McCain's
oil drilling hoax

Forced to cancel a visit to an oil platform off
the Mississippi coast recently because of bad weather
- and the untimely leaking of hundreds of thousands
of gallons of oil from a damaged barge in the area
- John McCain finally got his photo op at a California
derrick on July 28. Speaking at the Bakersfield site,
he delivered extraordinarily good news as he
explained why we must drill offshore.
McCain, basing his remarks on briefings he received
from "the oil producers," said: 'There are some
instances (that) within a matter of months they
could be getting additional oil. In some cases, it would be
a matter of a year. In some cases it could take
longer than that, depending on the location and whether
you use existing rigs or you have to install
new rigs, but there's abundant resources in the view of the
people who are in the business that could be
exploited within a period of months.'"
They keep saying, "Gas will be cheaper if you
let us ruin America's most pristine wilderness areas,"
but if we give in, they'll just raise the price to $6 a gallon and
say, "We don't have a magic wand."
I say fuck the greedy oil bastards.
They already make $1600 in profits per minute and they want more.
We should call their bluff.
We should tell BIG OIL they can have ANWAR and off-shore both
if they guarantee us all the $2 gas we can guzzle by Christmas.
If they can't meet that goal, we nationalize the oil companies.
I'll bet gasoline would drop to $1.25 a gallon inside of 90 days.
They'll say, "Nationalizing the oil business
would be socialism,"
but aren't we already drinking socialized water?
Aren't we policed by socialized cops?
Isn't socialized natural gas heating your home?
Isn't socialized electricity powering your home?
Isn't socialized mail what delivers letters from Grandma?
The list is endless.
We can't allow the oil bastards to bankrupt
what's left of our once-great country.
The crooked oil bastards will gouge us until somebody stops them.
They don't want unlimted money and power - they want it all.

How the
GOP gets away with Lying

It's called "The Hannity Strategy."
Hannity employs a slick strategy of repeating
canards very quickly over and over, day in and day out,
which aren't challenged by his TV co-host Alan
Colmes or by any of his radio listeners.
Alan Colmes is a patsy, put there for Hannity to pummel every night on every point.
By relentlessly repeating falsehoods day after
day, it becomes embedded in the media.
There is truth in this. In 2004, the Bush campaign
ran an ad and daily repeated that Kerry
was a flip flopper, running a Kerry clip with
the Democratic candidate saying he voted for
an $87 billion military appropriation before
he voted against it. It sounded bad when ripped
out of context. Kerry voted for it in committee,
and then voted against in on a floor vote
when the bill included giveaways to Halliburton
he didn't support.
If Kerry had half a brain or half a sac, (Should
I bother to finish?) he could've said,
"It's not possible to vote for and against
the same bill. I voted for the good bill,
but when they changed the bill to give more
unearned billions to Cheney's Halli-thieves,
I had no choice but to vote against their
bait-and-switch."
But Kerry couldn't muster up the 64 IQ points necessary to construct that sentence.
And the magic of it is, each time they called
him "flip-flopper" he'd get to repeat the story
of how Cheney's Halli-thieves werestealing
military funds from our fighting men,
but noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.
Kerry couldn't figure that out.
I wonder why?
Why did Kerry refuse to fight when his country
and the world needed him to step up?
The distortion took on a life of its own, parroted
by mainstream media including
Chris Matthews, and even the Tom Brokaw and the
late Tim Russert.
Matthews, Brokaw and Russert are/were liarswho
sold their souls for more
millions.
That two of them still have TV jobs tells you
how "honest" America's whore media really is.
It is a case study in how effective advertising
can work
when it is done relentlessly and consistently even
if its untrue.
No, that's a case study of lies taking root
when Democrats don't bother toreply to them
- so ignorant voters think "Where
there's smoke there's probably some fire."

Remember when he promised to run a decent campaign?

On July 3, news reports said McCain, worried that
he might lose the election before it truly started,
opened his doors to disciples of Karl Rove.
Less than a month later, the results are on full display.
The candidate who started out talking about high-minded,
civil debate has wholeheartedly adopted
Rove's low-minded and uncivil playbook.
In recent weeks, McCain has been waving the flag
of fear (Obama wants to "lose" in Iraq), and issuing
attacks that are sophomoric (Obama is a socialist)
and false (Obama turned his back on wounded soldiers).
McCain used to pride himself on being above this
ugly brand of politics, but he clearly tossed his pride
aside when he put day-to-day management of his
campaign in the hands of one acolyte of Mr. Rove and
gave top positions to two others. The résumés
of the new team's members included stints in Bush's
White House and in his 2004 re-election campaign,
one of the most negative and divisive in memory.
McCain can't win on the issues so he's trying to destroy the Democrat.
I wonder why the NYWhore Times isn't helping McCain
more,
like they helped Bush cover up crimes for the
last nine years?
