...and I seem to recall that at one time Bartcop was banned from DU.
There are legitimate differences of opinion among Democrats.
A lot of Democrats like me think that Obama doesn't fight enough and that
our party does not fight enough. I'm one of them. There are a lot on this site.
I supported Hillary until Obama had the nomination locked up, then I supported Obama.
I will support one of his primary opponents in 2012 and vote for the nominee,
which will probably be Obama. That is the way democracy works.
If the DU is not subject to being criticized, even wrongly, then we might as well
give up on democracy. If we don't have the right to hold erroneous opinions,
only official opinions will be allowed.
Oh, and I regularly donate to Bartcop. As in every damn month.

Gene Lyons, Bill Clinton....I was just listening to Dennis Kucinich on MSNBC.
He voted for the tax compromise, and said he thought Obama did the best he thought he could.
Like you, I wish Obama would fight like we want him to.
Like you, I'd sock it to the rich until their ears bled.
But if he had gone to the mat on the tax cut extension, and couldn't get a deal done,
and the Republicans had come back next year and got tax cuts for the middle class,
Obama would have been toast. And millions would have lost their unemployment checks.
I don't always like what he's doing, but he KNOWS what he's doing.
And, basically, he's on our side. People who say they won't vote for him again are dumb as dog shit.

If nothing else, he could've let all the tax breaks expire. Then the first week of January,
propose a tax break for the middle class and dare the sons of bitches to block it.
It would be crystal clear who was on the side of the middle class where the votes are.
Our guy just doesn't know how to gamble, or negotiate, or stand his ground.
Once a kid surrenders his lunch money to the bully,
the bully knows he's got his lunch money for the whole year.

The reason beer and cigarette use is down among teens is because it is legal and regulated.
As a responsible beer drinking adult, I would never sell beer to a minor.
The reason pot use is up is BECAUSE it is illegal.
If I was engaged in an illegal enterprise, I wouldn't care who I sold my wares to.
However, if I was a legally licensed purveyor of legalized marijuana, I would never sell it to kids
because I'd lose my ability to make a living. It's so simple only a politician couldn't see it.
