Jobless Claims Reach a 16-Year High
 ...caused by GOP greed and tax cuts for the super-rich.

New claims for unemployment benefits jumped last week to a 16-year high, providing
more evidence of a rapidly weakening job market expected to get even worse next year.

The government said new applications for jobless benefits rose to a seasonally adjusted
542,000 from a downwardly revised figure of 515,000 in the previous week. That was much
higher than Wall Street economists’ expectations of 505,000, according to Thomas Reuters.

That is also the highest level of claims since July 1992, the department said,
when the economy was coming out of a recession.
 

How many times does my point get proven?   Poppy Bush's job was to crash the economy
so his super-rich Republican friends could buy companies for ten cents on the dollar.

Then Clinton came in, raised taxes on the super-rich and we had the most prosperity ever.

Then Der Monkey came in, crashed the economy so his super-rich Republican friends could
buy companies for ten cents on the dollar while giving them billions in borrowed money
and we're in the worse economic mess than any in the past seventy f-ing years.

Can we get any Democrats to list the damn facts?

An Unpardonable use of Power

If President Bush were to pardon key individuals involved in the misdeeds of his administration,
from warrantless wiretapping to torture to the firing of U.S. attorneys for political reasons, the courts
would be unable to address criminality, or pass judgment on the legality of some of the president's
worst abuses.  Issuing such pardons now would be particularly egregious, since voters just issued
such a strong condemnation of the Bush administration at the ballot box.  There is nothing to prevent
Bush from using the pardon in such a short-sighted and self-serving manner -- except, perhaps, public
pressure that may itself be a window on the judgment of history.  Everyone who can exert that pressure,
from members of Congress to the press and the public, should express their views on whether it would
be appropriate for President Bush to use his pardon power in this way.
 

If the Democrats had any brains (Why do I torture myself this way?) they would make the case NOW
than anyone who gets a pardon from Bush is most probably a torturer, a muderer, a kidnapper, a rapist,
an anti-Constitutional scumbag who needed a pardon because he was part of Bush's Global Crime Spree.

If they had any brains or balls they could frame this issue UP-FRONT.
They could taint Bush's pardons to a point where someone might rather take their chances
than have the stench of a Bush pardon hung around their necks for the rest of their lives.

But we know the Democrats will stumble and fuck up and drop the ball like they always do.
They're fucking incapable of getting ahead of a story like this. 

All they can do is express "great shock and anger" after the fact and then Patrick Leahy 
and Harry Reid will send a hot letter to the White House that the Neo Cons will tear into pieces 
while masturbating to Gitmo torture videos.

I was hoping you could help me with something here in Georgia.
We are staging a HUGE GOTV calling program and I was hoping that you
could ask your readers to help by making calls to Georgia voters to GOTV
for Jim Martin to beat (that bastard) Saxby Chambliss for US Senate.

We all know how crucial this run off election is.  I have the updated voter file parsed
(updated from the General election) and can send a list of voters anyone who would
like to volunteer to make calls to Ga.  I know you have a HUGE reader base and thought
that if people would e-mail me, I could send them a list with the number of voters
they would like to call.

again.

We are addicted to words that nobody can define without committing a grand fallacy:  The “moral” presidential
candidate is the divorced man who met his billionaire bombshell second wife in a bar. The “socialist” candidate is
the one who wants to stop redistributing all the wealth to the already wealthy.

The man you can “trust” in the White House was a member of the Keating Five, but the one you can’t was,
like Jesus, a community organizer (Pontius Pilate was the governor). The “crazy” preacher is the one who dared
to say that America’s actions of late have been damnable, but not the one who speaks in tongues and casts the
demons of witchcraft out of a woman who would be vice president.

We are on the wrong side of history again, and we’re damn proud of it.
 

So - there are at least two sane people in this backwards state - plus Eddy the Pillar makes three.

He's right tho - Okies are damn proud of their ignorance.
When they talk about "Oklahoma vales," they mean "reject science for religious insanity."
Okies tolerate Blacks because they can play football, but gays and foreigners?  Not a chance.

Oklahoma was the only state where every county was won by the fascists. Utah has some blue,
same for South Carolina and Idaho, but not Oklahoma and we're so goddamn proud of our
ignorance and out backwards stupidity that we're going to go handle some snakes.

newspapers, specifically The New York Times and The Washington Post, got suckered into running
single-source, frontpage propaganda about Saddam Hussein’s nonexistent weapons of mass destruction.
The embedded mainstream media treated the subsequent invasion of Iraq as the world’s biggest Boy Scout
jamboree until chaos in Baghdad became impossible to ignore.

So was it shocking after Barack Obama’s election to find pundits on TV with warnings such as that
America remains a conservative country and he must 'discipline' the 'ardent activists' who elected him
by engaging 'interests that usually ally with Republicans'?

In short, if Obama ignores the gasbags and leads, Americans will follow.

It would be to produce Bartcop Radio shows if I had some help.

If you have a microphone and something you need to get off your chest,
make an MP3 and send it to me because if I get a handful of those,
it cuts my work load which would mean more radio shows more better more often.

One thing - speak loudly and clearly and be sure to give it some volume.

and that's a bad thing, but now you advise Obama to avoid Hillary and appoint
Kerry or Richardson as Secretary of State because they were early Obama supporters?

And that's a good thing?
