‘Heat burst’ surprises Wichita

KSN Channel 3's meteorologist JD Rudd explained the causes of the rare nighttime temperature spike,
known as a "heat burst." First, winds gusted up to 69 miles per hour at around 11 p.m. on Wednesday,
when temperatures were still in the 80s. At 12:22 a.m., temperatures were at 85 degrees in the region.
Less than 20 minutes later, the temperature spiked to 102 degrees, and wind gusts were 50 miles per hour.
By 3:00 a.m., the temperatures had again fallen and the winds stopped.
Can you imagine walking into a bar around midnight and it's 80 degrees.
You drink one beer, then go outside to find out that, in the dark,
it suddenly got 20 degrees hotter in twenty minutes?
Good thing that didn't happen the day of the "rapture." :)

Investigators have evidence Gadaffy ordered mass rapes and bought containers of sex drugs
to encourage troops to attack women, the chief ICC prosecutor said.
Luis Moreno-Ocampo said he may ask for a new charge of mass rape to be made against Gadaffy.

resigned en masse today, citing strategic differences.
The staff defections are the latest major blow to Gingrich's presidential aspirations. Just days after
he launched his 2012 bid, the former speaker alienated many Republicans by criticizing a Medicare
proposal floated by Rep. Paul Ryan. That controversy—combined with embarrassing reports about
a pricey credit line Gingrich once held with Tiffany's—prompted the bastard's poll numbers to sink.
Last week, Gingrich was off the radar, after he and his wife decided to take a previously unannounced
cruise to Greece. The trip reportedly irked the staff because of its lousy timing, according to Tyler.
Gingrich returned to the campaign trail yesterday, adding a hastily arranged campaign stop in New Hampshire.
One theory is that they left to help Rick Perry (R-Secede) get in.

As we reported in January, Thomas appears to have "knowingly and willfully" filed falsified
Financial Disclosure Forms which withheld disclosure of nearly $700,000 his wife received
from the rightwing Heritage Foundation for the better part of the last 20 years. Only once it
was pointed out publicly this year did Thomas bother to file "self-initiated amendments" to
the forms he had signed just above the legal warning in bold and all caps which reads:
"NOTE: ANY INDIVIDUAL WHO KNOWINGLY AND WILLFULLY FALSIFIES
OR FAILS TO FILE THIS REPORT MAY BE SUBJECT TO CIVIL AND CRIMINAL
SANCTIONS (5 U.S.C. app. § 104)"
While there has been little indication that law enforcement is actually investigating the crimes
of the U.S. Supreme Court Justice (which, as we pointed out in January, are punishable by up
to $50,000 and/or 1 year in jail for each instance of falsification), last Friday when Thomas'
Financial Disclosure Form for 2010 [PDF] was released, the matter appears to have gotten
shadier still, leading at least one government watchdog organization to describe what Thomas
and his wife Virginia "Ginni" Thomas may be been doing as "Judicial Insider Trading."
Funny, they're going after John Edwards with very questionable charges.
I say that because nobody in history has ever been charged with the "crimes"
they've charged Edwards with - but Slappy the Wonder judge gets a pass?
Let me guess: "We need to look forward" when it comes to the crimes of the GOP.
How come we can't "look forward" on the poker players and pot smokers?
