Rethugs Kill Big 3 Bailout
Excerpt:
A $14 billion emergency bailout for U.S. automakers
collapsed in the Senate Thursday night
after the United Auto Workers refused to accede
to Republican demands for swift wage cuts.
The collapse came after bipartisan talks on the
auto rescue broke down over GOP demands that
the UAW agree to steep wage cuts by 2009 to bring
their pay into line with Japanese carmakers.
Harry Reid (R-Wimp) said he hoped Bush would tap
the $700 billion Wall Street bailout fund for
emergency aid to the automakers. GM and Chrysler
say they could be weeks from collapse.
Ford says it does not need federal help now,
but its survival is far from certain."
The man who does my taxes told me a story. He
said he also does the taxes for a janitor for the
GM plant in Oklahoma City. He says that
fella is a real janitor, he's not some supervisor or anything,
he physically pushes a broom around and sweeps
the floor. He makes $65,000 a year.
I assume he told me the truth AND he's in a position
to know - because he did his taxes.
Is this why GM loses $2000 on each car
they sell?.
And if a janitor makes $65,000, what do the guys who assemble the cars
make?

BTW, $65,000 might not be a lot on New York City or San Francisco,
but in Oklahoma that's a lot of money.

probe has been launched into Norm Coleman ties
to businessman Nasser Kazeminy:
Federal investigators are looking into allegations that a longtime
friend and benefactor tried to steer money to
U.S. Sen. Norm Coleman, (R-Rat Bastard).
Agents with the FBI have talked to or made efforts
to talk to people in Texas familiar with the allegations.
Houston is where the first of two lawsuits was
filed alleging Nasser Kazeminy, a Bloomington financier,
tried to steer $100,000 to Coleman via his wife's
Minneapolis employer. The second suit, filed in Delaware,
alleges Kazeminy initially tried to get money
directly to the senator.
Well then arrest him so Al Franken can be the Minnesota senator.
