Excerpt: I generally attempt to avoid conspiratorial conclusions,
but I have just watched
a Hillary Clinton campaign commercial that raises
a few troubling questions...
Hillary raises "troubling questions" when she
breathes air.
Call me crazy,
ha ha Don't do my job for me, OK?
...but it certainly appears to me that Obama's
skin tone is significantly darker
in the Clinton campaign commercial. Watch
it again and see if you agree.
Why should we?
You've already labeled Hillary a racist, so what
do the facts matter?
The way I understand things (stop laughing!) Obama can't
get the necessary number
of delegtes to win the nomination ...without Michigan and Florida -
so we have a tie.
Clearly, a deal will have to be made.
She has the momentum and the big states, so what's our next move?
Question: Would Obama be a stronger candidate (and perhaps the future of our
party)
after getting 4 or 8 years of White House experience the way Al Gore
did?
Depending on how the race goes, maybe Clinton
and Obama should just flip a coin.
The winner gets to run for president. The loser
has the option to be the Vice President.
I think that either Clinton/Obama or Obama/Clinton
are winning tickets.
If the election is so close where there's a question
about who really won,
rather than fighting over it we can resolve it
by a simple coin flip.
No one would question the results.
"In a startling moment at a campaign stop,
Hillary described herself and McCain
as stalwarts in the experience game and
boiled down Obama's credentials to "a speech in 2002".
-- Ann Davidow (D-Panties-in-a-wad) avid Obama backer Link
Maybe her bigger point is:
Where was Obama's big anti-war speech in 2003?
Where was Obama's big anti-war speech in 2004, at Kerry's convention?
Where was Obama's big anti-war speech in 2005?
Where was Obama's big anti-war speech in 2006?
Where was Obama's anti-war filibuster
in 2007? Was stopping the war worth standing up, Barack?
Perhaps She was asking, "If he's got more than
a 2002 speech - where is it?"
Having read your page since before the Colossal
Failure splooged all over the Whitehouse, I find myself
somewhat concerned. For you my friend. I could
be wrong and I hope to hell I am, but reading you lately
has me wondering if you have gone over the edge.
Certainly not because of your support of Hillary,
but because of the lengths you appear to have
gone to, to disparage Obama.
Oh crap it never ends does it? Forget I wrote.
Clearly you are the only sane one in the room.
Regards,
A very good anonymous friend!
If that was a compliment - thanks. Things
HAVE been crazy, but *I*
haven't attacked Obama personally or any Obamaniacs
personally.
I print news reports and columns and I have my
own opinions,
but I think I've had the coolest head of anybody
on this.
I was the first to say I wished this civil war
was over.
Excerpt: Such rightists as Limbaugh, McLaughlin, George
Will, and Robert Novak enjoy much more
exposure to mass audiences than left liberals
and populists like Jim Hightower, Jerry Brown,
or Ralph Nader. And all of them, conservatives
and liberals, enjoy more exposure than anyone
on the more "radical" or Marxist Left.
It is the economic power of the rich corporate
media owners and advertisers that provides
right-wingers with so many mass outlets, not
the latter's wit and wisdom. It is not public demand
that brings them on the air; it is private corporate
owners and sponsors. They are listened to by
many not because they are so appealing but because
they are so available. Availability is the first
and necessary condition of consumption. In this
instance, supply does not merely satisfy demand;
supply creates demand. Hence, those who align
themselves with the interests of corporate
America will have more freedom of expression
than those who remain steadfastly critical.
Democrats aren't greedy bastards, so we never get rich enough
to own giant media conglomerates - so how do we fight back?
Excerpt: The "Saturday Night Live" skit that showed reporters
fawning over Obama
while grilling Hillary Clinton like a felony
suspect, wasn't too far off the mark.
The media coverage of the Clinton campaign is
textbook case of how the coverage
of female candidates differs from that of males.
Women have to walk a very thin line
when they run for high office. On the one hand,
they have to appear tough, nothing at all
like a sniveling female, and when they do talk
tough, they are called "shrill."
The media loved Hillary when she put her hand
on Obama's and said it was a privilege
to be on the same podium; they hated her when
she slammed him for giving out what
she called misleading information on her healthcare
plan.
At the same time, the news media have gone into
a deep swoon over Obama. Howard Kurtz
said, "I haven't seen a politician get this
kind of walk-on-water coverage since Colin Powell flirted with making a run for
the White House. I mean, it is amazing."
This is more about hating the Clintons than keeping
women in their place.
Sidebar: If Hillary becomes Clinton
44, she'll have Tina Fey to thank.
Tina Fey might become the first comic to swing
an election since Ralph Nader.
Speaking of Nader, I agreed with almost every
word he said on Jon Stewart.
By why does his message always come with a side
dish of "Fuck the Democrats?"
Bart, I'm pumped that you don't have to
jump on the Obama bandwagon!
I think her winning Ohio and Texas proves that
Obamania is starting to wane
and the appeal of having a Clinton back in the
Whitehouse is strong, especially in
light of the economy.
The longer this goes, the more people will migrate
back to Clinton.
People think it is cool to be an Obama fan, but
when they really think about
who can get it done, no question Hillary instills
confidence.

The exit polls agree with you. That idiot Bill
Schneider says the people who
decided at the last minute broke sharply for
the lady with the experience.
But I'll support whoever the Dem's nominee and
her VP.
MSGOP is reporting that Senior Obama advisor David
Axelrod consulted with
writers from TV's "West Wing" and then MSGOP
ran footage of Matt Santos
and Obama giving identical speeches, line by
line.
This Wednesday morning, many, many Democrats are
wondering, "Where's the Obama beef?"
Since Obama is being accused of being "All speeches
and no substance,"
can the Obama campaign afford more charges
of plagiariasm?
...link to (that formerly great site) anymore.
Those douchebags give me a headache.
Honestly, these folks could have respectfully
displayed a preference for their candidate in a no-comments
editorial, then continued to point out the lies
and hypocrisies of the mainstream media or the important
but ignored stories displaying the flaws of the
conservative mentality. That was what made them great,
but like all the other liberal/progressive
sites they had to forcefully weigh in on Obama vs. Clinton by
basically recycling the old Republican talking
points of days gone by.
You know - the ones they used to call bullshit.
The regurgitation of the ancient anti-Clinton talking points
is even more shocking when I consider that these
folks are Dems, or at least claim to be. How could you
spend so many years raging against it,
then suddenly BAM, spew it all back out like you always believed it?
I like Obama, but if I am going to vote for him
in November, I really need
to stay away from his supporters because they
just kill it for me.
Keep Hammerin' and Staying Balanced and Sane,
GAJ
I agree.
We've lost some great sites and some great writers.
These last 60 days have been the most hateful
since I've been in the business.
Gee, I wonder - who started that ball rolling?
Who was it that got us to stop fighting the Bush
bastards so we could fight each other?
Who gained power by splitting the party and
getting Democrats to fight Democrats?
"Ann Davidow on Betraying the Democratic Party:
"But in what has become a cringe-producing
(If you're an Obama fan) campaign effort She
also reinvigorated a lot of those unfortunate feelings
about the "politics of personal destruction" so often associated with the Clintons (If
you're an Obama fan). When was the last time
a candidate from one party praised an opposing
party's candidate in an attempt to denigrate an opponent in their own party - - and
did so, it should be added, with such questionable tactics." -- Monster headline (takes up the whole screen)
on buzzflash.com
What Hillary said was "Do at the math." After 25 years in the senate, how you gonna call McCain
"unqualified?"
He may be a senile and delusional warmonger with no economic sense,
but "unqualified" isn't an applicable term for him.
Dude... If the 'Whore Press' was all kinda crazy
nuts over Hillary
like they are over Obama would they still be
the 'Whore Press'?
Or would they be responsible, objective journalists?
Just askin', mind ya...
BadtotheboneBob
BtoBB, that's a damn great question.
For asking, I'm giving you 60 days of Bartcop
Radio.
The answer is, all I want the sons of bitches
to do is tell the truth.
They say, "We
report just the facts" and then they rag
on Hillary for an hour,
then the second hour is on the phenom of the
miracle known as "Obama's Greatness."
Why can't they just report the facts OR
say, "This is my opinion." But no, they won't do that either.
Formerly great and sane writers like Bob Parry
became mind-readers,
explaining what Hillary was thinking when
she hatched her devlish schemes.
That's such horseshit!
And for the most part, it's happened in the last
90 days.
The Bush Administration said each of us will get
a nice rebate.
If we spend that money at Wal-Mart, all the money
will go to China.
If we spend it on gasoline it will all go to
the Arabs, and neither will
help the American economy.
We need to keep that money here in America, so
the only way to keep that money
here at home is to buy beer or spend it on prostitution,
since those are the only
businesses still in the US and plowing their
money back into the US.

I suggest we help some small farmers out - buy some of God's flowers.
I've learned over the years that the Democrats
have a special talent for snatching defeat
from the jaws of victory, and I get the sickening
feeling 2008 will be no different.
Can I say one thing?
We had the White House won about
but a fresh-faced newcomer might've gotten an
itch for power.
We had this race won,
and Obama stepped in "to unite us."
The primary wars really have been unbelievably
ugly.
I think the racism accusations against the Clintons
are bullshit. But I also think the ugliness
of the attacks coming from Hillary supporters
like Taylor Marsh (I don't know him) have been
close to lunacy. And the recent claim by Hillary
that McCain is more prepared
to be president
than Obama really rubbed me the wrong way.
Now, you might not agree with my interpretation,
but when she says, "I've got experience, McCain has experience, Obama just has a speech,
how am I supposed to interpret it?"
I suggest you interpret it in the spirit she sent
it - she was desperate, her back was against the wall.
She had the option to surrender or fight harder
and she chose to fight harder - it might've worked.
I have to have an answer from someone on this:
just what "experience" does Hillary specifically have?
What Clinton foreign policy move was she in on?
(Did she even have security clearance on such matters?)
<snippage, but it was good - maybe next
issue> Joe Miller
Joe, great question - that gets you 60 days of BCR!
I fail to see why people don't give her credit for those years.
Who thinks she was busy baking cookies when the BIG decisions were
being made?
I'm not saying she made them, but I'll bet the more important the decision
was,
the more she made sure Bill knew what she was thinking.
If Obama sat in on every important White House meeting, behind closed
doors with JUST the president and maybe 2-3 of his closest staffers, for eight
long years, wound that really count for nothing?
That surgeon's wife example is even more stupid than "Paris
being famous for being famous." Observing a president and his staff making 5,000 decisions over 8 years
is nothing like going
to 12 years of medical school to learn Latin and doesn't everybody
realize that - deep down?
Hillary probably had more access to the presidency than Gore had.
Would you count Gore's eight years as "no experience?"
"Ed, I use to love your show,
but lately, all you do is tear down Hillary in what seems like every
minute of every day of every show. If she wins, what are you going to talk about
on your show?" -- a caller to Ed Schultz yesterday
"I'll talk about anything I want, ...and
you don't deserve an answer." -- Ed Schultz, who then hung up on the guy
Why do people feel so strongly about that which they can't defend?
Ed Schultz is a professional talk show host - why can't he answer a
simple question?
Sidebar: I predict Randi Rhodes will be insane with rage today
- I'm going to listen.
Sidebar: Last night on MSGOP, Rachel Maddow (major Obama fan)
said Obama
"looked like a bunny" to many liberals

Obama may have
a problem and Keith Olbermann might be at the top of that list..
Bart, if poor old Barack can't take the wee bit
of heat that Hillary is giving him,
what the hell is he going to do when the swift
boating starts? If he ends up being
the nominee, he ought to thank Hillary for giving
him at least a tiny idea of what it
might be like down the road!
And what if there is an Obama /Clinton or Clinton
/Obama ticket?
One of the Faux News people was saying last night
that with as much time and money
as both campaigns have spent, that there was
no way they would trot out a Bill Richardson, etc.
Man, if that's the ticket, it's really going to
be funny to see how the Hillary bashers react!
UHMonster
I think it's going to be more "bloody" than "funny."
"If Obama will not stand up and fight back
then it does not matter how many delegates he has he will not win this nomination nor
will he deserve it. If he is going to continue the sickening rhetoric like "Clinton will
make a great president "then she will be." -- Zeusthunderbolt, Link
"Dear God, Am I going to have to vote for Nader?" -- unsolved999, an Obama supporter, upset about Hillary's
wins, Link
"Hillary not so much the new Comeback Kid as
the new Freddie Krueger." -- Lucianne.com,
If Hillary ends up as the president, there is one bright side:
Bob Parry, Andrew Sullivan and Arianna will still have careers.
Bart, I am SO SICK of reading and hearing about
how horrible Hillary is,
and how wonderful Obama is, even if no one really
knows whether he is wonderful or not.
At least for the moment we can stop hearing about
how Hillary simply HAS to drop out.
I'm sure since she won Texas and Ohio, they'll
all just suggest rather than demand she drop out.
And why aren't people from the states that have
not held primaries screaming bloody murder
at those who say it should be over? Don't they
want their votes to count?
Best,

I just finished removing about fifteen so-called
progressive websites from my 'favorites' list.
I've never seen so much hatred spewed at Clinton
and us 'dummies' in Ohio who voted for her.
I would expect that kind of crap from Rethuglican
sites, but from those supposedly on our side?
Frankly, I'm ashamed. And worried.
Worried because time after time, I'm reading statements
from our 'bretheren' stating that they would
vote for McInsane before they would vote for Hillary.
I'm finally seeing how Bush got a second term.
And I'm scared shitless that these 'pony wanters'
will put another Rethug in the Oval Office.
I don't think this country could stand another four years
of Rethug rule...or another hundred years of
war in Iraq, if you believe what McCain says.
Like you, I have my preferences regarding who
our Dem candidate will be.
And, like you, I will vote for whoever becomes
the Dem standard bearer.
I wish these 'progressives' would make
the same pledge...to do otherwise can only spell disaster.

Excerpt: Mukasey's Paradox dates back to his confirmation
hearings, when he denied knowing what
waterboarding was and then (when it was defined
for him) refused to recognize it as torture.
In fact, it is not only a crime under U.S. law,
it is a well-defined war crime under international law.
But if he admitted waterboarding was a crime,
then it was a crime that had been authorized by Bush
-- an admission that would trigger calls for
both a criminal investigation and impeachment. Mukasey's
confirmation was facing imminent defeat over
his refusal to answer the question when Chuck Schumer
and Feinstein suddenly rescued him, guaranteeing
that he would not have to answer it.
Once in office, and asked to order a criminal
investigation of the program, Mukasey refused.
His rationale left many lawyers gasping: Any
torture that occurred was done on the advice of counsel
and therefore, while they may have been wrong,
it could not have been a crime for CIA interrogators
or, presumably, the president. If this sounds
ludicrous, it is. Under that logic, any president can simply surround himself with extremist or collusive
lawyers and instantly decriminalize any crime.

Thank you for aluding to another clear and concise
example of Bush era neo politics.
McCain
rushs to bury his nose in GWBush's ass after he wins the GOP nomination
even though
GWBush mashed a cream shit pie in McCain's face
when they opposed each other.
Maybe a light will blink on above the democratic
candidates heads and they will realize,
when hit with a cream shit pie, it's in the parties
best interest to kiss and make up.
If they don't we're screwed for good.

Hey Bart, if what I am seeing is any indication
then Obamamania is over, done, kaput.
I work with an Obamaniac and he came in to work
this morning march 4, in a good mood
considering his guy lost 3 out of 4.
He actually said that since Obama had lost Ohio and Texas
that it is time for him to withdraw and help
reunite the party under Hillary.
Now Bart this ain't just some kid who was swept
up in the Obamania.
He was a die hard supporter and financial contributor,
he and his wife both gave
and supported the Obamamania.
But they both seem to think it's time to get behind
Hillary.
I think it's gonna be a day or two, but I think
he will withdraw and indeed even help Hillary.
Hell, he ain't about to blow his 2016 run
by dissing her. He'd be a fool, right?
Excerpt: Bush's thug at the FBI, Robert Mueller, says

Mueller's admission came just days before the

Over a three-year period, the FBI had demanded
personal data on regular people
