A longstanding cornerstone of crooked Chris Christie's popularity (and why national GOP strategists
are drawn to him) has been his cross-party appeal. But a major traffic scandal has diminished crooked
Chris Christie's luster in the eyes of Democrats -- and fast.
Crooked Chris Christie's favorability has plunged 19 percentage points since last November, according to
a new poll. Among Democratics, it's down 26. His job approval rating has dipped a whopping 22 points
among Democrats, driving the overall drop from 68 percent to 53 percent.
Crooked Chris Christie's approval rating among New Jersey Democrats dipped from 47 percent to 38.
Just 36 percent of New Jersey Democratic voters said they approved of the job crooked Chris Christie
was doing, compared to 55 percent who disapproved. That's a 180 degree turnaround since early 2013.
Nationally, crooked Chris Christie's unfavorable rating rose sharply among independents (+18) and
even quicker among Democrats (+25), which means it's time to stick a fork in crooked Chris Christie.

I know what they're saying, and I think this gets at the crux of the matter.
I see the endless back-and-forth on your site about Snowden, and it reminds me
of the endless back-and-forth about the torture issue I used to see on Bartcop.
Both issues come down to the same question.
Do you think the laws of the US should be changed to make what Snowden did legal?
No.
Snowden stole a million or more documents.
He didn't do that to "save us" from our government.
If he stole THREE secrets and stayed to face the music, he might've been a hero.
I certainly don't think so, but I do think that sometimes the law needs to be broken in order to save lives.
After the lives are saved, the decision to break the law can be defended in court.
If you don't think the law should be changed to allow the theft of massive amounts
of data from government agencies, are you going to argue that the Obama administration
should not prosecute lawbreakers?
Excellent point.
It's either legal to steal our national security secrets and give them away or it's not.
God help us (just kidding) if our idiot Supreme Court Court says what Snowden did was legal.
In my opinion, this is where the pro-Snowden argument tends to break down.
And this is why, referring to your old torture question, the guy should be tortured

children and adult victims were abused by trusted priests, but also how church officials often
bungled their responses, failing to turn sexual predators over to criminal authorities and often
shuttling the offending priests from parish to parish, where they abused again.
Excuse me, they didn't "bungle" anything.
They didn't accidentally rape and sodomize 10,000 kids.
Every goddamn crime was intentional.
Even now, they continue to make excuses and minimize their terrible crimes.
BTW, where were the prosecutors when this decades-long rape spree was going on?
The documents tell a tale that has been long-standing.
The deception came from the cardinal on down. And he says not only were the victims and their
families deceived, but so too were parishioners where offending priests were transferred, as well as
the police and the public at large. In one case in 1979, a priest raped a 13-year old boy and later
warned him at gunpoint not to tell anyone. The documents show the boy's parents were assured
that the priest would get treatment and would be kept away from minors, but he wasn't.
Within a year, that priest was returned to ministry in another parish where he abused again.
I've been talking about this for at least 12 years and they've done NOTHING about it.
I wonder how many thousands of children were raped in the last 12 years?
Maybe this new Pope means business.

Bart, I don't understand why some think that Snowden did something good by 'alerting' us
to NSA eavesdropping. We've known about that since the Patriot Act. He is a traitor....
a stupid traitor but a traitor, nonetheless.
God only knows what else he has leaked. He is a man without a country, now.
Maybe his motivation was altruistic and maybe it was notoriety. Whatever it was,
it was and is wrong to spill the beans on his country's secrets.

The law says that no marijuana can be sold without a federal tax stamp. The tax stamps were never issued.

More than a year after Perry Sanders announced plans to spread his New Orleans-themed brand
throughout local, regional and national markets, he says it’s all coming together.
Sanders, owner of The Mining Exchange and adjacent Springs Orleans restaurant, said that
he is working on two downtown renovation and expansion projects, a new restaurant in
Castle Rock and a partnership in Los Angeles, all of which he expects to iron out this year.
A year after he partnered with “Dog the Bounty Hunter” star Bobby Brown (ha ha) to develop a
property in Castle Rock, Colorado. Sanders says his new restaurant will be open by summertime.
The duo purchased the building with plans to open Sanders’ second Springs Orleans restaurant,
while Brown’s new bail bonds office will occupy the third floor. (ha ha) For the two,
the move signified the first step to gaining footholds in larger markets.
Sanders is undertaking another project as co-restaurateur in a location in Los Angeles.
“It is an existing restaurant that I think is in the best location in Los Angeles,” he said of the eatery,
which he described as a 7,000-square-foot fine dining establishment. Sanders plans to help the
restaurant find a theme similar to that of the New Orleans style he strings through his spaces.

I agree with you about Snowden in that I suspect he is not what he claims to be.
What it is he actually is doing remains to be seen, and anyone trumpeting him as a 'hero' is jumping on a bandwagon.
Here's my theory: Snowden is working for the Obama administration as a way to get NSA surveillance declared illegal
without Obama having to be the one to do it.
By having someone leak info that details the scope of the NSA surveillance, Obama won't look soft on defense when
he decides to end it. Sure, it makes him look bad that it was happening on his watch... but as USA TODAY reported
back in 2006, this has been going on since W was in office. Obama should be used to being blamed for things W did by now.
But one thing this administration is good at is getting things done indirectly. A good example is Obama's stance on gay marriage:
Biden just happened to open his big mouth on the topic, forcing Obama to take a position. If he had done it on his own,
the fallout would be tremendous. But having Biden open the door makes it look like damage control.
I think the same thing is happening here: if Obama ended the NSA on his own, the right would use it against him.
By having Snowden leak the info and getting the public upset, the only thing Obama gets blamed for is defending the nation too zealously.
I'd rather be blamed for being too hard on terrorism than being too lax, if I were a black President that is,

I agree with you about Snowden in that I suspect he is not what he claims to be.
What it is he actually is doing remains to be seen, and anyone trumpeting him as a 'hero' is jumping on a bandwagon.
Here's my theory: Snowden is working for the Obama administration as a way to get NSA surveillance declared illegal
without Obama having to be the one to do it.
By having someone leak info that details the scope of the NSA surveillance, Obama won't look soft on defense when
he decides to end it. Sure, it makes him look bad that it was happening on his watch... but as USA TODAY reported
back in 2006, this has been going on since W was in office. Obama should be used to being blamed for things W did by now.
But one thing this administration is good at is getting things done indirectly. A good example is Obama's stance on gay marriage:
Biden just happened to open his big mouth on the topic, forcing Obama to take a position. If he had done it on his own,
the fallout would be tremendous. But having Biden open the door makes it look like damage control.
I think the same thing is happening here: if Obama ended the NSA on his own, the right would use it against him.
By having Snowden leak the info and getting the public upset, the only thing Obama gets blamed for is defending the nation too zealously.
I'd rather be blamed for being too hard on terrorism than being too lax, if I were a black President that is,

Bart, that's a 1934 Voisin C27 Areosport Coupe.
Like many automobiles of the era, the Voisin Type C27 was created with aerodynamics
and aeronautical design in mind. Its maker, Gabriel Voisin, was an aviation pro who created
the first manned, engine-powered, heavier-than-air plane in Europe capable of a sustained,
controlled flight. His military aircraft greatly helped France during World War I.
An aviation-and-architecture-inspired collaboration with designer André Telmont, the 1934
Voisin Type C27 Aérosport Coupe features beautifully balanced coachwork and a semicircular
roofline that mimics the outline of the cockpit. Its interior fabric, a geometric pattern unusual for
the time, is new but was specially re-created based on a scrap of the original upholstery found in the car
