Self-styled “independent fact-checkers” at the Annenberg Center and the neocon-dominated
Washington Post have positioned themselves as ardent defenders of Mitt Romney’s claims that
his Bain Capital tenure ended in 1999 despite questions raised by contradictory information
submitted by Romney himself.
Indeed, the behavior of these “fact-checkers” is rapidly becoming the journalism scandal of
Campaign 2012 as the likes of Brooks Jackson at Annenberg’s FactCheck.org and the Post’s
Glenn Kessler act more as querulous lawyers protecting Romney than as journalists seeking
the actual facts surrounding Romney’s curious business narrative.
Much as the Post’s Ceci Connolly and the New York Times’ Katharine Seeyle engaged in
aggressive – and dishonest – journalism to portray Vice President Al Gore as a serial liar
during Campaign 2000, Jackson and Kessler are performing a similar role in portraying
Obama and his campaign officials as liars now.
This keeps happening because the Democrats keep allowing it.
When the New York Whore Times was helping Bush & Cheney sell their fake war,
did the Democrats ever call out the Times out for their lies?
Hell, no.
To this day, the Rethugs call their friends at the Whore Times, "Left-wingers"
Remember, Cheney used to say, "Even the New York Times agrees with me,"
after giving Steno Jude lies to print that Cheney could point to as "proof."
When Tim Russert used the status of Meet the Press to help Bush & Cheney sell their lies,
did the Democrats ever call out Russet and NBC for helping the crooks sell their fake war?
Remember, Cheney used to say, "Even Tim Russert, the Pit Bull of Journalism,
had no comeback when I laid out our proof for the WMDs," after giving Russert
"exclusive access" so Cheney could sell his lies that killed over 5,000 of our military's finest.
Russert - he was only good for one thing:
And isn't it disgusting the way NBC and CNN broke their legs running to hire young Luke Russert,
as if those superior Russert genes is all one need to reach the heights of journalistic integrity.
Christ, that makes me sick and the Democrats sit their with that blank look on their faces,
helpless in trying to figure out a way to counter the GOP's lies.

Soon-to-be-dead Bashar al-Assad will use chemical weapons against opposition forces
and may have already deployed them, says Nawaf Fares, the first Syrian ambassador to defect.
Fares, the most prominent politician to defect since the uprising against Assad began, says Assad's
days were numbered but warned Assag would be prepared "to eradicate the entire Syrian people"
to remain in power.
When asked whether that would mean the use of chemical weapons, Fares said: "I am convinced that
if Bashar al-Assad's regime is further cornered by the people -- he would use such weapons."
Of course he's going to use any and all weapons in his futile attempt to stop the unstoppable.
It's what insane cornered dictators do, for Christ's sake.
These crazy dictators can't figure out that they can live the rest of their lives as billionaires,
but no, they'd rather kill their own people and then get raped by a stick and have their dead ass
lying in the street when the painful end comes.

Pink Panty Sheriff on Trial

Five years after he started "crime suppression" sweeps that terrorized Latino neighborhoods,
Sheriff Joe Arpaio is finally having to explain himself. Not to TV crews in Phoenix or to
fawning hosts on Fox News, but before a federal judge.
A class-action civil-rights lawsuit, is scheduled to begin Thursday in Federal District Court in Phoenix.
The plaintiffs accuse the Pink Panty sheriff of waging an all-out, unlawful campaign of discrimination
and harassment against Latinos and those who look like them.
They say the sheriff and his deputies made illegal stops, searches and arrests, staged wrongful neighborhood and
workplace raids, and provoked widespread fear among citizens, legal residents and undocumented immigrants alike.
One plaintiff, Manuel Melendres, is a Mexican citizen who had a valid visa when Sheriff Arpaio's deputies
arrested him in 2007. He said he was handcuffed and held for hours, not read his rights or allowed a phone call,
or told why he had been arrested. Two other plaintiffs were accosted by deputies at gunpoint during a
neighborhood sweep, for no explained reason. They are citizens.
As always, criminal Rethugs will continue to commit crimes
until a Democrat finds the courage to stand up and say, "Enough."
I hope this scumbag ends up in the Maricopa County jail, where it's 140 degrees.

The unsolvable Bain problem

Politics 101 says that when
your campaign is bleeding — Romney is bleeding right now — the best
way to stop it is to get as many facts out as quickly as possible and
then insist that it’s a dead issue
and refuse to answer questions on it moving forward.
That won’t likely work for Romney because of the seeming contradictions
about when he left Bain
and the exotic nature of his financial life.
While most independent fact checkers agree that Romney had no
involvement in Bain’s day-to-day
operations after 1999, the fact that he was listed on SEC documents as
chairman and president of Bain
creates a fuzziness that allows Obama to continue to hammer away on the
issue.
That fuzziness was furthered over the weekend bythat idiot Ed Gillespie
who said that Willard had
“retroactively” retired in 1999.
That phrasing might work in the business world but it points to the
political problem Romney has
with Bain. Regular people who aren’t CEOs don’t retroactively retire
after three years in which
they are listed as the head — whether titular or not — of a major
company.
How can he make this go away?
Seems like he has to call himself a liar to start that process.
I'm going to watch.

A family friend of George Zimmerman (R-Racist) told investigators he sexually molested her
on and off for nearly a decade, newly released audio tapes in the Trayvon Martin shooting case reveal.
"He would reach under the blankets and try to do things," the woman—identified as Witness 9—told investigators.
She said the molestation occurred at Zimmerman's parents' house.
"I would try to push him off, but he was bigger, stronger and older," she said during the interview
The woman, who contacted prosecutors after Martin's killing, said she was 6 and Zimmerman was 8
when the alleged molestation began. It continued until she was 16, she said.
Investigators asked the woman why she was coming forward now.
"This is the first time in my life that I'm not afraid of him," she replied.
The woman also told state investigators that she anonymously called Sanford police after Martin's death.
"I was afraid that he may have done something because the kid was black," the woman says.
She said she had no direct knowledge of the shooting death, but wanted police to know
Zimmerman had made negative comments about blacks when they were growing up.
