"Obama is in trouble, among other reasons,
because there are thousands of voices out there dumping on the health bill, and we
hear by and large only one voice defending it. Where is the cabinet? The VP? The elected Democrats
who truly believe in it? I do not recall a more one-sided debate..." -- Amitai Etzioni, Link
How many times have I said it?
Democrats will not fight for victory.
If victory knocks on their door they miiiiight answer it,
but they're not willing to fight for victory the
way the GOP does.
Excerpt: Paragraphs three and four are the best. This
is real. Apparently, Sarah Palin is the only person
in America who doesn't find troublesome the recent
violent tenor of political talk by the right,
and their Teabagger surrogates, directed at members
of Congress. So she decided to invoke
more imagery of guns and executing people to
prove her point that only PC people get upset
when you call a congressman a "nigger" or a "faggot,"
or attempt to cut the gas line to their home.
I know, she revels in attention, and poking people
in the eye. But it's serious when the FBI has
to give security to ten-plus members of Congress,
and there are concerns about the safety of
the home of the Senate Parliamentarian. Palin
thinks this is a joke. That is why this woman is
and always will be a blithering idiot, and a
dangerous one at that.
I think she's trying to out-stupid Glenn Beck.
And there's a new hierachy in the whacked out GOP.
Limbaugh is now reduced to the third most outrageous asshole they have.
And where does that leave Hannity, O'Reilly and Michael Savage?
They're all standing around wondering what happened to their thunder.
"Democrats said that they were called the 'N
word,' but no one has any record of it. No witness saw it, it’s not on camera,
it’s not on audio. There’s a $10,000 reward for anyone who can produce a video or an
audio. Don’t you think we would have seen a video or an audio by now if there was something
out there?" -- Michelle Bachmann (R-Batshit)

"I too offer a $10,000 reward for anyone producing
audio or video of Jesus performing a miracle. And there is another $10,000 for anyone
producing tape of Columbus’ landing in the New World. If one cannot produce a tape of an
event, then it could not possibly have happened." -- Mario Piperni, Link
For 8 years, the Republicans waved their flags
and passed laws with names like the "Patriot Act".
Now that they are no longer in power Republicans
are openly wishing for the president to fail.
Republicans are talking about states seceding
from the country. Where is all that patriotic talk now?
Like fiscal responsibility, the Republicans have
now abandoned patriotism.
The reason we are in this crisis is because the
Republicans went on a drunken spending binge.
Now that the party is over the Republicans are
running out of the bar without paying their tab.
Republicans need to take responsibility instead
of heckling Obama while he cleans up their mess.
Excerpt: A potentially damaging scandal has erupted that
implicates Sean Hannity and Oliver North in the worst
kind of charitable fraud. According to complaints
filed with the FTC and the IRS, the two right-wing icons
have exploited American veterans for personal
and partisan gain. The actions filed by CREW accuse Hannity
and North of misusing millions of dollars collected
by the Freedom Alliance, a charity they promote and control.
Similar accusations were aired recently by right-wing
blogger Debbie Schlussel, who complained that the
"Freedom Concerts" sponsored by the Freedom Alliance
and headlined by Hannity were not donating all proceeds
-- estimated at more than $10 million -- to scholarships
for the children of wounded and killed service members,
as advertised. But now CREW, which had been investigating
the same allegations independently before Schlussel
posted her warning, has completed its own probe
and filed legal actions before the two federal agencies.
The CREW complaint to the FTC charges that "Hannity
and Freedom Concerts have engaged in illegal and
deceptive marketing practices by suggesting that
all money generated by ticket sales for the Freedom Concerts
goes to scholarships for children of killed and
wounded service members." Duane Ward, the promoter who heads
Premiere Marketing, which produces the concerts,
also runs Premiere Speakers Bureau -- which exclusively
represents Hannity and North. "After staging
the concerts, Premiere donates an unknown portion of the concert
proceeds to the Freedom Alliance," according
to CREW.

"There are probably many decent teabaggers
that have some legitimate concerns about their economic security...But this
is a divisive protest movement that plays too much to people’s fears and hatred. And it’s
got limited appeal. I think that after the 2010 elections, you’re going to see this party or the
Tea Party movement dissipate to a great degree. … It has limited influence. It really
hasn’t shown itself to be a strong, powerful force, even within the Republican Party. However,
it is pushing Republicans too far to the right." -- Scotty the Underbear, Bush's

"There's something ugly in the air...For the

Did David P. Goldman just say "No niggers
in the White House?" I think he did.
What about Obama, besides his skin color, makes him a barbarian
who's unqualified to be president?
And how do you blame the Pope's crimes on Obama? or Madonna?
If I had a son, I'd let Madonna babysit him before I'd let The
Rat do it.

Excerpt: Dragged deeper than ever into the clerical sex
abuse scandal, the Vatican is launching a legal defense
that the church hopes will shield the guilty
pope from a lawsuit in Kentucky seeking to have him deposed.
Court documents obtained by The Whore AP show
that Vatican lawyers plan to argue that the pope has
immunity as head of state, that
American bishops who oversaw abusive priests weren't employees
of the Vatican,
and that a 1962 document is not
the "smoking gun" that provides proof of a cover-up.
That sounds a lot like Bart Simpson.
"I didn't
do it - nobody saw me do it - you can't prove a thing."
The Holy See is trying to fend off the first U.S.
case to reach the stage of determining whether victims actually
have a claim against the Vatican itself for negligence
for allegedly failing to alert police or the public about
Roman Catholic priests who molested children.
The case was filed in 2004 in Kentucky by three
men who claim they were abused by priests and claim
negligence by the Vatican. Their attorney, William
McMurry, is seeking class-action status for the case,
saying there are thousands of victims across
the country.
This guilty Pope can't go under oath because he
might mess up and let something slip.
You'd think God's personal stand-in wouldn't
have a problem with telling the truth under oath.
Basically, Benny is pleading the Fifth - he refuses
to incriminate himself.
If there was a God, he'd be so ashamed of Benny
the Rat.
Although you are probably meaning the American
automotive industry when you refer to Detroit,
the failure of the City of Detroit was based
on white flight from the city and a form of economic racism
more extreme than anything you would ever see
in the "segregated" south.
When the white people fled the city in the early
70s, they took their money, businesses and jobs with them.
They didn't want to live in Detroit if it had
a black mayor (Coleman Young). Sound familiar?
Susanne M,
"It was the church’s conservative instincts
- the insistence on institutional loyalty, obedience and the absolute authority of clerics -
that allowed the abuse to spread unpunished. What’s more, it was a conservative hierarchy’s bunker mentality
that prevented the Vatican from reckoning with the scandal. In 2002, a prominent cardinal told
a Spanish audience that "I am personally convinced that the constant presence in the press of the sins of
Catholic priests, especially in the United States, is a planned campaign ...to discredit the church." That cardinal
was Joseph Ratzinger, now Benny the Rat." -- Ross Douthat,
Link
In 2002 there was talk of having priests sign a Zero Tolerance
Pledge, but they decided not to.
I mean, why become a priest if raping children isn't part
of the deal?
"Benny the Rat struck back in his Palm Sunday
sermon, vowing not to be intimidated by "petty gossip." But just the fact that the Pope has
to go on the offensive in a fight for his own survival shows you how broken his pontificate has become.
The cumulative effect of the scandals, across countries and continents, have sapped the pontiff’s ability to
lead and blown a hole (no pun intended)
in any effort by the Church to raise morality in any context." -- Ross Douthat,
Link
So who will step down first?
Benny the Rat for covering up thousands of rapes?
Michael Steele for spending thousands on lesbo-bondage
sex?
Sean Hannity for stealing thousands from soldier's families?
Excerpt: Montana Rep. Denny Rehberg wrote that the people
don’t want health care reform. He said reform is
being jammed down our throats by government.
That’s a pretty story – and it’s one the Republicans
love to tell. It features the government as a
monster standing ready to devour the weakest among us.
But it’s a false story, a figment, mist. Because
in the real story of health care in America, it’s the
unregulated private system that’s eating us alive.
I do a lot of work in Honduras with Missoula Medical
Aid. I help coordinate teams of doctors and
nurses who work in rural communities and regional
hospitals. Whenever I hear Republicans talk about
the need to shrink government – or to make it
disappear altogether – I want to take those people by the
hand and show them Honduras. I want to show them
a country that has a small, weak government –
a Republican utopia, perhaps. It’s a country
where free markets unchallenged by government have
polluted the water and grown giant slums filled
with desperate people who will work for cheap.
It’s a country where a tiny government has kept
the roads a horror, the schools inadequate,
the police unreliable, and access to health care
often a vaporous dream.
Unless you are rich, of course.
I remember when Clinton ran in 1992. The GOP kept
saying,
"Arkansas is ranked 50th in schools, 49th
in health care and 50th in infrastructure."
Arkansas also had some of the lowest taxes in
America, which is why it's so backwards.
They even call it "The Natural State" because
it's so under-developed.

Excerpt: NYV Mayor Michael Bloomberg is going hard after
Obama, accusing him of dragging his feet on gun control.
In a letter sent earlier this month from his
coalition -- Mayors Against Illegal Guns -- Bloomberg comes intriguingly
close to assigning blame for ongoing gun violence
to the Obama administration.
Specifically, they cite the need for better information-sharing
methods for law enforcement units and
"proactive enforcement and undercover operations"
by the ATF.
"Had these recommendations been implemented,"
Bloomberg wrote. "ATF would have undertaken proactive
enforcement and undercover operations to identify
problematic gun shows and the sellers who break the law at those shows."
Obama has kept his distance from Second amendment
issues -- undoubtedly wary of how politically divisive it can be.
Hey, if Obama ever wants to leave the White House early, all he needs
to do is mention gun control.
The GOP will impeach him and the spaghetti-spined Democrats will help.
Excerpt: Carrie Prejean is going to hell. Or rather the
former Miss California America may be if she’s doesn’t pay her bills.
Prejean owes more than $64,000 to a Christian
based public relations firm, according to TMZ.com. The beauty queen’s
contract was terminated after pageant organizers
learned she had posed nude and made a sex tape. Ironically,
during the Miss American 2009 pageant, she expressed
her views against gay marriage based on her Christian upbringing.
Opposed to gay marriage or not, it’s hard to take
her seriously. Basing your platform Christian beliefs and then getting
all
Jenna Jameson on us is the ultimate PR no, no.
It’s like she’s Tiger Woods preaching abstinence; it doesn’t work.
Prejean, just practice what you preach. And pay
your bills.
What would happen if her sex tape fell into the
hands of the same Okie blogger who made sure
those awful
Dr Laura spread-eagle pictures were distributed around the world?
She's telling people she made the tapes (there are8)
when she was 17 so people are afraid to post it online.
But the guy she sent the tapes to told TMZ she was 20 at the time AND
it looks like she's already had her
breast-implant surgery in this crude, solo sex tape.
Weirder still, she had a cameraman or woman present.
Carrie, why didn't you use a tripod and do this alone?

While you dress your Cardinals and Pope in fine
linens and moral rectitude, the molested cover themselves
in revulsion and self-loathing believing they
did something to cause this crime. While you parade about with
burning incense and wafers of contrition the
raped and battered wander in doubt and confusion as to how
God let this happen. While you sprinkle the Water
of Oblivion and chant sacred liturgies the true victims
suffer the holy trinity of abuse, alienation
and abandonment...
Should the deaf children thank God that they were
not able to hear their rapist's grunts and gasps of pleasure
at defilement? Should the molested thank God
that they eventually became old enough to no longer be attractive
to priests? Or should they have prayed for faster
transfers? Should the abused take comfort in the knowledge
that it was only a few "bad apples" in the Church
and they were just "unfortunate" to be among the chosen prey?
What you defend is not the Church but the silence
of power, the sin of willful ignorance and the sin of omission
by those who turned a blind eye to the torture
and horror at the hands of God's devoted servants. What you
defend is the murder of the soul.
Sure, people are talking about this now - but they talked about it in
2002, also.
Time goes by, anger lessens and the sick bastards will continue to
rape kids.
"Once on the ground, FEC filings suggest, Steele
travels in style. A February RNC trip to California, for example, included a $9,099 stop
at the Beverly Hills Hotel, $6,596 dropped at the Four Seasons, and $1,946.25] at Voyeur, a bondage
club featuring topless dancers imitating lesbian sex." -- Jason Linkins, Link
Excerpt: One thing is very clear in the controversy now
swamping Michael Tom Steele:
The RNC very much wants to stop talking about
it.
The scandal broke Monday, when conservative Web
site The Daily Caller reviewed recent RNC filings
with and discovered that the RNC had spent $1,946
on a Hollywood sex club called Voyeur. The February
expenditure documents also showed that the committee
sprang for $17,000 in chartered plane fees and
$12,000 in limousine expenses in February — and
according to The Daily Caller, Steele had suggested
that the committee bankroll a private jet for
him.
On Tuesday, the RNC announced that it had fired
the staffer who’d put in the Voyeur expense — which was
a reimbursement to a California donor named Erik
Brown — and that Brown was returning the Voyeur-related
money to the RNC so that, in financial terms
at least, it would be as though the whole thing had never happened
