Joseph McBride had been a volunteer on Kennedy’s campaign, and since 1963 had been intrigued
by the unanswered questions surrounding that most singular of American tragedies.
A particular memo caught his eye, and he leaned in for a closer look. Practically jumping off the screen
was a memo from J. Edgar Hoover, dated November 29, 1963. Under the subject heading “Assassination
of President John F. Kennedy,” Hoover reported that, on the day after JFK’s murder, the bureau had
provided two individuals with briefings. One was “Captain William Edwards of the DIA.”
The other: “Mr. George Bush of the Central Intelligence Agency.”
We have been advised that the Department of State feels some misguided anti-Castro group might
capitalize on the present situation and undertake an unauthorized raid against Cuba, believing that the
assassination of President Kennedy might herald a change in U.S. policy… Our sources know of no
such plans… The substance of the foregoing information was orally furnished to Mr. George Bush
of the Central Intelligence Agency and Captain William Edwards of the Defense Intelligence Agency.

House Republicans are fuming at Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Crazy) for conceding that the party's efforts
to repeal Obamacare aren't going anywhere in the Senate -- and leaving the House to keep fighting over it anyway.
Cruz, a tea party favorite, is one of the most vocal haters of health care for the poord. He's spent months
championing the cause. But on Wednesday, as House Republican leaders unveiled their latest plan for sinking
Obamacare -- tying a measure to defund the law to a must-pass resolution that keeps the government running
-- Cruz thanked House Republicans for their fight, and said they're on their own.
Aides to top Republicans in the House went ape-shit.
"We haven't even taken up the bill and Ted Cruz is admitting defeat?" fumed one crazy teabagger.
"Some people came here to govern and make things better for their constituents. Ted Cruz came here
to throw bombs and fundraise off of attacks on fellow Republicans. He's a joke, plain and simple."
Another aide said Cruz's comment "exposes how [Senate conservatives] have deliberately misled
their constituents and the grassroots for eight weeks. This isn't leadership, it's hypocrisy."
You gotta love a public GOP civil war.

Legalization has hurt as much as helped. Many grow warehouses are toxic.
Many owners push for quantity at the expense of quality. The breeding being
done holds great promise. Black market from a friend is still where the best is found.
There are about ten "good" shops. Each shop is unique. It really is incredible how different
the shops are and how loyal the clients are to their shop. Two shops across the street from
each other might never share any customers. One could be an upscale place, looking like a
dentist / law office with an armed guard in the lobby, and across the street will be a little
hole-in-the-wall dive run by an art forger, ha ha Clients come in BMWs to the first place
and by bus to the other. There are places on federal land run by Mexicans that sell burritos.
A few hippy long hair places. Some Amsterdam transfers. Too many places run by hardhearted
businessmen. People find a place that they feel comfortable with and unless things get bad they stay loyal.
CAM has several good growers and often have a great selection. But like most places they
have had some problems. The best places can not produce enough of the best pot to keep
in on the selves. Be sure to ask about what is not on the shelves. There is almost always
something special that is not on display.

Apparently in Texas, justice is for sale
A crooked Texas appeals court has overturned former Rep. Tom DeLay’s conviction on money
laundering charges, releasing an opinion Thursday morning saying that prosecutors never proved
the Texas Republican and one-time powerful majority leader of the House benefited from criminal activity.
Really? This is how "justice" works in Tejas?
I guess if Tom DeLay was caught red-handed robbing a bank,
he could get off by claiming he never actually benefitted from his
criminal activity because he never had a chance to spend any of his loot??
They didn't mention how much Delay paid to get his conviction "overturned."

India's skin-color obsession drives a whitening-cream market valued at $432M in 2010.
Beauty queens appear in skin-whitening advertisements; the pursuit of fair skin is pervasive,
particularly in pageants. Chaudhry points to cultural anthropologist Susan Runkle, who followed
contestants preparing for the 2003 Miss India pageant. Skin-lightening was part of the regimen.
