Mike Huckabee (Teabagger, Religiously Insane) sparked controversy when he stupidly linked
Friday's shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary to the "systematic removal" of religion from schools.
Though police have yet to name the gunman and know little about his motives, Huckabee apparently
read the mind of the dead shooter to link school "carnage" to restrictions on religion in the classroom.
Huckabee: Ultimately, you can take away every gun in America and somebody will use a gun.
That makes no sense even if you're religiously insane.
People will want to pass new laws, but unless you change people’s hearts, they’re our transition
maybe to the pastor side. This is a heart issue -- laws don’t change this kind of thing.

Piyush "Bobby" Jindal, the crooked governor of Louisiana and a possible 2016 GOP
presidential loser, endorsed over-the-counter contraception without a prescription Friday.
In an op-ed in the Whore Street Journal, Piyush tried moving away from the Fascist-dog wing
of the party and addressing a gender gap which hurt Romney and likely cost him Indiana and Missouri.
Jindal wrote that Republicans have been “stupid to let the Democrats demagogue the contraceptives issue.”
Piyush, there's no room for sanity in today's GOP.

You have bigger fish to fry than dollar poker games, too,
but that didn't stop you from ruining the legal fun of 30 million online poker players.
"It would not make sense for us to see a top priority as going after recreational users in
states that have determined that it's legal," he said, with all the clarity of a mud puddle.
It makes no sense for you to straddle the issue, yet you're doing just that.

why don't you speak clearly on the subject and erase all the gray areas of doubt.

With the election behind him and a strong mandate, I don't think we will see Obama
caving nearly as much. He has all the negotiating power as we approach the fiscal cliff.
Newtown may be the straw that breaks the camel's back on gun control.
If you take the 40,000 foot view, Obama has been slowly but surely defeating his opponents
(Romney, Rove, McCain, Bin Ladin, and now it looks like Norquist may be going down, etc.).
Let's see if he has the might to go up against the NRA.
2013 will be a HUGE year with gun control now on the table, filibuster reform,
DOMA/Prop 8 in front of the SCOTUS, Bush tax cut expiration, defense cuts,
WA/CO pot laws that Obama has already said would be a low priority for the Feds.

Nobody needs me to tell them that yesterday was none of the blackest days in American history.
I’m sure that all of us are having to come to terms with this latest illustration of what America has
become and is becoming. The first numbing realization that yes, it had happened again and yes it was
another nut case with easy access to weapons that no civilian in this country has any legitimate need
for or be allowed to have. Then came the realization that this one was going to be the worst of all,
not so much in regard to the number of victims but because of who the victims were… children.
Four and five and six year old kids along with their teachers and others who had been entrusted
with their care, gunned down by another sick individual with a big gun, this time apparently with
a grudge against his mommy and using her own guns to commit the heinous act.

Three days before 20-year-old Adam Lanza killed his mother, then opened fire on a classroom
full of kids, my 13-year-old son missed his bus because he was wearing the wrong color pants.
"I can wear these pants," he said, his tone increasingly belligerent, the black-hole pupils of his eyes
swallowing the blue irises.
"They are navy blue," I told him. "Your school's dress code says black or khaki pants only."
"They told me I could wear these," he insisted. "You're a stupid bitch. I can wear whatever

I am sharing this story because I am Adam Lanza's mother. I am Dylan Klebold's and Eric Harris's mother.
I am Jason Holmes's mother. I am Jared Loughner's mother. I am Seung-Hui Cho's mother. And these boys
—and their mothers—need help. In the wake of another horrific national tragedy, it's easy to talk about guns.
But it's time to talk about mental illness.
For some medical reason, some young men snap about the time they turn twenty.
For Lanza, Holmes and Loughner, the demons came around the same time.
People should speak up when someone in that age range starts going thru changes.

It's that time of year again, when everyone gets a Christmas card from the White House.
Just kidding! Only certain people get the annual mailing, but that doesn't mean the rest of us
can't wistfully stare at a virtual version of it. This year's card features a painting by Larassa Kabel.
The Des Moines, Iowa-based artist beat out competitors from around the country for her rendering
of Bo, the Obama family dog, knee-deep in snow on the White House lawn. The basic image came
from a photograph provided by the White House, but putting a scarf around Bo's neck was Kabel's
idea, reports the Green Bay Press Gazette:
