Quotes
"Imagine your house is burning. You call the fire department but your call isn't answered because every fire fighter in town is debating whether there will be enough water to fight fires over the next ten years, even though water is plentiful right now. One faction won't even allow the fire trucks out of the garage unless everyone agrees to cut water use. An agency that rates fire departments has just issued a downgrade, causing everyone to hoard water. While all this squabbling continues, your house burns to the ground and the fire has now spread to your neighbors' homes. But because everyone is preoccupied with the wrong question (the long-term water supply) and the wrong solution (saving water now), there's no response. In the end, the town comes up with a plan for the water supply over the next decade, but it's irrelevant because the whole town has been turned to ashes." -- Robert Reich, making some point about the latest economic crash, Link Send e-mail to Bart The Lie of Bipartisanship by Elliot Blufer elliottblufer.com Obama wants to describe himself as bi-partisan. He's going out of his way to adopt the other party's language and to appease their base. He's trying to show that he can go across party lines in order to impress Independants. He's living a lie. All the President is doing is moving the political center far to the right of where it should be. Obama was elected because people believed that he could create change, and that he would be forceful in doing so. Perhaps people also thought that he'd reach across the aisle when many wouldn't, but that was secondary. First was the change. That change isn't happening. Change isn't possible when you're trying to appease the other side to the extent that Obama is. This is the American political system, there is no such thing as a soft bargain! In order to get what you want, you need to push something more extreme than you could ever imagine to get, and hope to end up close to your actual position. Obama is setting his base position square in the middle, allowing the GOP to call all of the shots. And, he has appeased the GOP to such an extent that at this point, they don't even believe that they need compromise! They simply believe that they can get exactly what they want. Sadly, this is President Obama's fault. Sadly, I don't see the president changing. If I was asked to describe Obama in two words, I might pick "consistent" and "determined." The bad news is he's determined to consistently give the enemy whatever they want. Send e-mail to Bart Shopping online?

But you just agreed to cut spending!!!!!!!!! Link Pummeled by ghastly economic news, Obama called Monday for more spending and extended tax cuts to help stimulate the economy — but these also could deepen the deficit problems that helped the federal government earn its first-ever debt downgrade last week. The president made the proposals as world stock market indexes were tumbling, and his remarks seemed designed to help the White House regain its political footing by resetting the congressional agenda next month. Click Here for More Info Subject: the Rich get another tax cut With the stock market dropping 2000 points in the last 2 weeks, the super rich will get another tax cut. The more money they lose in the stock market the less capital gains taxes they will be paying. The Chamber of Commerce bankrolled the Republicans in the last election. I hope they are happy with the results. Marc Perkel Send e-mail to Bart Child rapist Jeffs gets life in prison They catch one while thousands are still raping, protected from the law by those GOP perverts Link Remember how they defended David Koresh? "He's just an armed tax-resistor." No, he was a child rapist who talked many parents into letting him screw their daughters - and the GOP stood by him. Right now, in Texas, Utah, Arizona and Idaho, thousands of pre-teens are being raped daily - but we don't want to interfere with their "religion." Send e-mail to Bart Subject: downgrade Bart, I wonder how much money the insiders at Standard and Poor's made by selling stuff short knowing that on Monday the Market would fall 600 points. I bet they made a bundle. To bad we don't have anyone to look into that. Wolf We know Eric Cantor was betting on America to fail. By holding America hostage - he made a bundle. BTW, yesterday I wrote: > Just now, Obama made another totally useless speech. > As the markets are crashing, he's at the podium saying, > "It's important that both sides work together," which is about > as effective as saying "Stop, thief" when someone steals your wallet. NBC and CNBC said the Dow was down 200 points when Obama started his totally useless Pollyanna speech - then it dropped another 400 points. I can't find it, but recently I wrote that the polls showed that about half the voters would blame the GOP if the government shut down and only 20-something percent would blame Obama. With those facts in mind, I suggested that if Obama would just shut up and do and say nothing, there'd be no way to lose this fight. If he took a week-long nap and went into complete hibernation, the country would default and the Teabagging bastards would be blamed for bankrupting America Did Obama listen to me? No, nobody cares what the Tequila Okie says. Instead of doing nothing, Obama decided caving in would be a better strategery, which makes him look even weaker and once again, the GOP affirmed that all you have to do is wait him out because sooner or later, Obama's going to cave and give the GOP whatever they want.. I hope Obama doesn't end up being considered the second-worst president ever. So now, we have the same effect as a government shut-down (the 650 point Dow drop) but instead of the GOP getting the blame, they're all saying, "Both sides are to blame." Had Obama stood his ground, he could've said, "GOP intransigence caused this catastrophe," but he couldn't bear doing that to his good friends, The Bitch and The Boner, so the world agrees that BOTH parties were at fault and Obama further damages his already-damaged presidency. Nobody cares what the Tequila Okie says. Update: 2:30 central CNN says new poll shows the GOP lost 9 points in the last 3 weeks, down to 33 percent. Democrats gained two points, up to 47(?) making an eleven point sweep. Send e-mail to Bart Subject: re: Dallas Cowboys Hi Bart, Actually, in addition to enjoying watching Dallas lose, I also really enjoy watching various (usually southern) college teams such as Alabama, Louisiana, Texass, or Florida also lose. Nebraska in angst also makes my day. Constructed, as they have been, by the twerps n' liars of ESPN and other 'experts' I'm so tired of teams such as these presented as everything good in America; examples of mom, apple pie, and god's will. That they function mostly as a semi-professional football system that sops up an inordinate amount of TV money and guarantees a stable bowl season advertising platform for corporate America is more than annoying. That the Blue-States essentially support another Red-State rip-off shouldn't be a surprise---I guess. Cheers, Jay I would've been OK with you adding Oklahoma to that list. There are only three things to love about Oklahoma: Our football team, the tequila prices and Bixby sweet corn. Send e-mail to Bart Sarah Palin Nude!!! I'm just curious. thanks tally (setting a trap) If I could wave a magic wand, I'd like to see Obama primaried. But Hillary is the only one who could pull that off and I don't think she's up for another gang-style beatdown from the Republicans/lying whore media/Democrats. Some day, Democrats will wake up and realize that FIRST you need the will to fight. Gore, Kerry, Obama - there's not a fighter amongst them. Look around - see what their cowardice has done to our country. My wishes are not going to come true. I believe Obama will continue his policy of pre-emptive surrender for the next 18 or 66 months. What will America look like in 2016? Send e-mail to Bart Obama: 'Show some guts' by Michael Moore washwhoretimes.com Michael Moore called on Obama to respond to the U.S. credit downgrade by arresting the leaders of the credit-ratings agencies. On Twitter, Moore blamed the 2008 economic collapse on Standard & Poor’s — apparently because it and other credit-ratings crooks did not downgrade mortgage-based bonds, which caused the housing bubble and let it poison the economy. “Obama, show some guts & arrest the CEO of Standard & Poors. These criminals brought down the economy in 2008 & now they will do it again,” Moore wrote. Mike, Obama's into "looking forward" remember? He's only interested in prosecuting pot smokers and poker players. Moore went on to note that the “owners of S&P are old Bush family friends,” continuing a theme he has developed through several films about capitalism as essentially a crony system for the rich and Wall Street, especially the Bush family. Send e-mail to Bart Subject: Hillary Vs. Obama Dear Bart; I remember when everyone gave you sh*t because you dared question Obama’s cohones vs. Hillary’s. Everyone treated you badly; you were called a racist, and they all believed in their B.O. Unicorn who would create bipartisan rainbows. Well lookie where we are now.....Buyers Remorse does not begin to describe my feelings for Black Bush! What is really the difference between him and the Worst President Ever? I don’t see it anymore. Time to wake up and PRIMARY him with “None of the Above” since no Dem has the balls to fight for us. Thanks for the forum and please keep swinging the Hammer! Mike in PDX Send e-mail to Bart Mumblings about Hillary... Can she be drafted into running? Link At a New York political event last week, Republicans and Democrats were bemoaning Obama’s handling of the debt-ceiling crisis when someone said, “Hillary would have been a better president.” “Every single person nodded, including the Republicans,” reported one observer. At a luncheon, a 64-year-old African-American was complaining about Obama’s ineffectiveness in dealing with the hostility of Republicans when an 80-year-old lawyer chimed in about Obama's unwillingness to stand up to his opponents. “I want to see blood on the floor,” she said grimly. Said a 61-year-old woman. “He never understood about the ‘vast right-wing conspiracy,’” she said. Looking as if she were about to cry, an 83-year-old Obama supporter shook her head. “I’m so disappointed in him,” she said. “It’s true: Hillary is tougher.” I say no way Hillary gets involved. Her approval rating is currently very high and nobody is taking shots at her. She's respected around the globe and she can coast her way into retirement. Send e-mail to Bart Subject: Obama isn't "surrendering" Bartcop, Are you & I about the only people in the world who wondered why the media gave Obama a pass during the primary? Why do I feel like NO ONE ANYWHERE f-king addresses this? No I'm not trying to start a fight. It's a legitimate question! CY I think our whore media just wanted a new story to tell.
