Cheney OK
after Afghan Blast; 23 killed
Even God can't kill the Devil
Link
Excerpt:
A suicide bomber attacked the entrance to the
main U.S. military base in Afghanistan on Tuesday during a visit
by El Diablo, killing up to 23 people and wounding
20. Cheney was unhurt in the attack, which was claimed by
the Taliban and was the closest that militants
have come to a top U.S. official visiting Afghanistan. At least one
U.S. soldier, an American contractor and a South
Korean solder were among the dead, NATO said.
Cheney, who visited with Puppet President Hamid
Karzai and then left the country two hours after the blast,
said the attackers were trying "to find ways
to question the authority of the central government."
The murderer had spent the night at the sprawling
Bagram Air Base, and it was about 10 a.m. when the
explosion sent up a plume of smoke visible by
reporters accompanying. U.S. military officials declared a "red alert."

Michelle Malkin had made it clear she despises
the mainstream media and holds the Post in contempt.
She has written that the WaHoPo's managing editor
displays an "anti-American mindset" and has
specifically singled Howie Kurtz (R-Whore) out
for being a dishonest and incompetent reporter.
That's true.
I've never agreed with Malkin before, but she
nailed that one.
Talk about tension. The lunch and the subsequent
feature could have set off some real fireworks with
Kurtz not only defending his work and the Post's
reputation, but pressing Malkin hard to explain her
wild and often fact-free allegations against
journalists. Instead, the profile, which skated over Malkin's
anti-media rants as well as her loathing of the
Post, was published as a Valentine's Day week mash note,
presenting Malkin as a pugnacious, on-the-rise
pundit who has her liberal critics up in arms. ush'

Subject: Public Servants must
be loyal to the people
There is talk that Bush might order an illegal
attack against Iran and there is also talk that several
generals might refuse to cooperate with that
plan. We are a nation of the people, by the people,
and for the people. That means that the people
come first.
Government workers are suppose to follow the lawful
orders of their superiors. The key phrase here
being "lawful" If you are a government worker
and your superior or your president orders you to do
something that is not lawful then you are obligated
to refuse to act on that order.
You must say "no" because your loyalty is to the
people, not the president. So if the order comes to
attack Iran and the Congress hasn't authorized
it then it is your duty to refuse to obey. If the president
commits treason and you go along with it then
you are a party to that treason. I am asking all public
servants and members of the military to remember
that you serve the people, not the government,
and not the president.
Marc Perkel

Great letter - what would the military do if Bush ordered them to use
tactical nukes on Iran?
They said when Nixon was in his Final days, when he barked a command
at someone,
they would look at Al Haig and Haig would nod to indicate if the order
was to be followed.
Since Cheney is at least as crazy as Bush, who will be our Al Haig?

Bush's popularity rating in Kentucky is dismal
(37%)-- but that hasn't stopped Mitch "His Bitch" McConnell

They love Bush for the tax breaks. Most working
and middle class people in Kentucky have felt the pinch
of Bush's crappy economic policies. The ones

him and McConnell. And it doesn't matter to them
that most people in the state are opposed to their war policies."

Subject: Gore vs Arianna
I read Arianna and Huffpost is my home page.
Her constant screeching against Hillary has worn
pretty thin.
Hillary achieved everything that Arianna failed
to achieve.
She wanted to be the wife of a congressman even
if she had to marry a gay man to do.
I can imagine she dreamed of power parties she
would throw in Washington and the political power she'd wield there.
Her jealousy of Hillary shines through her 'impartial'
exterior.
Anybody
who could read knew that Gore never claimed to invent the internet
although he was a crucial element
in its invention.
Anybody
who could read knew he was instrumental in bringing the Love Canal
situation to the public's attention.
Anybody
who could read knew that Gore and room mate Tommy Lee Jones
were the basis for Love Story.
Rather than being laden with untruths from him
it was laden with untruths of others like Arianna
who jumped on the 'Gore is a liar' bandwagon
without checking the facts.
Much like the policies of the Bush administration
who went to war on a lie.
Even if Gore had been lying about Love Story and
Love Canal
his lie wouldn't have killed 3000 troops.

Subject: Hillary haters
Where is this Hillary hate on our side is coming
from?
I'm worried that if Hillary gets the party nod,
people like Cindy Sheehan or the Nader followers
will preach the message there's no difference
between a Hillary Clinton White House and a
McCain/Rudy the crossdresser White House, which
could take votes away and once again
we'd be stuck with a right wing president for
another four years.
I respect and honor Cindy Sheehan, but I question
her method of helping the soldiers in Iraq IF
she's telling her supporters not to support the
Clinton camapign because if McCain or Rudy
the crossdresser become president the war isn't
going to end anytime soon.

Each time we hear a talk radio Nazi say "She can't win," it means

Subject: CIA-Iraq evidence
Bart and Hillary bashers keep arguing about the
evidence used to justify the Iraq war.
If I remember events correctly, you are both
right.
The "slam-dunk" evidence presented by the Bush
administration in testimony before the intelligence
committee was misleading if not outright false.
The evidence presented by the CIA in the backing
documents had a much different picture, but a
senator had to make a special trip to a secret back room
to read the documents. Senator Graham,
the chairman of the committee, was one of the few that actually
did his job when he read the documents. He opposed
the war based on that evidence.
Most of the war supporters on the Democratic side
did not. Looking back on these events, Hillary seems
awful cavalier and detached about this war.
At times, her rhetoric sounds just like Joe Lieberman.
If she is the nominee, I will support her, but
can't we find someone with better judgement?
James B
James, I gotta ask:
If Graham knew for sure, why didn't he speak up?
Why didn't he filibuster the war bill?
Any senator can filibuster without having to give his/her reasons.
Why didn't he call a special meeting with every Democrat and say,
"By law, I can't tell you what evidence I've
seen, but trust me, this war is bogus!"
Why didn't he do those things?
Could it be that Bush's lies are much more transparent now than they
were 4-5 years ago?

Choosing
our leaders
by Paul Krugman
roziusunbound.blogspot.com
Excerpt:
Six years ago a man unsuited both by intellect
and temperament ended up running the country.
How did that happen? First, he got the Republican
nomination by locking up the big money early.
Then, he got within chad-and-butterfly range of
the White House because the public, enthusiastically
encouraged by many in the news media, treated
the presidential election like a high school popularity
contest. The successful candidate received kid-gloves
treatment - and a free pass on the fuzzy math
of his policy proposals - because he seemed like
a fun guy to hang out with, while the unsuccessful
candidate was subjected to sniggering mockery
over his clothing and his mannerisms.
Today, with thousands of Americans and tens of
thousands of Iraqis dead thanks to presidential folly,
with Al Qaeda resurgent and Afghanistan on the
brink, you'd think we would have learned a lesson.

Subject: Gore and the truth
Hey bart,
Thought i'd drop a refresher on the gore-is-a-liar
stories,
since these things tend to be forgotten so quickly.
He never claimed to have invented the internet;
that was made up by the GOP.
He was, however, one of the first senators to
support funding for research into internet
infrastructure, so in truth, he was politically
instrumental in getting the internet to where it is.
http://sethf.com/gore/
He never claimed to have discovered the love canal
toxic waste site;
That was a lie from the NY Whore Times and the
Washington Whore Post.

As for Love Story, the writer conceded
that Gore was a partial inspiration for the character.

Damn, arianna sucks, doesn't she?,
I remember when that Love Story sham was going around, Cokie Roberts,
who at the time was the stupidest whore in all of Washington, said:
"Al Gore wants us to believe that Love Story
is based on him, but in Love Story,
his wife dies and Tipper is still alive,
so how stupid does Al Gore think we are?"
Trust me, Cokie, you can
not be as stupid as I think you are.
There's no way possible anybody
could be as stupid as *I* think you are.
