Advertise on bartcop.com Quotes "When you have four Americans killed that's a problem, And we've got to get to the bottom of it, and there needs to be accountability. But when they go after the U.N. ambassador, apparently because they think she's an easy target, then they've got a problem with me," -- Obama, warning McCain to back off AND showing signs of sac Link Wouldn't it be something to see second-term Obama act like a man instead of a mouse? I would really enjoy seeing that. Send e-mail to Bart He's threatening - says he wants her stopped Link John McCain (R-Depends) is convinced that U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice is part of a massive cover-up over the Benghazi embassy attack and is launching a preemptive campaign to keep her from becoming Secretary of State. McCain said he would do "everything I can" to block Rice's nomination. McCain is telling anyone who will listen that Rice is not qualified to be the chief U.S. diplomat and that he believes she intentionally misled people about what the government knew about the attack. McCain is even threatening to filibuster her nomination. Depends and the GOP are the worst gamblers I've ever seen. They're going all in on this nutty Bengjazi idea - why? At the time of the attack, most of the Muliem world was rioting. IF the White House initially thought the attack was related to that stupid movie - who could blame them? Four dead is bad, of course, but Senator Depends was fine with Bush lying us into a war that ended up killing 5,000 American soldiers - that wasn't worth an investigation? Send e-mail to Bart Game Over for Grover Norquist? Link Two meetings in Washington today tell the story of the decline of Grover Norquist. One is Norquist’s weekly “Wednesday Meeting,” a gathering of “more than 150 elected officials, political activists, and movement leaders” who plot strategy and coordinate messaging every week. After big losses at the polls in last week’s election and a fracturing conservative base just as Congress heads into its most important tax negotiations in years, it’s safe to assume that this morning’s meeting was tense. Today’s second interesting meeting is taking place at the White House, where Obama is meeting with a dozen CEOs of the country’s biggest corporations. How did Norquist react to news of Obama reaching out to the business community, which he aims to represent in Washington? Not positively. Norquist told the Washington Post the CEOs were “acting like a group of trained seals” for Obama, posing for a “photo op” to give the president cover. The goose of Grover Norquist is fully cooked. Send e-mail to Bart Subject: Five stages Five Stages of Repug Grief --1. Whining --2. Signing up for secession --3. Buying extra ammo --4. Drinking Bud and flinging stuff --5. Falling asleep watching Fox TK Send e-mail to Bart FOUR YEARS I've been waiting to see that headline. Think he'll stick to it? Or will he cave again? I admit I'm a liar Quotes "I think that there was a period of time when the Romney campaign was falling apart, people were not optimistic, nobody thought there was a chance of victory and I felt that it was my duty at that point to go out and say Romney would win in a landslide." -- Dick Morris (R-Toe-sucker) Link Of course, he's lying when he admits why he lied. I saw him on Nov 5 predicting a Romney landslide. This wasn't done to "rally the troops." Plus, the Romney campaign thought they'd already won. Who tries to cheer up smirking Fascists who are giddy with glee? Send e-mail to Bart Subject: Arizona Hey now... after all the hard work me and my friends did to turn Florida into a blue state, you're just going to dis us to our faces like that? Jack in Apopka, Florida Jack, you havce a point - Obama carried Florida, even tho old people went for Romney by 20 points. Send e-mail to Bart Thurston: Obama Bribed Voters Link In a call with his disappointed donors Romney attributed his election loss to “gifts” Obama gave to the young and Blacks: Obama, Romney argued, had been “very generous” to Blacks, Latinos and young voters. He cited Obama's extension of health coverage for students on their parents’ insurance plans well into their 20s. Free contraception coverage under Obama’s healthcare plan, he added, gave an extra incentive to college-aged women to back the president. Romney argued that the Obama’s health care plan’s promise of coverage “in perpetuity” was “highly motivational” to those voters making $25,000 to $35,000 who might not have been covered, as well as to Blacks and latinos. Pivoting to immigration, Romney said Obama’s efforts to paint him as “anti-immigrant” had been effective and that “amnesty” to the rugrats of spics had helped turn out Latino voters. “Obama focused on giving targeted groups a big gift so he made a big effort on small things. Those small things, by the way, add up to trillions of dollars.” ha ha Stop whining, Loser. History will record that you couldn't even beat a Black guy with 8 percent unemployment and you had a BILLION dollars to make your case - and you lost so slither away - Loser. Send e-mail to Bart Subject: Zeppelin movie Hey Bart! Not too long ago you asked if anyone had seen Zeppelin's Celebration Day concert film. Last night (11/13), it played in theaters one last time before the DVD/CD release next week. I figured it was my last chance to see it nice and loud on a big screen so I went. Best decision I've made in a while. It was fantastic. Shot in such a way that for much of the time you feel like you're right on stage with them. One thing that struck me was how much they enjoyed themselves. The cameras captured several small moments of the guys smiling at each other. If anyone has a big screen TV and a good sound system, I hope they buy it. They won't be disappointed. Scott in Sacramento CA I saw it back in October and I thought it was great - but then, when it comes to Jimmy Page, I'm more prejudiced than the vulgar Pigboy at a cross burning. It's been 4 years and another election ago and he still hasn't got over losing to President Obama. Picking on Susan Rice? Really? If you're going to take on Obama why dodn't you do it face to face rather than by proxy. Only cowards pick on women for no reason. I think it's time McCain quit wining and remember that his job is to serve the best interests of the citizens and not act like a cry baby. You're in your 70s dude. It's time to grow up and be an adult. Marc Perkel Send e-mail to Bart Today's Mystery

Send e-mail to Bart The Leftist GOP of the Future by Ted Rall Link Exasperated radio blowhard Rush Limbaugh asks: “Condoleeza Rice…is a pinnacle of achievement, and intelligent, and well-spoken… You can’t find a more accomplished person. Marco Rubio. And really, speaking in street lingo, we’re not getting credit for it…Are these people perceived as tokens?” Yes. Uncle Toms are easy to spot. “In order to get the Hispanic or Latino vote, does that mean open the borders and embrace the illegals?” Yes. “If we’re not getting the female vote, do we become pro-choice?” Yes. Liberal pundits are helpfully offering advice to their Republican counterparts this week, arguing that if that if GOP officials and pundits make a few nips and tucks into their Neanderthal platform and tone, downplaying their unpopular stances on social issues, they may yet save their white male–dominated party from irrelevance. Let’s set aside the obvious fact that no one does nor should listen to counsel offered by their enemies. Nevertheless, Republicans might be more willing to listen to me than to other left-of-center columnists. After all, I love the GOP just as much as I care for the Democrats (not at all). Really, truly, I don’t give a rat’s ass which corporate party wins or loses. Ted is crazy (and perpetually on the rag) but I like him. Send e-mail to Bart Subject: Texas Secession Sure they'll secede!! They don't need government money or jobs, and never will, even next time a hurricane wrecks their gulf coast. I actually wouldn't mind if these deep thinkers would leave the union, we could sure use a few more air force bases and other military installations here in Missouri. Oh, wait, we're seceding, too. These petitions are so meaningful. And they hurt so bad, just like when a republican refers to the "democrat party", because focus groups have established that using that terms hurts democrats. I know I die a bit each time a hear a republicunt politician say that. Harold B Subject: Texas Secession Bart, So Texas is actually trying to secede? Don't they know that the only way the Mexican government was willing to give us California, Oregon, New Mexico, and Arizona was if they could dump Texas on us too? Russ Subject: Texas Secession Hey Bart, If we say buh-bye to Texas & Florida, maybe we can swap them for Puerto Rico and D.C.? That way, we don't have to change the stars on the US flag! Paul in Clev-o Subject: Texas Secession If we let Florida go, all the retirees will effectively forgo their US citizenship. They will thus be ineligible for their Social Security checks. Think how much money we could save! It could become a haven for wingnuts. None of them will know how to govern. Secession will create it's own anarchy. Best of all, Pigboy lives there. Ed from Mesa, AZ The way I understand it, it's NOT illegal to frame someone for murder. It says the St Louis police hid or destroyed evidence that he was innocent. Why is this not a crime? Smoking a joint is a BIG, BIG crime is a lot of states, but it's perfectly legal to put an innocent man thru 30 years of isolation and hell? Why is this not a crime? Send e-mail to Bart Quotes "Mr. President, on the fiscal cliff, two years ago, sir, you said that you wouldn’t extend the Bush-era tax cuts, but at the end of the day, you did. So, respectfully, sir, why should the American people and the Republicans believe that you won’t cave again this time? -- CNN's Dana Bash (I think) at yesterday's press conference, Link THAT is how America's whore press is SUPPOSED to act. Obama caved in maybe 200 times in his first term. Why should anybody believe him when he says he won't do it again? A rare shot of Chinaco for a member of the press. Send e-mail to Bart Six Bizarre Election Freakouts Link Some CEOs threw a hissy over Obama's re-election and took their frustration out on their employees. Robert Murray, CEO of the coal company Murray Energy, responded to the election by reading a prayer to his employees and then laying off 50 of them. Papa John's pizza CEO John Schnatter, a Romney ass-kisser, announced that franchise owners will likely have to cut hours for employees in order to pay for Obamacare. And Zane Tankel, a New York-based Applebee's franchisee, said he would halt plans to expand his 40-restaurant empire because the health care law would cost him too much. Subscribers are way off, donations are way down, but we still have a lot of readers. Back in the old days, when people had jobs, we raised $6,000 once. Today, I'd be satisfied with a $2,000 fund-raiser. (It kills me to see other Lefty sites appeal for money: "We need $30,000 by Friday - can you help?") Bartcop.com is worth saving, right? Davo Send e-mail to Bart Libs Act Like GOP - about time! Link One of the major problems with liberals and progressives is their live-and-let-live attitude. Not authoritarian by nature, they basically don't care who does or does not agree with them. They don't take knock-downs personally, and they are often willing to forgive and forget all too soon. Not, apparently, this time. Facebook and other social media are still...a week after the election...alive with progressives reminding obstructionist, protectionist, fearful teabaggers how idiotic some of their beliefs are. And thank goodness. Not this time. We didn't reason with them, but to be honest, it wasn't because we took a page from their manual; it was because they were so volubly, visibly and risibly ignorant, we didn't have to. They handed us that gimme through the drooling mouths of their own un-electable poohbahs. Send e-mail to Bart What is today's History Mystery?
