"NATO is not a benevolent organization. NATO is not about the North Atlantic and it's not about our collective defense. NATO is a cost-sharing organization that finances aggressive military action." -- Dennis Kucinich, not going away quietly, Link Send e-mail to Bart Subject: Opening a new page Bart, just a reminder, you can right click with the mouse and open in a new tab or window to keep Bart Cop where it is Kevin D. Debbie Send e-mail to Bart Cory Booker's Big Mistake Did he forget whoch side he was on? Link For the second day, Newark Mayor Cory Booker scrambled to clarify his comments criticizing Obama's assault on Mitt Romney's job creation record at Bain Capital after he sent Team Obama into full blown damage-control while the GOP continued to take full advantage of the New Jersey mayor's blunder on "Meet the Whore." Booker called Obama's attack "nauseating" political discourse with which Booker has become "very uncomfortable," on CBS' "Meet the Press" on Sunday. Excuse me, but "Meet the Whore" is on NBC, not CBS. I'm sure because NBC is where Karl Rove's dancing partner works. Gosh, when Greg and Karl dance together, it's pure magic. The GOP quickly responded by sending out an email today to supporters reading, "Do you know what Obama does with people who stand up for job creators? He silences them. That's right. By Sunday evening the Obama campaign had pressured Booker into taking back his support of the free market … Don't let the White House silence free enterprise! If you agree, then please sign our petition: I STAND WITH CORY BOOKER" And if you missed the email, the landing page for www.GOP.com currently reads: 'I stand with Cory.'" Why are Democrats so suicidal? Obama can still win this race, but not if he has to fight the Democrats, too. Why is it so hard for some politicians to remember which side they're on? Rutgers Sex Spy Gets 30 Days Link A former Rutgers student was sentenced to 30 days in prison for bias crimes after he spied on his roommate's gay encounter in a case that drew national attention to bullying. Actually, he broadcast his roommate having sex - causing him to kill himself. That's a light-year away from "spied on his roommate." Dharun Ravi, 20, had faced a maximum of 10 years behind bars for his conviction for using a webcam to invade the privacy of his roommate, Tyler Clementi, and another man in their college dorm room. Clementi, 18, committed suicide in September 2010, days after learning Ravi watched him through the computer-mounted camera and used social media to encourage others to do so. Ravi was not charged with causing Clementi's death because there's very little justice in America for queers.. Judge Glenn Berman sentenced him to 30 days in prison, followed by three years probation, 300 hours of community service as well as counseling about cyberbullying and alternative lifestyles. He ordered Ravi to pay $10,000 for a community-based organization that assists victims of bias crimes and to pay $1,900 in penalties. Oh, that'll teach him not to drive gay people to suicide. "I heard this jury say 'guilty' 288 times. Twenty-four questions, 12 jurors. I haven't heard you apologize once," Berman told Ravi. But you gave him 30 days for being unremorseful? It would figure then, that John Edwards will get 30 years for paying blackmail in a private case where nobody died. Funny, in Edwards's case, the blackmailer got immunity and the couple that stole $1M from Edwards got immunity, too. Gee, it's almost like the whole case was just an excuse to get John Edwards. Send e-mail to Bart Subject: Obama spending binge never happened Bart, check this link. Erica Erica, I'm not sure that will help much. The 'baggers aren't into facts and the Democrats aren't into educating the ignorant. The 'baggers think "Obama bought a Cadillac for every lazy nigger in America" and Democrats just aren't into listing the facts. Send e-mail to Bart ...and Catholic Bishops are very upset. 'Vati-leaks' outs Benny the Rat The Rat's secrets exposed in stolen letters Link The journalist who set off the "VatiLeaks" controversy by releasing private Benny-the-Rat letters has published a large collection of leaked documents in a new book called "Your Holiness." In a statement May 19, Father Lombardi, Vatican spokesman, called the publication of the letters for commercial gain a "criminal act" and said the Vatican would take legal action. The spokesman said the publication of the letters violates the right to privacy and the "freedom of correspondence" of The Rat, the letter writers and some of the pope's closest collaborators. The letters nclude accusations of corruption and financial mismanagement in the Vatican, and focus heavily on internal Italian church matters or Vatican-Italian relations, Cardinal Bertone, Vatican secretary of state, is particularly presented in an unfavorable light. In late April, Pope Benedict appointed three retired cardinals to a commission to investigate the leaking of the letters. Well sure, that's what Jesus would've done - tracked down his trespassers and have them punished. No wait, isn't there some line about "...and forgive those who trespass against us?" I guess that's just for the "little" Catholics. And how many secrets does a Pope need to keep? What is he doing that's so awful, the truth cannot be told? He's God's personal, hand-picked rep here on Earth and he's got a lot of secrets that the "little Catholics" can never know about? Poor Benny-the-Rat - if the truth gets out he's toast. "Bart, is this really necessary? Why are you always picking on The Church, Bart? And why do you only have adult females in your Hottie pages? Don't you have any Justin Beiber pics from, say, 2004? Do you have any NKOTB pics with their shirts off?" Send e-mail to Bart The Audacity of WTF? by Marty Kaplan Link Billionaires are buying civic mindshare. A web of plutocrats, guided by a cadre of Karl Roves, is backing their ideal front man, Mitt Romney. Thanks to Frank Luntz, their class is known as the job creators, rather than, say, the Robber Barons, and pointing this out is known as class warfare. Thanks to the Supreme Court's punting on disclosure, these billionaires are able to hack our elections secretly. Surely there are other Joe Rickettses out there, test-driving messaging at least as reptilian as his Son of Willie Horton strategy; we just don't know their names. It took a fluke -- a leak to the New York Times -- to let us in on this one, but there are other rocks we won't be lucky enough to see under. Now that the law against anonymous last-minute lying has been lifted, the 30 days before Nov. 6 is going to be all Orwell, all the time I suppose both sides are waiting to see how this election turns out before they declare how "outraged" they are that the super-rich can now buy our elections. It's my guess Obama's going to win - so are the Democrats "outraged" at the new rules? Send e-mail to Bart Subject: my brush with greatness Link Send e-mail to Bart Marty

Sarah Palin Nude Link Nobody wants FB stock? Stock sinks on second day of trading Link Facebook is such a big, vast thing that it can be hard to describe what it’s all about. It’s a place where 900 million users post photos of their kids. It’s a place where Middle East youth congregate to organize against their governments. It was the subject of a 2010 movie that really deserved to win Best Picture except Academy Award voters were seduced by (yet another) British costume drama. But on Wall Street, there’s a simpler description for Facebook: Broken IPO. Whatever bloom was left on the social network’s stock after Friday’s glitch-filled initial public offering emphatically fell off on Monday, as Facebook’s shares sank 11%, or $4.20, to close at $34.03. Whenever a newly public stock falls quickly below its offering price, it’s a busted IPO. I don't know Bush about stocks, but they very blantantly allowed the super-rich to get in first for cheap. Then, after they covered their Ivy-League asses, the little people were allowed in and it sunk. Send e-mail to Bart Check out the news and toons at

Link Send e-mail to Bart Obama: Bain is THE issue Don't let "Chainsaw Romney" off the hook Link Seizing on his campaign’s new line of attack against Willard’s record as a venture capitalist, Obama said Monday that private equity firms sometimes harm communities. “Their priority is to maximize profits,” Obama said at a NATO summit. “That’s not always going to be good for communities or businesses. When you’re president … your job is not simply to maximize profits.” Someone said President Romney would sell off states like Michigan because they weren't bringing enough to America's bottom line. In business, if it's not making enough money - you kill it. We don't need Romney changing America into the 46 United States. Send e-mail to Bart Today's Mystery Car

Obama's Mess: Medical pot in Montana "I might get 20 years in prison because Obama flip-flopped on marijuana policy." Link Tom Daubert, 59, faces a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison, a $500,000 fine for following Montana's pot laws to the letter. He did NOT count on Obama waging a jihad against his legal business that was helping sick people. So, what's the lesson here - don't follow the law? Maybe second-term Obama will help overturn the craziness of first-term Obama. Send e-mail to Bart Business slow?
