A top tea party group is taking its clash with Karl Rove to a new level,
sending out a fundraising email Tuesday featuring a photoshopped image
of the smirking bastard in an SS uniform.
“Wipe the Smirk Off Karl Rove’s Face,” reads the subject line of the email,
from Jenny Beth Martin, co-founder and national coordinator of the Tea Party Patriots.
The email features a photo illustration in which shows Rove as a Nazi slimeball.
The lower left-hand corner of the photo features the inscriptions “Reichsführer-SS”
and “K. Rove,” and appears to match a photo of SS Reichsführer Heinrich Himmler.
Five hours after the fundraising email went out, the Teabaggers issued an apology.

A US Catholic group has called for an American cardinal accused of covering up
sexual abuse by priests not to take part in electing a new pope, saying he would
taint the new pontiff with the same scandal that dogged Pope Benny the Rat.
As of Tuesday, the group Catholics United had gathered more than 5,000 signatures
against Cardinal Roger Mahony, the pro-rape archbishop of Los Angeles until 2011.
"Please do not bring further scandal to our Church that has already been rocked by
the sex abuse crisis by attending the Papal Conclave. You have been disciplined and
you have lost your ability to have a voice within our Church," said the petition.
The campaign gained momentum when Italy's best-selling magazine Famiglia Cristiana
- "Christian Family" - asked its readers whether Mahony should attend the conclave that
elects a successor to Benedict next month. The overwhelming answer was "no".
In an interview with Al Jazeera, Vatican journalist Alessandro Speciale said it is up to
Mahony to examine his "conscience" and decide if he wants to participate in the conclave.
Really?
The pro-rape cardinal can decide if he wants to help elect a new pro-rape pope?
The new pope HAS to be pro-rape - he's got no other choice.
If the new pope said, "All the guilty priests must resign," they'd have no church.

Ashley Judd’s possible Senate run in Kentucky has been a matter of speculation for months,
with potential challenged incumbents Mitch the Bitch and brainless Rand Paul both weighing in.
The speculation has again begun to heat up, as a few indicators have emerged that Judd is getting
serious about entering politics. Politico reported Judd’s secret meeting with officials at the
Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee this week.
The site explained:
“Ashley Judd privately met with officials at the DSCC earlier this week, as she continues to weigh
whether to mount a Senate run. The meeting suggests that Judd's chances of getting in are increasing."

Bob Beckel, liberal stooge on Fox News' "The Five," came under fire Tuesday for
suggesting that rape rarely happened on college campuses.
During a discussion over whether concealed weapons could help prevent sexual assault on campuses,
Beckel asked, "When was the last time you heard about a rape on campus?"
"What are you talking about? It's rampant," co-host Eric Bolling said.
"What are you going to take a gun out and shoot your date?" Beckel responded.
Rape is rampant in at least four places:
On a college campus, in the military, on cruise ships and those Catholic bastards.
If you are raped on a college campus, they tell you to "walk it off."
If you are raped on a military base, they tell you to keep it to yourself.
If you are raped on a cruise ship, you always have the option to fly to Liberia
and rent a Liberian lawyer and gamble with a Liberian jury.
If you are raped by a priest, you are told "It's all part of God's plan."
Why do women tolerate that?

When the Berkeley Barb was busy railing against the Vietnam War, occasionally lefties would
be asked to save a ration of their activist energies to become upset with the fact that some
kindred spirits were being given life sentences for possession of a single marijuana cigarette.
The conservatives were adamant that the hippies in flyover country were getting what they deserved.
Now they wonder if they’d catch the liberals off guard by suggesting that any of those lifers who are
still in prison should be given a pardon and their freedom.
Any kid who was given a life sentence in 1968, if he or she were 20 years old at the time, will be
turning 65 this year. What conservative wouldn’t be a walking example of schadenfreude in action if the
folks who have been in prison all this time are given a full pardon (and thus save their state the cost of
their incarceration) and face a life of retirement coping with a monthly Social Security check of Zero?
What a barbaric nation we are.

Going to Alaska
Mrs Bart has always wanted to go to Alaska and we thought we'd better go
before I have to drag an oxygen tank behind my wheelchair.
We bought tickets last year but we kept running into reasons why we couldn't go so
we're trying once again to go - and we're Alaska newbies. Astrocat says March is the
best month for aurora viewing and the weather isn't always freezing - hopefully.
I heard Alaska had something called Matanuska Valley Thuderfuck
but I'm a journalist so I can't say it exists because I've never seen any.
