani, with the primary loser
getting the VP slot. If that's  the best they can do, and the Dems have any of the options named above,
I think we'll see war crimes charges brought up against Bu$hco  in '09.  One can hope.

Here's a good read on Gore's strategery for entering the fray, from Firedoglake.
There's a clear anti-She slant, but we all know that's par for the course.

I like Gore more than She as future president, but I'm with you about the voting for the frontrunner :) .
Either way it's moot for me, as I'm  not a US citizen... it's more of a spectator sport for me.

Random thought...

The most recent E Coli scare at Taco Bell?
I saw something that's truly insane:

The onions that caused the problem were picked in California,
then shipped alllll the way to to New Jersey to be washed.
That means the veggies were marinating on deadly E Coli sauce all that time.

Wouldn't it make more sense to ship washed onions?

I don't eat much at Taco Bell, but if I did, I wouldn't mind paying
and extra nickle for my meal if it wasn't marinated in E Coli sauce.

Bart,

It pisses me off how Limbaugh, Ed Rogers, et al are referring to him as "Barrack Hussein Obama".
Its my understanding that Hussein is a common name in Kenya where his old man was from, no?

The Republicans are trying to make him sound Arab or Muslim in order to slam him.
This is f-ing obnoxious and racist.  I hope the whore press calls them on this.

Clinton-Obama Ticket Scares GOP
Maybe the GOP will run two old, white oil men again?

 Link

 Excerpt:
While Democratic strategists are more skeptical of a ticket composed of two minorities,
some Republican advisers to the White House and McCain (Loves Torture) and Giuliani
see the ticket as an easy winner built on the enthusiasm it would generate in Democratic circles.

Their theory is that Clinton would stand a good chance to pick up the states that Kerry won.
While not enough to win the election on her own, the addition of Obama would help make
states like Ohio Democratic, thereby giving the Clinton-Obama ticket the White House.

You heard it here first.
This gives Obama some on-the-job training before taking the big chair in 2016.

Augusto and Jeane
 by David Corn

 smirkingchimp.com

 Excerpt:
Was it a cosmic coincidence that Jeane Kirkpatrick and Augusto Pinochet died within days
of one another? (I'll skip the nearly obligatory comment about a post-earthly reunion.) Given all
the flattering obits the former UN ambassador received, the final departure of the Chilean dictator
was a timely reminder that Kirkpatrick cozied up to murderers and torturers. In fact, she provided
the Reagan administration--in which she served--with the theoretical framework for bear-hugging brutes.

Kirkpatrick also first lied,"The Democrats are the 'Blame America first' crowd,"
which is code talk for, "My country is never to blame - ever - for anything - ever!"

Jeane Kirkpatrick was a Democrat turned lying whore.

Subject: cut & run prior to 2008

Over the last several years the Republicans have been accusing the Democrats of wanting
to cut and run. Now it's the Republicans who want to cut and run. They want Bush out of Iraq
before the 2008 New Hampshire primary. However the Republicans are stuck with Bush and
there's nothing they can do about it, other than to ask him to step down. Bush on the other hand
is concerned about the judgment of history and if he will be known as the Worst President Ever (WPE).

So will Bush sacrifice his legacy and cut and run before New Hampshire?
Or will he stay the course and let Iraq melt down?

And with a 10 trillion dollar national debt will anyone believe that the Republicans are the party
of fiscal responsibility? Will they try to blame it on the Clintons, the Liberals and Hollyweird?
Bush is going to do what's best for Bush and in two years the Republicans
are going to hate Bush more than the Democrats do.

Marc Perkel
San Bruno, CA.

I agree.
Bush is poison and to win in 2008, the Republicans must publicly reject him.

Will they remain loyal to Bush to the end and lose more power and the White House?

History on Bush
Even USA Whore Today admits it

 Link

 Excerpt:
History's view of Der Fuhrer will be harsh, Americans predict. In a USA TODAY/Gallup Poll,
a 54% majority says Bush will be judged as a below-average or poor president, more than double
the negative rating given any of his five most recent predecessors. Just 19% expect him to be seen
as outstanding or above average, placing him last among the six. Bush now trails three presidents
who were rejected for second terms, including his father, George Herbert Herbert Bush.

There can be no doubt - Bush is THE worst president ever.

Subject: the anti-Hillary poll on Kos

It's a poll only on the readers there. Very unscientific.

Last time I checked it has 11,000 voters, which is kind of scientific.
If you ask 5 people who they're voting for - that's not science.
The major polls only ask about 1200 people, and they have a margin of error of about 3 %.
But when you ask 11,000, that's pretty damn scientific.
Of course, if the voting's rigged, Kos should mention that.

Also, Kos  himself is not endorsing anyone yet.

He's made his dislike with the Democratic front runner crystal clear.
Reminder: When the networks need a Hillary-can't-win quote, they go to dailykos.com

So the opinions there are not  top down and dictated by the host of that site.

Can you say that for sure?
What else would explain the front runner getting about zero percent?
What explains the vast majority refusing to vote,
while the Hillary-haters line up to vote - one-by-one?

I can't explain why  there is so much anti-Hillary sentiment there, but it is
absolutely not because of some kind of group following of Markos.
 Mark

I think it's possible that you're mistaken.
What other conclusion does the evidence suggest?
