Butt Newt, it didn't happen the way you're telling it.
You act like the Big Three were doing fine, making a profit but
then
Obama the Hun pulled some legal trick to take them over - but
that didn't happen.
They were worse than dead broke, they were billions in debt, and
they came
to Washington DC with their hats in their hands begging for a
handout.
You know that happened - why are you pretending it didn't?
The Pigboy sheep might buy that crap you're selling
but I read the news everyday so I know you are lying.
Though Palin failed to mention that chunks of
her speech were lifted from a 2005 article co-written by Gingrich,
she did acknowledge that, “Recently, Newt Gingrich,
he had written a good article about Reagan…”
While introducing Reagan’s son Michael at a GOP
event in Alaska last Wednesday, Palin said Reagan taught us that,
“courage and persistence are keys to historic
achievement.” In contrast, Gingrich credited Reagan with teaching that,
“Courage and persistence are the keys
to historic achievement.”
Palin also mentioned the Gingrich article a second
time during her address — and though several passages appear
to be lifted directly from Gingrich’s writing,
supporters say Palin sufficiently mangled the former House speaker’s
words and threw in enough “you betchas” to claim
the ideas as her own.
Good point

And America ?
America is a Third-World racial garbage-dump

Prepare to die, Whitey.
Butt Dude, if you're so smart, why are you going to die in prison?
I heard them talking about this on CNN.
They said this was "just terrible because
nobody knows if they got a fair trial because the trial was held in secret and they
weren't allowed to call witnesses."
They said this was "just terrible because the
prisoners there weren't properly fed and they were often subjected to harsh treatment
and harsh conditions."
They said this was "just terrible because sometimes
(they
made this sound extra-creepy)
sometimes prisoners go in there ...and they
never come out."
So how is their situation any worse than what America did under George
the Rapist?
How does America admit to torture and try to take the high road with
North Korea which,
as far as I've been paying attention, has not been recently
accused of torturing their prisoners?

Surviving the Bush bastards is difficult for America and the world.
Although Democrats won the elections last year
mostly because they weren't Republicans, not all Democrats are alike.
Many of them are still in the pockets of the
insurance companies rather than representing the people who elected them.
It is up to us, the People, to keep the pressure
on the Democrats to ensure that health care reform focuses on the People
first
and not what the insurance companies want. We
want a choice between public and private health care plans rather that
give
the insurance companies an exclusive monopoly
for health coverage. We want to be able to choose to get the same plan
that
members of Congress get for themselves.

Excerpt: You must stop blindly supporting these right-wingnuts
and the FOXNews network. The more they get stoked, the more
flames they spew, and the further and further
they move from the independents who actually have the power to determine
the outcomes of elections. You must push back
on these bastards
and call their smear tactics for what they are.
You don't woo independent followers on an agenda
that's pro-hate, anti-earth, pro big business, anti-equality. The rhetoric
of the right-wingnuts is making it more and more
difficult to trust anything that comes out of the GOP. it didn't used to
be
this way, and there's no reason why it cannot
be fixed.
But there is a reason - Rupert Murdoch is making lots of money, and
so is Rush and the other clones..
The American whore news media isn't about delivering news and getting
it right.
It's about market share and ad revenue and you get that (apparently)

Bart, I read your comment about 2 hrs of lefty

My question is, why are you not on Air America

Why aren't they beating a path to your door?

For sure, BCR is more culty than mainstream.
I'm not at all professional and my stories wander around like Jews

Bart, you linked to the quotation by Scott Roeder,
who shot Dr. Tiller and now warns that he knows of similar
events planned around the country. So where are
all the right-wing torture-lovers who insist that Muslim terrorists
should be waterboarded? Isn't Roeder's statement
the ultimate "ticking time-bomb" scenario?
Yet no one on Fox or elsewhere is screaming that
he should be tortured to reveal all the planned murders.
They somehow ignore their own screaming rants.
We must conclude that either the right-wing doesn't
really believe that torture works, or else that
they don't want to go after homegrown terrorists
who shoot doctors. Probably both, actually.
Thanks to Digby of Hullaballoo for coming up with
this argument.
Look for "Homegrown Time Bomb" heading here:

killer mocks the police and promises more death. This third

cat-and-mouse game with Hastings is disturbingly rendered. Most unsettling
is the killer’s “niceness.” Darkly entertaining. - Wes Lukowsky from Booklist

Subject: My Margarita recipe
Bart,
Here's the top margarita recipe. No sour mix allowed!
2 oz tequila (your favorite kind; use only the
good stuff)
1 oz Cointreau (not Triple Sec)
juice of one lime
Splash of OJ for a little xtra sweetness, if
desired
Put it all into a shaker with ice, shake, strain
into margarita glass (salted or not).
It's my belief that one should drink only ONE
of these margaritas, using only the
very best ingredients, and then switch to tequila
straight or on the rocks, as preferred.
(IMO, too much citrus makes for a sour stomach.)
Cheers,
PM
Hey Bart,
After too many bad margaritas at mexican restaurants
we came up with this one at home.
1 shot Puerto Vallerta Anejo or some other reasonably
priced 100% agave tequila (no Cuervo Gold EVER!)
1/2 shot of Citronge orange liquor or TripleSec
Juice of one fresh lime
2 shots of Paul Newman lime aid or Santa Cruz
organic lime aid (No nasty sweet and sour loaded with food coloring
and corn syrup)
Garnish with a lime wedge
Not too sweet and you can taste that nice peppery
tequila snap. Try it and let me know what you think.
yer pal,
Leslie in Ashland
PM and Leslie, with respect, I have a better recipe.
If you have an anejo, adding anything to the taste is a tequila
felony.
You don't age a steak for 30 days them smother it with ketchup.
If you have a reposado, do a half shot and then sensually lick (don't
bite) the lime wedge.
I don't know why they even sell silver tequila
unless hospitals use it to sterilize the instruments.

Excerpt: Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi on Thursday urged
the world to understand what motivates terrorists,
and likened the 1986 U.S. strikes on Libya to
Osama bin Laden's terror attacks. He called for dialogue
with terrorists, saying, "One must talk to the
devil, if it brings about a solution."
Sarcastically, he asked, "What's the difference
between the U.S. airstrikes on our homes and bin Laden's actions?"
If anything, he said, bin Laden is an outlaw,
while the United States is a country that should abide by international
law.
This is one of those dirty little truths that
you can only read online because the mainstream media can't tell the truth
because it upsets their strict control of the
news - but one man's "freedom fighter" is another man's "terrorist."
Anybody old enough to remember Menachem
Begin? Begin was once asked,"Are
you the top terrorist in Israel?" and he replied,
"No, I am the top terrorist in the world."
I guess I've seen footage of that because I can
see Begin's right index finger
stabbing the air as he was making the point.
"Terror" is what you use against a power that
occupies your land.
George Washington was a terrorist in the eyes
of the British - and Benedict Arnold was a hero.
It just depends on which side is doing the writing.
If a foreign country invaded the United States,
wouldn't you and I be planting IEDs in the streets to kill their soldiers?
And I'm not trying to make a case for "poor Osama,"
but IF
it's true that Bush went to the Taliban and said,
"We want to run Unocal's pipeline thru Afghanistan,"
and
the Taliban said, "No, we won't let you," and Bush replied with, "You
can have a carpet of gold or a carpet of bombs - your choice,"
and they
believed his threats, knowing that they couldn't
stop the American military it's logical to assume they would
launch whatever deadly attacks they could in
whatever time they had against America's vulnerable interests.
Is this why Bush/Cheney fought tooth-and-nail
against having a 9-11 Commission?
Is this the 9-11 truth that they couldn't
allow to see the light of day?
IF
so, it would make Bush and Cheney directly responsible for 9-11.
Good thing Lee Hamilton helped the Bush bastards cover their global
crimes a second time.

I heard something really wild on Howard Stern
yesterday.
His guest was Hollywood writer and producer Sam
Simon.
Years ago, Sam was a nobody who wrote and mailed
a script to some TV show and they bought
his script and eventually gave him a job and
he went on to produce Taxi and he wrote for Cheers.
He met and married actress Jennifer Tilly, winner
of last year's WSOP for Women.
Then he was offered a chance to produce a new cartoon show called "The
Simpsons."
He asked his wife for her opinion and she said, "Don't
do it - sounds like a loser to me," but he went against her advice and took the job.
Thirteen episodes into The Simpsons, (Now with 418 episodes and one
of the most
succesful TV shows of all time) they got divorced and she got a piece
of his piece of the show.
Stern asked how much her cut was and Simon said roughly $100 million.
Really? She got $100M after telling him, "Don't do
it - sounds like a loser to me."
I'm almost always on the woman's side when it comes to divorce because
I know how men can be and
we can't allow a situation where the man says, "Do
what I say or I'll cut you off without a dime," and then she's nothing more than his slave, so I'm OK with most settlements
but $100M for giving
bad advice to a struggling young writer seems like a little much.
On the other hand, maybe she got 10% and Sam got a billion dollars so
everybody's happy.
For sure my good friend Phil "The Unabomber" Laak is happy..

Donations/subscriptions to the Tequila Treehouse have fallen to a dangerous
level.
I've been getting a lot of sad mail saying, "Sorry,
I lost my job and every dollar counts," but mostly I'm getting e-mails from PayPal saying "Subscription
Donation Failed."
I understand - I know things are tough thanks to Bush's thievery and
Democratic cowardice.
"We
agreed with every bad decision and helped to cover-up
every crime that the Bush bastards Pulled on America!"
I'm not angry or bitter but I must keep the Treehouse going.
It's possible drastic actions may have to be taken.
Since I'm working for the subscribers and those who send "love" checks,
they are my primary concern.
Possible options include: Putting the main page in the
Members section, letting non-members see the page after a few days.
This isn't something I want to do but it would give
fence-sitters with good jobs a reason to subscribe.
Doing tons more radio,
maybe even to the point of doing a show per day and cutting back to one
page a week.
I've been listening to a lot of Howard Stern and I can
see me doing a show every day but doing a daily page
takes so many hours, the radio show gets pushed aside
and that's going backwards as far as generating income.
Got any other ideas how we can
make this work?
One thing's for sure - you can donate knowing I'm not going anywhere.
If you're a subscriber, you'll get pages and radio shows until that
Peach Truck hits me.
Should we put it to a vote?
Subscribers are well within their rights to demand more radio shows.
Hearing all that Stern makes me jealous because *I* could be doing
that.
I have carpal in both hands (I have to wear a hand brace and an arm
brace) and speaking into a mic
is so much easier than ten hours of typing every weekday so - if
you're a subscriber - tell me what to do.
I think I could do a much better radio show if I did it daily.
Geez, it's so long between shows I almost have to re-learn how to do
it each time.
I certainly can't get any rythym going doing one show a month.
But then, I know most of you read the page at work (I won't tell your
boss) so I'm guessing
the vote will be More Pages vs More Radio - but the page isn't
bringing home the bacon.
Last thing, this is not a super-desperate situation. We have
time to address this.
I just believe in shooting off the flare gun before the ship
sinks :)
The Burger King corporation did not come up with
the idea that those messages should appear.
Most of those Burger Kings are franchised - someone
else owns them and they have a franchise
agreement to sell the Burger King food and to
do things a certain way.
The dick that is in charge of the company that
owns those franchises is thumbing his nose at BK,
which knows better than to eliminate at least
50% of it's customer base making a political stand
- especially an unpopular one.
If I were the Burger King corporation, I would
say, take the messages down, and until you do,
we won't send you any food to sell.
If the Burger King corporation handles this right, it could be
a PR boon for them. If not, they could
be associated with these unpopular Republican views.
Interesting to see how it plays out. It's
always entertaining to see Corporations eating each other.

Excerpt: In 2004, a pall of gloom fell over American liberalism.
Bush was re-elected against all odds: a quagmire in Iraq and a
faltering economy were not sufficient to bury
the Republican Party. In fact, the opposite, as conservative strategists
plotted
for a permanent Republican majority. Tom
DeLay said "If 1994 was the year we stopped thinking like a permanent minority,
2004 is the year we start thinking like a permanent
majority: unified, aggressive, rightfully confident of victory."
Grover Norquist published an article called "The
Democrats are Toast" in Washington Monthly.
The Republican coalition was built on at least
three parts: the theo-conservatives who hated homosexuality and abortion
rights,
the neoconservatives who loved invading oil-ruch
backwards countries and the economic conservatives (who were given over
to a dogmatic laissez faire public policy).
These sections hardened over the Bush years, giving
no quarter on their various grievances and commitments. They became
petulant. American conservatism was remorseless,
and heartless. Bush's approval ratings fell to about 40 per cent
(then to 20).
In 2006, the Democrats took control over the
legislature. A Democrat won DeLay's seat. Two years later, Obama kicked
McCain's ass. DeLay's permanent majority dissolved.
Bob Herbert wrote: "It's not a party; it's a cult....
This is the party of Limbaugh, Palin, Gingrich and Cheney."
The excecated zealousness of the Republican base
prevented the pragmatic Republicans from saving themselves.
I am not surprised that Dr. Tiller's clinic will
not re-open.
But what that suggests is that our own "home
grown" terrorists-like Roeder-are winning.
One doctor, one clinic at a time, access for women's
reproductive choices are being chipped away.
The Supreme court doesn't have to overturn Roe
V Wade.
It is being done on a state and local level.
Roeder is no different than any inmate in Gitmo.
But the government doesn't get as worked up over someone like him.
Younger woman may not find waiting for Roeder
and others like him to end up in hell (if there is such a place)
an acceptable trade off, as options, and control,
and choices, wither away.
I'm not sure what the answer is.
Roeder wins this battle.
