"Obama's speech was nothing special - I suspect
it will be forgotten very soon."
-- my good friend Jeffery Toobin, with his head up his ass, on CNN
That was a great speech.
He had to tell the world there was a new,
sane sheriff in town.
He told the rest of the world we were reverting
back to a no-torture policy.
He also told the religiously insane handjobs
that they'd lose if they attacked us.
Best part - Bush had no choicfe but to sit
there and take it.
Excerpt: Obama ordered all federal agencies and departments
on Tuesday to stop any pending regulations
until they can be reviewed by incoming staff,
halting last-minute Bush orders in their tracks.
"This afternoon, Rahm Emanuel signed a memorandum
sent to all agencies and departments to stop
all pending regulations until a legal and policy
review can be conducted by the Obama administration,"
the White House said in a statement issued just
hours after Obama took office.
The review is a tool commonly used by a new administration
to delay so-called "midnight regulations"
put in place by sexually repressed former presidents
between the election and Inauguration Day.
Now that humanity have come out of 8 years of
the dark ages, let us resolve to never again let that happen.
We as a nation have risen up and now The People
are in control again. No longer are we under the thumb of
the rich and powerful, that we will not be ruled
by big oil and the tobacco industry. The we shall not be oppressed
by big banks, the pharmaceutical giants, the
religious industry, the military industry, and Wall Street.
We are no longer a nation of lies and slogans,
but have turned to the reality of our greatest visions,
to be a nation of the People, by the People,
and for the People.
"If we don’t have an inquest into what happened
during the Bush years — and nearly everyone has taken Mr. Obama’s remarks to mean that we
won’t — this means that those who hold power are indeed above the law because they don’t face any
consequences if they abuse their power." -- Paul Krugman,
speaking for a lot of us, Link
Fine, but you need to be hounding Pussy Pelosi and Chickenshit
Reid.
Obama's got too much on his plate to look backwards.
My thoughts during the oath were not about me
so much as my kids.
I've had my share of discrimination, as a lesbian,
but my four year old twins are Black, (Brown, as they say).
They see a president who looks like them.
They came home from pre k yesterday squealing - "Mom, we saw
a man on TV at school and his name is BARACKOBAMA!
and he's President! and we watched!"
That brought tears to my eyes. They are
going to remember that event for the rest of their lives.
He's also lived a life a little like theirs will
be - raised mostly by people who aren't Black as in their
two white moms and their Hispanic, white and
racially mixed siblings.

Subject: watching Obama
take the oath
Bart--I didn't stay home and watch President Obama
take the Oath because I had something very important
to do at work. At 9 AM Pacific Time, I donned
a pair of rubber gloves and removed President Asshole and
Vice President THE DICK's pictures and replaced
them with President Obama and Vice President Biden.
After removing President Asshole picture,
I took off the gloves and then I almost broke down and cried
when I touched President Obama's picture frame.
That was my contribution to this wonderful day!

Subject: watching Obama
take the oath
What was watching Obama take the oath like for
me? I'll tell you what today was like for me.
A time long ago (1965), in a land far away (South
Dakota) I was a member of this country's armed forces
doing my part to insure a stalemate in Mutual
Assured Destruction. One night while visiting downtown Rapid City,
I was sitting there, minding my own business,
smoking a cigarette, and I happened to spit on the ground.
All of a sudden there was a knife in my face,
and attached to the knife was a great, big, white guy,
and the big white guy was saying, "You spit at
me! I'm gonna cut you, you fuckin' nigger!
I'm not going to lie to you, I was scared shitless.
I didn't know what to do. No way to fight, no where to flee
when all of a sudden, out of nowhere, a tall
dark man (Tom Almond, I'll never forget him) appeared wearing
a cast on his right arm, that went from his elbow
to his fingertips. He proceeded to lay that cast upside my
assailant's head knocking him ass over teakettle.
Needless to say, I was quite elated.
Yeah, kinda like that. That's how today
was for me.
Safe after facing eminent danger. I was
quite elated. I still am.
Peace --Joe
Subject: watching Obama
take the oath
When I was a kid I grew up around the Karnes City,
Texas area. We were migrant workers.
When we went to the stores or the Mercantile
(as they used to call them) we had to enter through the back doors.
Yes, we were "Mexicans" oh, I mean Hispanics.
Anyway we found ourselves with the Black people
at the back doors, sharing the water fountain etc.
During the cotton picking our family usually teamed
up with a Black family and I played with their kids.
We had a grand old time. Their Grandmother was
especially Special. Man she could cook.
What is funny, is that I didn't know they were
Black.
It wasn't until we moved to San Antonio when I
was about 12 that I started seeing the "colors".
What we knew is that there were white people
who ruled and got the best and then there was "us".
I went to school here and found that the white
kids were geared in their education for "college" and
whenever the Blacks or the Mexicans asked about
it we were usually told that we would better be suited
for the vocational classes or the military.
I pray that Obama will do well.
I believe he will and I hope that we can all
get this race thing behind us
and work as a family for a common goal, the good
for all.........
Keep slugging Bart.

Subject: watching Obama
take the oath
When I saw the oath of office taken I felt the
knowledge that there will be no turning back.
The American People had made a fundamental paradigm
shift on race.
Today despair was diminished and the most marginalized
were vindicated.
I then began thinking of my son. No one ever explained
to me the challenge of a single Latina mother
raising a son into manhood in a world where a
man of color has more challenges than opportunities.
Where a man of color was perceived as inferior
and a threat to those in power. I honestly believed that
if you worked hard enough you could be anything
you wanted to be. Even President of the United States.
At least thats what I told my son.
It's what I told myself when people would marginalize
me in my own work.
I believed this until the Rodney King Riots in
Los Angeles.
On April 29, 1992 the Rodney King riots had closed
schools in the Los Angeles area. When I picked up
my 10 year old son from school he was devastated.
He wept uncontrollably because, as he explained through
gulps of breath, “that he would never see justice
because of his skin color”. That he would never be allowed
to do anything important because of his skin
color. That there would be people that would go out of their way
to disparage him. My son and I have had this
reality painfully affirmed almost daily until today.
Today after the inauguration, he sent me a text
message with absolute delight of what he was witnessing and
the implications of an Obama presidency. We both
are aware that racism will continue and we both are aware
we all will continue to experience it. But when
President Obama took the oath of office I felt hope that my children
and their children were that much closer to be
everything they want to be. This was a future I never expected and
I am so very glad that it happened in my life
time.
Excerpt: This was the day that Obama was to become president
and Bush was to stop being president. It was the day that,
for many Americans, this country became their
own for the very first time. Faye Walker, an African-American dancer
and teacher in Washington, told me that she had
been thrown out of schools for refusing to say the Pledge of Allegiance,
because, for her, the words had never felt true.
Tuesday would be the day she'd finally be able to put her hand over her
heart.
"I am ecstatic," said Glendar Haskin, 60, a chemistry
teacher from Altadena, CA. Haskin said she'd been one
of the first
students to integrate LSU. "This is the first
time that the world has really celebrated Martin Luther King Jr.! This
is about
people sharing a common vision. And you know
what happens when people share a vision? Things get done."
"It's like the country's been given back," said
a woman, shaking her head like she was trying to get water out of her ears.
Since the Republicans lied repeatedly and often
about the Clinton people trashing the White House on their way out,
why don't we start lying about the cost of removing
the smell of Brimstone from every place Cheney sat while in the White House?
Let's also remember that our dirty-legged whore
press pretended those lies were true
without ever once asking for proof - it
was just another chance to trash the Clintons.
For over eight years, every bullshit rumor fed
to them by Karl Rove was treated as gospel.
You'd think there would've been a camera in DC
on Inauguration Day 2000, but no.
There were no cameras so the "vandalism" was
never shown to us..

Subject: Here's to Obama
and Munchkins!
Here is to 44 and a new day!!!!!!
Today I am experiencing a rebirth of sorts
- millions of people around the world are too, particularly here in America.
But..
I woke up this morning with this little
light hearted ditty about death in my head and I can't seem to shake it.
So here's to those great little Munchkins
of Oz and their endearing song
"Ding Dong the witch is dead, the witch
is dead, Ding Dong the wicked witch is dead".
Excerpt: With the economy in the tank, companies are doing
all they can to stay afloat.
For many, though, even the most desperate measures
have not been enough.
Circuit City will follow Linens 'n Things
and Sharper Image into liquidation and sell its assets.
Over the next two years, analysts say, countless
other businesses will simply fade away.
Thanks, George.
And thanks to Reid & Pelosi and the others for standing by while
he did this to us.
"No need to thank us, Bart - we're just doing our job!"
Subject: Never send a fictional
character to do a real man's job
During the presidential election California Governor
Arnold Schwarzenegger called Obama a "girly man",
but now the Governator has California stuck in
a budget crisis and can't even communicate with his own
Republican party. How pathetic is that? I just
hope this doesn't affect the way I see him in the movies or
he'll have to do more passive roles in the future
to be believable.
But the real question is - have the voters of
California figured out that you don't elect a fictional character
to do the job of a real person? If we can't balance
the budget then it might be time to punish the voters
by taking away the TV set and the movies until
we get the job done in the real world.
Excerpt: The Senate, acting within hours of Obama's inauguration,
postponed for one day Hillary's vote as Secretary of State.
GOP Sen. John Cornyn (R-Petty Prick), had objected
to approving Clinton's nomination by voice vote - as the other
nominees were today - because he didn't ewant
Hillary to be introduced to the big crowd as the Sec of State. It was a
tiny, petty thing to do, but the big shocker
is that it wasn't Jim Inhofe, the human turd.
Cornyn claims he wanted more debate on the issue
and a recorded vote, which was scheduled for Wednesday.
Hillary is expected to be confirmed by a wide
margin once the cameras have all been turned off.
Once again you called a black man you don't like
the N word.
I am talking about the picture of JC Watts with
the two white women
and your disgraceful us of that racial epithet
in refering to him.
Dave Pittman
Dave, no.
Wait, Dave Pittman, Dave Pittman...
I remember that name and you're a troublemaker.
You see, Dave, I'm trying to educate you.
If you live in a civilized state, those words
might be foreign to you.
But I'm warning people about what kind of cavemen
live in Oklahoma.
Okieland is the only state where Obama failed
to carry a single county.
Blacks aren't welcome in Oklahoma - unless they
can play football.
And Uncle OJ often comes up in Okie.race discussions
because when
he was discovered, (the legend goes - I wasn't
there) his coach asked the
visiting press and coaches,
"What do you think of my nigger?"
Do you think that kind of behavior should be hidden
or exposed?
I think everyone should know what kind of knuckledraggers
live here.
Excerpt: Ted Kennedy, ill with a brain tumor, was hospitalized
Tuesday but quickly reported feeling well after suffering
a seizure at a post-inauguration luncheon for
President Obama." After testing, we believe the incident was
brought on by simple fatigue," Dr. Edward Aulisi
said in a statement released by the senator's office.
"He will remain ... overnight for observation,
and will be released in the morning."
The statement said the 76-year-old senator
"is awake, talking with family and friends, and feeling well."
Good.
I didn't want today's headlines to be,
"Obama Sworn In, Kennedy Dead From Seizure."
Bart, we have survived the worst president ever.
Our jobs and savings have greatly vanished,
hopefully we are seeing the light at the end
of the tunnel. But just to show what a low life piece of shit
Bush is, you should publish the official portrait
that the Rethugs commissioned at the Smithsonian.
Notice his hands, that is not an accident, that
is just one more
piece of evidence that this arrogant mother F'er
doesn't give a shit.
He's posing like Daniel Pearl did in his final
minutes.
(Best picture I could find - f-ing Google filters)
Farewell Bush, you worthless piece of shit!!!
The damage you have inflicted on this country
will only be surpassed
by the damage you have done to the Republican
party.
Proud Liberal in Peoria Illinois
Thank you for being there in the darkest
days.
Let's not forget that these fuckers are
still out there,
waiting for an opportunity to grab the
reins again.
We have to keep our eyes on them.
Congrats, and best wishes from your friend,

Excerpt: Sitting quiet and grave before the committee,
Holder listened as Sen. Arlen Specter, R-Pa., one of the leading windbags
of our time, held forth on how dreadful Rich
is and how awful the pardon was. The fugitive trader, who still lives in
Switzerland,
had "a reprehensible record," Specter said --
alluding to reports that Rich did business in Iraq and Iran. Specter demanded
to
know how Holder could possibly have recommended
a pardon for such an odious figure...it would have been a refreshing change
from the usual confirmation minuet if instead
of humbly apologizing, Holder had tartly instructed the buffoonish Specter,
his fellow
senators, the press, and the public about the
actual circumstances of the Rich affair...
But Joe - you can't expect a Democrat to list
the facts.
They are incapable of defending themselves -
they don't
have the slightest clue about what to do or say.
I've offered to help them, but they're too afraid
to accept.
He might have started with the fact that continuous
lobbying on Rich's behalf from the highest Israeli leaders and their American
friends
-- among whom Specter no doubt counts himself
-- became even more intense in the days before Clinton left office. He
could have
noted that such pressures coincided with Clinton's
efforts to conclude a peace agreement between the Israelis and Palestinians.
And he could have explained to Specter that Rich's
deals in Iran and Iraq were often related to his other role -- as an asset
of the
Mossad who gathered intelligence and helped to
rescue endangered Jews from those regimes.
Nobody wants to hear the truth about Bill Clinton.
Our whore networks and whore papers and Nazi Radio can make more money
selling lies.
BTW, this year many newspapers, some big and famous ones, are going
out of business.
Surely part of the reason is their whore asses can't be trusted anymore.
Excerpt: At a time of doubt and despair, and on a day
when the stock market plummeted again, Obama's inauguration showed
another side to the nation's current mood --
hopefulness and a sense of confidence that has been invested in a young
and
relatively untested new president.
It was to both uncertainty and optimism that Obama
addressed a sea of faces along the Mall and throughout the country.
He said, "On this day, we gather because we have
chosen hope over fear, unity of purpose over conflict and discord."
History infused every aspect of the day, which
saw the first African American president take office, as well as a generational
shift -- away from the baby boomers who have
led the nation for the past two decades, to a leader not part of the tumult
of
the 1960s -- and the return of Democratic control
of Congress and the White House.
Most clearly, yesterday's activities confirmed
that Obama's presidency will mark a sharp break from that of Fuhrer Bush.
The new president did not hesitate to highlight
their differences. Obama spoke of a change of course in the Iraq war and
of
the "false choice between our safety and our
ideals." Those last words were aimed at Fuhrer Bush's positions on civil
liberties
and harsh interrogation techniques. Most striking,
given Bush's unpopularity abroad, was Obama's declaration to a world
watching intently and eagerly that "we are ready
to lead again."

After he took the oath I got in my car and drove
around Boston blasting "Rocking in the Free World"
by Neil Young thru open car windows and sticking
my sign out the sun roof.
Lots of people honked and waved.
A black man rolled down his window and said,
"You carry that sign proud!"
I did.
