Rumsfeld's Mysterious Resignation
  by Robert Parry

 consortiumnews.com

 Excerpt:
The disclosure that Rumsfeld resigned on the day before the election, not the day after.
means that he was pushed out of his job the same day he suggested a de-escalation of the Iraq War.

When Rumsfeld's resignation was announced on Nov. 8, with both his resignation letter and his
de-escalation memo still secret, it was widely assumed that Bush was reacting to the stinging defeat
and was appointing Robert Gates as an olive branch to the Democrats.

The reality now appears to be almost the exact opposite. Bush was preparing for an Iraq War escalation
and was looking for a fresh face as Defense Secretary to buy him the necessary time to accomplish this
extraordinary political maneuver. Bush also may have recognized the damage that might have come if
Rumsfeld's war doubts became known.

How Bush drowned New Orleans
 by Greg Palast

 Link

 Excerpt:
"By midnight on Monday, the White House knew. Monday night I was at the state
Emergency Operations Center and nobody was aware that the levees had breeched. Nobody."
The charge is devastating: That, on August 29, 2005, the White House withheld from the state police the info
that New Orleans was about to flood.   The whistle-blower is Dr. Ivor van Heerden, deputy director of
the LSU Hurricane Center, the chief technician advising the state on saving lives during Katrina.

He charged that the White House, FEMA and the Army Corp hid, for critical hours, their discovery
that the levees surrounding New Orleans were cracking, about to burst and drown the city.
Dr. van Heerden  said, "Fifteen hundred people drowned. That's the bottom line."

They could have survived Hurricane Katrina. But they got no mercy from Hurricane George.

"The president's rug may still say "optimistic person comes to work," but he'll have to pardon
the rest of us if we don't share his sunny outlook. Fourteen American families will learn today

the Iraqi parliament remains on vacation."

That's what everyone needs to know and remember - mechanical problems.
The Stinger missles that Bush gave to the Saudis did not find their way into the hands

Subject: Why they hate Hillary

I'm catching a lot of crap from my "progressive" friends for supporting "Her".
It is a strange thing. There is no debate once her name comes up.
They all start frothing at the mouth. Why?

I am not sure but I can tell you that the frothing becomes foaming and scary.
I see my "friends" have gone away over this issue which is sad since most of them are WOMEN!
WTF?
~Marselle

If their hatred was based on something tangible, we could fight it.
If Hillary was simply not the choice of Democrats - fine, we'll get behind someone else.
But Democrats are pro-suicide at every opportunity.

If she loses fair and square I can live with that, too.
But they spread that "surge is working" horseshit and they know she never said it.
The Hillary haters are determined to destroy our best chance to win.

Arianna will take any opporunity to fabricate lies to stop her.
Why do Democrats want to lose so badly?

Arianna Democrats call it "Hillary's war?"
That's how much our side wants to lose.

Sen Warner: Bring 'em home

 Link

 Excerpt:
Sen. John Warner's call for troop withdrawals from Iraq is likely to ratchet up pressure
on Bush substantially and lend momentum to Democratic efforts to end U.S. combat.

Warner, R-Va., former chairman of the Armed Services Committee and Navy secretary
during the Vietnam War, said Bush should bring some troops home by Christmas. Doing so
would send a powerful message that the U.S. commitment in Iraq was not open-ended.

Warner says the president should get to decide when and how many troops should leave.
Bush opposes setting a date to pull out troops and blames generals under his command for the decision.

Subject: sacless democrats

Bart, remember when Frist threatened to invoke the nuclear option if the dems filibustered?

Yes, and if the gelding wimps knew how to play poker they would've said,
"You can jam that threat up your ass, Cat-Killer, because we don't care!
Fuck with us and we'll make you eat it, so go ahead - take your best shot."

Instead, they crawled under a table and wet their pants in fear.
How did I get in a party of sacless wimps?

I don't know what the ramifications of eliminating the filibuster would ultimately be
but I think the dems were concerned that it would prove disastrous to the Senate.

Well sure, there are dozens of reasons to surrender without a fight, but a thug president
committing crimes, ripping up the Constitution and lying us into wars can also prove disastrous.
Why are Democrats so f-ing stupid?

The GOP doesn't care about the USA or our institutions but I think there is a shred of
real patriotism in the dems.  I hope some of our elected ones have a little integrity.
Or am I just being a fool?
 John

The idiot Democrats can't figure out that there's a difference between winning and losing.
I'm real tired of "losing with honor."

GOP Lobbyists Back Allawi

 tpmmuckraker.com

 Excerpt:
Barbour Griffith & Rogers has long been a powerhouse GOP lobbying firm.
Now, apparently, American politics are just too small-time.
BGR is reportedly trying to influence Iraqi politics as well.

BGR, the firm started by Haley Barbour, has been promoting Ayad Allawi, the one-time
Iraqi interim prime minister who over the weekend published an op-ed in the WaHoPo
calling for the parliamentary overthrow of current PM Nouri al-Maliki.

This is just another delay tactic from the criminal White House.
When Patreaus says, "We're slowly making some progress" next month,
Bush and his obedient American whore media will blame Maliki for everything.

"Oh, if we could just get Allawi in there, we'd see a big difference,"
and Bush will ask for 6 more months which will kill 600 more soldiers.

Bush likes to say he doesn't worry about what history will say about him,
but he'll kill another 1,000 men so his whore press can blame Clinton 44 for Iraq.

"The Presidential Advance manual offers advance staffers and volunteers who help set up
presidential events guidelines for assembling crowds. Those invited into a VIP section near
the stage, for instance, must be 'extremely' supportive of the Administration. To counter any
demonstrators who do get in, advance teams are told to create 'rally squads' of volunteers
with large hand-held signs, placards or banners with 'favorable messages.' Squads should be
placed in strategic locations and 'at least one squad should be 'roaming' throughout the perimeter

and lead supportive chants to drown out the protestors (USA!,USA!,USA!)."

Subject: McDonald's coffee

Bart, I remember how hot McDonald's coffee was when I was growing up.
It was common knowledge that the stuff was lava.  They had multiple cases
of burns due to the coffee that they ignored.  They decided that it kept better
at that temperature and they had no reason to change.

The only thing that will make these corporations change is multimillion dollar law suits.
When you hear the Republicans talk about capping the amount for damages
they're just helping make these huge corporations unaccountable.

Sometimes things do go a little overboard but it's our only protection.

But I thought that jury was in...

 Link

 Excerpt:
Intentionally or not, a new assessment of Iraq's political and military prospects landed just in time
to bolster Bush's case that more soldiers should die for a loost cause.

The consensus report by U.S. spy agencies who earn their paychecks at the pleasure of Der Monkey
contained a veiled warning: Any move to shift U.S. troops out of their role directly combating insurgents
could squander the modest security gains secured by the troop surge.

"A change of mission ... would place security improvements at risk," the report alleged.

That conclusion, coming unanimously from the nation's 16 intelligence agencies who earn their paychecks
at the pleasure of Der Monkey, will likely help the Neocons and their boy David Petraeus, argue for patience
from a skeptical Congress and public who are tired of 54 months of bloodshed and death. Petraeus oversees
the U.S. troop buildup and a more aggressive counterinsurgency effort that Bush announced in January.

Smashing Capitalism

 Link

 Excerpt:
We may be witnessing the first time in history that the downtrodden manage to bring down
an unfair economic system without going to the trouble of a revolution.

First they stopped paying their mortgages, a move in which they were joined by many
financially stretched middle class folks, though the poor definitely led the way.

Then, the poor stopped shopping. Both Wal-Mart and Home Depot announced disappointing second
quarter performances, plunging the market into another Arctic-style meltdown. When, Wal-Mart, the
largest private employer in America, starts experiencing a shortage of customers, it needs to take a long,
hard look in the mirror. About a century ago, Henry Ford realized that his company would only prosper
if his own workers earned enough to buy Fords. Wal-Mart, on the other hand, never seemed to figure out
that its low wages would eventually curtail its growth, even at the company's famously discounted prices.

Subject: Hillary and Barack

Hillary did NOT say "the surge is working."  Drudge made that up; and all these Hillary Haters
took it, started posting it on every website they could find, and the sheeple followed suit;

I'm in Kansas City; saw excerpts of her speech (along with 2 standing ovations, and at no time
did she say the words: "The surge is working." That's a bareface lie.

Anyone who would believe Drudge is looking for negatives about Hillary, because they know that
Drudge has always despised the Clintons. I'll never forget his obsession with Bill Clinton during Monica.

After seeing Obama on Jon Stewart, if I hear anything bad about that charasmatic gentleman,
I'll know they're a pack of lies.   Barrack (you rock) as the supporters shouted;  debunked the
non-truths Drudge wrote about him, smiling all the while. It won't be a problem for me at all,
to support Obama if Hillary doesn't get the nomination.
 Marian in Missouri

Drudge lied about it.  The NY Post
The Whore AP lied about it.  Arianna lied about it, so I guess I can't be too tough
on those who asked, "Why did Hillary say Bush's surge is working?"

When I heard that nutty-ass lie, my bullshit meter
started barking like a chihuahua drunk on Jose Cuervo.

Cheney is that bad
 by Scott Ritter

 truthdig

 Excerpt:
Cheny is the single greatest threat to American and international security in the world today.
Not Osama Bin Laden.  Not the ghost of Saddam Hussein.  Not Ahmadinejad or Kim Jung Il.
Not al-Qaida, the Taliban, or Jose Padilla himself.  Not even Bush can lay claim to this title.
It is Dick Cheney's alone.  Operating in a never-never land of constitutional ambiguity which exists
between the office of the president and the Congress of the United States, Cheney's office has made
its impact felt on American policies as had no vice president's office before him.  Granted unprecedented
oversight over national security and foreign policy by executive order in early 2001, many months prior to
the terror attacks of 9/11, Cheney has single-handedly steered America away from being a nation among
nations (albeit superior), operating (roughly) in accordance with the rule of law, and toward its present
manifestation as the new Rome, a decadent imperial power bent on global domination whatever the cost.

Subject: why Dems are sacless?

Randi Rhodes is claiming that the repugs MUST have some serious inside dirt on the Dems due to
some warrantless wiretapping (very much in the same vein as ol' Tricky Dick and his enemies list)

Why else would the opposition consistently fold unless their personal lives were not in danger of being exposed?
 JJ

I have an antidote for that.
As long as it's not horrifying, (Michael Vick-type stuff) all the Democrat has to do is say,
"The only way they could've found that out was by illegally listening in on my phone calls
and reading my mail and these crooked Republican bastards should have to pay a price for that."

Make that the issue, turn the conversation into a "Peeping Tom" issue and make them suck on it.

Of course, for our Democrats,  total surrender is always an option.

Iraq pumped 3.5M barrels daily before Bush invaded
and then they got their 2003 Halliburton upgrade

Bush is stealing $220,000,000 every day.

No wonder they were so eager to start a war,

It's the biggest theft in Earth's history.

Exxon made $10B profit in 90 days
$100M a day - all profit - because Bush started a fake war

Some people celebrate Bush's bloody oil war...

Some don't.

We lost  3 more since last issue.

Who thinks getting 3,725 soldiers killed is OK?

by Wizard of Whimsy

Look at a calendar - any calendar.
Now, the next time you look at a calendar,
we'll have 4,000 dead soldiers so Bush can steal Iraq's oil.

How much did BIG OIL make yesterday?
Exxon makes $108M - every day

Bush can live with that,
because Iraq's oil wells have no meters
and his front company is moving to Dubai.

 $100M a day,
$200M a day,
$300M a day - where's that money going?

Bush has killed more Americans than Osama.

My Fellow Texan
 by Bill Moyers

 consortiumnews.com

 Excerpt:
Karl Rove figured out that the way to take an intellectually incurious, draft-averse, naughty playboy in a
flight jacket with chewing tobacco in his back pocket and make him governor of Texas, was to sell him as
God's anointed in a state where preachers and televangelists outnumber even oil derricks and jack rabbits.

Rove turned religion into a weapon of political combat -- a battering ram, aimed at the devil's minions.
Especially at gay people.

It's easy to scapegoat people you outnumber. Rove knew in politics to bet on fear and loathing.
Never mind that in stroking the basest bigotry of true believers you coarsen both politics and religion.

At the same time he was recruiting an army of the Lord for the born-again Bush, Rove was also
shaking down corporations for campaign cash. Crony capitalism became a biblical injunction.

Computer Tyme Hosting is owned by Marc Perkel, who first put Bartcop on the Internet back in 1996 and keeps  Bartcop online today.

Marc hosts several other political sites including American Politics Journal, Political StrikesFaux News Channel, Seeds of Doubt and interesting sites like the
Church of Reality - a religion based on believing in everything that is real.

Our motto for this year is - "No Anti-Bush Site Left Behind". So - if you have an anti-bush site and you are  choking on hosting fees or dealing with threats - let us know and we'll help keep you online.

We also have that strongest server side spam filtering on the planet.
Check out Marx Mail for info on how you can have a Spam Free Email Account.
