It's Not Just Walter Reed

 WaHoPo

 Excerpt:
Sandy Karen was horrified when her 21-year-old son was discharged from the Naval Medical Center
in San Diego a few months ago and told to report to the outpatient barracks, only to find the room
swarming with fruit flies, trash overflowing and a syringe on the table. "The staff sergeant says,
'Here are your linens' to my son, who can't even stand up," said Karen, of Brookeville, Md.

"This kid has an open wound, and I'm going to put him in a room with fruit flies?" She took her son
to a hotel instead. "My concern is for the others, who don't have a parent or someone to fight for them,"
Karen said. 'These are just kids. Who would have ever looked in on my son?' "

Subject: Bush as Kaiser; America as Germany

A century of bloody warfare on their soil finally convinced the western Europeans that the fascist/monarchial
structure with its nationalistic mythology had to go.  The post-WWII Europeans might be the first 'civilized'
people on the planet.  Not so for America, who in its splendid two-ocean, one-language isolation is in the
process of recreating 1870 Germany, with 'oil' as our lebensraum.  Apparently humans are incapable of
learning anything from history; they have to personally plunge off that same cliff before the light goes on.

So we watch as America's fascist rulers, enabled by the fiction of "corporate personhood", led by our own
Bismarck (Cheney), under the banner of the royal Bush family with Dubya as the inbred Kaiser, drag the
entire world through a 21st Century version of total trench warfare, using the same lies and propaganda
techniques that haven't changed one iota from the Kaiser's preemptive march through neutral Belgium under
the pretense that France "might" be preparing to attack Germany (WMD's anyone?).  The "Bush as Hitler"
comparisons are way off the mark; America is just now completing is Bismarckian phase, it has a ways to go
before it reaches a Nazi-like level of complete cultural insanity.  This is both good news and bad news.

If we halt it now we can prevent the equivalent of two world wars, but if America is no further along the track
to civilization than Germany was in 1914, then our poor planet may have half a century of devastation ahead of it,
including the rising of a "new Hitler", while it waits for America to grow up.

The question:  Will we grow up in 2008 with only 5,000 Americans and 100,000 Iraqis dead, or in 2058
with 1-million Americans and 50-million brown-skinned brethren senselessly slaughtered (and every oilfield
alight with a radioactive glow)?

Subject: Obama

What tune are you going to sing if Hillary gives Obama the VP nod?

Excuse me?

You going to be a flip flopper, Bart?

Probably not - why would you ask that?

Or will he be all the sudden good enough to be defended?

When did I say something bad about Obama?

I hope he does not accept her offer if  it comes to that.
 Kemosabe

You've convinced yourself that I hate Obama.
You're certain of that which isn't true.

Instead of taking my words at face value, you have looked past my words
and assigned your own wild thoughts in their place which isn't a logical thing to do.

Bush Rule: Dissent not Allowed

 denverpost.com

 Excerpt:
A former White House official who ordered three activists expelled from a 2005 Denver public forum
with President Bush says it was White House policy to exclude potentially disruptive guests from Bush's
appearances nationwide. The former official, Steve Atkiss, revealed the policy Friday in an interview after
two volunteer bouncers identified him and a current White House staffer, Jamie O'Keefe, as the officials
who ordered the so-called Denver Three activists sent away from the event. The activists had done nothing
to disrupt the forum, and two of them sued over the incident.

Bush can't allow Free Speech because he's done such a bad job as president,
everyone has some complaints and they'd never end once they got started.

Subject: My Lunch With HER

Bart - I was the photographer for a fundraiser for a very warm and charming Senator Clinton last weekend.
There were a few war protesters outside, some with familiar signs.

I have had that same "Worst President Ever" photo in the back window of my car
for the last three years, and I've gotten nothing but 'thumbs up' from a lot of drivers.
I even caught one of the secret service guys chuckling at it.

Gop anger on display

 foxwhorenews.com

 Excerpt:
America's conservatives are mad and they're not going to take it anymore. That was the message the
movement's leaders delivered throughout the annual Nazi Pac Conference in Washington, D.C. last week.
One after another, conservatives told FOXWhoreNews.com that they are angry, irritated, frustrated and
in some cases depressed. And the target of their angst and ire is none other than the Republican Party,
which wants and needs their support to win the 2008 presidential election and avoid losing more seats
in the Senate and House next election.

Many of these conservatives, whose national stars began to rise with Reagan in 1980, described the
GOP's state of affairs in Washington with words like "failed," defeated" and "in the grave."
"We've got to stop being lackeys of the Republican Party. We've got to be a third force,"
said Bill Greene, who is running for Charlie Norwood's old seat from Georgia.

Third party!
Third party!

Show the GOP that you don't need them.
A second Republican in the race is a great idea!

Subject: Show 108 feedback

Hey Bart,

With no apologies to Mr. Coppola, allow me to paraphrase his screenplay for Patton:
Bartcop, you magnificent bastard, you nailed it!!!

Right on, right on, right on. Fox loves Obama?? It's only to hurt Hillary.
The only point you missed is the source of the confrontation -- it was MoDo! Maureen, still without a husband
(her lament in her book, not my commentary), was the facilitator, quoting Geffen in her column.

MoDo's involvement was mentioned on the page.

And here's something I heard on Olberman after you taped the show: The rumor in Hollywoodland
is that Geffen is hurt because Bill is hanging around more with another billionaire. The mogul is miffed
because Bill has a new friend!!! How freakin' sick?!?!

Keep swinging that hammer.

Clark ponders '08

 democracynow.org

 Excerpt:
About ten days after 9/11, I went through the Pentagon and I saw Rumsfeld and Wolfowitz.
I went downstairs just to say hello to some of the people on the Joint Staff who used to work for me,
and one of the generals called me in...He says, "We've made the decision we're going to war with Iraq."
This was on or about the 20th of September. I said, "We're going to war with Iraq? Why?" He said,
"I don't know." He said, "I guess they don't know what else to do."...

So I came back to see him a few weeks later, and by that time we were bombing in Afghanistan.
I said, "Are we still going to war with Iraq?" And he said, "Oh, it's worse than that. I just got this
from Rumsfeld's office. This is a memo that describes how we're going to take out seven countries
in five years, Iraq, and then Syria, Lebanon, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and, finishing off, Iran."

One problem - they can't get past Iraq.
They didn't count on losing a war to Arab teenagers.

McCain Camp in Turmoil
Some staffers bail after Letterman show

 Link

 Excerpt:
McCain's Obama-esque remarks about our "wasted" resources in Iraq weren't the only comments that
landed him in hot water after his Letterman appearance. Many of his staff were blindsided by his campaign
announcement. And several aides were so outraged that they've quit, say Republican insiders.

"They're imploding - he had a game plan that had him announcing much later in the year," one aide said,
adding that the campaign is "in serious trouble ... Romney and Rudy caused him to scrap his plans completely.
When you do that, and you're not prepared for it, the staff goes crazy. Some of his coordinators in different
states were pulling their hair out!"

I agree with Elizabeth M. about Michelle Malkin.

Chris Mathews was never better than when he kicked her ass on his show during the 2004 election.
She tried to get Mathews to agree with her that Kerry "shot himself" so he would be sent home from Viet Nam.

In American had anything resembling an honest media, Malkin would be laughed out of her job,
but the whore media we have rewards that kind of crap with a higher profile and a bigger paycheck.

I formerly believed that there was a conspiracy to kill Kennedy until I read Posner's Case Closed.
One thing it patently spells out is that Garrison was a nut.  He had a head full of conspiracy theories.

Garrison was booted out of the military for being too nutty.

I don't know enough about Garrison to have an opinion of him, but like with 9-11,

Impeach

Subject: you asked why they single her out...

Actually, Bart, many of us DID scream at the others you listed. And many of us are still screaming at them,
regardless of whether they are running for President. Trust me, more than one Senator is worthy of our rage.
So while LLCJ did single "her" out, it's mostly because YOU currently feel she is the PRIMARY candidate
to put your money on.

Actually, a majority of Democratics made her the favorite, not me.
And no way I made the crowd at Dailykos, Huffington, etc   hate her so much.

If you supported Biden or Edwards or any of the others who voted "yes", then THEY would get singled out.
Why write to Bartcop and complain about Zell Miller voting yes? He's not who YOU support, correct?

If Zell Miller was the front runner, I'd shoot myself.

Depending on your definition of "most", over 40% of the Dems said NO at the time.
So yeah, less than 60% said yes.  Dems split 29 for -- 21 against in the vote.

...but nobody screams at the other 28.
Are we punishing Hillary for being the favorite?

The Democrats screw their own - again?

And dammit, I still like Dennis Kucinich as a smart, decent candidate for President.
Of course he can't win with people always SAYING he can't win. Maybe if you put
as much of your energy into supporting him, maybe he wouldn't be such a long-shot.

I like Dennis, too, but there's nothing I can do to make him electable.

Oh no, wait .maybe you DO want Hillary to be our only viable option.
 Sarah aka duck,

You mean you want me to say it again?
For some reason, people look past what I say because they "know" what I'm thinking.

How do I fight that?

Is Tony Snow the Worst Ever?

 underbearsnews.net

 Excerpt:
White House reporters don't expect much from Snow, which goes part of the way toward explaining why
his claim about Greenpeace went largely unremarked. It's been less than a year since Snow started the job
amid a clamor of hype - including claims by Snow and others at the White House that he would be in the
room for the heavy policy stuff, with a voice and a role to play. The former Fox News personality quickly
established himself as a glib and energetic adversary for the press, sometimes short on information but strong
with a comeback. He learned everyone's name and all their peccadillos. These days, whatever honeymoon
goodwill he had has largely worn off - and if Snow sticks around, he still has two years to go.

Subject: Hillary haters

Hi Bart

Maybe Hillary haters have deep ambivalent feelings about women in politics.
Maybe they think women should be home baking cookies and cleaning toilets.

Hillary of course is the antithesis of all that. She's in politics...she understands politics.
She's tough...she fights back...she's smart and probably will be our next president.
Not being able to resolve this apparent contradiction...people resort to hating her.

No wonder they were so eager to start a war,

stealing  $220,000,000 every day.

It's the biggest theft in Earth's history.

Exxon made $10B profit in 90 days

while the Little Dictator plays with himself.

...and how much did BIG OIL make yesterday?
Exxon makes $108M - every day

(And that's just ONE oil company)

12 more soldiers dead,
but Exxon makes $75,000 profit per minute

Bush can live with that,
because Iraq's oil wells have no meters.

Ads yanked from Coulter's Web site

At least three major companies want their ads pulled from Ann Coulter's Web site,
following complaints about the bitch calling John Edwards as a "faggot."

Verizon, Sallie Mae and NetBank said they didn't know their ads were on AnnCoulter.com
until they received the complaints.

A diarist at the liberal blog DailyKos.com posted contact information for dozens of companies
with ads on Coulter's site after The Ugly Crack made her crude and vulgar remarks about Edwards.

"One of the best ways to communicate one's distaste for Coulter's repeated incidents of hate speech
is to let her advertisers know you are troubled by their support of bigotry," a blogger wrote on DailyKos.

Swear to Koresh, this is the actual seating chart they provide.

Granted, I'm old, but who the hell can read that?

Probe of Prosecutor Firings Intensifies

"I'll do anything to help this president."

 rawstory.com

 Excerpt:
The probe into Bush's firings of U.S. attorneys intensified Monday as lawmakers ordered two more
ousted officials to tell their stories and the Justice Department said Republican Sen. Pete Domenici
had complained repeatedly to the attorney general about one prosecutor.

A second lawmaker from New Mexico, GOP Rep. Heather Wilson, acknowledged that she, too,
had complained to the same prosecutor about the slow pace of an investigation. Like Domenici,
she lied about pressuring the U.S. attorney in her state.

The administration has said eight prosecutors were told to leave, all but one for performance-related reasons.
However, Democrats say politics was behind many of the dismissals, and the Domenici revelation fueled that idea.

Looks likle a clear cut case of obstructing justice to me.
Maybe we should have Fitz look into this,. too?
