"Giving Oprah the week off was a big mistake, it turns out. Bill Clinton was blasting
Obama with the memorable "fairy tale" line. Meanwhile, Obama's nuclear weapon,
Oprah, was probably thinking about what she would say at the inauguration ball." -- Van Jones,wehateclintons.com
Excerpt:
Hillary Clinton played the "gender card" in her comeback victory in New Hampshire,
craftily portraying herself as the victim of sexism. But Clinton's strategy -- especially as
the campaign turns into a two-person race with Barack Obama -- runs the risk of setting up
a competition over who's been treated worse, blacks or women.
Do you think Bob Parry will come to his senses after Feb 5th?
Or will he dedicate consortiumnews.com to Hillary's destruction?
General Truce Offer Let's fight like cats & dogs - until February 5th.
Let's keep it fair, no knives, no personal attacks, and with a smile on our faces.
Then on February 6th, let's agree to work together and support the Democrat.
Our only alternative is to destroy each other and help the Fascist bastards win.
Surely, your hatred of the BFEE trumps your feelings for Hillary, right?
"The media horseshit produced in New Hampshire was worse than useless;
not only arrogant, mindless and sheeplike, per usual, but also wrong on the
very horse-race measurements upon which these faux smarties pride themselves.
How can an entire industry continue to exist when the product it provides is
both unwanted and defective, and proven repeatedly to be so?"
-- Eric Alterman, Link
I have a theory: The whore media is trained to sell you what they think you want to buy.
Facts and reality don't matter, (after all, Bush is president) so it's all a game of perception,
and the whore media was sure "everyone" wanted Obama, so that's what they sold us.
Turns out "everyone" wanted President Obama but the voters.
Remember: It's the press's job to protect and defend Emporer Bush while
crucifying
whoever has the best chance of ending Bush's Neocon fascism.
Excerpt:
Just two days after the U.S. Navy released the eerie video of Iranian speedboats
swarming
around American warships, which featured a chilling threat in English,
the Navy is now
saying
that the voice on the tape could have come from the shore or
from another ship.
Or it could've come from the US Navy, trying to provoke an attack.
The near-clash occurred over the weekend in the Strait of Hormuz. On the U.S. recording,
a voice can be heard saying to the Americans, "I am coming to you. You will explode
after a few minutes."
The Navy never said where the voices came from, but many were left with
the impression
they had come from the speedboats because of the way the Navy footage was edited.
So - they got caught lying.
I'm shocked that Republicans would lie to start a war - aren't you?
Today, the spokesperson for the U.S. admiral in charge of the Fifth Fleet clarified that
the threat may have come from the Iranian boats, or it may have come from somewhere else.
So why didn't you tell the truth in the first place?
Why did you wait until after you were caught to give us the real facts?
There's a section on this 'Iranian boats swarming' subject inBCR 132.
Excerpt:
Senator Clinton didn't win New Hampshire because she cried. Yet here's how the very
serious cable news logic sussed out Tuesday night: Senator Clinton went all soft-serve
on television; women turned out and voted for Senator Clinton; therefore all of the weak,
hormonorific dames, who are suckers for a tear-jerker, won the day for the senator.
Even if the crying wasn't a calculated news cycle grabber, narrating the entire victory
as some kind of romantic chick-flick represents a misogynistic low point in non-FOX
cable news punditry (FOX News punditry is quarantined within its own private
phantom zone of hellish awfulness).
But even if that was true - (it;s not) - how is that "fearmongering?"
Did you tell Obama's young, idealistic students that showing emotion is "fearmongering?"
Did they believe you?
BTW, I'm glad YOU said women are "weak" and "hormonorific."
I hope I never take an unwarranted swipe at women like that.
Bart... I still have yet to see any media outlet use anything but excuses
to explain her win. (crying, independents went to McCain instead of Obama, etc)
NO ONE wanted to even theorize that maybe - just maybe - voters
in New Hampshire just plain liked Hillary the best.
Scott in PA
You'd never see that story in the GOP-controlled media.
Their job is to discredit Hillary while gushing praise over Obama.
(Remember, we're all pals come Feb 6th, so it you have something you want
to get off your chest about Hillary before the big February "Kumbaya" party, send it in now so we can be all peaches and cream for the BIG fight.)
After Feb 5th, we won't tolerate attacks on our own - deal?
"Are you looking for way to prevent your home from being forclosed on?
Experts say the best thing you can do is to make your payments on time."
-- some slut just now on CNN, swear to Koresh
I'm not sure the Kerry endorsement helps Obama as much as it reminds us
that
when Democrats make a bad choice in selecting a candidate that we
can lose the race.
Do we stick with the proven success of the Clintons
or do we take a chance on the new guy?
What's the point of selecting a
risky candidate if it ends up getting a Republican elected again?
Marc Perkel
San Bruno, CA
Poor Obama, I feel sorry for him.
If I was running Her campaign, and Kerry offered his endorsement,
I'd give him a million dollars to endorse my opponent, instead and then
i'd write that million off as the most useful advertising expense ever!
John Kerry, arguably our least-liked Democrat (Kissyface went Dark Side)
picked
John Edwards for VP in 2004 (after McCain turned him down, they say)
and now, three
years later, Edwards isn't deserving of Kerry's vote?
Edwards is either steaming or happy as hell, anybody know which?
Whoever wins the big prize on Feb 5th should give John and his wife a
cruise around the world that will return to America the day after the election
because if he's here, he may open his mouth and blow everything for us.
Sidebar: WTF?
I went to barackobama.com to see if they had a copy of his New Hampster speech
but something is very wrong about that website.
First, you can't do ANYTHING until after you sign up. That's a BIG mistake, Barack.
If I'm thinking about giving you my vote, I don't want to have to give your spammers
my info so you can tsunami me with nonsense I don't want to see.
But this is my job, so I sighed up - and what happened?
I get to a SECOND page with NOTHING but "Give me Money."
I expected some info on the splash page, but when I didn't get it, I agreed to jump
thru
some Obama hoops, hoping there's be some info on the second page, but nooooooooo.
So far, Barack's web page is 0-for-2.
Then I went to Her page and I was flooded with useful info - without hoops.
On just the first page, there are NINE button's with dropdown menues,
one of which
offered me an opportunity to contribute. I thought it was well-done and classy.
Then I saw videos and blog entries and testimonials - they have Hillary caps for sale
and bumper stickers and you can sign up for text updates -
all the things Obama should
have on his site, but apparently they are very stingy with info and they want my money.
They won't even let you in to read until you surrender your privacy.
That is, trust me, a hueueueueueueuege mistake.
Looking back, Obama's site is so lame, I wonder if I have the wrong address.
Is his official site http://barackobama/com?
If it is, he needs to replace his webmaster - pronto!
Excerpt:
What seems just as plausible as any other explanation is also the most ironic:
that (voters)
were sick of the corrosive hostility and naked slant of the
mainstream media against her.
The polls correctly measured Obama's share of the vote. What happened during the contest's
last few days was that the undecided broke for Clinton, and the question is why. It's possible that
all the cheap shots and hate bombs finally backfired on Clinton's aggressive adversaries in the media.
Does anyone still doubt that many of the most influential members of the national press corps
dislike Hillary Clinton and treat her accordingly? Bias is far too mild a term to describe the bullying
she has endured on cable television as well as in print.
TIME's Mark Halperin told Howard Kurtz that "the press's flaws -- wild swings,
accentuating
the negative -- are magnified 50 times when it comes to her. It's not a level playing field."
Will Bush's whore media "hate" Hillary right into the White House?
After eight years of licking Bush's butt, they have decided to crucify Hillary.
Why can't the press just tell the truth?
Why do they have to distort everything?
Excerpt:
This rarest of all artifacts, an actual tear from Madam Hillary Clinton's private,
limited collection in an amber dram, is coveted by politicians and pundits alike
for its potent campaign-reviving powers.
With the exception of Bill Richardson, who just
dropped out,
I believe all of Hillary's
opponents only have experience in the Senate.
Hillary has seen the government from the Governor's
Mansion point of view,
the Senate's point of view, and
the White House's point of view, and I'm pretty sure
that when she was First Lady she was a bit more
involved in what was going on than,
say, Nancy Reagan.
Experience like that - not to mention her husband -
gives her a ready insight into
how government works
across the board that will require Obama and Edwards
quite a few missteps to learn the hard way.
I agree - we can play with other candidates later on,
but right now
the stakes are too high to take a chance
on someone who is untested.
- Tab
Tab, you need to watch out - people don't like it when you say
something
about the Clintons that doesn't include a personal slur.
"Clinton is coopting Obama's message. She didn't find her own voice;
she took Obama's.
She is the Bush of the Democrats. Which is why Obama must defeat her." -- Andrew Sully-van, who's going to have a really bad 2008,ihatehermore.com
Bart, John Kerry just put the kiss of death on Obama's presidential hopes by endorsing him.
If Obama is to have any hope he needs to deny he ever heard of Kerry ASAP.
I think the only thing worse would be a Lieberman endorsement.
ha ha
I agree.
I'm for Edwards myself, so this is good for my personal agenda.
However I'll vote for the Democratic nominee come November.
And, to my mind, you are very consistent in your views.
Keep consistently swinging the hammer!
Steve in Seattle
Edwards is my #2 choice, and you're right about that Kiss of Death.
Seems like every decision Kerry makes is worse than the last.
John, have you ever been to Tahiti?
I've heard it's the greatest place in the world from, say, March-December.
Excerpt:
It should be obvious that taking hugely lucrative no-bid contracts from the agency
you used to head is not the best way to comport yourself after a career in public service.
John Ashcroft (R-Fascist) should know better, though he apparently doesn't.
Riches are raining down on his consulting firm, the Ashcroft Group, thanks to a former
Justice Department associate. The group has been handed a contract worth
between
$28-million and $52-million by Christopher Christie, the top federal prosecutor in
New Jersey - a man who used to work for Ashcroft. There was no competitive bidding
for this well-compensated work and, according to the New York Whore Times, Christie
has been using his position to direct similar arrangements to other connected Fascists.
Ashcroft's contract has eye-popping numbers. For the sum of $750,000 per month plus
between $150,000 and $250,000 per month in expenses, his consulting group will monitor
an out-of-court settlement the Justice Department reached with Zimmer Holdings, a medical
supply company in Indiana. That company was accused of paying kickbacks to doctors
who used their knee and hip implants.
What's worse than a no-bid contract to a close friend? They write a "no performance" clause into the contract.
Imagine that - they sign a $50M contract for Ashcroft to "monitor" government payouts,
but Ashcroft gets paid even if Ashcroft sits home and plays with himself the whole time.
This is why rich Republicans get into politics - to rape the Treasury and play with themselves.
"There was a whiff of Nixonian self-pity about Hillary choking up.
What was moving her so deeply was her recognition that the country
was failing to grasp how much it needs her."
-- Maureen Dowd, pushing Hillary into the White House with both hands, Link
Hi Bart
As a woman who watched the "Break Down" on the news, here's what I saw:
I saw an exhausted woman who was just tired of trying to make her point for the
millionth time. It was nothing more than pure exhaustion. Right now, the Repubs
and the Dems are all sounding a lot alike using the "change" meme, and because
our election seasion is just too damn long we're not really hearing anything new.
How many times can any candidate state their position -- until we start thinking that
we need to hear something new. Now, candidates are stuck reacting to current events
such as the death of Bhutto, (or not, as in Huckabee's ball-drop on the NIE report).
However, in the very end, since we're been hearing the candidates say the same things
over and over and over again for a year, it will be easier to remember which ones had
the beef, and which ones were talking a lot.
I'm not a Hillary fan but I'll take your truce offer. I know she'll knife-fight to win.
It's too bad for me, because when she opens her mouth, I can't hear anything.
I don't feel an ounce of hope that she'll help the poor or even the middle class.
Yes, I want a pony, but as always, I'll deal with whichever ass wins.
Lucy
Lucy, apparently you're saying she's nothing like her husband because
he did a whole lot of good for the non-rich and the middle class.
I think she made deals to get enough power to take the reigns. If she had played
things any different, she'd be where every other woman
in the world is - without power.
If she can get past her own party - prepare to be impressed.
Excerpt: In his beautiful, soaring concession speech, (I have tears in my eyes already!) Obama
mentioned
the town of Lebanon for a reason, and listening to him, I knew why. I was
with him in Lebanon
the day before -- and what we saw there was something of a
defining moment in the campaign
- it surprised him, his staff members, the Secret Service
on board the campaign bus...even the
bus driver. We turned the corner toward the event
and saw hundreds of people lined up through
the streets of the town just to see him, to
feel his aura and to later say that they'd done it — they'd
been there. Any journalist covering any candidate that day, in that town, would have come away
as I did after
seeing those people, saying something akin to the old song lyric, "something's
happening here." A colleague of mine contends Obama got caught up in the history he was making.
I don't think that's quite fair. The candidate didn't change his message as much as Iowa changed
the way we heard it. (Oh, gag me!)
Brian Williams - you're about as objective as Rush Limbaugh.
Were you assigned to cover Obama or get him elected?
Let me ask:
When you take away "the beautiful, soaring rhetoric," what's left?
After you've felt the heavenly embrace of Obama's "aura," what's left?
When Obama talks about "change" does he ever say what we'd change to?
Is there any substance to this guy at all?
Sure, you can write and say, "I hate you, Bart," but that doesn't asnswer my question.
I might also ask if your strong desire to have a Clinton back in
the White House
trumps your critical thinking?
Not a chance.
There are genuine concerns about Hillary that people have expressed,
and which
you have dismissed as "hatred" and "anger", all because you
blindly follow the Clintons.
When you do this, you sound just like the Bush disciples.
Horse hockey!
When people tell me what the Clintons are thinking, I call that horseshit and you should, too.
If someone says, "I didn't like her war vote,"
I don't call them haters.
I thought about - and dismissed doing this experiment.
For one issue, if I assumed
the identity of a "Obama hater," you would quickly see
the difference between that and my stated complaints about him.
I've asked a few times, "What's the worst thing I've ever said about Obama?"
Nobody can come up with anything besides, "He's a newbie."
On the other hand, there are hundreds of personal slurs said and written
about the Clintons every day. THOSE writers are the ones I call the haters.
I will happily support ANY Democrat against ANY Republican in this race.
But, there are concerns about every candidate that we need to consider.
If you close your eyes to that in your desperation to get YOUR candidate
into the White House, then you do a disservice to ALL your readers.
So-what do you say?
Keith in LaPlace, LA
Just because we see things differently doesn't mean my eyes are closed.
If someone has ration reasons to vote against Hillary, let's talk.
But this mind-reading bullshit has to stop.
I'm just finishing up law school out here in Arizona and couldn't not take the plunge
& listen to some BCR after watching the media bow down to Obama and shit all over the only non-criminal presidency I've had in my lifetime last weekend.
(Obama's a good guy - I voted for him for Senate, but I think he needs to wait until
after Hillary's second term before he's ready to be president, haha.)
Anyway, I just wanted to tell you that your student discount is much appreciated.
I've been reading since I was in high school, and I hope to donate more once I'm
out
of school and actually making some money (*fingers crossed*). Your site has
helped
me keep my sanity through many maddening events over the years. Keep hammerin'.

A judge decided Thursday that Debra Lafave, the super-hot school teacher and sex offender,
violated her probation by having contact with an underage female co-worker at a restaurant

The hot teacher
will
continue on her stringent probation program or community control, the judge ruled.
The judge wore a brand new robe and his best cologne for this defendant.
"The court finds that you are totally hot, but in violation of your community control," Judge
Padgett said. "The court finds that the violation is neither willful nor substantial, and the court
wonders why the cops continue to harrass
your fine, fine self. I therefore rule that we will not
revoke your community control but will continue you on the same. Please don't come back, OK?"
Bart, you're under the strange delusion that Hillary is on "our side",
and will exact revenge for the wrongs done to her husband.
I think you can count on some revenge if she wins.
Bill didn't traipse around the country with Papa Bush because of
charitable concerns.
He was trying to secure Pappy's assurance that
