"Obama and his surrogates need to stop going
on TV and whining about how the Clinton's are a bunch of meanies! It makes
Obama look weak and unprepared for the office he seeks. What did he think
he was getting into, a quilting bee? No doubt, the Clinton's have the best punch
and counter-punch in contemporary politics. And while there may be some "Democratic
Party Leaders" who are reaching for the smelling salts, it's only
because they haven't seen a successful Democratic Presidential campaign since 1996,
and forgot what one looks like. Democrats take note: this is how Presidential
campaigns are won!" -- JoeCHI, Link
It's too bad our goal isn't winning the White House.
Excerpt: Some Democrats who send us e-mails view the Clinton's
political chutzpah as a good thing,
that they're showing they've learned from the
Republican scorched-earth tactics and thus
are best qualified to wrest control of the White
House from the GOP.
These Democrats ridicule what they call Obama's
"kumbayah" strategy of trying to
achieve some form of unity among America's
bitterly divided political factions. Obama's "kumbayah" is dismissed as either hopelessly
naïve or disingenuous.
But when Bill Clinton tried to
achieve some form of unity among America's
bitterly divided political factions,
Bob Parry took is as a personal betrayal.
Parry hates Clinton for reaching out, but
loves Obama for reaching out.
Funny how prejudice can cloud an otherwise sharp
mind.
If I were in Congress I would do something very
different to stimulate the economy.
The first thing I'd do it end the war in Iraq.
Then I'd change the law that prohibits the government
from shopping around
to get the best prices from the drug companies.
Next I'd implement universal health care so insurance
doesn't go up every year.
Then we need to get off of oil even if we have
to convert to diesel from coal
until we can develop electric car technology.
We can take away corporate subsidies for oil companies
using the money to develop green technologies.
Eliminate tax breaks for the rich so that they
have to pay middle class tax rates.
If we do all that then we will go back to surplus
"problems"
rather than what we are going to do about the
deficit.
Marc Perkel
San Bruno, CA.
I would like to disagree slightly with Marc.
We already have electric car technology - ever been to a golf course?
Golf carts run on electricity, they just can't get you very far.
In the space of 2-3 years, we could replace every gas station with
a battery exchage station and boom - we've solved the problem.
The only reason we haven't done this is because our oil-based
president wants to hold onto his gouge monopoly as long as he can.
Just think - if Bush and his friends rented out horses why would
they allow Henry Ford to mass produce machines that would
render the horse renting business obsolete?
Of course not. He'd have his lofal press puppies tell us that switching
from horses to cars was "certain suicide" and they'd do that for him.
When they built the first over-the Mississppi River bridge in St Louis,
the ferry owners lobbied against the new "dangerous" bridge - because
they knew
it would put them out of business, but they failed and the bridge was
built.
What have we learned? When your friends are making $108
million PER DAY,
why would you want to change the status quo?
This is why stealing the 2000 election had to happen,
because Al Gore
would've weened America off of Saudi oil by now and the greedy oil
bastards
would be out the trillions of dollars they've gouged from us since
2000.
Of course, there are great costs to Bush's deny-the-future foot-dragging,
...
but the military familes are still willing to sign up, so the scam continues.
"Is Hillary down in South Carolina because she's down on America?"
Who asked that question? Was it Dick Harpootlian?
Was it Neil Cavuto?
Was it Ted Kennedy?
Was it David Plouffe, Obama's manager?
Was it Bush's rubber stamp?
Excerpt: As the stock market gyrated wildly this week,
given the precarious state of our economy,
the New York Times published a table relating
to anti-recession efforts in times past.
In scanning it, I could not help but notice that
among the last eight recessions, all but the first,
in 1948, occurred during Republican presidencies.
(The first when the GOP ontrolled Congress.)
Here are the recessions and their Republican
presidents: August 1957 to April 1958 (Eisenhower),
April 1960 to February 1961 (Eisenhower),
December 1969 to November 1970 (Nixon),
November 1973 to March 1975 (Nixon and Ford),
July 1981 to November 1982 (Reagan),
July 1990 to March 1991 (Reagan), and M
arch 2001 to November 2001 (Bush II).
It's not an accident! Cutting taxes for the super-rich kills the economy - every time.
Then the super-rich can take their giant windfall and buy bankrupt
companies.
"The evidence-free bias against the Clintons
in the media borders on mental illness. If you try to be fair to the Clintons, if
you try to be objective, if you try to ask, 'Where's
the evidence of racism in the Clinton campaign?' you're accused of being a naïve shill
for the Clintons... I really think it's a problem." -- Craig Crawford,

There is no evidence that the Clintons are racists,
but the whore media says there is - and some Democrats believe
them.

ha ha Good line.
The Clintons appear to believe that they can use
character assassination, distortions, and
outright lies to eviscerate a Black man of great
dignity and integrity and that if they win,
African American voters will forgive them and

I disagree, but that's good writing.

Excerpt: For nearly two decades, Yvette Wider, an African
American, adored Bill Clinton.
But now, after Clinton's "fairy tale" remark about
Obama in New Hampshire and a
statement in South Carolina that Obama had put
a political "hit job" on him, Wider said
she feels she hardly knows the former president.
"I was surprised to hear him make a
comment like that, because I thought he understood
our people better," said Wider,
who voted for Obama Saturday. "It made me think
he's been playing us all this time."
Wider's sentiments are echoing across black America
-- on blogs, Web chats and
talk radio, where Clinton is being attacked
as never before.
That part in bold is certainly true.
It is a significant turnabout for Clinton, who
throughout most of his presidency counted
black people as his staunchest supporters. Less
than eight years ago, African Americans
gave the former president a stratospherically
favorable rating -- but that's all gone now.
This reminds me of Rosie O'Donnell turning her
back on Clinton.
Clinton's presidency might've been a smooth ride
if he hadn't fought for Blacks and gays,
but the second an issue pops up, that "loyalty"
goes right down the drain.
Obama's anti-war stance IS and WAS a fairy tale,
but according to the WaHoPo,
black people can never forgive him for
speaking that truth. According to the WaHoPo,
black also can never forgive Hillary for stating
the fact that civil rights legislation would
never have happened if LBJ hadn't twisted some
Demo arms in the mid sixties.
It reminds me of the Superman comics I read as a kid. Something would
happen,
something little, and all of the people of Metropolis and America and
the world would
suddenly hate Superman, even tho he'd saved the planet a dozen times
over.
But who is surprised?
How many years have we been running this?
"I think Heath Ledger watched the Clinton-Obama
debate last night. I think he was an Edwards guy, cause he saw his
Edwards guy was just completely irrelevant." -- that bastard John
Gibson, again, proving he's the scum of the Earth, Link
Recently I e-mailed a senior bartcop.com pillar who
is a committed lefty.
I assumed he was an Edwards fan, wrongly, it seems.
Subject: the '08 race
Edwards wasn't much of a fighter when he meekly
let bonesman John Kerry take a dive.
When Kerry wanted to concede immediately, instead
of waiting until all the votes had been counted,
Edwards supposedly strenuously objected in private.
But did he say 'hell no' in public?
If he wouldn't fight for us then, he won't fight
for us as President either.
Obama accepted Kerry's endorsement, which should
tell us something about Obama.
I don't get the attraction of Obama, who seems
to never offer any particulars, just a lot of blah-blah.
But it's irrelevant, because only a liberal weenie
would think that a black man, even one
with a white mom, could get elected President
in 2008. Most white Americans have learned
to talk the talk about race, and most probably
even truly want to think of themselves as color-blind,
but when push comes to shove, their tiny little
lizard brains still urge them to string up a black man.

Hmmm, I wonder how many Demo voters agree with
him?
We keep hearing how happy we are with our choices

lastchancedemocracycafe.com
He was being nice, but is what he said accurate?
Do I slash and burn those who "fail to worship?"
I doubt you can quote anything I've written that backs up that
wild assertion
Sure, if you're a "Mena Airport, Vince Foster, Billary"
handjob I'll mock you,
but I have no problem with sane folks who prefer Obama or Edwards.
And people who set themselves on fire because "Hillary
is pure evil" need a shrink,
but I knew when I was a kid that the world was full of crazies
- I'm OK with that, too.
Here's something you maybe never heard before:
"I will vigorously support our nominee thru Election Day."
Be very
suspicious of anyone who refuses to say the same
thing.
If a web site fails to state that clearly, you have to wonder
if they're Democrats.
Remember when ALL the pundits (and not a few bloggers)
said one of Gore's
biggest mistakes in his 2000 campaign was that
he didn't use the Big Dog?
Now it's 2008 and guess what: All the pundits
(and not a few bloggers) are
saying it's a mistake for Hillary to use the
Big Dog to get her message across.
Funny, eh?
Initially, I was for whomever the Dem candidate
was going to be, with my
preference being Edwards (I'm tired of machine
Dems who listen only to their
advisers), but with all the manufactured outrage
coming from Obama and his
people lately he is definitely at the bottom
of my list.

The Clinton haters know Bill is the best ever in a campaign,
that's why they're "helping" Hillary with advice to dump him.
They seem so surprised that the best campaigner ever is having a big
effect.
It's all about lying to one's self.
Excerpt: Bill Clinton should remember that Americans expect
their former presidents to gracefully
step down, and step down for good. Certainly,
no one expects them to engage in petty
attacks or dirty campaign tactics against fellow
party members in a contested primary election.
If Hillary Clinton is truly ready for prime time,
she should take the reins of her own campaign,
and show the electorate that a co-presidency
is not in the works. After all, Senator Clinton is
a qualified, driven and shrewd individual. She
doesn't need her husband to be the face of her
campaign, and neither does America."
Translation: We were hoping we wouldn't have to run against the
best campaigner ever.
He should only be allowed to campaign every third day, he's so
good with people!
We gambled and lost and now we're whining about the way things turned
out.
It's my understanding that Israel cut the power to Gaza
to punish Gaza for allowing rockets to be fired into Israel.
If I had my choice between shelling my neighbor or having electricity,
I'd go for that electricity every time - but then again, I'm not religiously
insane.
Subject: Dear Anti-Semitic Turd,
There have been 1500 rockets launched from Gaza
into Israel, but when the Jews
finally defend themselves you invoke Christ Killer

Please hold your breath for the next half hour.
The world would benefit from having one fewer

All The Best,
Wolgang von Helsing
Wolfgang, I did that on purpose.
I figured it wasn't fair for Bill & Hilly to hog all the crazy-ass
hate.
I've been called lots of things in my 13 years online,
but I think you're the first to call me a liberal Democrat.
Excerpt: "I didn't have an exchange with Senator Clinton
over race. I did not say at any point that
I thought they were talking about race. Take a look. There's not a single
quote in which that's
been a suggestion I've made...I don't view them as having gone after
me on the basis of race."
Oh, really? After a month of Bush's whore press beating up
the Clintons for Obama,
he NOW clears the air and says none of that ever
happened?
I would never accuse Obama of "being like Bush,"
but remember how Bush
milked that whole "9-11 and Iraq" story for a
year or two, then finally had to
admit that there was never any connection between
the two?
Indeed, Obama aide Steve Hildebrand was quoted
yesterday as follows:
"The Clintons have always put people in a box
- they look at everything through racial lines, gender lines, geographic
lines; they tend to segment people...If the Clintons paint him as the
black candidate, no one's going to stop them from doing that. They are playing
the same old-style games."
Interesting that Obama can say, "They never
did that," while his employees are out making that very charge?
...and they're doing it with the help of the media that YOU once didn't
trust.
Thank you. Your website and The Daily Howler
are the only ones I have found that tell
the truth about Hillary Clinton. I didn't
think it was possible for the media to lie about anyone
more than they did Gore in 2000, but the attacks
on her and the double standard shown by
their treatment of her vs. their swooning over
Obama have proven me wrong.
If I did not already support her, it would be
easy for me to decide who gets my vote:
In 2000 the media supported Bush and trashed
Gore and consider how that turned out; In 2004 the media supported Bush and trashed
Kerry, so we got four more years of Bush. Now in 2008, the media is supporting Obama
and trashing Clinton.
If the media hates her this much, I believe she
will make a damn fine President; and it'll be
a cold day in hell before I vote for anyone else.
And by the way, I started out firmly believing
we should all support whoever the Democratic
nominee turns out to be. Now, however, after
seeing the way Obama has tried to label the Clinton's
as "racist," he should not be so sure he'll
get my vote if he gets the nomination.
Some things I consider unforgivable, and his yelling
racism toward two people who have
consistently done everything in their power to
fight racism may well prove to be more than
I am willing to overlook.
Bobby
Bobby, I'm flattered to be mentioned with The Daily Howler.
That's a real website and they deserve to be taken seriously.
I don't know if Bob Somerby is pro-Hillary or just pro-honesty.
You're right about the media - that want the Democrat to lose.
That's why the media and the cable Nazis and talk radio bastards want
Obama.
They'd love to battle someone who's in his first big fight.
That said, I disagree with your last paragraph:
I'll be a full-bore Obama-maniac if he can drop Hillary to the canvas.
>"In the space of 2-3 years, we could replace
every gas station with > a battery exchage station and boom - we've
solved the problem. "
I know what you're saying Bart, but it's not quite
that simple. The transition will be
very difficult, very expensive, and will really
take more like 20-30 years. You just
can't take 300 million cars off the road, replace
10 million gas stations (guessing on
numbers here) and erect 300 square miles worth
of solar panels in that amount of
time. Nor can you put up high-speed commuter
rail in all the places it makes sense
in that amount of time, either. The infrastructure
supporting gasoline-powered vehicles is huge.
This is relevant because you're making it sound
too easy. It's not. We need to start
changing this *immediately* because it can''t
be done in <10 years no matter how
much money you throw at it. And we're not going
to have the cash to do it if we
keep sending all of our money to Dubai.
Eric
I disagree - all it would take is a commitment from the government.
Soon it will cost $100 to fill up your tank - that's real motivation.
The people selling gas can just convert to swapping batteries.
Where do you see a holdup?
Our presidential aspirants talk about helping
the middle class, but they won't say what it is.
What is middle class? I wish they would
give an income range, e.g., 20K to 60K or whatever.
I damn well know I ain't upper class, but I don't
know if I'm lower class or middle class,
and I neeed to know so I can act appropriately.
Can anyone tell me constitutes Middle Class?
Tony
Tony, I think it depends on where you live.
In Tulsa, you can live like a king on $60K.
In San Fran, you eat out of trash cans if you're that broke :)
Excerpt: I was amused this week with this NY

Yes, that's because whatever you have done in
the past has no bearing on
determining if you should be elected PRESIDENT
OF THE UNITED STATES...
If only the NYT had some reporters available back

Excerpt: Our opinion of Josh has dropped and dropped over
the past several years. In our view,
he was out there in the summer of 2002, saying
things he knew were untrue, and he has
refused to tell you, over the years, about the
real shape of your politics. (Today's post in
an example.) With growing surprise, we've watched
him turn himself into the Inconsequential
Republican Blow-Job Police, presumably as a way
to throw bones to his readers, whom he
apparently takes to be dimwits. (If we may borrow
from the Steinbeck: Whenever an
inconsequential state senator gives someone a
blow job, Josh will be there.) A few months ago,
we reviewed his work from 1999 and 2000, and
we were truly stunned by its brilliance -
stunned because we'd grown accustomed to the
dumbed-down version of Josh we'd been
reading over the past several years.
I stopped reading your blog awhile back. Guess
I got to reading too many others.
Well, I'm back. You are the only blog I
can find defending Hillary.
Seems like all that is out there is Obamamania.
I'm with you - I don't trust the news media and
all their gushing over Obama.
This is a set up to get him elected because they know he will lose.
Why don't people see this?
All this pie in the sky coming from Obama just
is not that easy to do in the real world.
I'll go for experience over on the job training
for president. We finally have a person
running for president that has some balls and
what do the people do, they vote for an
image set by the mainstream media.
