"A Republican is apparently someone who thinks people choose to be poor, unemployed and on food stamps because it's easy and FUN!" -- LOLGOP in a Tweet Send e-mail to Bart Has Katie Kouric Gone Crazy? She's "pulling a Jenny McCarthy" on vaccines Link Katie Couric may want to brush up on her reporting skills before she becomes "global anchor" at Yahoo!, according to a number of critics displeased with a report about the HPV vaccine on her how, "Katie." In a segment that aired Wednesday, Couric and a panel of guests discussed the supposed controversy surrounding the vaccine, known as Gardasil, which prevents transmission of a STD that affects 80 million Americans and has been linked to numerous forms of cancer, particularly cervical. The outcry began Tuesday with a blog post from science writer Seth Mnookin. Mnookin was troubled by the sensationalistic teaser for the episode: "The HPV vaccine is considered a life-saving cancer preventer … but is it a potentially deadly dose for girls?" People could get sick or die because Katie wants higher ratings. I hear measles is on the rise because teabaggers and homeschoolers aren't getting their shots. Who knows - maybe we can get polio to come back, too. Send e-mail to Bart Subject: CNN Breaking News Florida State University quarterback and Heisman Trophy hopeful Jameis Winston will not be charged in a case of alleged rape, the state attorney for Lee County, Florida, said today. "We have a duty as prosecutors to only file charges if we have a reasonable likelihood of a conviction," State Attorney Willie Meggs said. "We did not feel we could meet that burden." I know very little about this BUT I read that the accuser said her attacker was 5' 10". Jameis Winston is 6 foot 4, so maybe that's why they felt they couldn't win. Advertise on bartcop.com KY Gov: Bitch, Stop Lying Kentucky signed up 70,000 and counting Like It was just Wednesday that Mitch the Bitch (R-Ky.) railed against the Obamacare, calling it a "catastrophic failure" for people everywhere. "This is beyond fixing. It needs to be pulled out root and branch and we need to start over," McConnell lied on Fox News. "It's been a catastrophe for health care and for the economy at large." But the governor of McConnell's home state says The Butch is lying, the health care law is working, and people in Kentucky can't get enough of it. "The Bitch keeps saying Kentuckians don't want this. Well, the facts don't prove that out," Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear (D) told reporters. Beshear said more than 550,000 people have visited the state's Obamacare website More than 180,000 have called into the health care call center and about 69,000 people have signed up, or about 1,000 Kentuckians per day. Of those who have signed up, he said, 41 percent are under the age of 35. "There is a tremendous pent-up demand in Kentucky for affordable health care," Beshear said. "People are hungry for it." Send e-mail to Bart Subject: Thank you Nelson Mandella Nelson Mandela passed away but he left behind an incredible legacy that has been a blessing to humanity. Very few people have lived the kind of extraordinary life that he lived with a record of accomplishment to be celebrated by the entire planet. Mandela joins great people in history like Martin Luther King and Mahatma Gandhi who not only freed the oppressed but created a standard worldwide that all people have an equal right to lives of freedom and dignity. Mandela is an inspiration and a role model for everyone on the planet and his spirit lives on in the soul of humanity. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Marc Perkel Send e-mail to Bart

Subject: your Mystery City Dear Bart: How many aerial photos of Central Park in Manhattan do you need? How many of the smart people who read your blog do you think don't recognize it? Best regards. Cordially, Stu the lawyer I'm going to go with 14 and 209. Send e-mail to Bart Palin 'humble enough' to accept Bashir apology If you belueve that I have a bridge to sell you Link Sarah Palin accepted Martin Bashir's apology on Thursday, a day after he resigned in the wake of a scandal stemming from comments he made about her. "My role is to accept his apology and be humble enough to accept it and move on," Palin said. “At this point, I’m used to it. ... In this world, you are going to be hurt and attacks will come your way." Last month, Bashir apologized to Palin and MSNBC viewers after suggesting on air that Palin be defecated on for comparing the federal debt to slavery. "I made some comments which were deeply offensive and directed at Gov. Sarah Palin," Bashir said. "I want to say sorry to Mrs. Palin and to also offer an unreserved apology to her friends and family, her supporters and our viewers. My words were wholly unacceptable." But the initial apology was apparently not enough for Palin, who canceled a scheduled holiday interview with the "Today" show in protest over NBC News not taking action against Bashir. On Wednesday, Bashir announced his resignation. It was a really stupid and unnecessary thing to say, Martin. Palin loves playing trhe victim and your comments gave her more power. Send e-mail to Bart Who was Charlie's hottest Angel? I have an opinion on that, Bart US states take jump as legal marijuana markets open Link Colorado and Washington are taking a big jump forward. They are creating a pot market in which local authorities will oversee growing, distribution and marketing -- all of it legal -- for people to get high just for the fun of it. In Colorado, famous for its Rocky Mountain ski resorts, at least 130 licenses have been issued for small shops which, starting January 1, will be able to sell up to 28 grams of marijuana to people aged 21 or older. Another 300 applications for licenses are pending. The pot sold in shops will come from private, licensed growers. In Colorado, consumption, possession and domestic growing of pot in small amounts were already allowed. But sales of it were not. This left the door open for drug dealers to operate. In legal terms, smoking pot will be subject to the same rules and obligations as those governing alcohol. People will not be able to smoke it in public or grow it on public land. Oh, so nobody's drinking beer at the ball game? Send e-mail to Bart Subject: donation Bart, I’d send you some money. but you never print the extra super brilliant comments I send you. Link We've posted some real winners, this might be the best/worst. Send e-mail to Bart Subject: JFK, 9-11 and all the rotten schiess... Bart, In a span of less than five years the three greatest and most high-profile Progressives this country had ever seen, men who had more support from our nation than any of their competitors or detractors, were murdered. Ever since then the Progressive cause has mostly floundered while the far-right was resurrected from the fate of national irrelevance. Coincidentally the murdered President was about to announce his plan to disband the CIA before he was shot. And those within his inner circle knew and he was no fan of the FBI or the warhawks in the Pentagon either. Skip ahead 37 years, one generation. Within less than one year, after the most contentious and controversial election this country has ever held, our nation suffered the most devastating and violent attack that ever occurred on American soil, apart from the Civil War. It made Americans “forget” any issues of illegitimacy hanging over the new president, and it became unpatriotic to voice any doubts about it either because now we were “under attack”. And coincidentally, a certain report which claimed to verify the legitimacy of the new president was simply buried by the mainstream national media. The report concluded after a review of some 175,000 ballots that although the new president may have won, ballots by minority and elderly voters were tossed out over all other ballots at a rate over 3-to-1, a difference significant enough to have changed the outcome. And not so coincidentally, after all the clamor about the need for ballot reform, the only changes to have occurred in all these years since make voting even more difficult for minorities and the elderly, not easier. Now what do these seemingly separate and terrible events have in common? I won’t review all likely degrees of separation, but two certain federal agencies and two certain presidents, who happen to share the same name, immediately come to mind. No one will ever convince me there wasn’t a conspiracy at the highest levels of our national law enforcement, both before and after the fact, in each of these tragedies. In October of 2017 the last of the JFK assassination files will be released. There won’t be any telltale clues of course, but if they do raise more questions than they answer you can be sure a new generation of dedicated historians will make it their mission to discover, and uncover, the truth. JD Send e-mail to Bart Ten Cliches Christians say, but shouldn’t Link “Everything happens for a reason.” Consider how that sounds to someone who was raped. “If you died today, do you know where you’d spend the rest of eternity?” No, and neither do you. So stop asking such a presumptuous question. “He is in a better place.” This may or may not be true. We have no way of knowing. “Jesus died for your sins.” Who the hell asked him to? Send e-mail to Bart Subject: Catwoman vs Batgirl Bart, I have to disagree with you about catwoman...but I must qualify that. Some are less scary than others: Julie Newmar and Anne Hathaway are much less freaky than Halle Berry and Michelle Pfiefer....MEOW! Julie Newmar and Lynda Carter (Wonder Woman) were very influential in my youth, if you know what I mean. TM Send e-mail to Bart Right-Wingers vs Shirley Manson “Come down to my house–stick a stone in your mouth You can always pull out–if you like it too much Make a whole new religion A falling star that you cannot live without And I’ll feed your obsession There’ll be nothing but this thing that you’ll never doubt” These are the first words that our precious youth will hear when they play the CD from rock band very appropriately named “Garbage.” Yeah, eighteen years ago. That CD came out in 1995, before today's precious yoots were born. The song’s lyrical content paints an eerie picture of deviant sex by rejecting the religious upbringing that their parents have worked so hard to instill in them. This band and its popularity is a testament to the depths at which the world has fallen as it succumbs time and time again to the will of Satan. Really? You think there's a Satan? Are you f-ing six years old? Do you really think invisible demons are coming to "get you?" I'll bet you voted for Romney. The track is called “Supervixen.” It is sung by a visibly striking glamor whorelot named Shirley Manson. ha ha You might want to watch what you say. If Shirley gets angry she could bite your ears off. You'd really be better off going after anyone else. While rejecting religious upbringing during her formative years in Edinburgh, Scotland, Ms. Manson took to the lure of satanic music in the form of bands like the Pretenders and Patty Smithe. Really, Dude? The Pretenders and Patty Smithe are Satanic? How can you tell if music is "Satanic" - if it sells well? BTW, The Pretenders went country - can you have Satanic country music? Manson’s early slippage down the popularity ladder... What does that mean? was caused by Christian rejection of her acceptance of Satanism. What? She's not as poular because Christians rejected her acceptance of Satanism? That "Satan song" is 18 years old, so why is she being rejected now? And who decided she was being rejected? If you decide to confront Shirley, could I be there to watch? I'll bring a plastic bag for your ears. Send e-mail to Bart More States Turning to Pot Every state but Oklahoma will get there, eventually Link The economics of legalizing marijuana for recreational use has several states watching Colorado and Washington to see if revenues rise. The latest member of the club is Portland, Maine, which just legalized pot within the city limits. A city ordinance went into effect on Friday, Dec. 6 that allows possession up to 2.5 ounces. It's the first city on the East Coast to legalize recreational use of marijuana. "It's like the onset of casino gambling," says Alan Bochstein, founder of the 420 Investor. Colorado and Washington are the first states to legalize recreational use of marijuana and the money is as green as the weed. Colorado is expected to save $12 million a year for reduced criminal costs and generate $32 million in new revenue. Washington state says it can save $23 million a year on criminal costs, but thinks the business could deliver up to $530 million, a much higher number than the other states partly because it includes marijuana tourism estimates. All in all, it's no wonder other states are jonesing for this new found revenue. Who's next? MN, NY, PA, AK, AZ, CA, OR and Illinois got there, already. Saving millions on reduced criminal costs should do the trick all by itself. Making hundreds of millions of dollars from tourism is a gift from Baby Jesus. Send e-mail to Bart Subject: Obamacare Bart, when my state blocked Medicaid expansion, I knew it was… SABOTAGE! And, the Insurance companies are part of it. The Sheeple are conned by it.
