False History & Logic

Excerpt:
On June 21, Levin spelled out his thinking in
a Washington Post op-ed entitled "Lincoln's Example for Iraq."
Levin asserted that he is modeling his Iraq War
position on Abraham Lincoln's stance on the Mexican War,
launched by President James Polk in 1846 after
a declaration of war by Congress.
"In his only term in Congress, Abraham Lincoln
was an ardent opponent of the Mexican War," including voting for
an amendment that called the conflict "unnecessary
and unconstitutionally begun by the President," Levin wrote.
Yet, Levin noted, "when the question of funding
for the troops fighting that war came, Lincoln voted their supplies
without hesitation." Levin likens Lincoln's anti-war
position to his own, since the Michigan senator opposed Bush's
war resolution in 2002 but has vowed to continue
voting money for the troops as long as they remain in the field.
But what Levin doesn't tell you is that the Lincoln
example is by no means an historical parallel to Levin's position
on the Iraq War. When Lincoln took his seat in
the House Dec. 6, 1847, the war with Mexico was already won.

I'm so sick of so-called liberals bashing Democrats
because they don't comport 100% on every issue
to their special interest agenda. Kos'
criticism of Hillary's war stance is nothing but counter-productive.
If there is anything to be learned from the disaster
that was the Reagan years, it is that you shouldn't tear apart
those in your own party. I'm sure if I
looked hard enough, I could find something Hillary stands for that I don't
agree with, but she would be a much better president
that ANY of the Republicans currently running.
And even most of the Repubs (save Huckabee, Tancredo
and Brownback) would be a huge improvement
over the idiot in chief we have now. I
think it is vital to get a Democrat into the White House in 2008,
so Kos's comments can only hurt our cause. If
he doesn't have anything nice to say about a Democrat,
he should shut the hell up.
I saw a poll that has all thre Democratic "front-runners"
beating each of the three Republican "front-runners"
in two-way general election trial heats.
I hope nobody is still saying any of the Democrats are "unelectable."

for others who might have some because it's hard to find.
If they get together and smoke one, these handjobs
want you to think they get violent - not true.
"If teens do become addicted to them or feel they
need [drugs], they run into situations where if
they do not have them, they're going to do what
they deem necessary to get them," lied Rita Pfaff
from the Coulee Council on Addictions.
"Whether it's steal from parents, steal from friends."
People steal because they're physically addicted
to drugs.
You can't get physically addicted to pot.

have your health you have everything, so she had to be stopped at all
costs.
The Democrats, being spineless, lily-livered, bed-wetting, bean-eating
nancyboys,
thought it would be easier to surrender than fight and they lost congress
as a result
.
They agreed with the right that the Clintons were insane and power-hungry
so the
voters went with their recommendation and hired Republicans to watch
them.
Perhaps the writer was unable to make her sound sufficiently bad by
sticking to
the facts, so he made up some shit that made it sound a lot worse than
it was.
If you'd written, "Hillary's health care plan
was rejected by both Democrats and
Republicans before anybody read it or understood
it," that would be criticism.
But ratchetting things up to a ""butchering" lays bare your bias against
her.
Bart doesn't hate Moore, not by any measure. But
he has taken issue on
Moore in the past, usually on trifling things.
The only riff I remember with Michael Moore was
in 2000 when he told people
not to vote for the Democrat - so I guess losing
the 2000 election is "trifling?"
Will Bart act like the rest of the whore media and denounce Moore without seeing the film?
Why would I do that?
Early reports say it's his best work ever - why
would I denounce it?
Because Hillary is a successful fundraiser? That

had been built in either Mexico or Canada from parts

My son-in-law still drives the '92 Camry I bought new.
It has over 250,000 miles on it. The 2002

The last GM product I owned spent nearly as much time with

Powell remains a beloved figure among Washington

Iraq War bandwagon in 2003.
But many rank-and-file Democrats view Powell as
less a hero than a rank opportunist, less the "good soldier"
of his press clippings than a dangerous phony
who has placed his career and reputation - time and again -
ahead of the lives of American troops and the
good of the country.

I went down this morning and bought a dozen "Temptation" (bi-colored) ears.
The price is up - way up- and that's OK with me.
A bushel was $10.95 2-3 years ago and it was $14.95
last year.
This year it's $17.95, but I don't mind.
