Libby pardon
fits W's world
chron.com
Excerpt:
You weren't surprised were you? You shouldn't
have been. Bush's decision to toss out Libby's sentence
was consistent with this administration's approach
to blowing Valerie Wilson's CIA cover in the rush to invade Iraq.
What a perfect way for a politician who will
never again face the voters to celebrate Independence Day.
Rule of law? Not this crowd. What's a little perjury
and obstruction of justice among neocon friends?
Giving Karl Rove the Medal of Freedom may be
just around the corner.
On Sept. 30, 2003, Bush said that if there was
a leaker in his administration, "I want to know who it is.
And if the person has violated the law, the
person will be taken care of."
It's one of the few times Bush has told the truth.
His best friend was the culprit, and he'll be taken care of.
Reminder: Fitzgerald and Libby's judge are both Bush appointees.
Who knows?
Maybe they're Skull & Bones Brothers, too.

Dominici
breaks from Bush
He's up for re-election in 2008
Link
Excerpt:
"I have carefully studied the Iraq situation,
(Liar)
and believe we cannot continue asking our troops
to sacrifice indefinitely while the Iraqi government
is not making measurable progress...
Translation: I'm up for re-election next year and I'll lose if
I stick with Der Monkey.
Which other
senators will break from Bush?
Saxby Chambliss, (R-Gay)
Norm Coleman (R-Already broke)
Lindsey Graham (R-Broke on Immigration)
Chuck Hagel (R-Already broke)
Mitch the Bitch (R-Broke on Immigration)
Immigration is what they call
a gay beard - like when Katie married Tom.
They know Iraq is killing them, but they love blood,
violence and death,
so they break with Bush on Immigration so they
can savor their Iraqi bloodlust.
What's sadder than a Republican addicted to more soldiers
in Arlington?
Jeff Sessions (R-Broke on Immigration)
John Warner (R-Half-breaking, other half in Sept)
John Sununu (R-Gay-New Hamster)
Ted Stevens (R-"No! Goddamn it!!!")
Because I'm old, I saw this coming years ago.
Just like with Vietnam, they fall away from the bloody quagmire one-by-one.
They delayed it as long as they could, because they're Republicans,
(Democrats eagerly volunteer to break from their president on the slightest
of whims).
But every day they wait to break, another 3 soldiers die.
If you're going to break anyway why not break f-ing NOW
and save those soldiers' lives?
If only the Democrats would taunt them that way.
"Every day they deny the inevitable, 3 soldiers
die."
Why not accept the facts NOW and save those 1,000 soldier
lives?

White House
criticizes Clintons on pardons
Link
Excerpt:
The Fascist White House on Thursday made fun
of Clinton and his wife for criticizing
Bush's decision to erase the prison sentence
of his co-conspirator "Scooter" Libby.
"I don't know what Arkansan is for chutzpah, but
this is a gigantic case of it," guffawed Tony Snow.
Snow said of Conyers. "Why doesn't he look at
January 20th, 2001?"
Hey, say all you want about the Clinton pardons,
but Clinton didn't pardon Mark Rich
because Rich was about to tell the truth about
Clinton's crimes that got 3600 soldiers killed.
The facts are the f-ing facts.
If the gelding Democrats would stand and speak the truth there'd
be no debate.
But, as always, they're under a table, wetting themselves in fear that
Mr. Rove might be angry.
Over the years, lots of people have written to say Karl
Rove is blackmailing the Democrats,
and they can't speak up because Karl Rove might expose them and their
terrible secrets.
Hey, guess what, Ol' Bart has lived a life of semi-crime but there's
not one goddamn thing
that little shit Karl Rove could ever hold over me because I never
did anything that f-ing stupid.
I never cheated on Mrs Bart and I never did a crime with a witness present.
Christ, am I the only Democrat who ever watched Law & Order?
It's so frustrating to be the uneducated IQ-of-64 Okie rube, knowing
I'm smarter than every
Democrat who's last name doesn't start with a "C." And
my party won't listen to my spot-on,
excellent advice because my name isn't Bob lost-every-election Shrum.
It's frustrating being the third smartest Democrat in America,

John Perkins:
Jerk, Con Man, Shill
by Greg Palast
Link
Excerpt:
I remember John Perkins. He was a real jerk.
A gold-plated, super-slick lying little butthole shill for
corporate gangsters; a snake-oil salesman with
a movie-star grin, shiny loafers, a crooked calculator
and a tooled leather briefcase full of high-blown
bullshit. This was two decades ago. The early 1980s.
I wore sandals, uncombed hair down to my cheap
collar and carried a busted ring-binder filled with
honest calculations and sincere analysis. It
was Economic Hit Man Perkins vs. Economic Long-Hair Palast.
I didn't stand a chance. The EHM was about to
put a political bullet hole through me wider than a silver dollar.

So, you took him to the Golden Driller.
Yawn.
The REAL tourist attraction was at Oral Roberts
U. -- the giant statue of GOD/JESUS!
(His hands? I just remember the praying
hands). Is that still there?
Liz
Did you hear about the ORU scandal?
It was a big story locally.
The hands were modeled after Oral himself - he
posed for the hand-casting, but it seems
that the hands were shoddily built and the hand
on the right started sagging. It got so bad,
it was almost touching the ground. They argued
with the contractors about the best way to fix it,
but then a teenager climbed the left hand and
put a $20 bill on top and the right hand snapped back
to attention, grabbing that bill before it blew
away.

It's not that we don't know enough to be enraged.
We know too much. About too many things. Our rage is
splintered, spread too thin to be effective.
For the past five years, people in this country and around the world
have protested against Bush and Cheney's genocidal
assault on two helpless nations. As they prepare openly
for yet another bloody attack on yet another
nation, we continue to sign petitions, hold meetings, march against
the corporate machine -- all to no avail. The
issues catapaulting citizens into the streets are outrageous -- each one
deserving of a "million man march" on its own
merits. However, because we are frustrated by a relentless media
blackout and by the deepening corruption, loss
of freedoms and the tightening noose of tyranny, our cries are
little more than a cacophony of discord -- an
impotent racket.

I'm sure on Monday when he returns from vacation,

If Rittenhouse Review's Jim Capozzola had remained

Most importantly, he would have had health insurance

And what did his talent and dedication get him

Some free books. A life that, as intellectually
stimulating as it was, reduced him to living on the charity of strangers.
I don't know what it is about liberal groups whose

Subject: Why I'm pretty sure
all US politicians will not stop the Iraq "war"
Bart, Mark C here on Negros Island.....
From my experience with working for the guberment,
8 years military, 15 years civilian....
What I think there is, somewhere secret, locked
up is a report stamped NatSec/Top Secret...
And in this report is a directive that a military
foothold is to be established in the oil rich ME,
and that the US shall take and maintain control
of that oil at all costs.
I think these things are called "National Security
Directives" or some such shit.
So maybe they'll be able to do something with
this Libby B.S.....But I really think the reason
that the Dems don't cut off the war is because
they've been informed of this NatSec Directive
and they've been told not to touch it with anything
with teeth.
Unfortunately, I had an experience with
something NatSec issue, and everything nice,
fair and moral goes right out the window with
this type garbage.
Its the beast dealing with its own survival, they
don't follow any f-king rules.
But if you ever feel like you've had enough of
it Bart, I've got a nice lot out back.
Its got a view of the ocean and Mount Talinis

We could be one Demo election away from not needing their precious oil.
Why invest heavily in oil when Honda's getting ready to sell hydrogen
cell cars?
Iraq wasn't a big concern until Bush set it on fire. The question is:
Can we afford to turn off our hoses and walk away and let it burn?

Giuliani
overplays 9/11 card
boston.com
Excerpt:
Giuliani was just six seconds into his speech
when he played his campaign trump card: the Sept. 11 attacks.
"I'll tell you the reason I wear this flag," he
told supporters at a recent rally here, pointing to his lapel.
"Before September 11, I only wore this flag rarely.
But I started wearing it right after September 11.
I wear it every day now. Each time I wear it,
it reminds me of September 11."
(How many times can a man say "9-11" in one
day?
Bush and Giuliani should have a contest.)
For Giuliani, 9-11 has become his strongest campaign
pitch, as he reminds voters again and again
of the role he played that day.
Reminder: He was walking the streets that
day because he didn't have an office to go to.
The idiot, against all advice, but the WTC terrorism
office in the WTC.
So when it was hit, all he could do was walk
the streets because he had no office.
Today, that office is underground in Queens, where
the experts told him to put it in the first place.

The Truth
about Kos
Is it the truth? Or a bunch of allegations?
truth-about-kos.blogspot.com
Excerpt:
Thanks to a diary by Stu Piddy, we know Markos
spent six months in the CIA.
"In the pre-Internet world, someone like me
could never have been successful. I don't have money.
I don't come from a famous or powerful family.
I was an immigrant to the United States."
In fact, it seems that none of that may be true.
Since Mr. Moulitsas was born in the United States,
he has always been a citizen and could only have
been metaphorically an immigrant. But, as a
matter of law, his claim to be an immigrant himself
is simply untrue.
In spite of having supported Reagan and
Bush 41 in the past, Moulitsas has packaged himself
as a "progressive" more recently by attacking
the DLC and Hillary Rodham Clinton.
Moulitsas also worked for Henry Hyde, who was
the US House's chief manager to impeach Clinton.
After supporting the Republicans during
the Clinton impeachment, it would certainly represent
a turn-about if Moulitsas supported a Clinton
in 2008.
Is any of this true?
It seems odd that two of the biggest lefty blogs,
Kos and Arianna, are run by
former Republicans who will say anything
to discredit our Democratic front-runner.

The night of the 4th and last night?
I played seven tournaments on ultimatebet.com.
I won four of them.
I only won about $3 because I can only afford 50 cents tourneys.
But trust me - at the $50 level, they play just as stupid.
They might play this stupid at the $500 level, but I wouldn't know.
People play drunk for serious money online.
If I had a backer, I could probably make a living gambling online.

No wait - you might find this interesting.
The World Poker Tour Wednesday night ran promos for the WPT Open,

which was in Los Angeles so any star who wanted to be seen can buy

They showed Paris playing, but I doubt we'll see her at the Final Table
:)
Remember, you can do everything wrong in poker every hand and still
win, just like you can
play like a genius and still get knocked out early, which has even
happened to me a few times.
But math and cunning are important poker tools and Paris may have left
her tool box at home.
However, it might surprise you to know which Hollywood celebrity
is a genius when it comes to playing Jeopardy...
That's right - Cheech Marin.

In Defense
of Paris Hilton

Excerpt:
To a large percentage of the population, it seems
that hating Paris Hilton
is a guilty pleasure bordering on a national
obsession.
Paris was at the MTV Movie Awards where Sarah
Silverman was hosting, and the crowd's response
to her was nothing short of bizarre. When Sarah
she mentioned that Paris was going to jail, a huge part
of the crowd started cheering. And kept cheering
while they saw her on the big screen cringing in the audience.
It was a mass, group hating.
Looks like I'm not the only one...
During that whole affair, one had to abandon the facts to have
a point to argue.
When 30-year-experienced LA lawyers said, "What
happened to Paris never happens,"
the wild-ass, Paris haters had nothing to reply with but, "Driving
drunk is a dangerous thing."
People couldn't argue the facts because the facts weren't on their side,
so they argued the emotion
and showed pictures of dead babies that died in car wrecks that had
nothing to do with Paris.

Perkel, who first put Bartcop on the Internet back in 1996 and
keeps Bartcop online today.
Marc hosts several
other political sites including American
Politics Journal, Political

Church
of Reality - a religion based on believing in everything that is
real.
Our motto for
this year is - "No Anti-Bush Site Left Behind".
So - if you have an anti-bush site and you are choking on hosting
fees or dealing with threats - let us know and we'll help keep you online.
